It was also stated to have been used as a means to allow ponies to fall under a stasis, the tree prevents their bodies from ageing and keeps them alive until they eventually became reanimated. The name Phantom tree came from the spirits of those that were in stasis, while the tree kept their bodies safe their spirits eventually separated from their bodies and allowed them to roam freely. Any Phantom tree that was used for stasis went from a small size to a large size if they are in use.

I walked up to the tree in surprise at the story, as I touched the tree the girl's geodes glowed brightly.
