Episode 4: Elements of Harmony

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Sapphire found herself in white, space-like void with stars all over. "Woah... what is this place." Then a figure appeared. It was teenage boy with blue hair and his skin was peach colored. “Who are you?”

“My name is Flash Sentry. I am a friend of Sunset and her friends. I am here to tell you about the other Elements of Harmony."

"Sunset said they are powerful artifacts."

"That is correct. The other five Elements of Harmony are hidden in a secret temple. Only a person who had proven their worthiness can unlock the powers of the Elements." Sapphire nodded. Suddenly, the void began to waver, "What's going on?"

"You are beginning to awaken, I must go now, but I'll leave you this one clue to the Elements; look behind your locker. Good luck, Sapphire and Farewell." In a bright flash of white, everything faded out.

Sapphire awoke in a shock. Her dream seemed all too real, she believed it was true. If she was going to find the rest of the Elements of Harmony, she’s going to need help. She gathered up all the rangers and Twilight and they met at the outdoor cafe for a quick breakfast and told them about her dream.

“You’re sure about this?” asked Twilight. “I’m positive.” replied Sapphire.

Sunset rubbed her chin. "This is weird, in my home-world, when ponies have dreams like that it’s usually for a reason, like a message. Wonder why Sapphire got something like that?"

"I know it sounds crazy, but I think we should trust in what Flash had to say.”

A moment of silence followed, and Rainbow broke the silence saying, “I believe you…”

“So do I.” added Buddy.

Sapphire felt a little flattered, “You do?”

Rhymey nodded and explained,

“For three years we’ve had strange powers and fought evil beasts,
After all that’s happened, nothing seems impossible to say the least.”

Fluttershy agreed, “How can we not believe you? Besides, if it’ll help us beat Nacluv, who are we to question?”

Sunset smiled warmly was most thankful for her friends, but neither she nor the others realized that Keto was hiding behind the corner and listening to everything they said. “Wait until I tell Nacluv this!”

He got back to the tower and told Nacluv Marla and Bronc. "You sure this isn't a hoax, Keto?" Nacluv asked.

"Yes, master, the rangers are going on a little treasure hunt to find the remaining Elements of Harmony, which they plan to use against us.”

Bronc winced once, “Oh, are they now?”

Marla poked into the room, “Elements? Power…? Sounds like something maybe we could use as well. We’ll just have to find them before they do.”

“…And I know just the monster that can help us.” Bronc added.

He led his comrades to a cage where a monster named Prospector sat. He looked very much like his name, a plump yet strong looking monster, with a shaggy beard and a bent up cowboy hat. He was armed with sticks of dynamite on a sash, a strong shovel and a sharp pick on his back. His weapons couldn’t help him while he was locked up, but he was very surprised when his cell was opened. “What in tarnation is goin’ on?” he asked.

“Get up, Prospector!” said Bronc “You’re coming with us on a little treasure hunt.”

At first, Prospector didn’t seem interested, “I’ve been in this here cell for over a-hundred years, and I ain’t about to leave for…” he suddenly snapped upright, “…“Treasure” did you say? Well, saddle up and let’s ride! YEE-HAW!!”

Marla and Keto were starting to feel unimpressed.

Meanwhile, the rangers contacted Celesto and asked for him to unlock the school. When he was told of Sapphire's dream, he, too, was rather enthusiastic of seeking the remaining Elements of Harmony. Sapphire was wearing her Loyalty element bracelet, just to be safe.

It was rather dark inside the school. All the lights were out, and all the windows were covered with shade flaps to keep the sunlight out of the building and heating things up over the holidays. It was still bright enough to see where to go anyway, and everyone took a moment to pass Flash’s memorial plaque in the school entrance hall. It read…

“Dedicated to the memory of Flash Sentry.
A strong-minded individual who showed us all the true meaning of honor, and that sometimes, life and people’s actions are not actually carved in stone, but you can choose how to shape it.”

