The bell rang to signal the end of class, and the end of school for a mid-term vacation. From the Chemistry class emerged star pupils Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle, who were both formerly subject to the powers of dark Equestrian magic. From P.E. came along Rainbow Dash, the best athlete in school, and Applejack, a tough, apple-lovin' cowgirl and farm worker. Biology soon released Fluttershy and Wallflower Blush, two socially timid and awkward students who liked to keep themselves to themselves. Last but not least emerged Rarity and Pinkie Pie, the school's resident fashionista and party-planner respectively. The eight girls congregated outside of the main corridor, greeting each other with warm smiles and excited giggles. "I can't believe we're on vacation already, it feels like time has really flown" Fluttershy remarked, brushing her hair to the side so it wouldn't block her eyes. Pinkie Pie gave out a loud gasp, an indictator of one of her famed Pinkie Rambles of Pie Family Wisdom. "You don't that maybe there's a girl in this school who has the power to manipulate time and is using that superpower to make time go by WAY faster so that we can get more vacations??" Pinkie exhaled, having completed her short ramble. "Well, I personally wouldn't dismiss that possibility, Pinkie Pie, but I would really like it if we met a magically-powered teenage boy, for a change. To keep things fresh rather than recycling the same old magic-girl thing again and again, and having them become she-demons again and again" Rarity concluded, acknowledging the fact that all of their challenges were always linked to a teenage girl. The other girls simply blinked and stared at her, as she nervously laughed "Oh, come on darlings, surely you're all just as tired of magical girls as I am!" Twilight cleared her throat and adjusted her glasses slightly before speaking. "Well, um, that...odd conversation, out of the way, what are we gonna do together for the first day of vacation?" Her question was met by a series of many different suggestions being fired across all eight girls all at once, before a young man came over to offer his suggestion. "Well, I've no idea what you girls enjoy doing, but the beach is a first-day MUST DO for vacations. Plus," He pulled out a series of vouchers from the pocket in his shorts. "I can get free ice cream" The girls all smiled and Pinkie Pie even squealed with excitement. "OHMYGOHSOHMYGOSOHMYGOSH HE'S GOT FREE ICE CREAM VOUCHERS, WE NEED TO GO WITH HIM!!!!! PLEASE WILY, PLEASE!!!!" Pinkie cried out with excitement before promptly having her mouth covered by Applejack's hand. The boy grinned and let out a small chuckle, before nodding as Pinkie shook her body in an attempt to get herself free. Wallflower Blush lived up to her name and blushed as she smiled and played with her hair "Thank you, uh....w-what's your name"" She asked him. He held out his hand for Wallflower to shake "My name is Jake. Jake Pentecost." The girls each shook Jake's hand one at a time, before he began to walk away again. "See you all down there." -A Few Hours Later, At The Beach The gang of girls were already commencing their fun in the sun down at the beach in their own special ways. Twilight was inspecting the washed-up body of an incredibly rare species of jellyfish, Sunset was playing a game of beach volleyball with Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Wallflower, Rarity was relaxing under the protective shade of an umbrella, and Pinkie Pie was frolicking in the water with Fluttershy. Jake was walking around with a lifeguard's uniform before approaching Twilight, eyeing up the jellyfish curiously. "What sort of species is that? Never seen a jellyfish with pulsating blue veins before" He remarked, gently poking the blob with a thin stick, causing its vein-like structures to pulsate once more. "Kinda freaky" Twilight got up from her knees and acknowledge Jake's reaction. "It is rather curious. Jellyfish commonly don't have any visible networks of blood vessels, so it could potentially be a new species of Man-O-War, but even then, the anatomy doesn't add up." As the two of them exchanged confused glances between one another and the jellyfish, everyone present at the beach was interrupted by a sudden beam of blue light erupting from the distant sea and vanishing into the clouds. Jake shrugged. "Probably just some teens setting off fireworks" However, as Jake finished his sentence, a sudden orange light was seen, just as the charred body of a fighter plane suddenly crashed into the sand, causing an explosion that knocked a few people several feet back. In the distance, a large, beastly figure began to rise up from the depths, letting out an earth-shattering roar as several panicked civilians began to retreat into the city, Jake becoming lost in the crowd as Twilight ran toward her friends as they all stood and watched as the mysterious creature began to slowly tredge toward the shore. