Law and Order: Student Victim's Unit
Teacher's Court (pun intended)
In the Equestrian justice system friendship based offenses are considered especially heinous. In Ponyville the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the "Student Victims Unit".
These are their stories.
DUN DUN
"You wanted to see us after school miss Fluttershy?" Gallus asked as he and Sandbar entered Fluttershy's otherwise empty classroom.
"Thank you for coming boys. Can you make sure you close the door behind you?" She asked in a sweet voice.
Sandbar gently nudged the door shut with his hind hoof and the two approached the teacher's desk.
"It seems both of you boys were late handing in your homework assignment on kindness so I had to dock you a grade." She said with a tone of concern.
"I'm totally sorry miss Fluttershy." Sandbar apologized, nervously placing one of his hoofs against the back of his head.
"You see we were both in the student athletics competition on the weekend and-" Gallus added. He was interrupted by the sound of a long eerie synthesizer note.
"Oh I know you are both so handsome and athletic." Fluttershy flashed a seductive grin at them and beckoned as the eerie note continued to play. "You two are so close to making the honor roll so I want to give you a chance for some extra credit." Fluttershy continued. "Oh, oops!" The eerie synthesizer note stopped and she blushed as she realized she was leaning against a musical keyboard that was on her desk for some reason.
DUN DUN
Ponyville Police Headquarters 11th Precinct.
"Trixie, Big Mac!" Luna's voice bellowed. The duo scrambled through the office building and entered the central office space to meet Luna.
"Eeyup!" Big Mac exclaimed as they entered. Luna shoved a news paper across her desk.
"Hippogriff in hospital after she threatens to jump off of roof of Ponyville town hall." Trixie read the headline aloud. She waved her hoof and in a puff of smoke the newspaper was back on Luna's side of the desk again. "The Great and Powerful Trixie demands to know how this concerns the Student Victims Unit!" she turned her nose up.
"When the unis were interviewing her on the way to the hospital she said she was doing it to bring attention to a student-teacher scandal at the friendship school. Turns out she's a student there." Luna explained. "So this just became your case."
Big Mac hung his head and Trixie looked back.
"But Big Mac's leave was supposed to start tomorrow. The case load has been tremendous lately and he's hardly gotten to see his special somepony." She spoke for him.
"Eeyup." he confirmed.
"Look, this is a huge scandal in the making and I have Celestia breathing down my plot as it is after you shot that suspect last week. You two get over to Twilight's school of friendship and get to work on this case immediately. Big Mac, your leave begins when this case is closed.
"First of all I shot him with a harmless tar and feathering spell and second of all internal affairs cleared me of any wrong doing!" Trixie protested.
DUN DUN
Friendship School
Other members of the faculty flashed Trixie and Big Mac a hostile look as they trotted their way into Twilight Sparkle's office.
"The newspapers are completely blowing this out of proportion!" Twilight protested.
Big Mac stared aggressively at Twilight.
"One of your students, Silverstream, told police ponies that she tried to bring up an incident of inappropriate contact between one of your teachers and two of your students to you. This seems like something we should have caught wind of!" Trixie scolded.
"Eeyup." Big Mac confirmed.
"We have our own on-campus police force. Their investigation cleared Fluttershy of any wrong-doing." Twilight explained.
"Well the Great and Powerful Trixie demands to speak to whoever conducted this investigation!" She demanded.
DUN DUN
Applejack's Office.
"That's right. I found no evidence of any wrongdoing." Applejack confirmed. "Twilight's been on me hard to keep this scandal on the low. It's been hard enough selling this school after it lost EEA accreditation she says."
Big Mac stared disapprovingly at Applejack.
"And you don't think it would have been appropriate to recuse yourself from this investigation, since the accused is one of your best friends?" Trixie scolded.
"Eeyup." Big Mac added.
"You're one to talk, Sugarcube." Applejack huffed at Big Mac.
"The Great and Powerful Trixie demands to see files related to your investigation." Trixie belted out with great panache and showmanship as a small salvo of fireworks went off.
"Ya'll are going to have to get yourself a warrant for that. And neither of the two boys have made any complaints so I reckon you don't have probable cause." She chided.
"The old 'Can't rape the willing' defense huh?" Trixie sighed.
DUN DUN
Gallus and Sandbar's dorm room.
"Look. Even if we did tag-team miss Fluttershy. Which we didn't." Gallus sneered at Trixie and Big Mac as they interviewed them
"But would be totally awesome if we did!" Sandbar boasted as he and Gallus exchanged an enthusiastic bro-hoof.
"What's the big deal?" Gallus continued.
"We're both 18!" Sandbar added.
"It's still statutory rape according to the state of Ponyville and inappropriate behavior for any educational professional!" Trixie lectured as Big Mac stared the duo down.
"Are we done here? I have a homework assignment to work on." Gallus rolled his eyes and closed the door as Trixie and Big Mac gave up and started wandering away.
"I guess that just leaves the hippogriff" Trixie sighed.
"Eeyup" Big Mac agreed.
DUN DUN
Ponyville Hospital: Mental Health Wing.
Trixie and Big Mac entered a padded room to meet up with Silverstream.
"I've never been in a padded room before, this is so cool!" Silverstream beamed.
"Your classmates aren't cooperating. If they don't testify This whole case is about to fall apart." Trixie sighed. "The Great and Powerful Trixie needs you to tell us everything!"