The rangers and Celesto held their heads low, taking a moment to remember him, and though Twilight didn’t know him that well, she bowed too.

Spike poked his head out from Twilight’s knapsack, “Um, remind me what happened again?” he asked. “I’m not trying to be disrespectful.”

Rhymey filled in everything with his rhymes.

“The real human called Flash had died long ago
And this Flash took his place, this we did not know,
Until he and his mother revealed who they were,
…Evil aliens or wickedness and power!

They sought to control our world as it was,
And Lightning Dawn came to stop their cause
It was there that we first gain our powers and might,
And we confronted they aliens and engaged in a fight.

In the end, Flash’s mother had been destroyed,
While her son was attacked, turned humanoid,
His evil power had gone, they were no longer there
But Flash lost his memories, and his mind was bare.

So he lived the life of a normal Earth boy
There were many things that he did enjoy.
Then, a while back, while we were all at camp
The Sirens and the Demonites did tramp,

These evildoers reawakened Flash’s mind,
The memories of his evil ways he had left behind.
His powers crept forth, and while he became very strong,
He chose not to be evil, he knew that was wrong.

He could never betray the goodness he had come to great terms
So he fights on our side against the evil worms!
The battle was won, and victory was claimed
But Flash had been struck, he was badly maimed.

He died right there, he had met with his end.
We were all heartbroken to have lost our dear friend.
So we made this plaque to honor his memory.
And that brings me to the end of this summary.”

Rhymey clutched his chest, feeling deeply moved by his own poetry. The others all felt deeply moved. “That was beautiful, Rhymey.” said Celesto “Very moving.”

Fluttershy held her boyfriend’s hand to calm him, and Rhymey caught hold of himself.

“Okay, what was it that Flash told you, Sapphire?” Rainbow asked. “He told me to look behind my locker locker.” replied Sapphire.

The rangers went to Sapphire's locker, it was near Sunset's locker. There was no lock on the door, but the locker was completely empty inside. “Great! Nothing at all.” groaned Spike, “Maybe it was just a dream after all.”

Sapphire shook her head; “Flash said to look BEHIND the locker, which may mean…” she reached out for the coat-hook on the back of the locker and just as she thought, it was a fake wall that fell forward revealing a hole in the solid school wall.

“Incredible.” said Celesto. He examined the hole, “This alcove has been carved out of this solid concrete, and yet it was here all the time and no one noticed.”

“Can you see anything?” asked Fluttershy.

Celesto switched on the built-in flashlight in his walking-stick to see. The alcove was very small, but there was a small metal box inside it.

“What is that?” asked Buddy.

Nobody could tell, but Celesto opened it, and inside was nothing more than an ordinary white stone with a hint of blue.

Twilight scanned it with her alien-tracker, “It’s definitely not of Earth origin, but I can figure out what it is.”

“I know what it is.” Sunset said as she took the stone, “I used to study these things back in my world. This is a location stone. It acts like a sort of radar whenever you’re near something magically linked to it. The Elements must’ve been hidden away and enchanted this stone to help him find it.”

“Well that’s fine and all, but how do we use it to find the power?” asked Rainbow. That's when the stone began glowing brightly and floated into the air and into Sapphire's arms. Suddenly, she began glowing brightly as well, "Umm... guys." she whimpered. Next, there was a bright flash.

The rangers, Celesto and Twilight covered their eyes cause of the flash. When it was gone..

"Wh-What happened?" Fluttershy asked.

Everybody gasped when they saw Sapphire... was gone! All that was left was a scorch mark. "Sapphire! Where'd she go!" Rainbow said.

"That stone must have teleported her." replied Sunset.

"TELEPORTED!" Everybody cried

"To where?" Spike asked.

"That's the question."

The rangers were now getting worried. "Let's get to the base. Maybe I can track her." Twilight suggested. Everybody agreed and they rushed to the base, hoping their friend was okay.

The minions and Prospector peeked out of the bush nearby. "Great, now we'll never get those Elements." Marla whined.

