Please tell me about any grammar mistakes you will find. I will try my best to correct it. It was idea of me and my friend and we are still working on continuation of this story. I thought that the Princesses are fine with each other, that their "rule" if I can call it that, was split between them, I thought that I would live like a normal unicorn in Canterlot... but everything changed that night. I once heard a voice singing, and I already knew who it was; it was Princess Luna, but... different. In that voice......, there were so many emotions; disappointment, jealousy, but mostly anger. Soon after the song ended, I looked up at the main palace where the Princesses lived and I saw it.....the whole palace had changed, not by form, but by emblems and colors. Normally it had sun on walls and roof and walls has been white and roof was purple, but now. It was moon and nothing more than moon and black color that were covering it. A minute after that "change" there it started....a fight. First that minute of silence a shortly after, the roof exploded and i saw both princesses....fighting. It was exiting on one side but at the other....dark and sad. After five minutes of epic fighting, silence and both sisters had distance between them, and than they both started to glow and oh sweet Celestia that was a glow of century I would say, and then two lighing beams against each other, coming from both sisters against one another.....I really don´t remember it to the details, but it sure is a story that is worth it. After an epic blow from center of the beams one light was lost in the dark of the night. And the other returned to the palace. I was so confused what to do, but I´ve decided to go home after guards began to fly to the palace. And so it´s today the first day after that and princess called all people of equestria to tell us what happened. When she told us I could not believe what I heard, the princess of the night princess Luna.....become enemy of equestria. When she told word "enemy" she did not told that easy just like that, she told it with unbelievable set of tears flowing from her eyes. I can´t believe that she even stand after those words. We´ve all been sended home to rest because of this morning call and because of preparations for something bad....really bad. ********************** "Hmm this seems interesting, hey BronzeHoof I found something." "And what is it?" "Some sort of......diary I think." "Really? And whats written in it?" "Well obviously nothing about cooking." "...….Dumbass." "It´s someones whole life, you know back when civil war was here?" "Yes..." "This is someone who lived at that age." "Listen here, today I....." ********************** //-------------------------------------------------------// First Chapter //-------------------------------------------------------// First Chapter ********************** just walked to my job as I usually do, but I little overslept that day and well what to say I was late. When I arrived at forge and my boss saw me he immediately rushed to me. "Finally, what took you so long." I was trying to explain, but I did not have a chance. Boss was usually calm and concentrated stallion even if somepony was late, but today he was……..angry, and for the first time I saw him like this. "Okey we will solve this later, now come with me." "I...I don´t understand any of this, what is happening." "Look we got a situation, this morning Princess Celestia herself came in and ordered me to create as much swords and spikes as I can, and she also told me to borrow some workers to the other forges, so this is it if you don´t have any questions then start working." I was in shock when he told me that. "W.....w.....w.....okey if I overlook that you just told me situation under 10 seconds I have some questions like, why do we have to create as much weapons as we can, why we have to create them and most mainly HOW MUCH of them we must create." "Look right now I can answer only to one of them…...war is coming" And then just like that, he went back to help other workers. I could barely believe that……...equestria has been over thousand years in peace and harmony and now we are preparing to war, but against who or what I wonder. After shift when everypony leaved forge I stayed and told that I want to help create more "Look I understand that you want help, but I just don´t have bits to pay you more and...." "No" I stopped him "I will do it for free, because I understand situation." I swear to Celestia that in that moment his eyes began to sparkle, and after that he began to cry. "...….thank you so much it means lot to me." "It´s really nothing" And after that we both continued at work. We created at least 250 weapons on that shift. ********************** "Wow this stallion sure had nuts." "He sure did" "Well what´s next?" ********************** When it was 5 AM and we both were really tired, Princess Celestia herself visited our forge and with sad face she asked us. "How much of a progress had you done?" Then boss speaked "Well princess there has been some, but I´em also afraid that it isn´t enough for whole army." "I understand that everypony is working very hard to help, and I´em also happy to see that you made this much in 1 day with such low number of workers." "Thank you for your sympathy and patience princess." "Well I will send soldiers to deliver those weapons to the palace immediately." And what Princess Celestia told, happened. Few hours later I was walking streets of canterlot. When I was in the market nothing special happened. Citizens were shopping as usually. After that I went to the palace, look to training ground that were once silent as night, but now......damn that action. Multiple squads were training. Attack, defense and other military stuff. Then I headed to my home. When I was near I