Prologue: The Campfire Tale
Well then friends, make yourselves Comfortable by the campfire...roast some marshmallows if ya got em. I haven't the foggiest idea how none of ya have heard of the four, but the story goes something like this. A long while ago, before time was relevant, there was nothing...a big black void. In this void lived four entities, one made of fire, one made of ice, one made of pure light, and one made of pure darkness. To make things simpler, I'll name em for ya. Pyrotechnic Flame, Frost Moth, Harmonious Melody, and Discordant Tune. They had grown bored of the void, and it's sameness, so they set out to decorate it. Pyrotechnic Flame and Frost Moth made the stars, moon, and our planet by combining their elements. Harmonious Melody made the Sun and day, and brought life to our planet...with the help of the elemental twins of course. They made oceans, rivers, forests, grass, the whole nine yards...however, Harmonious Melody was not done yet, with the help of Discordant Tune she made Gryphons, Minotaurs, Seaponies, almost every living being you know of today. Hmmm....What were their genders?.......OUT OF ALL THE QUESTIONS, YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT GENDERS FOUR OMNIPOTENT BEINGS WERE??? I like your style. Pyrotechnic Flame was a stallion, Frost Moth was a mare, Harmonious Melody was a mare, and Discordant Tune was a stallion. What were their relationships? Pyrotechnic Flame and Frost Moth were twin siblings, and friends with Discordant Tune and Harmonious Melody. Harmonious Melody was married to Discordant Tune.
Then, after making them, they gave them sentience. They got a gift as well. The Seaponies received control over all of the seas, which is why they are blamed for Tsunamis. The Gryphons received unwavering courage, which made them fierce warriors and hunters. Unicorns received Magic, of course. Pegasi received control over weather. Earthponies received immense strength. Minotaurs received the knowledge of crafts, making them the best masons, smithys, and carpenters ever known. Zebras received knowledge of alchemy, making them the best elixir and potion brewers around. Now, onto...wait, what? Repeat that please. Haven't I missed a couple species? No, I went over all of the pre-shadow war species. What was the shadow war? Hehehe...spoilers. What species am I? I'm a Kirin, and before you ask yes I am a post-shadow war species. Who was I made by? Again, spoilers. Now, cut it with the questions for now. I have a story to tell, and a finite amount of time to tell it.
Discordant Tune made shadows for all they created, as a method to cool down the living beings that he had helped Harmonious Melody create. Lastly, they created time...and for a while, there was no evil. But, unfortunately, a hatred started to brew in Discordant Tune's heart. Harmonious Melody had once been his, had once spent all her time with her...and now she spent her every waking moment with us. He began to despise us, and one day he made beings of pure darkness to exterminate us. He made us know pain, hunger, sadness, feelings we never knew beforehoof. What he did saddened Harmonious Tune, but angered the Elemental Twins. Pyrotechnic Flame gave us his knowledge of metal working and masonry, and with that we made weapons and walls to protect us from the monsters that hunted us. Frost Moth gave us her knowledge of healing, and farming, which helped us feed ourselves and ease the pain of those injured. A little over a year into what was named the Shadow War the Elemental Twins took up fighting with us, making themselves physical forms. Harmonious Melody tried to reason with Discordant Tune, but to no avail. Discordant Tune also took physical form...becoming a being of pure chaos...he soon went insane, forgetting what he once was. What were their forms? Well Pyrotechnic Flame made his a Kirin, combining the Flaming aspect of Discordant Tunes dragons with the cuddly aspect of a pony. Frost Moth made hers a Kirin as well, replacing the fire aspect with frost. Discordant Tune was twisted, different parts of different creatures. Like someone hit random in a pony building machine.
Years later, the war between the Elemental Twins and the one now known as Discord was in full effect. During this time, all anyone knew was war. Brothers and sisters in arms lay dead or dying at the claws of Manticores, Timberwolves, and many other creatures of the shadow. All the while, Harmonious Melody wept...for the loss of her lover, and the death of her creations. She decided to Imbue her power in six gems, and selected two mares to take up the mantle of Harmony. The gems, if used together, would banish or imprison any evil their magic touched. The two downsides, however, was that no living thing could hold their power without the assistance of another...unless they were one of the four. And the power of the gems could only imprison something for around a hundred years. Finally, with what strength she had left, she made the gems semi-sentient...and with that final action, she fell to the earth. Where she crashed, a tree of pure crystal grew.
I'm sorry what? Was she dead? Oh no no no, She was not dead, no...merely resting. You see, it is speculated that the four were something known as Celestial Beings...They cannot really die, only go dormant for long periods of time. I'm sorry, could you repeat that? How do I know so much? Well, let's just say I have some experience and leave it at that. Who am I? Well my sis calls me Pyro, so I guess you can call me that. Well, it was nice talking to y'all, but I must be heading home...fireworks don't make themselves! But, before I go...I have just one fair word of warning. Don't eat gas station sushi. Ya got that? Yes? Good, take care you lot!
