Friendship Doesn't Solve Everything
Queen Chrysalis paced around her room, as the changelings guarding her throne room looked at eachother with confused glances.
"Is she okay? Should we ask?" the one named Elytra asked.
"Not unless she tells us Elytra!" the other, named Pollen, exclaimed.
"You two do realize I can hear you, right?" Chrysalis asked.
"Uh... no, Queen! We didn't!" Elytra exclaimed.
"Well, what is the problem?" Pollen asked.
"All the guards have disappeared, leaving only normal changelings with no experience to guard. Pharynx thinks the changelings were captured, left to get love and stayed there, or got killed." Chrysalis said.
The two changelings were astonished - she seemed fine with the guard possibly being killed or captured.
"Well... what are you going to do now?" Pollen asked.
"I need you to get me somepony... or should I say... someponies." Chrysalis hissed. "Go to Ponyville and get Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends - tell them its an emergency. They'll fall right into my trap."
"Yes Queen Chrysalis!" the two exclaimed.
"Pollen, your not going. You need to stay at the First Aid Room." Chrysalis said.
"Yes Queen..." Pollen said.
"Okay... Plan Capture the Holder of Magic and her Friends. Got it!" Elytra muttered, flying above Ponyville.
He turned into a pegasus, as he flew to the Castle of Friendship.
"Hello? Hol - Princess Twilight Sparkle?"
"Coming out in a second!" the Princess exclaimed, as she answered the door.
"I've found the Changeling Hive in the Everfree Forest! Get your friends to!" Elytra exclaimed.
"Who - wha - how?!" Twilight asked in shock.
"I was flying through the forest one day and saw some Changelings flying. I followed them and saw the hive!" Elytra exclaimed.
"Who are you exactly?" Twilight asked.
"Crystal Ladybug." Elytra said. "I came all the way from the Crystal Empire to see the Everfree Forest!"
"Well, I'll get everypony and then we can go." Twilight said.
"I still don't see why we had to come. Twilight could've done this herself!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
"Because I told you to." Elytra said. "Now come on!"
Elytra flew forward, seeing the Changelings, ready to ambush.
"Here it is!" he exclaimed loudly, signaling to the other Changelings.
The other Changelings pounced, as Elytra changed back to his Changeling form.
In the hive after the ambush, the Changelings brought in Twilight and the other five to Chrysalis.
"Chrysalis!" Twilight exclaimed angrily. "I knew it was you!"
"Oh, did you now? Then why'd you come?" Chrysalis chuckled.
"Let us go!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Or else!"
"Or else what? I've restricted you using your magic or wings and you can't move." Chrysalis said.
"Or else we'll... we'll..." Rainbow Dash started. "We'll beat you up!"
"Really now? Well once I do what I will, nopony will be safe - especially not in Ponyville." Chrysalis answered. "Get the cocoons ready!"
After the Changelings had gotten the cocoons, Chrysalis said, "Say goodbye to this! You'll never see it again!"
Rainbow Dash? Fluttershy? Rarity? Anypony?
Yay! We can talk with thoughts somehow!
I - Is everypony okay?
Fluttershy, it'll be okay! Y'all just... calm down. Ah'm sure it'll be okay.
What in Celestia's name is Chrysalis thinking?!
Rainbow Dash, darling, calm down.
CHRYSALIS IS DOING WHO KNOWS WHAT AND... YOUR JUST SAYING I SHOULD CALM DOWN!?
"Their awake, my queen!" Pharynx exclaimed.
Oh no..
Chrysalis manically laughed, as she took the ponies out of their cocoons.
She put her horn on Twilight's head, but was knocked back.
"My queen! Are you okay?" a changeling exclaimed.
"What in my name is going on?!" Chrysalis asked.
"We're still connected to our Elements! Of course!" Twilight exclaimed.
Next time don't say that out loud.
Oops...
"Ergh... Curses! Pollen! Get them to the Changeling Dorms! We'll think of something for them to do." Chrysalis called.
"At your service queen!" Pollen exclaimed.
The ponies squirmed, as Twilight looked behind her. They'd been turned into Changelings!
They still had their normal manes and tails, just with holes in them. They all had wings with the colors of their original coats. Twilight's wings seemed... bigger though - in between Chrysalis' wing size and a normal Changeling's. As did her horn.
