//-------------------------------------------------------// The ems -by Senko_wermacht_division- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The start of a new begging //-------------------------------------------------------// The start of a new begging Consider the fact that every single year, in New York City, over 1,500 ambulances are involved in some sort of wreck, leading to the injuries of over 600 medical personnel. It stands to reason that driving an ambulance in New York City would be quite a frustrating job to have. And being an ambulance driver yourself, you'd know that firsthand. Your name is Chris, you're 22 years old, and you're just a week out of college. You've been driving your Pro-MED-24 for a good four days, making you a mere rookie. A call comes in, there's been a car crash on 22nd Street, and you've been dispatched to respond to it. So, you hurry up, put on your hat, and head out the front door to your ambulance. You pull out of the parking lot and pull onto the highway, sirens blaring. White and yellow lights flashing about the ambulance. You turn onto 22nd Street, but you come to an intersection and look out the left side window to see a semi-truck inches away from hitting the ambulance. You have a flashback to where you were heading to an overdose call. You remember that exact day. "Yo, 24, there's an overdose call!" You hear the dispatcher say. "I'm on it." You reply. You slam on the gas and turn the sirens on while you're speeding down the highway. You get to the house in under 5 minutes, and it's a two-story house made of bricks. You jump out with Alex and rush inside to see a mother with her 17-year-old son; In her hands, no signs of life. You check for a pulse and say, "We got no pulse, Alex. Get me the defibrillator." He nods and runs out the door and comes back in a second later with the defibrillator. You put the electro pads to his chest and shout. "CLEAR!!" And the defib-unit worked its magic. You get a pulse, and rush back to the hospital. Your mind races back to the present. You see that this is a mack truck, carrying a tanker full of fuel. You hear the crunching of the mack truck hitting your ambulance, and seconds later, there is a blinding flash of light and the sound of a faint explosion. All you see is black, until you see the faint glow of white. You hear what seems to be birds chirping. You wake up inside your ambulance, but the cab is still intact. Not a scratch. It's very confusing. Well, you wake up in what seems to be an alley-way. You look around. Alex is in back, snoozing. "Must have been a bad dream." Then, you hear screams and see bright flashes of light you look to your left to see rescue. One. How the heck? But we were in Ohio, not New York! You see horses. What in SpongeBob's name? You wake up Alex with a yell and he says, "Oohhhh...What time is it Chris?" You ignore him, beep twice, and wake up the Rescue One driver. He rolls down his window. "How in the world did I end up in an ally way?" "Dude, we have a problem! " You see carnage everywhere. You turn on the engine, roll out of the ally way, and Rescue One follows. You stop when you see a collapsed building. You hop out and check for survivors. You see a hoof, move aside rubble, and pull out a pony. She's alive! When she sees you, she screams and runs off. Well, it's sad to say, it looks like there's no more survivors. You start to have another flashback; back to when you were a kid, and you shot your first gun. "Wow! It's so loud!" You and your dad laughed. "Well, Son, it's gonna be loud with gunpowder." You two walk back to the house and see Mom on the porch. "Hi, you two, it's time for dinner." You rush inside to see Mom's turkey casserole. You return back to the present to see rubble shift and hear cries for help. "Rescue One, get the winch!" You run into the fire truck, grab a portable pully winch, and start to lift up a big rock. You spot 5 ponies, all with happy faces, they see their rescuers and say, "Thank you!" a blue unicorn says. "No problem, it's our job!" You get all 5 out and set up a tent that says "Red Cross." Then, you hear a faint sound of a helicopter. It's a rescue Huey! You run back to your truck, grab a flare, and place it on the ground. The Huey then changes direction and lands right next to you. A ladder truck shows up. "Ladder 45, wow!" you think about all the help. The Heli lifts up, then scouts a building fire. You all pack up, then head in that direction. You spot the fire and see two pumpers, already there. Your group stops to help out. The fire was extinguished quickly. You all see a castle and head that way. You didn't know where you were, but the one thing still remains, protect and serve. The Huey was, now, scouting above the rooftops. When you and your convoy reach the castle, you all stop and look around. You see ponies wearing armor, wounded. Your paramedic training kicked in and you rush over to one of the injured. You get no pulse, so, instead, you grab your defibrillator out of your pack and shout, "CLEAR!! …. He's got a pulse." You shout some more and pony comes in and takes him away to a hospital. You assume they're intelligent. Now that you have time to think, "How do they exist? Little pastel colored ponies. They shouldn't exist!" But you ponder, it'll be a question for another day. Today, you helped a lot of people, or in this case ponies. You helped save lives and that's all that matters.
