"CONTACT, TWELVE O' CLOCK!" Said a panicked soldier empty an mag into the direction he was shouting at. He was greeted by a spear into chest. The soldier now pinned to the wall, with the spear sticking into his chest as he slumped over, emotionless.
His helmet fell over, rolling across the ground until it stopped with the lens of Go-pro pointing towards the pinned dead soldier who was staring at the helmet with his, blue, cold, lifeless, eyes. Sounds of shouts and gunfire screamed in the distance, sirens of alert rang through the area.
A black, nimble, hand grasped the spear handle before yanking it out, the body fell to the ground next to helmet, causing it to spin around towards the person who threw the spear. But only to find two hooves was standing there instead of a pair of boots. The hooves stomped pass the helmet and towards the distant gunfire. The screen blacked out indicating that the video was over.
President James has been in office ever since the Mexicans decided to attack us only because they thought the wall that President Trump built was unconstitutional to their people. He leaned back against his chair as Vice President Johnson dared to speak.
"General..." His thick southern accent was clearly heard in the office. "What in the God's middle earth did we saw."
"Well sir." General Zachary replied, his voice grimace for a moment. "That was the latest attack on the Southwest Border but..."
"But what boy." He glanced towards him with a clear expression of curiosity painted on his face. Zachary pulled out a folder before placing it down on the table. James picked up the folder before opening it and began to read its contents. He covered his mouth in sorrow, unable to draw his eyes away from the pictures of the mutilated bodies that was scattered across the ground in contorted ways
"There was...no survivors, sir" He scratched his head.
"My god, how could this happened?" Johnson scoffed as he took a look at the gruesome photos.
"We don't know but we sent a diplomatic party to Mexico City before I arrived." Zachary informed him.
"Did you inform Congress before taking such action General?" Johnson spoken. General Zachary nodded in confirmation. They knew that if they didn't inform Congress about what they we're about to do Congress would've hounded them and possible abort the mission.
"I want a full report on the Diplomatic party once they arrive." He quipped. "Dispatch a team of marines to find whoever cause this god awful bloodbath."
He looked at the photos in sympathy once more before Zachary grabbed the files and put them back into the folder. He gave a small and brief salute before he left.
James sat down once more, letting out a sigh before turning towards Johnson who was pacing back and forth. It was obvious that something was bothering him, actually James too.
Who are they dealing with? What are their motives? How can such people do these things? And most importantly, what in god's giving earth are they?
Two Days Later....
LOCATION: Fort Bliss, Texas.
A man sat down, wiping his head with a wet rag that was wrapped around his now tan neck of where the hot sun was beating down on him. Who is this man? The man in question is 32 year old, Jared Innings. A man who been in the military not once but twice in the row and now the third time since the damn Mexican military decided to attack the U.S.
He fought back against them in the battle for Dallas and he remembers it all too well when he and a handful of marines held against the on going invaders. "10 days in hell..." He once said. He remember how he charged at an invader who thought it was a good idea to empty a bullet in him. On the shoulder to be exact.
"Hey Jared!" He snapped out of his distant memories as he glanced over to see Dean Nikey, an 28 year old marine that he proudly worked with during the battle of Houston. His battled harden face never changed one bit.
"Well well..." Jared grinned at the war torn marine. " Look who it is. The Devil himself."
He got up from the bench before giving the marine a playful pat. They both shared a few jokes and conversations about both old and new events. As they past by a group of Army trainees little did they knew that they were being watched and observed.
A little ways from Jared and Dean was Command Sergeant Major Noah Larson, Commander of the garrison of Fort Bliss. Beside him was Deputy Commander Kenny Rodriguez.
"Corporeal." Kenny spoken in his usual firm voice.
"What is it Rodriguez?" He asked.
"I was informed that the General spoken to you. " Kenny inquired. "You and I both know there might be a possibly that the Mexicans might be-"
"Yes. I know that Kenny but we must consider other possible assailants who cause this attack." Noah advise him. "Remember we are still at war with the Al-Ashtar Brigades and the other Terrorist Organizations."
