Throughout Equestria’s history since its founding, there is one secret that has remained concealed from the world, kept secret by the most distinguish of nobles and even by the Princesses themselves: a prophecy. A prophecy that foretells the coming of a second Great Winter, larger than the last and foretold to cover the entirety of the world in snow and darkness, to last for all time, ruled by its harbinger, a great archwolf, and his pack of monstrous wolves. This second Great Winter, to dwarf all other cold and unforgiving winters, is known as Fimbulwinter.

Following a supposedly normal day in Ponyville, the skies soon darken, the air drops to freezing levels, and a torrent of snow begins to fall from the sky, enveloping the land below in a blanket of white. Soon after, a pack of monstrous wolves appear and begin spreading fear and panic across the nation, forcing many creatures to seek shelter in their homes.

On this day, Fimbulwinter begins.

Yet, hope may still remain, as the prophecy failed to incorporate one thing: a group of friends consisting of different races.
