The Sentence

Rarity and her friends were at a picnic waiting for Twilight to come and join them but for some reason Twilight did not show up. They were hoping that she would come and eat with them.

"Well I'm certainly upset our friend hasn't come to hang out with us. I hope that she didn't forget." Rarity said.

"Maybe we are forgetting about the fact that she had something to do today." Fluttershy said with a shrug.

"Huh! I wonder what that could be. She never mentioned having to go anywhere unless she did and I forgot." Applejack said.

"Maybe she's throwing a party?" Pinkie Pie suggested making her friends groan with annoyance.

"I don't think she's doing that Pinkie Pie. If she was then her party might be a bit boring without us there including me." Rainbow Dash said making her friends roll their eyes.

"Do you have to be that full of yourself?" Rarity asked causing Rainbow Dash to shrug. As they sat there a guard came walking over to them.

"Guys? What are you doing over here? Twilight Sparkle is looking for you." The guard said. Twilight's friends

"What do you mean? I thought we were gonna have a picnic with her." Rarity said. The guard became confused.

"Well that's not on her schedule. She's over at the crystal games stadium preparing to give a speech that she announced out of the blue. You better get over there as she wants to see you." The guard said.

"Speech she didn't tell us about any speech!" Applejack said. The guard shrugged.

"Sorry but from what I heard the speech was kept under wraps by Twilight and the royal family. They announced it today with little to no warning. Do you want us to lead you there?" The guard asked.

"No that's okay we can find it. Thanks." Rarity said. Rarity and her friends started to walk over to where they had been told Twilight would be at. They had so many questions on their minds. They decided to go see the speech to see if they can get their questions answered.

When they got there they saw that a lot of people had already been shown to their seats. They approached the opening and a guard led them to the front row as Twilight had secured seats for them before hand since they were her friends. Once they sat down they all looked around at them.

Soon Princess Celestia came up to the center everybody applauded the princess. Princess Celestia stood there and waited for the applause to die down. Once it did she turned on the microphone and started to speak.

"Citizens of Equestria I would like to thank you all to come to this very important speech Princess Twilight Sparkle will make. She is very thankful for coming here as she has some things to say. Before that can happen however I just want to say a few words." Celestia said.

"Equestria is set on the ideals that Twilight herself now holds dear. Friendship and protection of her friends and protection of the homeland. This protection is vital for our survival unless we die amongst ourselves." Celestia said.

"Hm I wonder what she's up to. Everybody knows the fact that protection is important." Rainbow dash whispered to her friends with confusion.

"In order to hear how we can continue to uphold this protection please welcome Princess Twilight Sparkle." Celestia announced. People stood to applaud Twilight as they had all just witnessed the shortest introduction in history of speeches. Whatever was going on it was very urgent.

Twilight embraced Celestia in a strong hug. As the applause continued the crowd that was closest to the the center saw that Celestia was starting to cry. They had never seen Celestia cry in public. It was very strange. Celestia stopped hugging Twilight and Twilight went to the front. She cleared her throat and people were told to be very quiet for the speech. Twilight began.

"You must all be wondering why I brought all of you hear today. You must be confused. You must want an explanation that I must give you. The explanation might not make sense however it's imperative that you hear it." Twilight said. Twilight brought a diagram with a pyramid drawn on it.

"When I became an immortal princess at my coronation years ago....that immortality came with a price. When I was coronated I was visited by the spirits that were representing our creator. They....weren't happy to say the least. You see when I became immortal the spirits didn't like that because immortality wasn't for me to decide it was for them to decide. I had sinned. They gave me an option. Either Equestria can be punished by being destroyed or.......I could.....be mummified and placed inside a pyramid....for a very long time...I chose the second option." Twilight said.

The audience including Twilight's friends were becoming very sad as they did not like either option. Twilight's friends did not like how Twilight had kept this a secret from them. At the same time they felt sad at the prospect of Twilight choosing either of them. They all started to panic and freak out but Twilight worked to calm them down.

"Now everybody relax. If we all relax it will be a lot easier for all of us involved. Look I know Equestria has been through a lot so I don't want us to be go through any thing else. I've decided to agree to be punished to spare my fellow friends and citizens. I must be punished for Celestia's sins. I have to be punished. It's imperative that I am. If I'm not everybody on Equestria will die along with Equestria itself. You can try and stop me but that wont work. I'm going to serve the time of my imprisonment because it's expected of me. I will never die when I'm there but that doesn't mean my friends wont be able to see me again." Twilight said.

Twilight's friends who were now sobbing hysterically became alert at what Twilight said.

"This message is directed to them. I wanted to do this privately but this situation is urgent. Equestria....doesn't have much time left...." Twilight said.