"I know that but-"He spouted but however was interrupted.
"I do not wish to continue this conversation Deputy." He informed him, quite agitated. "Congress already officiated a diplomatic meeting with Mexico's President at Mexico City and that's that."
Kenny lets out a sigh of defeat, knowing full well that nothing is going to convince him. He turns his back towards him before walking towards Command Central but before doing so, he glances back with a displeased look printed on his face.
"You do know this is a bad idea sir." With that he heads towards the Command Central, leaving Noah by himself.
"...."
"...."
"Dammit..." He cursed.
He turns around before walking to Command Central to join the deputy commander with a twist inside his stomach. While Noah was doing so, Jared and Dean was still chatting but that was until an man in MP Uniform approaches them with a stern look.
"Sergeant Innings, Staff Sergeant Nikey?" The man asked.
"Yes?" Jared informed the man. "What is it?"
"You two are to come with me." The MP dodged his question.
Jared and Dean glanced at each other in curiosity but nevertheless obeyed the MP.
Both Jared and Dean sat down in Command Central Meeting Room. Opposite of them was the Command Sergeant Major and the Deputy Commander.
"Sergeant....Staff Sergeant." Noah addressed them. He cleared his throat before pulling out a document.
"What I'm about to say and show will not leave this room. Got it?" He warned them. They both understood his warning clearly as they nodded.
"Good." He stated. "Due to both of your excellent combat experience and exemplary leadership skills I appointed you both to lead separate team to infiltrate a possible suspect that caused this...."
He pulled out a picture before handing it to Jared. He covered his mouth in disgust and anguish as it was a clear picture of bodies upon bodies of both of staff and U.S soldiers stacked upon the wall. Some are beyond recognition. Some of the heads are misplaced from the body to the neck.
"Jesus Christ." He whispers to himself before handing the gory picture to Dean who had the same results.
"Who in the hell did this?" Dean asked as he hand the picture back to them.
"We still do not know." Kenny replied as he placed the picture into the documentation. He pulls out another file before handing it to Jared.
"But we do have a location."
Jared un-clips the document before pulling out its contents. He examines the contents in details as they spoke.
"Recently in a nearby town, 'Imuris has been attacked by unknown enemy forces." He states. "Our satellites' couldn't reach the position due to some sort of technical malfunction."
"We spoken with Congress about sending a drone to possibly find out what we are dealing." Kenny informed. "Luckily Congress approved of the action."
The Deputy Commander pulled out a small laptop before opening. He got up before walking over to them before placing it down before them.
"This was recorded 15 minutes before you two was informed about current situation we're in." He states before he pressed play.
Jared and Dean watched as a dark cloudy smoke blinded the drone's camera. Once the drone got a clear shot they couldn't believe their eyes. The town itself was destroyed. Most of the buildings was engulf with flames and debris but for some what that wasn't the reason why they were shocked beyond belief. They were shocked when they saw not hundreds but thousands of what they can tell from their studies of Zoology, caribous. But these aren't ordinary caribous that you usually hunt in the woods. These are standing on two legs humanoid caribous.
All of them was crowded in the center of the town. They all chanted an unknown language that almost sounded like gibberish. The only words that they could understand was "Death to" but that was it.
That was until one particular Caribou Humanoid guarded by two very armed Caribous' stepped into view. He stepped onto the truck before shouting towards the chanting Caribous'. They ceased their chanting before looking upon their leader Kenny and Noah noted.
Soon after a few gibberish shouts and chants of the leader of the Caribous' the feed was cut short as the building shook violently. All of them began to panic as the building crumble. The lights above them began to flicker rapidly before shutting off completely, leaving them in the dark. Suddenly the emergency lights kicked in.
"What the hell is going on?" Dean grumbled as he dusted him off.
"Don't know-" Noah was interrupted by the sounds of a very familiar siren in the distance. "God dammit!"
