Rainbow vs. Lightning
Chapter 1: That Certain Somepony...
High in the clouds above Equestria, Rainbow Dash was flying through the skies a Wonderbolt. She has made a name for herself in the organization, fulfilling many deeds and duties up to Spitfire's expectations. Her big following was no surprise; a massive amount of fans would show up whenever she did a performance wherever they visited (especially Scootaloo). It seemed RD had it all.
But while she was flying through the skies, she saw a certain pegasi observing her. Rainbow looked at the pegasi, and decided to ignore it at first. But as time passed, the pegasi was still looking at RD, which led her to address the mysterious figure.
She approaches pegasi wearing a black hoodie. The pegasi drops down her hoodie; it was her former friend.
"LD? What are you doing up here?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Well, see you be a proud Wonderbolt while I'm taking dirt, reminiscing what could have been. Least I got the Washouts." replied Lightning Dust.
"You're still obsessed about that Wonderbolt thing? You should move on from that." replied Rainbow.
"If it wasn't for Princess Twilight..." said Lightning.
"Ay, don't you blame her for that." Rainbow crossed her hooves. "You know that was your fault putting ponies in harm's way."
"I wanted to impress Spitfire." said Lightning.
"'Impress Spitfire' my ass! If you did that anywhere else you'd been fired!" replied Rainbow. "Oh, the group you've made is pretty cool, but you still had no regard for Scootaloo!
"She volunteered..." replied Lightning.
Still though... said Dash.
Then Rainbow's fellow colleague showed up.
"Crash, we got a mission to do! And you, don't interfere with our job or otherwise I'm reporting you to Spitfire." said Soarin.
"Alright, I'm coming just give me a second! yelled Rainbow. "Look, we'll discuss more of this later, I've got work to do."
Rainbow joined Soarin, and continued the mission flying off in the distance. Lightning flew back down to the ground, disappointed in what happened. She headed for a bar outside of town.
After completing the mission, Rainbow headed down to the Sugarcube Corner telling her friends of what happened. Pinkie served all of them with drinks.
"Lightning Dust still can't forget about what happened to her. Literally. She still can't get it out of her head. She needs to move on." said Rainbow. "I plan on ignoring her though."
"Why so?" asked Fluttershy.
"Her and I still have some bad beef. I doubt talking will simply resolve it." replied Rainbow.
"I hope she doesn't try to be Wonderbolt again. Man, ponies like her ruin the good nature of organizations like the Wonderbolts with her reckless behavior. I'm surprised she hasn't become a Shadowbolt." said Rarity.
"The Shadowbolts aren't that notorious anymore since Luna returned." replied Rainbow. "Besides, you all saw her perform with her troupe The Washouts a few days ago."
"Ignoring, huh? said Spike. "That reminds me of the whole situation with Glimmer and Sunburst while we were in the Crystal Empire for the Crystalling."
"If it worked out for Glimmer, I'm sure talking it out to get over certain differences with work out for you." added in Twilight. "I'm sure since Lightning and you have a ton in common, maybe you can find some middle ground and re-establish the friendship that ended at the Academy."
"Hey now, don't go that far just yet. Talking to Lightning Dust feels like a bit uncomfortable thing to do, but of course we gotta get out of our comfort zone now and then." said Rarity. "You two have alot in common; I'm sure you can agree on something.
"Hopefully so..." replied Rainbow.
When they were finished chilling out at the Corner, all of the Six headed on to their homes. Rainbow flew out towards her home the Cloudominium. There she fed Tank before going to bed, and called it a day.
Meanwhile in Griffonstone...
The town looked depressing as usual. It was raining that day. Lots and lots of griffons flew around the place. Some were just going about their day relaxing in the town, others flew away to meet with friends or relatives who moved away from Griffonstone after it's government collapsed. Lightning Dust was paying a former friend of Dash a visit. She had something in store; an offer that one could not resist.
When Dust arrived, she knocked on the door of the griffon's home. The door opened with the blue one responding.
"Hello there, who are you? said Gabby.
"Just a pony who wants to meet with Gilda. I heard she knew Rainbow Dash well." said Lightning.
"Who comes by this house here? asked Grampa Gruff.
"A visitor who wants to see a griffon that knows RD." replied Gabby.
"a magician right?" asked Grampa Gruff.
No, just let the pony in." said Gilda.
"You better not be making any wrongdoing in here." replied Grampa Gruff.
Lightning walked into the house and Gabby closed the door. Gilda gave her a dirty look.
"What do you want?" asked Gilda.
"Listen G, I have a big surprise for Rainbow Crash in store." said Lightning.
"Oh, really?" said Glida. "Like I care about what she and Pinkie Pie have done. I've tried out being kind and it ain't working out so far."
"It's not that though, it's something else." replied Lightning
"This better not be some bullshit you giving me here." said Gilda.
"So you know the Wonderbolts right? Well, I want you to spread some misinformation about Rainbow. replied Lightning. Trust me, it'll really hurt her rep. I promise cash in return for you to move out of this place."
"Interesting..." said Gilda.
"Meet me at the center of Ponyville tomorrow with my Washouts. Were gonna discuss plans on how to spread the gossip and really hurt her hard."
"I'm in. It's about time this dweeb feels the both of us." replied Glida.
"Sounds to me like we have a deal." said Lightning.
The pony and griffon shook hands with a smirk knowing what they were getting themselves into. The two walked to the door with Gilda opening it for Lightning. She headed flying out of Griffonstone to meet up with her Washouts. Gilda closed the door with Guff asking her a question.
"What was all that talk about?"
"Don't worry Gruff, it's nothing involving you. But trust me, you really don't wanna know..."