"Dear friends including Spike....even though you wont be able to speak to me during my sentence you might be able to speak with me when my sentence is over. After my imprisoment I can be freed and join every one of you again in person on Equestria." Twilight said.

As Twilight's speech wore on it became very clear to Twilight's friends that Twilight can not back out from her punishment. Twilight's crime had been so severe that she had to give her eternal life into a restrictive imprisonment that probably will or won't last for a long time. It sounded messed up to them but not to Twilight.

Twilight felt a few tears in her eyes

"Sorry." Twilight said as she looked away. She gained her composure and spoke.

"Now that I have explained my punishment I'm going to explain the consequence for Equestria if I'm not locked up." Twilight said. Twilight hung up a huge diagram of space.

"See these meteors? Their heading for Equestria....do you know what that means? It means that if I'm not locked up soon....we're all dead. Were done, fucked, over. It will be the end of Equestria as we know it and the end of all life on Equestria. The higher power that be will send these to Equestria to punish all of us it I'm not put away for a long time. These spirits are serious." Twilight announced.

The audience screamed out in shock and started to cry but Twilight stopped them.

"No we are not going to cry and wail in despair. Look....we have twenty four hours to lock me up. What we are going to do is have the entire stadium cleaned out and everybody hear will be led to an underground shelter. There you will be given an access code valid for twenty four hours. You will enter the access code into the shelter and close yourselves in until the guards there get the confirmation that my punishment is carried out. Once it is you will all be free to go home. The pyramid will be enclosed during my punishment. It will only be open at Celestia or Luna's discretion. Spirits called guardians will be stationed there at all times in order to prevent people from trespassing and preventing me from trying to escape." Twilight asked.

"Also you won't have to worry about me having to be fed as that won't be necessary. Their will be a spell placed on me so that I can never get hungry while I'm serving my imprisoment. With this I could go forever without food. My bowels have been emptied and their has been a spell already placed so that they can stay empty during my punishment. A spell has been placed on me to prevent me from sweating during my punishment as well." Twilight explained.

"Now then...I'm going to authorize the use of the Element of Magic by my dear friend Starlight Glimmer. She will replace me as the leader of the group. She will also become princess and will be next in line to the throne once Cadence dies. I however have been removed from the Royal line due to my punishment. Once my punishment is over I will be restored to the line." Twilight said.

The guards went and got Starlight to debrief her.

"As we can't waste time Starlight will be informed on how to use my element. Once after that happens Celestia will issue the decree of evacuation into the bunkers. All of you will go into the shelter in a calm manner. There will be no shoving pushing or anything of that nature. We are all friends here and we must all treat eachother will respect. That there is the end of my speech. Good luck to you all and when my imprisonment is over I'll join you all again. Thank you and may the spirits bless us and may the population of Equestria live on in peace, harmony and friendship. Goodbye." Twilight said.

Twilight was then led out of the stadium and all of the citizens were allowed to go back home. Twilight's friends ran after Twilight and the guards. Meanwhile astronomers were issuing emergency alerts over the huge meteorites possibly heading towards the planet. Equestria was put into emergency lockdown. It was up to Twilight to save Equestria.

As Twilight was led out of the stadium Twilight's friends ran up to her. The guards stopped and let Twilight go to them.

"Twilight.....please tell me your not serious.....you can't do this! What about Flurry Heart!?" Rainbow Dash explained.

"A long sentence seems to harsh! I'm sorry but this isn't right. You should have the right to leave." Applejack explained. Twilight sighed.

"Girls listen. Now is not the time to argue about my sentence. Once we have me inside you can argue with me and cry there okay? Starlight take the element of magic. It's all up to you. Your the leader." Twilight said.

The girls started to cry but Twilight encouraged them to go on so they reluctantly went to Twilight the pyramid

They ran as fast as they could to get there. Meanwhile the citizens were put in shelters and guarded until it could be safe to go out. Suddenly meteorites entered the atmosphere.

"Aw! I hate doomsday threats." Rainbow Dash said with annoyance. Immediately small flames started to fall to the ground. Twilight saw Spike running up to them

"Spike! Get Celestia and tell her to enact the emergency government!" Twilight yelled. Spike ran towards where Celestia was. Spike told Celestia Twilight's order and Celestia immediately issued a decree to enact martial law and have a temporary group of advisors to oversee operations in the monarchy.

Twilight and her friends finally got into The Entrance Of No Return in the Pyramid and the meteorites started to hit Equestria. All around Equestria people in the crystal empire and Manehattan were rushed to shelters as meteorites smacked into Equestria and the planet. Twilight's friends and Twilight ran to the Room of Imprisoment and they all turned to Twilight and Twilight spoke while the guardians who defended the pyramid and who were the ones that would make sure to defend Twilight's mummified body as well as work to prevent Twilight from leaving stood inside the pyramid and outside of the pyramid.