suddenly heard something. I headed to the source and as I was closer and closer it more likely reminded of voices, but not just few but at least hundred. When I arrived at the source of sound I saw that.......the whole crowd of ponies. They were screaming, roaring and shouting and they had something above they´re heads whitch seemed like posters of moon symbol and they were shouting something like "we want Luna" and "return our night princess." I asked somepony in the crowd what is happening "Hey......ehm can you please tell me what is happening here?" Dark blue stallion answered "Isn´t it obvious, we want our night princess back" He said angry. "We want justice, we want end the rule of the sun." "We want moon!! We want moon!!" And as he begin to shout "we want moon" the others began to shout it too. I was really shocked that somepony is mad at Celestia and for the very first time I was afraid that Celestia might go away, sure there has been some protest before, but this.....I headed home after I saw some guards runned down from the palace. On the way I was thinking about the whole accident that happened. Why would anypony get mad even hate Celestia. ********************** "Damn could you imagine how much of ponies must have been there" said Silver "I think.........a lot" ".......You are an idiot" "Shut up and read, what happened next?" ********************** Next day I woke up and headed to my the forge again. On the way I saw that same street where were protests last night and it looked...devastated. Broken signs on ground, even some flags with symbol of moon. I again was shocked and stunned on place. After a minute of staring at that mess I get myself going. As I came to the forge boss granted me. "Oh here is one of my best workers, how was your break?" "Great after what we did at night." "Yeah, well again thank you so much for help I really appreciate it." "It was nothing sir really." After our little chat I began to work. After work I went home. But at my way home I again heard sounds and not only heard, but now I saw it too. And it was bigger than the last time.......a LOT bigger. I hided at nearby bush and watched. This time protestants had bigger flag bigger signs and newly torches. They were not standing as the last time now they were marching.......to the palace. In the last row of protestants I saw something that looked like homemade bows. And guards that were guarding the bridge to the palace didn´t saw that. So I decided to warn them. Sadly I cannot perform much spells, but lucky I know the "short-range teleport" spell. So I stood up next to the wall and used spell. And like in blink of an eye I was up on the wall. "Thanks for my ´elementary magic school´" I said and I landed on the other side of the wall. Then I runned to guards that were guarding the bridge. "HEEEY I have something REALLY important to tell you!!" One of the guards looked at me and pointed a spear at me "Stop right there!" "What no I have something REALLY important to tell you." As I approached him, but he pushed me back and then on the ground. "Hey what the hell are you doing I em trying to help you!" "You are just another protestant and like that you will be inprisoned." "What NO!!" I shouted and kicked him back. "Look I´em trying to help you, but you must listen to me. Those protestants have..." "Shut up you traitor!" I was cut off by him. "You will be imprisoned and..." He was cut off by some stallion that stepped out of the shadows. "What is happening here?" Said stallion. "Sir one of the protestants tried to infiltrate us from inside" "That´s NOT true you....AH please just listen to me!" "No room for traitors like you to speak!"Said guard. "Wait." Stallion said as he hold guard back. "Let him speak, what do you want here?" Said stallion. "I want to warn you." "From what?" "Those protestants have bows in their last row!" "Interesting......Private go for more troops we gonna need some reinforcements, and you will come with me don´t worry I will not imprison you we are gonna watch from watchtower above what will happen" "O..okey" I said as we went to the watchtower above us. When we were there reinforcements arrived and we watched as they approached protestants with magic shields and swords. "Moment of truth" Said stallion as we watched as protestands really used their bow´s "It seems you said truth, good work.....because of you the palace and princess can have a good sleep tonight." "Thank you sir, it was honor to help royal guards." "Well I´em technically more at Equestrian army than royal guards, what´s your name boy?" "M...my name is Iron Heart sir." "Good, well now that I know your name it´s only fair that you will know mine, my name is Duck Keeper nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you too sir." "Technically it´s sergeant, but I will overlook it this time." "Oh sorry sir I didn´t know." "It´s okey, well If you are intrested in defending princess, people of Equestria and Equestria herself you can join our forces." In that moment I was really REALLY shocked. "Well i...it sounds really interesting, but I don´t know, I have job and other things." "It´s okey you don´t have to answer now, go home and think about it and if you are interested in joining us then tomorrow we are recruiting volunteers at the barracks, and in case that you don´t know where are barracks it´s that building on the left with red roof." "O...okey sir I will think of it, so thanks for the offer and see you later" "Bye Iron, take care of yourself." When I arrived I met my boss. "Hi there Iron, did you slept well?" "Well yeah kind of." "Oh okey and by the way I heard what happened last night, you know that thing with protestants. And I must say I´em proud of you." "Well thanks, but how do you know about that?" "Well you know some guards entered our forge