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: The Attack //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: The Attack "Sweet Celestia, what is that thing?!" Sunset called out as the large creature finally made landfall. It stood taller than the vast majority of the buildings in the city. Its back was lined with jagged dorsal plates, going all the way down to the end of its heavy and wide tail. The animal's head was flat, almost crocodile-like in its structure. As the girls looked up in horror, the beast began making its way into the city, it's tail knocking down several small buildings as it swayed side-to-side, slowly vanishing into the winding streets of Canterlot. "Hey, where did Jake go?!" Twilight asked as the girls hurried off into the city. Already, buildings were crumbling as the creature walked past, as though not even acknowledging that it was trampling over several people. The girls watched with a grave sense of helplessness as the city's police force began opening fire at the animal, to no avail. A helicopter began hovering past, one officer launching a rocket at the creature's throat, which seemed to inflict some pain. The animal roared, before the girls turned around and noticed that its tail had begun to glow blue, the light travelling up the beast's neck as it growled before firing a thin beam of energy from its mouth, sweeping across the air to wipe out a group of helicopters and later moving it across the ground, wiping out large groups of people and demolishing several buildings in seconds. The monster spun around, redirecting the beam toward the girls. They huddled around each other, closing their eyes as they prepared to be obliterated.........and then it stopped. Pinkie Pie opened one of her eyes and looked up "OHMYGOSH YOU GUYS THERE'S A ROBOT!!!" She screamed as the other girls looked up to see a large humanoid mech gripping the monster by its upper jaw before delivering a downward punch into its forehead. It roared as the machine continued to throw punches, knocking the beast back a couple times with each hit. Just as it was about to deliver a knock-out blow, the creature's tail swung around and slammed the machine into a building. It got up and pulled out a sun-shaped shield just as the monster attempted another strike with its tail. The robot then jumped over the monster's back, its right hand slowly morphing into an extended arm cannon, charging up and quickly firing a white-and-black energy ball into the monster's body, knocking it sideways and causing it to fall. Just as the monster began to rise up for another attack, the machine grabbed it by the tail and, with all its might, began to lift it off the ground. Twilight's hands began to twitch as she sensed a magical presence coming from the mecha. Before she could speak, the rest of the girls stood in amazement as the monster was flung across the city and simply tossed into the ocean. They all stood there, with their mouths gaping open, as the robot bent down and held out its hand for the girls to climb onto. Before they obeyed, they heard a very familiar voice. "You have to come with us, quickly". //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: Celestia's Secret //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: Celestia's Secret "You wanted to see me, Sister?" Vice Principal Luna asked, as she silently closed the office door behind her. Standing on the other side of the desk was Principal Celestia, who was observing a series of blueprints laid out on the desk. "Um...sister?" Celestia looked up from the blueprints to acknowledge her sister's presence. "Yes, I did. Thank you for coming on such short notice. There's...something important I need to discuss with you" She sighed slightly as she turned one of the blueprints around so Luna can read it. She looked down at the blueprint, which displayed a wireframe image of a robotic figure, with several bullet points detailing the mech's weight, height and various weaponry. What stuck out to Luna was the name giving to the robot, Gipsy Avenger. She turned the blueprint around and grabbed another, which displayed a robot named Bracer Phoenix. She took another, for Saber Athena and then a final blueprint for a figure given the name Guardian Bravo. She looked back up at her sister once she was done. "What is all of this, sister? Some sort of advanced science project for Twilight?" She asked. Celestia was hesitant at first to answer, moving to a painting hung on the back wall, shifting it to reveal a red button, which she gently pressed. The wall opened up, revealing a secret elevator. Celestia stood to the side, gesturing for Luna to step inside, which she slowly did. As the elevator descended, the two sisters were silent. Luna had many questions for her sister, but could not decide where to start. The hidden elevator behind the wall, or the blueprints...it was all so sudden to Luna, and she didn't know what to make of it. At least, not until she stepped out of the elevator. What stood before Luna was a hidden underground factory, with four robots being repaired and upgraded below. They were the four robots from the blueprints; and Luna's jaw dropped in awe as Celestia walked in front of her and smiled brightly. "Welcome to the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps"