"You have to leave me here. I'm so sorry it has to be like this." Twilight said. Pinkie Pie hugged her tightly.

"Can we at least stay for your burial? After this we won't know when we can see you again." Pinkie Pie sobbed with her hair flat.

"You'll know when you can. I told you this before. Its not going to be eternal." Twilight said.

"You shouldn't have to be punished anyway Twilight! This isn't fair!" Rarity protested. Rarity hugged her and sobbed heavily. Twilight sighed as she knew this was gonna happen. Twilight thought of something to say to calm them down.

"It might be unfair yes... But sometimes that's just how life and responsibility are...you know how when all of you were little and you all did something bad and your parents punished you by putting you in the corner or gave you a spanking? My punishment is just like that only...its being mummified and placed inside a tomb for a long time. And as extreme that might be its....the law of the spirits. My punishment is just and fair I broke a sacred law and so did Celestia. I chose to take Celestia's punishment." Twilight said.

"We'll miss you..." Rainbow Dash said as she held back tears.

"I promised myself that I wouldn't cry and I'm going to cry."" Appejack said.

"Twilight if you go who will continue to be my mentor!? I don't want to lose you!" Starlight cried with tears streaming down her cheeks.

"I know how hard it is for everyone. I will be able to see you all again. This doesn't mean goodbye for good. It means goodbye for awhile. When I'm free we can all hang out again." Twilight said.

"Twilight it's time. You do not want to make the spirits angry" a guardian said. Twilight looked over at the center. Her friends stared at her as they began to sob. Twilight started to sob to.

"I'll miss you!" Pinkie Pie wailed. Twilight shook her head and entered a group hug with her friends. They stayed their for a few minutes and suddenly a guardian pulled her away from her friends.

"No! Give me a few more minutes!" Twilight protested as she tried to break free. Her friends started to get distressed seeing this but they couldn't do anything about it. Twilight was stripped naked and had her crown taken off and the crown was brought to Celestia. Twilight felt embarrassment from being nude and she felt ashamed and sad about her sin.

"Twilight!" Pinkie Pie yelled in sadness. She tried to free Twilight but was restrained by her friends. Pinkie Pie screamed but her friends calmed her down. The guardians told Twilight to knock it off so she did.

As Twilight forced herself to get on top of the table she looked back at her friends. She was instructed to lay down. She started to panic a bit but calmed down. The guardians started to mummify her in cloth bandages. The process took about twenty minutes. They had to make sure Twilight couldn't get free.

Once the process was done they prepared to enclose her. Twilight was placed into a padded coffin. Twilight looked at her friends.

"I love you all. Don't forget that. Continue to protect Equestria by using the elements. Starlight its up to you to take up my role as the element of magic and leader of our friends. I'm depending on you and never forget what I've taught all of you which is...friendship and trust and honor is the strongest thing that friends could have. Treat eachother with kindness and treat others with kindness." Twilight said as her voice cracked with emotion.

Her friends couldn't speak as they were sobbing to much. They all nodded. The spell to prevent her from being hungry was placed on her and then the she was lowered into the ground and the ground was closed sealing her away inside her prison.

Twilight's friends stared at the floor for the longest time. Pinkie Pie let out a sad wail. Her friends comforted her. The meteorites stopped hitting Equestria. The spirits showed mercy on Equestria. Celestia let out a sigh of relief. All of the citizens were let out of the shelter and were allowed to carry on about their day. As her friends looked at the floor they wondered about how they would deal with Twilight's absence.

"Well...she did what she had to do I guess....I can respect that." Starlight said.

"I guess at the end of the day she sacrificed herself to serve out her sentence so that we wouldn't be punished for her own sins. That's called loyalty." Rainbow Dash said.

"Don't worry girls we will see her again." Rarity said.

Her friends comforted eachother as they were all sad. They didn't want to leave but they were about to be forced by the guardians to leave so they left. Meanwhile Twilight wriggled her mummified body inside the floor.

She knew that it was useless to struggle but she couldn't help it. She knew that her punishment had just begun so that was causing her to panic. She looked up at the restrictive top that was facing back at her.

"Fuck! I'm going to be here for a long time!" Twilight exclaimed. She felt sad and upset. She knew that screaming and protesting wouldn't do her any good but she couldn't stop herself from freaking out as she knew that she wouldn't be able to do anything about her punishment.

"Let me go! I'll never break the rules again! I'm sorry!" Twilight screamed. She listened for a response but the guardians and spirits ignored her and gave her the silent treatment. Twilight had tears running down her cheeks.

"Nohohohohohohoho." Twilight sobbed. Twilight laid her head back as she began to serve out her punishment while she cried. She was going to be there for a long time.