this morning and after they questioned me on progress with weapons and armor they started about SOMEPONY who saved night guard patrol from dying, SOMEPONY with blonde mane and red coat and SOMEPONY really familiar to you." "Okey busted it was me." "And I´em so proud of you and," He stepped closer to me and putted a hoof on my shoulder. "I think your parents would be proud too." "I hope so." "I know so" He said. "And I aslo know that some commander gave you opportunity to join the army." "Well yeah, I met him and his name was Duck Keeper I think and he really said I should join, but still it´s an army and I´em only.....well me." "Yeah and that´s why I think you should join, because you are you." "Yeah but.......I just don´t know." "It´s okey, if I know they are not recruiting only today so you got time to think about it." "Yeah you are right." Then a moment of silence. "Well let´s get to work, it will help you clear your mind." "Yeah you are right as always.......thank you." "Anytime my friend." And after that we again began to work. After work I headed home. Somehow that day I decided to change my way home this time over the main square on the second level of the city. As I was nearing the square I hearded sounds of protests. "Not again." I said to myself. When I was around the corner I saw protestants......again. So I decided that it would be best if I go and call guards, but before I could do anything one of the ponies stepped in front of me and started talking. "Hey where are you going the big thing is about to start." He then grabbed me and pulled me to the crowd of protestants. He must have thought that I´am one of them. As I was pulled through the crowd I heard something about fire and emblem. "Finally it is here," mysterious stallion shouted from wooden stage "now we will finally show Celestia and her supporters that Princess Luna will bring peace and harmony to Equestria" said mysterious stallion. "Long live Princess Luna!!" shouted crowd of protestants next to me. This is madness, I thought to myself as I slowly tried to leave the crowd. When I was at something like edge of the crowd I decided to run away. Unfortunately somepony saw me and shouted. "Traitor!!" stallion shouted as he pointed with his hoof on me after that one pony at a time looked behind. Then next thing I know are words "Traitor" shouting behind me and me running for my life. When I was at the entrance of palace I finally stopped. As I nearly collapsed from exhaustion I heard those protestants again. I won´t deny that I was scared also as minutes passed by I started wondering "where are those night guards? Shouldn´t they guard the entrance by now." As I was wondering I heard protestants getting closer and closer. Then I fall on the ground exhausted. At that point I was practically begging for help as they approached me and suddenly I fainted and all I remember was sound of blades. I woke up in shock. "W-what happened" "You are safe now" voice talked to me "you have been sleeping for two days now." "T-two days….." then I realized what happened "wait what happened, are the guards okey? What about the protestants" "Told you he would freak out, you owe me twenty bits" "Yeah yeah whatever" As two voices talked I could recognize one, but the other I could not. "Anyway see ya on the training grounds" "You too" Then I looked at the silhouette standing next to me, as the moments passed I could saw who it was. "Duck Keeper?.....AH I mean Keeper I mean sir" I said as I raised up my hand to salute "It´s good to see you again Iron Heart, but it´s bad that in this state" "Yeah" I said with little giggle "Anyway what do you remember?" "Well just sound of blades and darkness before my eyes" "Hmm….." "Anyway what happened when I passed out? You helped me?" "Well kinda yeah, I realized that because of these protests it would be matter of time before something like attack would happen so I went to the princess telling her about it and my solution which was that the night guards should be guarding the main entrance through the night and because I have one good friend who is the nightguard I said that he would guard it with his team and it was useful as I see" "Well yeah…..Em is there something that I can do to repay my rescue?" "No need of that it´s our duty to help, but if you want to "repay" us for your rescue then there are two options to do it, one don´t get in contact with protestants again or you can join us" "Me? Joining the army?" I was once again shocked "Yeah you could help us fight for equestria, the true equestria, but I talked to you about this once already didn´t I, tell me have anything changed?" I thinked about the forge and about the incident that happened. It was true I still wanted the normal life and all, but if I take the chance that something like that might happen again to me or anypony else. "Well I let you think about it" he said as he was going away "You know what" he suddenly stopped "I might not be the best soldier under the sun" he turned his head little to the right just enough so he can hear me "but I really can´t carry the thought of this happening again to me or to anypony" he began to smile "It´s settled then" he said "I want to see you tomorrow at the training grounds" he said as he turned enough to make eye contact "Yes sir" I said with salute He than smiled and went away, I knew that it will be hard, but thought of something like that happen again to anypony, I can´t just stare and do nothing I must fight and I will fight for better equestria. ********************** "Well that´s some bravery" "Well obviously, who don´t have bravery at situations like this" said Bronze "Yes, but after what he went through I mean he almost died and he just stand up and fight that true bravery" "Yeah yeah whatever what´s next?" ********************** *
