Sitting at the table, Diamond didn’t bother looking at her mother when she welcomed her to dinner. Diamond merely nodded, sat at her place, and ate in silence while her father and mother discussed their respective business, her father running the only convenience store in Ponyville, her mother being head of the School Board. Diamond’s silence went completely un-noticed. When she was finished, she carried her plate to the cart the servants would use to wheel it out, excused herself, and left the mansion. Silver Spoon would be waiting for her.

She’d seen Applebloom go down this path often enough, she knew exactly where it lead. Zecora the Zebra’s hut. If any... creature would understand what she was going through, surely Zecora. Hearing twigs breaking to either side of the path, she glanced over and saw Timberwolves following her every step. They weren’t exactly watching her, however. Silent guides? Diamond swallowed and stared up at him, making herself look as small as possible, hoping he wouldn’t find such a tiny morsel appetizing. The door swung open momentarily and Zecora stared out at him.

What brings you to my little corner of the Sahara?” Zecora asked and Diamond looked up at her.
“I... don’t know. Mother sent me to get food for dinner tonight and... I wound up here.” She said and Zecora nodded and gestured her inside.
“If it is food you seek, why not at my stores take a peek. Or perhaps a remedy for your mothers wailing, something that will cease your own ailing?” Zecora asked and Diamond walked inside and looked around.
“I don’t get it.” She said and, hearing a knock on the wall, turned to look and saw the Timberwolf peering in through the window. “He’s back.”
“So he is, but for what I don’t know. Does he have something in tow?” Zecora asked as she went to the door and peered outside. The wolf walked over to her and dropped a log of wood and a slightly charred stick in front of her, pointed at the stick, and then at Zecora, making a motion with his mouth that looked like talking. “I see what you mean. Very well, I will use these items as a team.” She said, picking them up and carrying them inside, closing the door as she did. Diamond watched as she wrote something down before taking the log from her.
“Are you looking for something to stop your mother from yelling at you?” She read aloud and Zecora nodded. “You don’t write in rhyme?”

Zecora sighed and wrote what she meant.
“If she drinks it, she’ll do whatever I tell her? Ok. Um... what do I owe you?”
“Nothing, at the moment. It is more of a revenge for a past torment.” Zecora said and started to write it down but Diamond held up a hoof.
“I know what you meant. Thank you.” She said as she took the potion and walked out the door. The wolf stood in front of her for a moment before walking ahead of her, leading her back to the path. “Yup. Are you escorting us to Zecora’s today Blue?” Pinkie asked and Blue nodded then looked at Diamond before pointing his snout back at Ponyville.

I guess you got what you were after?” Pinkie asked and Diamond nodded before walking towards Ponyville. “See ya at your party tomorrow Diamond.” Pinkie said and Diamond nodded, her eyes wide. She’d almost forgotten the party tomorrow. Silver Spoon’s surprise birthday party. Turning around to thank Pinkie for reminding her, she watched as Blue lead them into the forest and out of sight. “It’s... for mother. From Zecora. Stomach medicine.” Diamond lied before wincing. Rose would never buy it. Rose stared at her for a moment before nodding once and setting the bottle to the side. Diamond blinked as Rose went about finishing dinner while Diamond went back out into the dining room.
“There you are Diamond Tiara. I was just telling your father that we should send you away to Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. You can learn so much more there than at that school that caters to... blank flanks.” She said with just as much venom in her voice as she always had. Diamond nodded slowly, remaining silent. If she said anything, her mother would yell at her again, which would drive her father into the study to eat and drink away the annoyance, leaving Diamond vulnerable to abuse. “I knew you would agree.”

“And how much did this cost you?” She asked and Diamond shook her head.
“Nothing. Really. They were giving it away.” She said and Spoiled nodded before clapping her hooves together, summoning one of the servants over, who levitated the bottle and poured Spoiled a glass. Spoiled Milk lifted it carefully and took a sip, smacking her lips as politely as she could before downing the glass.
“That is marvelous, Diamond Tiara. I can forgive your past... outburst.” She said and Diamond smiled.
“Thank you mother.” She said, nibbling on some of her dinner. “How long before it takes affect...?” she asked herself as Spoiled gestured to the servant to continue pouring her more of the juice. Before long, the bottle was emptied and Spoiled Milk was looking only slightly flushed.
“Dear, do you suppose that juice was slightly alcoholic?” Filthy Rich asked and Spoiled waved him off.

“Potion of Subjugation: Whoever drinks this potion will become the personal slave of whomever holds the bottle, unable to refuse and order no matter how much against their sense of self-preservation it is.” She read silently before looking up at her mother. “You’ll do whatever I want?” She asked and her mother nodded.
“Of course my darling. Whatever you want me to do.” Spoiled said and Diamond stared at her for a moment before smiling so broadly her cheeks her.
“Go up to my room and wait for me. Don’t tell any pony where you are going.” Diamond said and without a word, her mother obeyed. Walking out to the front courtyard, Diamond looked around until she spotted Silver Spoon, sitting on the fountain, alone. “Hi Silver. Sorry about earlier. Come with me. Keep it secret, really hush hush, so Dad doesn’t find out and then, I’ll just tell Mom to stop being careful about it. Bring her affair beau home one evening when Dad’s away and keep him here until Dad comes home. She’s caught, Dad gets a divorce, and I’m free.”
“But... that’s not really revenge is it?” Silver asked and Diamond blinked.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, she’s treated you like a door mat ever since you were born. Don’t you think some better revenge is needed?”
“I’m listening...”

“Yeah. And it’s not hurtful either.”
“Just annoying?” Diamond asked and Scootaloo nodded. “Well, I’ll try and be less annoying, ok? Scooters?” She asked before racing off, Scootaloo hot on her tail, both of them laughing.
“Ah swear, she does it just t’ get on Scootaloo’s nerves.” Applebloom said and Silver nodded.
“I think you’re right. Come on, let’s go before the stumble into Froggy Bottom Bog.” She said and the three of them raced off after their friends.