"Well I saw Gallus and Sandbar go to miss Fluttershy's class room after school. They were acting pretty weird ever since. Then they started going around the school and bragging about having a three-way with her. I told them 'I don't even know what that is but it sounds totally awesome!' and then they showed me pictures and I was like 'woah isn't that wrong?' and so I told Principal Twilight and she said miss Applejack said she talked to them and nothing wrong was found and then I talked to Ocellus and Smolder and Yona and they were like 'that sounds like a coverup' and I was like 'what's a coverup that sounds so cool?' and then they explained what a coverup was and I was like 'woah that's not cool at all'." Silverstream explained, speaking at a rapid pace and not taking any breaths until she was done.
Big Mac stared at Trixie
"Yes but even if there are pictures you know how things are these days. Defense is just going to claim they are doctored. I'm not even sure if the picture angle will be that helpful. They are both 18 so it's not like it's foalcon."
"Gallus isn't 18!" Silverstream squeaked. "He lies about his age because he got skipped ahead a grade and he doesn't want people thinking he's an egghead!" She explained.
Trixie and Big Mac looked at each other in a Eureka moment and Trixie's horn glowed, producing a banana out of her hat and she hovered it beside her ear like a telephone.
DUN DUN
Gallus and Sandbar's dorm room.
"Hey lover-boys open up. Ponyville Police." Walter slammed his hoof on the door. Derpy stood off to the side in an action pose. "We have a warrant!" he insisted. After there was no answer again he and Derpy looked at each other and then nodded.
Walter bucked the door open and the two officers scrambled in. They got in just on time to see Gallus flying away with Sandbar in his arms.
Derpy flew off after them and Walter parkoured down the side of the building to make chase on hoof. Carrying another pony proved tiring and Gallus and Sandbar were soon back on the ground.
"Stop!" Derpy commanded as she transitioned into a dive toward Gallus. Likewise Walter tackled Sandbar to the ground.
"You're both under arrest for possession of foalcon. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law." Walter scolded as he placed hoof cuffs tightly onto the duo. "Damn, we look cool doing this. Too bad we only show up in the arrest scenes. " he boasted as he adjusted his sunglasses.
DUN DUN
Ponyville Police 11th Precinct Interrogation room.
Gallus and Sandbar sat alone in the room awaiting interrogation. Luna, Trixie and Big Mac stood outside.
"Do you really think this is going to fly with the DA?!" Luna chided at Trixie and Big Mac as the three stared through the one-way mirror. "Serious criminal charges against the supposed victims of the crime?"
"Relax. It's just leverage to get the boys to testify. Because without their testimony we have no case." Trixie explained as Big Mac stared at Luna.
"The Great and Powerful Trixie is after bigger fish. Along with Silverstream's testimony we should be able to crack open this whole coverup." Trixie added.
Luna sighed and nodded reluctantly as Big Mac and Trixie entered the interrogation room.
"So I guess you know I'm not really 18 then?" Gallus scratched the back of his head.
"Eeyup." Big Mac replied.
"This is like totally that good cop, bad cop thing isn't it?" Sandbar called out.
"The Great and Powerful Trixie doesn't need such a silly ruse. Let us cut straight to the chase. You both face serious foalcon charges right now. If you agree to testify against Fluttershy we can get those charges dropped. " She offered.
DUN DUN
Ponyville District Court
Silverstream sat nervously at the witness stand. Mayor Mare sat as the judge. A variety of different background ponies sat at the Jury stand.
"The defense may now cross-examine the witness." Mayor Mare said. A sharply dressed defense attorney stallion approached the witness stand.
"Is it true that you had a romantic relationship with Gallus?" Everypony in the court gasped as Silverstream looked down nervously.
"Order!" Mayor Mare banged her gavel.
"Objection, your honor!" The equally sharp dressed prosecutor stallion called out. "Prejudicial" he explained his objection.
"I will allow the question." Mayor Mare ruled.
"I may remind you that you're under oath." The defense attorney stallion stated.
"Yes but..."
"And is it true that relationship ended after some out of context frames of Gallus and Sandbar showed up?"
"Yes." Silverstream sighed.
Twilight Sparkle smirked smugly across the court room over at Trixie and Big Mac as she pulled out a small keyboard and started playing an eerie synth note.
"And have you ever felt Jealous recently about this?"
"Yes..." Silverstream broke into tears.
"Your honor, prosecution requests a recess!" The prosecutor Pony blurted out.
"You have 30 minutes!" Mayor Mare shouted as she banged her gavel again.
DUN DUN
Everypony rabbled around out into the hallway.
"This case is about to go south, fast!" Luna scolded Trixie and Big Mac.
"The Great and Powerful Trixie still has one more trick up her sleeve!" she assured.
DUN DUN
Back in the court room.
"The prosecution would like to call Guidance Counselor Starlight Glimmer to the witness stand." The court gasped once again.
"Why is everypony acting so surprised?" Starlight Glimmer sighed. "Doesn't anypony watching this know what 'discovery' means?"
"Miss Glimmer, what do the regulations state must be done when an accusation of sexual misconduct is brought up to a faculty member?" The prosecutor asked.
"That I should be informed. And that I should contact police." Starlight explained.
"And when were you informed about these allegations?"
"I wasn't. I mean I didn't find out until I read about it in the newspaper." She sighed.
"And what did Twilight Sparkle say to you once the allegations were public?"
"She asked me to keep quiet about it." She answered calmly.
Trixie stared smugly over at Twilight Sparkle now and pulled out her own keyboard, playing a long eerie synthesizer note.
DUN DUN
Ponyville District Court - Verdict
"Has the Jury reached a verdict?" Mayor Mare asked.
"We have your honor." The Jury Forepony said. "In the charge of statutory rape in the first degree, we the jury find the defendant guilty."
Just to rub it in Trixie blasted one last eerie synth note as the Bailiff escorted Fluttershy out in handcuffs and Twilight Sparkle stared over with a look of dread.
