Black Sun

This story is a sequel to Where Gods Rest and the Sunset arc of The Quickverse Chronicles.

After several turbulent months of intrigue, adventure and dealing with ever present threats, life seems to be returning to normal for the Elements of Harmony. Despite gaining new allies, new partners and new hope, they know that the worst may be to come. Sunset Shimmer is still at large, an unknown factor who's true motives remain known only to her. To the south, the last traces of the ancient Alicorn race still linger, waiting for their chance to escape. Alone, either one would be the most dangerous foe Princess Twilight and her friends would ever face.

If they could come together, it would only take the smallest of changes to bring about the end of everything.

As a fragment of the past moves to reclaim its lost domain, the elements will need everything and everypony that stands with them to withstand the coming storm. The power of friendship may help for a time, but something more will be needed. Can such a burden be carried without sacrifice? Are the elements ready to defend Equestria once more despite their advancing age? Each is ready to stand against whatever darkness may come, but one question remains consistent in each of their hearts.

Is the day coming when the sun will rise over a land forever changed?

Welcome everyone, to the grand culmination of three years of writing. After many turns both good and ill, the Quickverse comes to its season finale of sorts. It's been a decently lengthy journey and I want to thank every single one of you who came on it. Even those that got on to look and got off at the next stop. New chapters will be released every Thursday and Sunday, so let's end on a high note!

Rated M for pony-on-pony conflict involving serious injury and death. Profanity is only for limited instances in chapters 16, 29 and (depending on your definitions) 37.

As the coming together of the Quickverse storyline, almost all of the other stories are not required but will be referenced and provide context. Naturally, this also means heavy spoilers for any you may not have read.
