Twilight Sparkle, is Dead.
Chapter 1- Rise and Shine
Why is everything so cold? Twilight asked her self as she reached for a blanket but there was nothing to grab, she hissed as she curled up trying to warm herself but the cold feeling on her fur was making it more difficult to sleep. "Spike..." She groaned. "Can you pass me a blanket please!?" No answer. "Spike?!" Again no answer, Twilight groaned as she stood up, opening her eyes which slowly began to widen as she looked around and saw nothing but darkness. She was in her bed still but was not in her room, she was nowhere. The area was just dark, no color, silence. "H-hello?" Twilight called out scarcely. "W-where am I?"
Ah, now that's a question I hear every time a pony like you shows up. It is simple you see, you're dead your highness D.E.A.D!
"Dead? But that's impossible, I'm an alicorn, I'm immortal!" Twilight protested.
That's not what your soul says... you're in my realm your highness and here, things change and--
The voice seemed to be cut off somehow, a noise that sounded like a malfunctioning machine could be heard echoing through the place she was in. Before Twilight could question there was a loud noise, white noise. Twilight covered her ears trying to block out the sound, which soon ended quickly. She was more confused than ever, this had to be a prank, maybe this was Rainbow's idea. "Damn it!" A stallion voice yelled in the darkness. "I spend a good amount of souls on this damn thing and it keeps breaking!" Twilight used her magic to brighten up the area around, no matter how far she shined the darkness seemed to continue on forever, even under her hooves there was nothing but darkness.
Twilight soon heard steps approach her, becoming defensive she charged up a spell. "W-who's there! Show yourself!" She ordered.
A stallion in a black hooded robe approaches the princess, which made Twilight's heart sink. The spell she had prepared soon lost it's 'spark,' leaving Twilight defenseless. The stallion had to be a unicorn as he held what looked like a microphone, seeming to be modified to change the voice of the user. That probably would explain a lot and only proved Twilight's theory that this was some sort of sick joke. She frowned. "Who, are you!? As the Princess of Friendship, I order you to tell me what's going on or else!" Twilight hissed.
The Stallion pulled back his hood to reveal he was skinless. His whole body was completely exposed, nothing but the bones inside of a pony, walking and talking. The "stallion" looked at Twilight, giving her a skeletal smile. "Hi." He said nicely. "You know over my years, I never thought I would see the day an alicorn would be coming back down here."
"W-wha...w-who are you?!" She asked confused.
"My name is Reaper, Grim Reaper. And welcome to the afterlife." Grim waved a hoof around him, revealing nothing but darkness. He looked back at the princess and smiled. "That's right your highness, you're dead."
"What do you mean I'm dead!? I'm an alicorn, I'm immortal!" She hissed.
"Yes you are, but here's the catch, you really aren't. You see, you were born a unicorn, and when Celestia turned you into an alicorn, she just placed wings on you. You still have a body of a normal pony, so you're free to die whenever, where ever." Grim said.
"B-but what about Flurry!?"
"She, like Cadence, Luna, Celestia, and even Chrysalis are immortal as they were born as alicorns. Granted Chrysalis is a changeling but we had several moments where some of her family members bit the dust while others were kept alive with some sort of restoration spell." Grim answered, but shook off the subject. "But don't fret your highness or should I just call Twilight? It's all the same really."
Twilight grabbed her head as he was confused on what was going on. She, dead. The Princess of Friendship, taking down dangerous foes with her friends, had been killed by something. She looked over to Grim. "How did I die?" Twilight asked.
Grim clapped his hooves as a sheet of paper appeared from thin air, the sheet of paper floated in Grim's face before he began to skim the paper for Twilight's name. When he found it, he snickered, offending the alicorn. Twilight gave Grim a cold stare, who snickered awkwardly, which soon stopped. "Sorry, it's just... your death isn't unusual but it's something..." Grim said.
"Well? What happened?" Twilight asked, her patients had been lost.
"You had a blood clot in your right hind hoof, too much sitting around reading wasn't healthy for you. Died in your sleep." Grim said as the paper vanished. "Sorry your highness, but at least you didn't die why while having sex, I mean seriously, you wouldn't believe how many times ponies have come down here, because their orgasm was so powerful that it made them have a heart attack."
Twilight facehoofed before letting out a growl. "This can't be happening. I need to get back, there has to be a way to get back."
"Wow, you're persistent I'll give you that. But unfortunately, there is no physical way nor a magical way for you to escape this place. Many have tried but all have failed. Now their souls are lost in the Void." Grim let's out a hoof before a bright portal appeared in front of the two. "Please, follow me through the portal."
Twilight was, of course, hesitant to not do what Grim told her, she began to step back from the pony before she fell off what felt like the edge of the world. The light from the portal slowly began to fade away, she used her wings to fly but they didn't work, they didn't move as she wanted to and now she falling helplessly through this dark emptiness. But then, there was a light, bright, and it grew closer and closer as Twilight fell through the dark void. The darkness around her soon began to be covered by white, the bright light blinding Twilight forcing the mare to close her eyes as she was now in another endless void...
