Chapter 4- Solar decisions and deepest regret

Canterlot castle, Day court
I scowled at the two nobles who bickered infront of me. one wanted to buy the others worthless property, but the other one didn't want to give it up.
"Princess I humbly ask that you allow the purchase of..."
"Shut your mouth! You cretin, her majesty would never agree to such a thing." I sighed and rubbed my head.
"Don't be absurd, I have more right to the land than you."
"Why you little..."
"SILENCE!" I shouted in a booming force which silenced both of the prattling nobles. Who cowered slightly in my stern gaze. I rubbed my head hoping to quell the growing migraine that was starting to form.
"I shall consider both your cases, but for now please leave as there are other courtiers to attend with." Both quickly bowed and scurried away allowing me to breath a sigh of relief. As I sorted through the many problems of my subjects. I noticed lord Fancypants, my niece Bluebelle and an apple from Appleoosa. I felt my head pound some more as I knew what they would try to partition for. The equal rights and privileges for the human population. Sadly I cannot grant such a thing.
As the line grew thinner and thinner, the soon to be escalated discussion made me wish day court was over. As the last pony infront of Fancypants. Moved away after I helped him figure out a small irrigation problem with the cloudsdale weather corp.
Fancy with the apple and my niece in toe marched straight up to stand in-front of my throne.
"Your majesty I have come to aid in acknowledging the petition made by the earth pony community." He and the other two bowed which I curtly nodded back in reply. But my head was now in a whirl of thoughts. "The earth ponies formed a petition." I rubbed my cheek in thought and when they raise their heads I gestured for fancy to continue.
"Your highness, the vast majority of the earth pony especially those of the great and noble apple family." He nodded toward the earth pony stallion with lightish orange tan fur. With dirty blonde and orange fur coloration with a leather cowboy hat, brown leather vest, and dark cloth pants.
"This petition is the full serf slave rights of the human population and the freedom of all rights and property to them." I was shocked to hear this. "Here is the petition your majesty." He handed me the bill which stated as much the general idea, but with a few interesting bits. Land that noble houses use to mine, timber or farm be allocated to the humans as recompense for all mistreatment.
I sighed as I knew I couldn't allow such a petition to pass especially. Since the nobility control some of the most lucrative parts of the economy and would surely plunge it into a recession. To make it even worse humans form the vast labor back bone of the equestrian economy. If the labor suddenly disappeared or leave the work put upon them and cut out a small state that would threaten. My great empire, so large and rich in resources. cannot replace the vast labor force that the humans have. She can't force the diamond dogs to work for her as she had in her hubris massacred, most of their packs and those who survived flocked to other packs and went into hiding. Then she thought about the........Changeling wars...or in the surviving changelings history, The great betrayal and slaughter.
"Auntie please, accept the deal." My niece shook me from my inner debates and looked at me with plead-full eyes. She always had loving nature towards humans. Not surprised by this I remember her beloved tutor a human woman, who taught her proper etiquette and basic noble studies. She died after a riot that was caused by one of the nobles trying to take a young girl as a mistress/slave.
I looked at her and frowned, I tore the petition up surprising both Fancy, my niece and the earth pony. Before they could voice an argument I signaled my guards and watched them be taken out of the throne room. Angry and disappointed. After they had left the doors to my throne room open up and a unicorn mare in a white lab coat walks in. The mare had white fur coat and a black mane with strips of white hair running through it. she had a modest body figure and could still woo young stallions, but she strangely refused any stallions advances.
"Aw, doctor I trust you have good new." The mares face scrunched.
'No, your highness all chromosome tests have shown that the male produce chromosome is become more and more rare." She shuffled and looked at me. "From what I have discovered it would appear that the pony gene is.......Faulty to the point that it'll be near impossible to breed stallions."
I slumped down upon my throne. Trying to find some form of closure in the plush seating.
"To make it even more problematic, our autonomous states of prance, stalliongrad, and saddle arabia are now noticing their declining male population." She pulled out a note. "The Arabian's have managed to barely keep their male population up through the.....old familial ways which now are showing defects." She continued reading the note. "Stalliongrad, enforced a harsh male breeding program and instituted a no human-pony breeding act same as Saddle Arabia." She sighed. "both see you as the holy pony mother and that humans are heretical creatures that defy harmony. Prance is leaning more and more towards that mindset aswell."
I looked up to the doctor and remembered another part of the studies.
"What about the human and pony tests." The doctor shuffled abit trying to figure out, how she could word her findings.
"Strained, Humans most of the time refuse to breed with ponies." She sighed and rubbed her eyes. "I..They're genes are more dominant except in magic. But they are heavily male chromosome, though the.....children are more akin to the human parents." She strangely rubbed a golden pendant around her neck. " 1 out of every five human-pony children are pony, the rest are hybrids." She looked at me with an unreadable look. "Was it really a good idea to put the hybrid children in hard work and serfdom."
I sighed and looked at her.
"Yes, we need the labor force for the ever growing demand of work that many ponies are unable to do." The doctor sighed and left the room after bowing down. As she left the room I remember one hybrid boy who......"Refused" his master. He was brought to me and before I could react he attacked and bested me, my sister managed to best him and threw him out one of our windows. I remember waking up as I saw him getting throw out the window with one of my celestial claymores, both his hands were cut off when luna performed a counter slash downwards.
Shaking my head from my thoughts I looked at the spot where the strange human who appeared in our room landed. After just an hour of being sent to my beloved student I receive a letter saying he managed to escape. Killed a mare and shrugged off magic as if it wasn't there. I knew magic wouldn't affect humans as much as they do ponies. they have a natural defense about them, but this human seemed to not even feel magic used against him.
Standing up I walked towards the window and stared long into the horizon where the everfree forest stretches on like a sea of green. A nagging voice entered my mind one from long ago when a human predicted a new age and equestria's fall.
You may destroy our culture, our history, our very being. But long after I am gone and the moon and sun rejoin as one, with a purple star rising to ascendancy. He will come, Baring a blade of curved fang that cry's in glee for blood. Falls into your house where by searing flesh cement his pledge and caste him out to the star. He shall flee into the sea of trees and their be, he makes a kingdom from those who flee from thee. When he marches wagons shall burn, mines, town and all that house and torture his kin. shall meet his blade. They shall meet his embrace through fire, steam and blood. To thee he shall be your tartarus. But to we he shall be as father, brother, and son. He will be our immortal ruler and bring together those whom you have cast out and under his gaze, lead us onto paradise. He is our father and we are his children. Beware our name of Silla!
I shivered as the last of those haunting words left my mind. I knew what I did to Humanity was cruel in the eyes of many and to some of the other kingdoms. But sometimes hard decisions must be made in order to protect your people, and help them thrive. As I walked towards the doors I still couldn't help but feel regret for my actions. But another feeling soon began to bite into me, whispering softly as I passed my sister who went to begin night court. It clawed and wretched at my heart and mind and all of it was just the last phrase from that once long dead old man.
Beware our name of Silla.........I laid down on the bed and drifted off into the void of sleep with only one thought on my mind.
When shall this prophecy come true?