"Here you are!" Pollen exclaimed. "You can stay in.... that dorm." She pointed to a random dorm.
"Okay!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, bouncing.
"Uh Pinkie Pie, darling... You can fly now." Rarity said, flapping her wings.
"Huh? Oh! Whee!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, flying off the ground in a circle. "This body is fun!"
Twilight face-hoofed, flying up to the dorm, "Here we are. Its.. uh... nice?"
"If you classify gray and blue with holes then yes. But I do not." Rarity said, entering.
"Well just wait! I brought my party cannon and balloons and cakes! And Granny Pie's baking powder!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"Maybe we should... changelingify our names. I'll be Twilight Lovebug." Twilight said.
"Ah'll be Changing Apple." Applejack responded.
"I'll be... uh... uh... Pinkie Pie! Maybe this is a lost cause..." Pinkie said.
"Well Chrysalis might do that anyways." Rainbow Dash said. "And I doubt we can change back. If we can, I doubt Twilight brought a book about that.
"There's probably a library here." Fluttershy said. "And I'll be Sunflower... also... by the way..."
"Twilight Twinkle!" a changeling called.
"Sparkle!" she called back.
"Whatever... the queen wants you and your friends in her throne room!" he called back.
"That was weird." Rainbow Dash said.
"Well, let's go!" Pinkie said, bouncing off.
"Are they here, Cornicle?" Queen Chrysalis asked.
"They ssshould be." Cornicle hissed.
"WHEEEE! C'mon AJ! You should try this!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed.
"Chrysalis? We're here." Twilight said.
"Excellent. Not only do I have to educate you in changeling speech, I have to give you jobs." Chrysalis hissed.
"But... Our families! Our jobs! In Ponyville!" Fluttershy exclaimed, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Calm down," Rainbow Dash smiled, "Sunflower."
Fluttershy giggled a bit and said, "Thanks Dashie..."
"I'm sure at some point you can go back to them. But only AFTER we get more changeling guards!"
The changelings had no idea how to react.
Chrysalis... was out of guards?
Should one of us volunteer?
Maybe. Ah vote for me and Rainbow!
We're NOT VOTING! If you want to, volunteer!
"I volunteer!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
"Ah do to!" Applejack exclaimed.
"Excellent! For the rest of you, I have the following jobs! Twilight, you will be our librarian." Chrysalis looked to Twilight.
"Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes, yesyesyes, yeeees!" Twilight exclaimed.
"Geez Twi, calm down!" Rainbow said.
"Fluttershy, you will take care of our animals and nature! Rarity, you'll design our clothes, specifically for the guards and the gala. Pinkie, you shall take care of our food and... while I don't want to say this... birthday parties." Chrysalis said.
"Yay!"
"Excellent, darling! I shall create the wonderfullest dress for you!"
"EEEEEEEEEEEE! I'M SO NERVEXCITED!"
"Elytra, Cornicle, go introduce Applejack and Rainbow Dash to their jobs." Chrysalis commanded. "Pollen, Fluttershy to hers. Love Cakes, I'm sure Pinkie will be fine, but help her out. I'll help Twilight... and Nāhala!"
"Y - Yes my queen?" stuttered the changeling.
"You will help Rarity!"
"O - Okay..." Nāhala stuttered.
"Elytra, I have one last command." Chrysalis said.
"What is it?"
"Send the two to Ponyville - I have a reason. They want their families." Chrysalis said.
"Got it!"
"Rainbow Dash, Applejack!" Cornicle exclaimed.
"Yessir?" Rainbow asked.
"Just call me Cornicle." Cornicle said.
"Okay!" Rainbow said.
"Queen Chrysalis told me she has one last command - go to Ponyville and get you and your friends' families." Elytra said.
"Ah don't think Ah'm gonna get Granny or Big Mac... Apple Bloom I can get." Applejack responded.
"I can get Scoots and Sweetie Belle then!" Rainbow exclaimed.
"Okay Applejack... you can do 'is..." Applejack muttered.
She creaked open the door, not seeing Big Mac or Granny Smith. Anywhere.
"Hello? Anypony 'ere?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Apple Bloom! Are Granny and Big Macintosh here?" Applejack asked.