"Quit your belly achin'. I can track treasure from miles away. He held up his treasure detecting device. "Aha! Got her! Follow me!" Prospector flew off and the minions shrugged and followed.

In a puff of smoke, Sapphire appeared on her stomach in the middle of very lush forest and the stone was at her side.

“*Cough Cough* Wh-What happened?” Looking around she didn’t find any sign of her friends.

“Sunset... Lightning.... Anybody?” She called out but got nothing in response. “Okay, so I’m all alone in a big, scary forest with no supplies and just a glowing stone.” Sapphire said to herself. “Well I do have my morpher, so that’s good.” Seeing the stone starting to blink slowly, she knew she had to continue on. “Well I’d better find the Elements and hope my friends find me.”

With that, she walked off into the forest holding the stone. Passing tall trees and hearing the sounds of monkey screeching and birds chirping, Sapphire just continued on.

Walking further into the forest, Sapphire noticed the stone glowing brighter and faster. Soon, she came to a hill and saw, in the distance, a temple covered in vines and a few bushes. "Woah, looks like I found the temple. Let's hope the Elements are in there." Sapphire carefully walked down the hill and soon found herself at the entrance to the temple. The door was closed.

"Wonder how I get in." she saw that the door had a hole shaped like a bracelet. "Weird, that looks like my Element Bracelet. But that's back at the base." As soon as she said that, her Element bracelet appeared, floating in the air. The Element magically went into the hole and the whole door glowed and opened, revealing a dark hallway. "Well... I guess I go in." She took the bracelet out of the hole and entered the temple.

Marla and the others poked their heads of some bushes. "Well I'll be darn. This temple his huge!" Prospector exclaimed. "Hurry, let's get in there before the door closes!" added Bronc. The monsters quickly followed and made it in side as the doors closed with a SLAM.

It was pitch black in the temple. Sapphire could barely see a foot in front of her. "Great. How am I supposed to see?"

The stone began shimmering, lighting up some of the hallway. "Well, that's helpful." Sapphire slowly walked down the hallway. On the walls were animal drawings, from footprints to ancient animals, like mammoths and saber-toothed cats. Sapphire was amazed by this. "Incredible. What my friends wouldn't give to see this." Soon she came to a large room that had a spiral on the ground and pedestal in the center.

Sapphire walked over to the pedestal. "I wonder." she placed the stone onto the pedestal and immediately, it started glowing as well as the spiral on the ground. In an instant, the ground gave out from under Sapphire. "Uh-oh." she squeaked.

She fell down for quite some distance before slamming into the ground on her stomach. "Uuugggh. That hurt."

Getting to her feet, she found herself in a cavern. The walls were sparkling with crystals. At the end of the cavern, she saw something she didn't expect to see. Five jewelry items. She already has her loyalty element.

Then, all of the Elements floated into the air and fused together, turning into a sword.

Next, the top of her head glowed and another elements appeared. This one was a magenta five-pointed star.

The sword floated into her hand. "Woah. Now what?"

"You had over that sword. That's what." Sapphire gasped in horror and turned around. She saw Marla, Bronc, Keto and Prospector slowly walking towards her threateningly.

“W-What are you doing here?” she asked nervously.

“Why else?” Keto replied. “For you powers, including the sword.”

“Hand it over, missy, and no one gets hurt.” Prospector threatened.

Sapphire held the sword tightly and backed away from the villains as they stalked towards her, “Just hand over the staff, ranger.” Marla added.

“N-Never!”

“Oh yes.” Bronc snickered. “Since you’re not giving us the sword willingly, we’ll have to take it by force.” The villains were only a feet away from Sapphire when…

“Comet Trail... Fire!”

The villains were hit and sent flying back. “Guys!” she cried happily. The rangers leaped down from the ceiling in front of Sapphire.

“Are you okay, Sapphire?” Sunset asked.

“I am now,” she responded. "How'd you find me?"

