The eyes stared at me with an intense fury, I stepped in the spear in front me and snapped it in two as I walked towards them. My instincts told me to fight, I watched with intent as the eyes started to surround me and their hisses and sometimes growls reached my ear.

“Come on then,” I called as I stood there, my tails swayed in anticipation of the fight

“You have defiled our land,” came a voice from the shadows “leave now and you will not die””

The words were a threat but the sound that reached my ears was absolutely adorable. I stood there wanting to say something but held my tongue.

“So,” I said “what are you going to do?”

Another spear flew towards me but it was simply knocked down by one of my tails. I yawned exposing my teeth. If they weren’t going to attack then I will attack. I lounged into the threes.

“Well since you’re not going to come at me.”

Spears were thrown at me again but were easily dodged as I did I spat a sea of fire from my mouth setting my surrounding on fire and immediately extinguishing it and climbed into the trees.

“Come on where are you guys?” I asked getting annoyed “I’m trying to have a fight here, you know, show yourself.”

“To look at us means you will die,” explained the voice “you will die from our very existence.”

“Really,” I said confused “then why don’t you humour me, show me who you are I bet you’re adorable.”

“Adorable!” the voice screamed from around me

I shrugged “Well prove me wrong” I said

“Fine,” from the shadows the bushes rustled and moved I watched in confusion as through the trees small furry creatures stepped out “tremble in our presence.”

I was surrounded by fifteen rabbit cat hybrid looking creatures; they walked upright and had long rabbit ears with cat like faces. They all looked at me angrily but to me they looked adorable.

“What are you?” I asked looking down at them

“We are the Cabbit clan,” one before me said with his chest held high “now you will be defeated and your meat will feed us for months.”

“Are you really going to try and attack me” I asked my energy went down “I don’t want to be yelled at for killing such cute creatures.”

The lead Cabbit roared at me making me choke back a laugh “We are feared by the deer’s of the Everfree, you to shall know our wrath.”

I watched as the clan of rabbit cat hybrids attacked me with their spears, I could’ve dodged or knocked them down easily, didn’t but I wanted to make a point. The spears bounced off my chest, though the one the leader threw sunk into my fur a little. I knocked it off with a paw and looked at them.

“My turn?” I queried before standing on all fours and lowering my head in the most intimidating pose I could muster, I spread all nine of my tails wide and allowed myself to be engulfed in flames. I growled, my silhouette from within the fire with glowing eyes in the night sky must’ve looked as menacing as I hopped since more than half of them fainted and the rest were on their knee “had enough?”

“N-never we will never yield in a fight!” breathed their clan head

“Stubborn”

I started to control the fire making the flames wrap around them and I raised the heat

“I surrender,” the clan head finally said after dropping to his stomach “we surrender to you.”

I released my hold on the magic allowing it to dissipate. I once again returned to relaxing and yawned.

“Alright,” I said after a few moments of letting the Cabbits get back to their feet “I’m willing to listen if you’re willing to speak.”

The lead Cabbit stepped forward and lowered his head in servitude “we have lived in these forests for thousands of years great one,” he began “we have never had connections to the outside world unless necessary.”

“So why would you attack me?” I asked

“Our food supply is running low,” continued the leader “something in the forest is scaring them into hiding, we can feel it,we thought it was you.”

I stopped and looked at them, if I was the thing that was scaring away their food then I was the cause of all their problems. I sighed and scratched the back of my head.

“So, killing me would’ve allowed you to get back you food?” I questioned

“Yes, and the eating of your flesh would have given us your power.” I stepped back instinctively

At that moment from above I heard the flapping of wings, looking up I saw the beautiful sight of Luna lowering into the clearing. Her wings were outstretched and her head held high though she was glaring at the Cabbits with controlled fury. The Cabbits had all dropped to their knees and had lowered their head as Luna landed in front me.

Luna, looked a bit dishevelled her main and tail weren’t the usual pristine wavy void of night it usually was but it was a rushed put together. It seemed like she had rushed out taking little time to prepare herself and came to find me.

