12 Mares, One Team

"Adam. Would you mind getting me a cup of coffee?" asked the man. "My favorite show is coming on."

"Yes Mr. Stern." said the other.

The first man was none other than David Stern, the commissioner of the National Basketball Association. The other man was the deputy commissioner, Adam Silver.

"Thank you." said Mr. Stern.

Adam went to go fetch the cup of coffee. When he came back, he couldn't believe what Mr. Stern was watching.

"M-M-Mr. Stern..." Adam said confusingly, "I-I-Is that... My Little Pony??"

Mr. Stern looked back at Adam and said, "Yeah. So?"

All of a sudden, an idea hit him. "Adam, aren't the people next door researching something about transportation devices?"

"Yeah, why?" Adam asked.

"And you remember that old Sonics franchise that got replaced by the Thunder and we wanted to bring back but were afraid to mess with the OKC fans?"

"Yeah."

"Well, I think i found our new players for the SuperSonics franchise to be revived." Stern said. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Draft more foreign players?" Adam asked.

"No," said Stern, "Why do that when there are twelve people in another universe that are up for anything?"

"Wait you're not saying-"

"PONIES!!!!" Stern yelled.

"Oh my god" sighed Adam. "You're not serious are you?"

"I've never been more serious in my life!" Stern said. "Now come on, let's go!"

Adam sighed again, "Ugh. I better get extra for this."

They made their way to the research lab next to their office. To their surprise the transportation device was finished, but never has been tested. David Stern got permission to go into the lab to test the machine out.

"Alright. Let's test this baby out." Stern said pulling out a rolled up piece of paper.

"What is that?" asked Adam.

"It's a letter to Twilight Sparkle." said Stern.

"Who?" asked Adam, confused.

"I'll explain later. Now to send the letter"

David Stern set the destination to "The Library, Ponyville, Equestria." and put the letter in the machine, hoping it would go through and end up in Ponyville.

Ponyville, Equestria

It was mid-day in Ponyville. Twilight was sitting on a couch reading a book, when all of a sudden, Spike belched up a letter. Twilight looked at it for a minute, then decided to open it. It read:

Dear Twilight Sparkle,

Let me start of by saying I'm a huge fan of you and your friends. But anyway, to the point.

I'm David Stern from Earth. I am the commissioner of the National Basketball Association. I'm pretty sure you know what basketball is, judging by all the books you read. Well anyway, I'm sending you an invitation to the human world to play basketball for the Seattle SuperSonics in the NBA. Now of course you won't be alone. I'm wanting you to bring you and your five other friends, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Lyra, Bon Bon, and Colgate along with you.

Now for how you'll get here, I'm pretty sure you can figure it out. I mean, you are a magical unicorn after all. I'm pretty sure you can fix up a portal to get here.

So, that's basically it. I hope you can make it.

Twilight didn't know what to say. She was both excited and confused at the situation. She then decided, "Eh, what'll it hurt?"