Pov: Pyro
"Hey sis, the Ponyville Portal operational?"
"Yeah, but I'm getting a lot of magical interference...never seen anything like this except for, well, back then."
"Well, I'm heading there to drop of a shipment of fireworks anyways...why don't we drop in and see what's up?"
"Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes so much yes! I haven't had a good fight in nearly a century!"
"Don't expect one. Odds are it's a unicorn with no idea what it's doing."
"Yeah....still, a gal can hope."
Chapter 1: The Intervention
POV: Pyro
We entered the portal, and after a brief struggle with a barrier, we were in Ponyville. Well, Ponyville with added glass fishbowl and Shadow magic traces.
"Hey sis?" I asked
"Yeah bro? She asked
"Which object do ya think did this?"
"One of the elements of shadow is my best guess." She replied " They are the only things I know of that leave this much Shadow magic floating around."
"Any guess as to which one?" I ask
"Power? Yeah, definitely power." She replied, uncertain
"You mean the one that blue unicorn who looks to be dueling the purple unicorn is wearing?" I ask
She looks at aforementioned unicorn, and nods
"Lets go introduce ourselves before it clouds her mind fully." I said before amplifying my voice "Attention Idiot, Remove the Amulet from your neck or risk termination!"
"What my brother means is surrender peacefully or be pacified by force." My sister said with an annoyed tone
"You think you can beat the Great and Powerful Trixie?"
"Go Elemental, I hate fighting her creations." I say to my sister, before bursting into pure flames. She became pure frost shortly after "We are Flame, and Frost. We have fought stronger than you and they were the ones that lost. We recommend you surrender, please retire...else the consequences may be quite dire."
Trixie hesitated, then shot a powerful beam of magic straight into my sisters chest. Had she been a weaker being, like an Alicorn or a Hydra, she would have been sent flying. However, all she did was flinch.
"I thought that would be stronger." She said, looking quite confused
"Our turn." I said. "Cyclone Tactic?" I ask
"Might as well, won't hurt her." Frost Replies
I nodded, then started running around Trixie in a circle. Gradually I picked up the pace, slowly starting a Fiery Tornado. Trixie, of course, caught on quick. She attempted to knock my legs out from under me, but sadly she found all of her attempts blocked by ice that conveniently grew from the ground to cover me. She then attempted to flee the Tornado, but was blocked by the fish bowl. A few minutes later I stopped running, as she had passed out from lack of oxygen. Now there were only two problems. The ponies surrounding us that may or may not be under some mind control spell problem, and the 'how are we going to get this off of her without serious nervous system and mana retention damage' problem.
"Bro, question."
"Yeah?"
"How do you propose we diffuse the tension here?"
"Use our charming personalities, and destroying the barrier." I said "Start pounding the top with everything you have, and I'll join you." I said
"You and I both know it's made of magic, not glass." She said
"Shouldn't it have dissipated when she got K.O.ed?"
"Disharmony does not follow the same rules as Harmony. We could try a shield-breaker spell." She said.
"Could work...but an incantation would break it faster." I said. Unbeknownst to both of us, a group of six mares were trying to get our attention.
"True, but which one?"
"HEY!"
"Yes Rainbow Dash, what in Harmony's name do you want?"
"...How do you know my name?" She asked
"You are one of the mares that used the Elements to defeat Nightmare Moon a second time, why would I not know your name?" I asked
"Oh...well...I..."
"What she is trying to say is 'Who are you and what kind of magic was that'?"
"I'm Frost, and this is my brother Pyro. I cannot tell you what kind of magic that was." My sis said
"Now, if you'll excuse us, we have a barrier to brake." I said, tuning them out again and my sister doing the same. A few moments later, we both started to chant.
"daguami geou ti stand, ti persvek wer donoap di harmony, daguami geou ti stand, ti persvek wer donoap di harmony, daguami geou ti stand, ti persvek wer donoap di harmony! and pop went the barrier.
"We should vacate the area before Celestia shows up."
"Yep...but first, WHO HERE IS PINKIE PIE?"
"I AM!"
"YOUR FIREWORKS WILL BE DELIVERED IN AN HOUR!"
"OKAY!"
"Now that you have settled that, can we go?"
"Yeah...fine."

And with that she sent them back to their little cave, never to be heard from again...nah I'm just kidding this story is far from over. Hope you enjoy this Half-assed chapter, I am not dead yet...but I have to use the computers at my local library so due to my house losing all power. We should have it back soon, but don't expect me to be online and working as often. So, see you all later. BYE!