"Sir what is going on?" Jared asked as they all walked with him as he stepped out of the meeting room. They all entered the Command room only to see multiple staffs rushing to their stations.
"We're under attack that's what's going on." Noah stated before one of the Communication Officers stepped into view before them. "Report?"
"Sir we got multiple explosions in section A." She replied. "1st Armored division is currently engaging hostiles."
"Put up Coms with the Commanding General of the division." He imposed. She nodded before quickly getting to work.
Major Ash couldn't really believe anyone if he didn't saw them for himself that is. Most people would declare you crazy and put you in a psych ward if you say you saw an humanoid Bambi running around and killing anyone in sight. Well that is what he saw.
He and a group of his company exchanged shots towards the hostile Caribou humanoids in the main hanger. Ducking behind a crate he glanced left across him to see two armed MP hidden behind a few crates like him. Glancing right was four of his most trusted soldiers. They knew what he was going to do and they completely support it.
"Covering fire!" He shouted before pulling out his HK416, firing some lead towards the oncoming intruders. Some of his bullets had their marks on two hostile intruders. While they were busy with the furry invaders, the two MP made their way towards the Major.
"Thank god you're here Major." One of the MP praised him as the Major reloaded his weapon. "Thought we were done for."
"Well..." He paused, noticing the cease of shouts and shots. He peaked over the crate to see those furry bastards making a run for it. "Hold up."
"Move up!" He imposed before turning towards the MP. "Keep your head down and don't get killed."
With that he joined the rest of his team, leaving the two MP alone.
Major Ash pushed open the main doors with the rest of his team beside him only to meet multiple F-22 Fighter Jets in flames. Astonished yet terrified he keeled down before pulling out his earpiece. He adjusted the earpiece before placing the earpiece on. He soon heard a familiar voice on the intercom.
Echo Niner, do you read me over?
"Solid copy Command." He informed. "Enemy Hostiles cleared in Hanger B. Two E-KIA has been reported over."
Echo Niner, be advise enemy hostiles closing in towards your position.
"Shit!" He cursed. "Copy that Command over and out."
He glanced towards his team before motioning to move out. Without hesitation the group of highly trained soldiers hastily crossed the war torn field. While they were doing so, suddenly a loud crack was heard in the distance before one of his teammates fell to the ground.
"Sniper!" One of them shouted in commotion. They immediately ran towards a large broken down Fighter Jet in seek of shelter against the sniper fire. He let out a yelp of pain as a stinging sensation erupted from his leg. He limped his way towards the broken down Jet before collapsing down behind the Jet. Letting out a hiss he began to examine his injured leg.
"Fucking dammit." He said as he saw his own crimson blood dripping from the bullet wound.
"Sir are you okay?" One of them asked in sincerity.
"Does it look like I'm okay!" He hissed in anguish. " Well don't stand there. Do something!"
The young soldier jumped to the sound of his cries of anger before pulling out his medical supplies. While the young soldier was tending Major Ash's wound; one of the others peaked his head to barely just barely see in the distance a glare of light before seeing the muzzle of the sniper flash. His eyes widen in surprise before quickly ducking as the a bullet grazed his helmet.
The soldier is none other than Watson Smith, a self-promoting private who not only has a perceptive eye for his surroundings but also a very excellent marksman some could say. Not much could say about Watson
20 kilometers. Judging the distance of the user and possible the weapon which is most likely a Dragunov SAV which is a self loading rifle, the user of a unreliable weapon in such much distance must be clever or stupid.
He pulled out a large bag before placing it on the ground. Unzipping the large duffel bag he pulled out a M110 Semi Automatic Sniper Rifle. His personal baby you could say.
"Do you see em'?" Asked the soldier beside him.
"...." Watson took position below the wrecked Jet Fighter between two gaps. He took a steady breath before looking through the small slit of the muzzle. He notices a small glare of light in the distance on top of one of the guard tower. Another crack ranged through the air and after that a scream of pain was heard before another shot silenced the cries. Without doubt he knew that this is the sniper and now he sealed his fate!
