Princess Celestia and Princess Luna Watch CSPAN

Everpony in Equestria knows that being a princess can be more than just smiling and waving. There is always a downside to the position that you are either born into or absorbed into. You have to take part in at times, boring activities that you have no interest in doing.

That's just how it is, unfortunately.

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna often at times have the most boring of the activities that we do because they are the longest reigning of us four. And one of the most boring activities takes place every week at the United States Embassy, where they were required to watch an event that bored them to death.

"Let me guess," I said as we got together for our weekly breakfast at my castle of friendship. "You watched it again, didn't you?"

"Yes," yawned Princess Luna, her eye bags showing how exhausted they were. "Without a doubt, the most boring activity we have ever done."

"Personally, Twilight," yawned Princess Celestia, nearly falling asleep. "To be honest, I would much rather not watch the activities of worldly matters, but I some feel like I have no choice."

"Why do you even watch this 'CSPAN'? And why do you find interesting or educational about it?" I wondered. "If you think that it is boring, then why not do something else? There are other princess activities you both can do that won't bore you to death."

"Our world is in turmoil, Princess Twilight," remarked Luna, exhaustedly. "We need to learn how to…"

But before Luna could say another word, she learned forward and landed her face in her breakfast of pancakes. Tiredly, Celestia jabbed Luna with her wing, but Luna didn't move and the only noises she made were noises of snoring.

"Look Celestia," I said firmly. "It's clear to me that you and Luna can't be paying attention to this CSPAN spell that you watch. I agree, our world is in turmoil, but sometimes there are certain situations that aren't worth paying attention to. Let CSPAN be its own thing and bore another world leader with its boring nature."

"What do you suggest, Twilight?"

"Just focus on activity within Equestria for a start. I mean, I've got another possible play I'm writing up that you can have creative control in. Remember when Rainbow Dash had to study for her reserve examine? I'm thinking of creating something around that."

Right away, Celestia was nearly about to join her sister in falling asleep and I had to use my magic to keep her from doing just that.

"Look, I know you both feel like you have to do this CSPAN because you're princesses," I remarked, using my magic to try and keep Celestia straight. "But, there's another thing to the matter, it's unhealthy. Too much of this CSPAN can rot your brains and well…look at yourself!"

I then magically produced a mirror and showed it to Celestia's face, which reflected a princess that wasn't herself along with her sister because she was watching something that she thinks is beneficial when it really wasn't.

All Celestia could do was snort and fall asleep once again. Of course, I had to resort to an airhorn from the Wonderbolt Academy to get them both to wake up, which they did right away.

Of course, Luna's face was covered in syrup as a result of sleeping in her breakfast.

"Oh, uh, sorry Twilight," muttered Celestia. "We…we just haven't been…"

"Because you are both so focused on the wrong kind of princess activity that it's making you fall…well, asleep!"

"But, it's…" Luna started to say, but I was quick to interject.

"Not important! Let American governments worry about their own needs. You are Princesses of Equestria! Focus on the needs of Equestria and Equestria alone!"

Once breakfast was over, Celestia and Luna returned to Canterlot and both of them realized that what I was saying was indeed true.

"Sister," sighed Luna later that morning as she went into Celestia's office. "Perhaps Twilight was right, this CSPAN maybe isn't the best for our health."

"To be honest, Luna, I agree with what Twilight was trying to say to us," replied Celestia, sitting back in her desk chair. "What do we even learn from watching humans just blow wind at each other? And why do we even worry about something that isn't even going to have any impact on our kingdom?"

"Or take what we learn from CSPAN and put it into how we govern our kingdom," added Luna, pulling up a chair and sitting across from Celestia. "CSPAN is pure garbage and it does make you fall asleep. So, what do you think we should do?"

Of course, it didn't take long for Celestia to give Luna her answer.

"I say we don't watch CSPAN anymore," she said firmly. "And just focus on Equestrian governance like Twilight suggested we do. Send a note to the American Embassy and tell the ambassador that we no longer have any interest in watching CSPAN with him."

Nodding, Luna did as she was told and it was apparent that my getting through to them finally made them understand what they shouldn't have been doing.

The next week, we all got together again and this time, the two sisters were not feeling exhausted at the dining table.

"Your words were directed and to the point, Twilight," remarked Celestia. "You were right. We shouldn't be watching something that isn't going to benefit us. We haven't been learning anything from CSPAN and we probably never will."

"Well, there are times where the student becomes the teacher and this is one of those times I believe," I replied. "So what are you going to do now when you used to be watching CSPAN?"

"Probably doing some sisterly bonding for a start," chuckled Luna, looking warmly over at Celestia. "Thanks for getting through to us, Twilight."

"Well, we are all princesses and we always look out for each other, no matter the size of whatever we face."
