Babs and Pip sat at the blackjack table, killing time in a Marisian casino. It had been almost two weeks since the two geography undergraduates had found those strange crystals while exploring that gemstone mine as part of their geology course. The dealer noticed them looking up at it and shook his head. “Ah. You heard about those stories, right? Supposedly there’s a pair of giant creatures out there, squishing ponies.” He shook his head. “It’s crazy right? I hope they give those dragons a stern talking to.”
“Ah yeah, quite the bummer.” Babs chuckled and downed some more wine, gazing upon her handiwork on the TV.
“Yeah, it’s scary to think about.” Said Diamond. “Though I do have to compliment them for staying in the rural areas.” She laughed, just as unsympathetic to the ponies who had been killed as she was Pip and Babs’ classmates. “Those backwater fools got what they had coming.”

“Well, it doesn’t matter.” The dealer sighed. “Sooner or later they’re going to get themselves caught. Princess Ember is looking into the manner.”
