The Stone Shouldn't Follow The Stream
It didn't know how long it had stayed, years, decades, centuries maybe being alone in this cruel world. For who knew how long, it waited, waited for the end of its life or wait for the supposed superior ones. The ones that were said to be beings that would give purpose to the Stone. Not out of love, but because the Stone were pathetic creatures that that need to be straighten for the order of the beings.
The Stone were a collection of rock creatures that lived in silent suffering lives. They would just lay forever, denying the idea there lay a new life outside of the world because it did not exist. The world of the Stone is all that there is, plain and simple. There lives were nothing more then mere accidents that were unimportant to their world.
And yet, there were a small but passionate few that had said that something about the stream, the only source of water in the Stone world, that had given them a glimpse of something better. They were ridiculed and mocked and were demand to renounce their ideas as its pointless to wish for something better.
But the Few did outright treason when they had enough and followed the stream. The Remaining had viciously condemn them to the Void and it was believed they were sent to it as they never return.
The Remaining were angry and bitter, outright vicious that the Few had the gall to deny the world of the Stone. They held their bitterness to their deaths as they succumb to dust.
All except for the One
The One sat on the cold floor. Struggling with the view points of the Remaining and the Few.
The Remaining claimed that the world was just a waste that hold no meaning. The idea of love, beauty, and joy was unacceptable, if downright heinous to them, that it was foolish to believe in something greater and more expanse then the world.
They're only purpose was to summon the superior ones daily so that they can straighten out the Stone.
The Few believed otherwise, that the idea of the world of the Stone actually is part of a grand and beautiful world. A world where family, love, and most importantly, true purpose that transcends the existing world. Purpose that the Stone had always had but denied it over petty nihilism. That the Stream gave flashes of colors every century, show them that maybe, just maybe, there is something better.
This had lead to many fights as the Remaining refuse to accept that the Stone aren't meant for goodness and all that they see is the true world. They believe the superior ones were just waiting above until they decide to come down. That silly ideas like love and purpose were mere fantasy.
The Few, having enough of the Remaining Stubbornness, left and followed the stream and The Remaining mocked them in vile contempt until their deaths.
The One was hopelessly confused as it struggled. The Stone were led to believe that hope is poison and all that they can see is truth. All there is of the world are rocky walls and daunting stalagmites.
Yet the One, feels something inside, that desired with what the Few were after. A sense of love and sense of purpose. What that love and purpose was, even the Few did not know. But they had said that something inside of them hunger for that and what they hunger is real.
But the One was also afraid, afraid of being saduced by the lie know as hope. It was the ultimate heresy to the Stone. That it is the lies of wishful thinkers and romantics.
The One had sat at the same spot where it begun the struggle of beliefs. Years and years of doubting and fear, which lead to hopelessness and fatigue.
The One then started to get ready to die, to cease to exist and pass on as nothing. For that all it and everything is…nothing. The superior ones would see nothing but rock when they come and the One believed with certainty that they wouldn't care.
That is until it saw something in the stream. It was faint, it almost missed it. It sat up straight, waiting with confusion and…a slight glimmer of hope!?
It felt very foreign and almost disgusting but then something stronger, it didn't knew what, stuffed those emotions down to a crevice.
Finally, after years of sitting, The One stood up and walked up to the stream, which was forbidden by the Remaining. He looked into the stream and with complete shock, colors faintly shined in the water.
It didn't knew what the colors were called but even the slight glimmer of them was beautiful.
The One stood there, stunned and awed by what it had seen.
The One slowly turned toward where he last saw the Few leave.
WIth almost all its strength, it took step by step to finally see what the few came after.
It was hard, as doubts screamed at it to turn around, to give up. But the sense of intense longing and maybe even slight stubbornness.
It didn't knew how long it was walking. It didn't even care, as it felt slight excitement on what is ahead.
Finally, he sees an opening, it was strange, as it looked brighter then the world of the Stone. What light that came out of the hole did not appear in a blackish hue but more grey.
Suddenly, the One felt afraid and dread. The light didn't appear like the colors in the stream. But he was still guided by a fragile hope.
He then walked out of the hole.
He saw nothing.
It was nothing but more things that the world of the Stone had. The area rocks, rocks and more rocks.
Sure it didn't had a ceiling or walls as far as its rock sockets can see. But it gave off the sense of more loneliness as nothing was here.
The Remaining were right, there is nothing.
The One, with without any emotion as it was sucked out from it's being, turned around to walk back to the world of Stone.
But then it looked down.
Right by its feet was a strange sight.
It leaned down to examine the strange thing. It was attached to the ground by a stem. At the end of the stem was an array of soft looking colors. The same ones that were in the stream
The One then plucked it and stand up. The thing was very beautiful. It didn't look like it belong to the world it had just saw.
And yet, it was welcoming.
The thing maybe be the only thing it had saw. But this was what The One needed.
This is what the Few had meant. This is what life is.
It then turned away from the world of stone and headed out in new open world. With the thing clutched proudly in its stony hands.
Pinkie pie felt weird.
After Rainbow Dash did her sonic rainboom, Her pinkie sense made her tummy feel all warm and bright.
It was a new feeling, one she didn't felt before unlike her other sense.
This Feeling was like something had happen that was meant to be done.
"Hey Pinkie, whats with the smile? It's not your usual smiles." Rainbow Dash asked.
Pinkie looked at her friend.
"I don't know, but it felt like someone had found what is true." She claimed
Author's Note
Okay, I did this one shot because I was down in the dumps. About life, about purpose, my faith, everything. So I've decided to put it into words. But I didn't want to end it as some angsty teenager. I wrote it as I do feel something is better out there. Not somewhere in the world, not in space, or anywhere but deep down, there is something better.
I hope you enjoyed this one shot
God Bless
P.S The capitalization of the One, The Few, and Remaining are intentional so don't grammar nazi me about those ones. But for others, go ahead and ATTACK!!