“Good morning,” I said

“One moment Vreizo,” Luna said calmly, her horn lit up and the sun slowly rose over the trees, she then turned to me and outstretched a wing that caressed my neck “good morning, are you alright?”

“I’m fine,” I replied “what are you doing here?”

“Azure came and woke me,” explained Luna “she was concerned for your safety so I rushed out here, and seeing as our sister is still drunk from last night’s revelry I have taken the liberty of raising her sun.”

I nodded and watched as she turned and glared down at the Cabbits. She stepped forward, the earth shook a little with the display of power the Cabbits cowered and visibly shook.

“So,” Luna said in a steel voice “these are the critters that are giving us problems?”

The leader of the Cabbit’s looked up, his chin still kissing the floor. His eyes were wide and he eyed Luna with fear and admiration.

“Great goddess of the moon,” he began “you have graced us with your presence, I apologise for waking your lordship.”

I watched on as Luna stepped towards the Cabbits when they called her goddess I know I saw her chest raise a little and her chin rise as well. She looked at them and smiled tightly.

“Your flattery will not help your cause,” Luna explained, she noticed the spears and levitated one over to her and inspected it “was this used to attack my consort?”

“Consort my goddess?” asked the Cabbit

Consort, okay what?

Luna didn’t look at me but continued to inspect the spear and in a flash aimed it at the Cabbit and pierced the ground directly in front him. She pulled it at that moment and aimed it again.

“Someone speak before I turn you all into a kebab.” Luna said aiming again

“My goddess, we did not now the one behind you was your consort,” the lead Cabbit said in a flurry of words, there’s that word again

Did I get a new title last night that I never knew about I started to think back ignoring what was happening in front of me, I raked my brain trying to figure out the last night’s proceedings. I strained my mind to the point of having a splitting headache. I winched in pain and held my head in my paws, upon noticing my discomfort Luna was at my side.

“Vreizo are you ok,” she asked “were you hurt in the altercation, do I need to seek revenge on these creatures for you?”

She spun and was aiming for the head of the lead Cabbit, the spear was flung but my quick thinking and wrapping her in my tails made her jump in surprise making her aim off. The head of the Cabbits shook in fear as the spear landed between his ears.

“You are embarrassing us,” Luna protested as I held her up

I sighed “No, I’m not hurt, they don’t deserve to die when I’m the one who is the cause for their misfortune,” I explained, I release the princess of the night and stepped before the Cabbits “I don’t know much about this world, but if you are willing you can come live with me in the castle, I have enough room as it is already.”

The Cabbit’s heads raised and looked at me surprised Luna stopped struggling against my tails and simply stared at me as well.

“Are you sure?” asked Luna

“Yes master, we lowly forest dwellers cannot taint your home,” added the lead Cabbit

“Oh shut up,” I exclaimed annoyed as I placed Luna on the ground in front me “Luna, is the castle not my home?”

“Yes, it is,” she answered sheepishly

“And can I do whatever I want to my home” I asked with a raised eye brow

“I suppose so, there is no law stating you cannot.” Luna nodded

I pointed to the Cabbit’s “Then from here on out you all will be residents to my home,” I announced

The Cabbit’s stood their heads still lowered

“We are humbled, but” began the lead Cabbit “we Cabbit’s are not going to simply leave our homes to live with you great one.”

“YOU DARE REGECT SUCH KINDNESS?” Luna’s Canterlot voice bellowed throughout the forest

“N-no it’s not that we are ungrateful,” explained the head “but we do have our way of life.”

I nodded again in understanding, then a thought struck me and I started to grin like an idiot.

“Fine,” I said “but in good favour I’ll be taking two of your kind.”

The Cabbit’s ear stood straight “Master, if we do that“ he began but was stopped by the cracking of my tail one the ground

“Don’t worry, your clan will be well fed,” I explained “so, choose now.”

The head Cabbit turned to his fellow kind and pointed to two of the Cabbits, they stepped forward and bowed to me.

