In 1981YS evil sorcerers and their gangs of petty criminals operate above the law in the untamed outer reaches of Equestria; that is unless they cross paths with the crime fighting duo of Sunset Shimmer- Princess Celestia's former student and a unicorn of great passion and power; and Stygian "Stygg" Laser-run- once the humble unicorn that brought the six pillars of Equestria together, now a semi-autonomous crime-fighting caravan with a heart of pure light. Together they are "Shimmer Run".

A powerful sorcerer threatens to unleash dark machinations upon the world in the remote seaside city of Neighami. Can the duo overcome their unfulfilled longing for physical consummation and Trixie's jealousy in order to save Equestria once again?