Without any hesitation, without any remorse he pulled the trigger. His shot rang around him before he reloaded his rifle. He took another breath before looking into his scope. He notices that the glaring scope of the sniper cease and all that remains is the now lonely tower.
A little ways from the team lies a caribou corpse with a bullet lodged into his skull. A rifle lies next to the caribou corpse as one of the hands twitches involuntary.
"Hostile eliminated..." Watson commented before picking up his rifle. He placed his rifle into his duffel bag where it rightfully belongs before glancing to the Major who still is being treated.
"Good work." He praised him before letting out a strained grunt as he got up, using the butt of his gun to support him. "Now we better move get movin' before those furry bastards get here."
WHITE HOUSE: 2 hours later
The Chef of Staff rushes past a few secret service men before entering the Oval Office. President James was talking to the Secretary Of State until he notices him standing there.
"Thank you Jimmy, that will be all." He said in gratitude. The Secretary walks past the Chef of Staff before exiting the Oval office.
"Sorry for interrupting Mr. President but this is important." He spoken with great haste. "I've just received an urgent message from Fort Bliss."
"What is it?" He asked in curiosity.
"Its....under attack." The Chef of Staff hesitatingly said.
"Wh-" He was interrupted by General Zachary.
"Sir, The United States is under attack!" He warned before pulling out a tablet that read 'warning' on it. "I've got multiple reports of unknown hostile forces currently sieging Fort Lancaster, Fort Brown, Fort Saint Louis, Fort Teran, and Fort Bliss."
"Any description of the enemy?" The President asked in clearly a state of panic.
"From what the description that I've gather is rather strange sir," He admitted. "The soldiers are dubbing their name as "Caribou" due to their characteristic appearance."
He stared at him for a moment before letting out a distraught sigh. He glances over to the chef of staff, noting his nod of consideration.
"Are you saying we're being attacked by a bunch of walking, talking animals?" He battered in disbelief.
"Sir, I'm saying that we are under attack by something we didn't even considered possible." He spoken in a firm tone. "What's your command?"
He rubbed his temple in complete distress before glancing towards General Zachary and the Chef Of Staff.
"I think this is the most suitable solution for this situation." He sat down on his chair before pulling out a folder that contains documents of the incident. He glares at it before glancing towards the General with a firm expression. "Send the report to Congress about this situation."
"Yes Mr President." He grabs the folder before exiting the Oval Office. He turns to The Chef of Staff.
"Before you go, tell the Speechwriter to appoint an speech about this incident. I'm sure the Press would like a explanation about these attacks."
"Of course Mr President." He turns to leave. After he left James lets out a sigh before rubbing his face in complete woe. These last couple of days has been a mess. First an unknown massacre by an unknown enemy then Congress complaining about riots all across the country and now multiple attacks on some of our most heavily fortified stations in Texas. Why can't something good for once happen?
Suddenly he heard a knock on the door. He turned his attention before calling who ever is at the door to come in. The door opens to reveal Chairman Brown.
"Mr President,." He addressed him. "Sir I got word from the Diplomatic party."
"Well what is it?" He quickly got up from is chair in surprise.
"They came with an agreement with the President of Mexico." He exclaimed.
President James paced back and forth as Chairman Brown explained him the terms between the armistice. He must agree that these 'Caribou' are a problem to both of nations and they must be stopped. Not only that this could be a perfect time to introduce 'Project 'O Armor' to the world but to remove U.S soldiers from the gulf, he guesses the gulf will be fine without their help.
"Okay," He finally agrees. With that the chairman nods before leaving the Oval Office to the President.
After two days of constant arguing between the Senate about trusting the Mexicans and dealing with the unknown threat dubbed the Caribou. The agreement finally come to a conclusion. Until the threat of the Caribou has resolved, both nations has formed a Ceasefire.