“These are my own children master,” he said “please treat them kindly.”

I smiled and turned to Luna “Alright that’s done, should we head back?”

Luna returned her smile and turned and began walking back towards the castle, the two Cabbits that were now under my command followed leaving the others standing in the clearing. I stopped and turned.

“Did you not hear me,” I asked “let’s head back.”

Throughout the land of Equestria the creatures searched, entering the minds and hearts of all the creatures of the land, searching for any information on what carried the light. They finally came upon the land of dragons.

The dragons were a warring race, their ferocity knew almost no bounds, but they didn’t possess the light. They found something similar, though chaotic in nature. They tried attacking it but was met with instant resistance, the creature unzipped the sky and stepped through lie a door but they had its scent they could follow it anywhere and power attracts power. Soon the light would belong to their master.

Azure heard the royal Canterlot voice being used and rushed out the castle with the intent to help but was instantly grabbed by a golden magic, Celestia yawned and walked towards the dark grey mare, though she had partied all night her main and tail was impeccable, and she somehow didn’t reek of alcohol.

“Little pony,” she began “would you like to tell me what is all the commotion, where’s Vreizo and my sister?”

Azure after telling Celestia everything that transpired in the early morning was released from the magical hold. She and Celestia walked out to the back of the castle and was about to go search when through the trees, Vreizo, Luna and fifteen Cabbits walked out. The Cabbits were waking a few spaces behind but they were in deep conversation with Vreizo. Upon seeing the Princess of the sun Luna smiled slyly.

“Sister,” she announced “I have risen thy sun in your stead, I deserve to be praised for a job wonderfully done.”

Celestia chuckled as Luna trotted up to her and stopped directly in front her, with a hoof, Celestia patted Luna on the head.

“Well done Luna,” she said happily “maybe I should take a vacation leave the rising of the sun and moon to you.”

“You should sister,” Luna agreed almost too quickly making Celestia clear her throat as Vreizo and the Cabbits came

“And who might this be?” asked Celestia

“Well-“ began Luna

“They’re my new friends,” Vreizo explained as he passed Celestia and whipped her on the flank with his tails making her welp in surprise, he noticed Luna looking at him with disapproving eyes as Celestia rubbed her flank “Lulu will tell you what happened.”

Azure ran after Vreizo pushing pass the Cabbit’s who followed him in.

“Master?” asked Azure

Azure followed me through the castle we avoided the ponies that were still littered around my castle, we soon arrived at the pantry.

“Open it.” I said

Azure nodded and lit up her horn and the door unlocked, as the door opened we saw the pantry will filled to capacity with food.

“This is yours,” I said turning to the lead Cabbit “whenever you need come to the castle we will let you in for more.”

The Cabbit eyes went wide in visibly surprise and he looked to the pantry and then to me then back to the pantry.

“Go ahead,” I explained “it’s yours, go ahead take whatever you need.”

We watched as the Cabbit’s rushed into the pantry and started to take different foods. With that being handled in turned to the other two Cabbit’s who were standing still.

“Ok so now it’s your turn,” I said, I looked at Azure “these two will be joining our staff, they’ll be working under you from now on.”

Azure blinked and looked at the two of them then back at me “Am I not enough master?” she asked

“Azure,” I began “you are more than enough but, I will never expect you to be alone, these two will be your staff.”

“Okay,” Azure nodded before looking at the two Cabbits “I hope to have a good relationship with you both.”

We left the pantry Azure took the two Cabbits named Aze and Xei to the living quarters. While I went and found the princesses sitting in the living area. Most of the ponies were getting up as well and were preparing to leave; they regarded me with different levels of enthusiasm.

It was when a white unicorn walked up to me and levitated a card over to me. Looking at it I saw it read Pon3 studios. The pony smiled and left.

“Okay,” I began “you’re gonna tell me what happened last night and you’ll tell me now.”

For everyone, who is interested a Cabbit is a hybrid between a cat and a rabbit. They have appeared in fiction and fantasy stories. I hope you all like them they're adorable creatures.
