Chapter 1: Butterfly Catching
“I can’t thank you enough for this, Fluttershy.” Rarity thanked sincerely as she walked into her large bedroom, using her magic to close the door to her bed chamber. “I can’t thank you enough for helping me with my… predicament.”
The white mare’s blue magical aura already held a gold key in her magical aura which was quickly maneuvered over to the closed door. Finding the lock with incredible precision, the key twisted in an anti-clockwise rotation, locking the door with an audible click. Rarity released a moaned sigh of relief as her magic yanked the key from the lock, transporting it across the room before setting it down on her work desk nestled between rolls of assorted fabrics and her trusty sewing machine.
“Dear Celestia, I am positively drained!” the well-groomed mare exclaimed aloud, more to herself than her Pegasus friend. Projects had come thick and fast for the mare over the last few weeks, requiring her to dig deep and allocate all of her spare time to making sure that they were completed for their deadlines. Needless to say, she was exhausted.
The mare smiled warmly as she watched the nature-loving mare sat, forehooves resting neatly upon her legs as she sat upon the unicorn’s four poster double bed. It was the first time in a while that there were no outstanding projects requiring attention, so she decided that she would take the time to enjoy herself. However, the pegasus’ body language also gave Rarity cause for concern. The pink mare appeared nervous, fidgeting with her hooves relentlessly, signalling that she was not comfortable with the current situation. Rarity took that fact personally, what they were planning to do required trust and a want, anything less was unacceptable! Perhaps the Pegasus needed relaxing a little bit?
“I feel in need of a holiday. What say you, Darling?” Rarity asked in her usual formal manner.
Fluttershy was indeed nervous, her teal eyes closely regarding her purple maned friend as she sauntered over to the bed. In fairness, she had a right to be. She was still torn about the conversation they had shared only yesterday, a dialogue that she had been sworn to secrecy about, a plan that would sate both of the mare’s need to mate with a stallion until their respective estrous cycles ended.
At first, the mare had refused as it wasn’t something that she was comfortable with, Rarity was her friend and to engage in a sexual relationship could end up making things awkward. But, the white mare insisted, making it clear that the act would be kept a secret – “It will make sure that we won’t feel the need to be ravaged by a brute of a stallion – we’re far too young to be baring foals.”.
Fluttershy went on to conceded that the unicorn was right – to some degree – she didn’t want to have foals at her age and she also didn’t want to spend a month isolated in her home while her withers ached with an unbearable need. Eventually, she accepted the offer – the entire reason she was now in her friend’s bedroom.
“O-oh, it’s very tempting, Rarity,” Fluttershy’s voice stammered into life, genuine and warm in tone, but also meek and devoid of confidence. “but, I couldn’t leave my animals on their own for so long – they’d think I had abandoned them.”
Rarity nodded knowingly, already mentally prepared to handle the pegasus’ issue with leaving her animal friends in the hooves of “strangers” when in fact they could be cared for by qualified people who probably understood them better than she did. She would never actually say that to the mare’s face, but it was still the truth. “Come now, Fluttershy. All girls need time to relax and recuperate, that includes you.”
“I-I know, but I just don’t want to leave them though – they’re my friends…” The cream-yellow mare murmured, looking down and fixating on her fidgeting hooves, not even acknowledging the unicorn as she took a seat beside her on the bed.
Rarity released another contented groan as her flanks squished against the red satin sheets that lined the duvet and pillow cases of her bed, moulding to the round shape of her pert ass. She was able to see where Fluttershy was coming from, no one wants to leave their family, even if it is for a short time. Staying true to the pegasus’ nature, she would tailor her response in a manner that wouldn’t overload her friend with too much personal information.

The one thing that had kept pegasus from backing out was a feeling of obligation to one’s friend. The mare didn’t even want to think about the ramifications of betraying her friends trust. “I don’t want to disappoint you-“

The white mare couldn’t believe that she had put her friend into a position where she felt almost blackmailed. It wasn’t intentional, she thought that the pegasus wouldn’t have word to say against it, Fluttershy agreed after all. However, this was Fluttershy she was talking about, a mare known to suffer in silence and not trouble anyone with her problems, that fact alone should have made her more conscious about how the mare was truly feeling. “If anything, I’d be prouder of you for expressing your feelings to me.”
“R-really?” Fluttershy stammered, watching with wide eyes as her white friend pulled her hind legs off of the carpet and up onto the bed before moving to rest on her haunches. “I think… I want to do it – I’m just nervous…”
“Don’t be…” the mare said softly, awkwardly sliding her knees over the smooth satin to get closer to the mare. With her body facing perpendicular to Fluttershy's’, Rarity moved her forehooves to touch the mare’s soft yellow fur, every touch feeling electric as she glided her hooves up the left foreleg and down the small of the mare’s back. “I’ll take care of you, just let yourself go a little bit… Relax.”
Fluttershy shuddered, unsuspecting as her friend whispered the last part of her sentence directly into her ear, moving her hooves to wrap them around the yellow fur of her neck. The mare was frozen to the spot as Rarity pulled her head into the white fur of her chest, cradling her head with the same care and loving affection she would show any of her lovers. Although, still nervous about the entire ordeal, the pink maned mare wasn’t scared of the unicorn who held her. Rarity was one of her closest and longest friends and with that friendship came trust, safe in the knowledge that she would always be looked after.
And even though she made no attempts to move or reciprocate the mares advances, she refused to voice complaints or anymore of her apprehensions because, deep down, Fluttershy did want this and Rarity was right – sometimes, she just needed to relax. Thus, the pegasus allowed her friend to cuddle and cradle her, feeling more and more comfortable as unicorn’s soft white body tickled and supported the Fluttershy’s own.