"No. Why Applejack?" Apple Bloom questioned, before seeing her sister. "What in tarnation? Why are y'all a changeling?!"
"Oops... forgot to disguise... Y'all see... A changeling tricked us inta comin' to the hive... then we became changelings... so we, as in me and Rainbow, are supposed to get our families. Ah don't think Granny or Big Mac would be easy to lift though." Applejack explained.
"Okay then! As well as Sweetie Belle an' Scootaloo are there to?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Yep! They sure will be!" Applejack exclaimed. "If Rainbow Dash did okay..."
"EEEEEK!" Sweetie Belle squealed. "RARITY! THERE'S A CHANGELING IN MY ROOM!"
"Firstly I'm OUTSIDE of your room, secondly I'm 20% cooler then ANYPONY! Especially a changeling!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
"Rainbow Dash? Oh... I thought you were a chan... WAIT! WHY ARE YOU A CHANGELING?!" Sweetie Belle asked.
"Long story short a changeling tricked us, the hive ambushed us, Chrysalis made us changelings and now we can get our families. So I need to get you and Scoots." Rainbow Dash explained.
"Do you have proof your Rainbow Dash?" Sweetie Belle asked. "Does Scootaloo like me?"
"Yes. She does." Rainbow Dash said.
"DID SCOOTALOO TELL YOU?! Ugh... Scoots... Anyways, let's go..." Sweetie Belle said, grabbing onto Rainbow's hooves.
"Scootaloo! Scoot-scootalooooo! Scootaloo... I can see your tail." Rainbow Dash called as she saw Scootaloo's tail.
"DON'T HURT ME!" Scootaloo exclaimed, "Rainbow Dash?"
"Yes." Rainbow Dash and Sweetie Belle answered.
"Oh... WHY ARE YOU -?!"
"A changeling tricked us, the hive ambushed us, Chrysalis made us changelings and now we can get our families." Rainbow Dash explained.
"Okie dokie!" Scootaloo said, grabbing onto Rainbow Dash's hooves.
"WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
That for a whole twenty minutes.
"Okay Nāhala... You can do this... D - Don't stutter... You'll only be in front... Of your idol!" Nāhala giggled. "Oh who am I kidding. I - I can't do this..."
"I am sure you can, darling." Rarity said.
"How long have you been there for?" Nāhala asked.
"Since you said "idol", darling. Why?" Rarity asked.
“N - No reason...” the changeling stuttered.
“Well darling, how do changelings make clothes?” Rarity asked.
“Pretty much the same way ponies do. I always add love extract though!” Nāhala exclaimed.
Maybe this won’t be so bad after all.
“Twitchy tail, twitchy tail!” Pinkie exclaimed.
“What?” Love Cakes asked.
“Something’s gonna fall!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed, looking up. “Look out! It’s a Dashie!”
“Eee!” Love Cakes exclaimed.
The two ponies basically slide kicked out of the way.
Did you see that?! Wasn’t it awesome?!
Pinkie Pie, don’t interrupt the chapter! Anyways...
“I knew ponies had magic, but I didn’t think earth ponies did!” Love Cakes exclaimed.
“They do. Super strength, and Pinkie Pie’s family has... that.” Rainbow Dash replied.
“It’s Pinkie Sense, Dashie! And hi Scoots! Hi Sweetie!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed.
“I’m still gonna kill you for telling Dash you like me.” Sweetie Belle whispered to Scootaloo.
“Sweetie, it’s not secret!” Scootaloo exclaimed, still whispering. “Apple Bloom knows, Button Mash knows, Rumble knows, Diamond Tiara knows, Silver Spoon knows!”
“Ugh...” Sweetie Belle groaned.
“Anyways... Pinkie Pie, be a lovebug and get some love extract, would y - Nāhala. Shouldn’t you be with Rarity?” Love Cakes asked.
“Auē! Love Cakes! I needed love extract for Chryssi’s Gala Dress!” Nāhala exclaimed.
“Oooh! Who's she going with? Fluffle Puff? Sombra? Discord?” Pinkie asked.
“You guessed right the first time.” Love Cakes answered, taking the love extract from the other changeling.
I knew I had psychic powers!