"Twilight tracked your DNA to this temple. We noticed the minions and the monster were here as well. We knew they were trying to steal the elements from you, so we came here as fast as we could.

“You rangers always ruin our plans.” Keto snarled. The villains stood up again and charged the rangers. The rangers charged the and brawled.

Marla battled with Buddy and Sunset, punching and kicked them hard, and while they blocked her attacks with their arms and legs, she tripped them up with her long hair. “Have a nice trip?” she teased, and then she launched her nails at them. The two rangers barely managed to roll out of the way, but as they looked ahead, they could see Prospector…!

“Give it up missy.” Prospector demanded. Sapphire backed away in fear.

Rhymey and Fluttershy saw the monster and dashed for him, “Oh, no you don’t!” Keto sneered, and he raised his staff shouting, “Surge Song!” casting his mugic upon himself, his comrades and Prospector, increasing their strengths and speed.

“Nice!” hissed Marla, and she punched Buddy and Sunset hard in their chests making sparks fly.

Bronc blasted Rainbow hard and Keto took one swing of his staff, like a bat, and sent Rhymey and Fluttershy soaring off and crashing onto the ground.

“Guys..!!” Sapphire cried. Just then, Marla wrapped Comet up in her hair, forcing her to drop the sword. “No!” She cried. The villains chuckled and Keto approached it, “This thing's as good as ours!” he declared.

“Not good!” Sunset cried.

However, when Keto touched the sword, it shocked him with high voltage of electricity, sending him flying back and the into Marla, freeing Sapphire. “Watch it!” Marla grunted.

“It’s not my fault!” Keto retorted, “the thing shocked me!”

“Umm, Guys.” Bronc said, pointing at the sword, which was now floating in the air and glowing. “What’s going on?” Lightning asked. None of the others knew what was happening.

The sword floated into Sapphire's hand and made her glow as well. “Let’s see what this baby can do!” She exclaimed. She slashed the air and the sword released a pulse of magic, striking the villains hard.

Sapphire stuck the sword into the ground. It created a shockwave of power, throwing the villains into a wall! "Awesome!" Rainbow cried.

"Amazing!" Sunset added.

The monsters got up. "Now! Sapphire concentrated and the sword glowed. She twirled the sword in front of her like a staff and the five elements symbols appeared in front of her, glowing with power. "HARMONIC FURY!" All the elements shot towards the villains at blinding speeds. "Let's split!" Keto cried.

"For once I agree!" Bronc agreed and he and Marla teleported to the Tower, leaving Prospector alone. "Hey!"

The blast struck Prospecter. "I'm beaten by the treasure!" he cried as he fell over, exploded and was imprisoned in sphere. Sapphire smirked, "That's how it's done." The other rangers went up to her. "That was incredible, Sapphire!" Sunset cried.

"Thanks."

Lightning took a good look at the sword. "Impressive sword, Sapphire."

"Now can we go home now?" Sapphire asked. "I've had enough excitement for one day." The rangers chuckled and they all the way home to Mystic Island.

At the tower, Nacluv was watching the video the minions got from their battle. "This girl is very powerful. I'll have to test her; one-on-one. She may have won this round, but she won't win the next round." he laughed evilly.

At the base, Twilight was scanning the sword. "Anything?" Celesto asked.

"It appears this sword is a combination of the Elements of Harmonys' magic. It also appears to be and only be responsive to Sapphire's voice."

"So she the only one who can use it?" Fluttershy asked. Twilight nodded.

"Well look on the bright side, Sapphire has her won weapon now." Rainbow reassured.

Celesto sighed, "While that is true, Rainbow Dash, I believe we should let Sapphire master her magic first before she attempts to master her magical artifact." The rangers sighed sadly but he had a point.

"Looks like you'll have to wait until you'll be able to use your sword." Lightning claimed. Sapphire smiled, "That's okay, I have enough powers to use in battle already." The ranges all smiled at Sapphire.
