January 26th, Monday
As I promised, I'm going out to the Everfree Forest after this class ends. I really don't care if I get my coat or mane dirty. I'm just curious. I also want to escape what's probably happening at home. I'm sure I've told you this, probably on previous pages but whatever, I still need to vent.

Speaking of venting, the Everfree Forest looms with a strange smell and overarching eyes. The rigidity foliage brush against my hooves as I trudge through the forest, trying to find what's been staring at me. Soon, I smell a cool breeze as it waves against my mane and thin coat, making me shiver both from discomfort and the feeling of being watched.

I begin to pick up the pace with ambling and breathing as my eyes dart around, scared of what is to come out of the thick trees and bushes. I'm going to find somewhere to rest, hopefully in a safe tree. I'm a long way into the forest.

There's rustling in the trees so I hop down, trying to get a better view of what's lurking in the green. I should really head back home now. The air seems to be new to me. It's nothing like I've ever felt in a while. It's cold.

There are also many flashing lights at the treeline. Are they security? I better steer clear of them.

January 28th, Wednesday
Yesterday, I was told that I was gone for the entire day. That explains all the strange lights at the edge of the Everfree Forest. They were looking for me. My parents must've filed a report or something. It's strange how I didn't realise that there was a new sun as I woke up from that content slumber.

I was twenty minutes late to my first class but I was excused. Yesterday, my first class was learning Early-Modern Pony, y'know when ponies used the words, 'thy' and 'shall' a whole lot. I already knew the fundamentals so I wasn't penalised for a detention or a heavy lecture on why I shouldn't be late to classes.

Everyone was really slow in that class so I just jotted down some notes and stared out onto the fields where I could catch a small part of the Everfree Forest in my sights. It was a good thing that the sun shone on the left side of the classroom too.

I still need to document whatever is in the forest before this month is done. That's a promise. I'll do anything, but I'm running out of space for my book. I'll probably purchase a new one and write everything there once I have full knowledge of what's in there so I can properly document. I won't write on the last page though. I mean, who even writes on the last page?

The forest is nearly the same as always every time I visit. There's no one here except for me and the ghoulish noises that sprout out from the dense green. I will tell you if there's anything in here after I climb out of the woods.

I was so close to writing "There's nothing in here anymore. I think everything's gone to hibernate" but something is definitely in this forest and it's freaking me out. A small was low-sounding bell echoed in the deeper parts of the forest. As I looked over there were those same green orbs that glared straight into my soul. The eerieness combined with the situation made me worse and so I fled, but every time I looked back at the monster it kept coming closer but in ways unimaginable. It was moving whenever I wasn't looking and it seemed to be teleporting. Is that thing a unicorn? Lost alicorn, possibly? Whatever it is, I'm not going into the denser parts unless I'm older or with somepony else.

This only makes me wonder what other things are in that cursed forest. Maybe I should talk with Apple Bloom to have another visit with Zecora or to the library?

The sun's already setting across the horizon, casting a shadow on Twilight's Castle so it's probably time I head home... and away from this forest.

For some off reason, I can sense something staring directly at me and it's not helping that there's no one around me. My writing speed has quickened and my breaths are more ragged and swift. I should stop.

January 29th, Thursday
Two more days until I can move on to another book. January 31st will probably be the longest or shortest page I'll write on but either way, I'll be done with this book, maybe even look back at what I've done in the past as well as some strange writings I've made.

I have been listening to a lot of music lately just to pass time and forget about that terrifying sight in the forest. I'm still trying to figure out what to do or what that thing was. I sure hope it wasn't Zecora; she doesn't have magical abilities, right? She's only used her mouth to combine her herbs and mixtures from what I can recall. Could it be... no. The Changeling Queen? But how come I never heard that sound whenever a creature teleports.

The creature had glowing green eyes though and a dark structure as it neared towards me in the woods. I really hope nightmares don't come forth. Princess Luna could help me in explaining what this is if I do end up with a foul dream. It seemed to be creeping. Some predator I don't know about? If it is, I had the guts to go out there where no one would usually go.

I'm headed to the library after lunch.

For some reason, Button Mash was at the library but he wasn't looking for anything but me. He asked me the same question and I emphasised something in the Everfree Forest since I was desperate to find out what that thing was. He then bolted out of the library, leaving me in a confused state as he bumped into Bon Bon on the way out and chatted with her briefly as I peeked through the windows of the establishment. The duo paid no attention towards me anymore and trotted as a pair. Huh, never thought those two were friends, y'know, since they're aged differently.

Come to think of it, I like talking to stallions and mares than having much enjoyment with colts and fillies, well, besides him and the CMC, I guess. Time to get back to work.

There's literally nothing in these books about this creature. If it is Queen Chrysalis, I should report it... but I could get fined if it's a false accusation. Should I talk to Button Mash?

January 30th, Friday
During classes, I decided to talk to Button Mash. He seems to know something about the forest but refuses to give out the information. He says that it's "top secret". I guess that's reasonable but we've known each other for two years. I need to talk to him more often, at least get some information after this book ends.

Button Mash is actually really useful! He's told me that there's something in the forest that ponies can't find out about. Something about a breakage in the forest? Could it be a magical force letting new creatures into our world? Now I need to find out what that thing is in the woods. But I need help.

I've decided; my second book will have my experiences solely on the Everfree Forest. What I need to do now is set an expedition. I may be young but I've trekked for a while. I think I can do it.
