It was a bright, sunny day in Canterlot. The day was perfect.
*Thump* *Thump*
Celestia, the co-leader of the nation of Equestria, was sitting on her throne in Canterlot Castle. Having no appointments left for Day Court, but waiting anyways in case of an unexpected drop-in for a petition or request.
*Thump* *Thump*
"What is that thumping?" Celestia asked nobody in particular. She took this time to glance around the room itself, despite having done so far too many times to count. the room itself was like a wide hall, with massive, golden, vaulted ceiling being 20 meters high. Lavender decorated various stone pots attached to the walls at intervals. The floor was tiled white marble with a red strip carpet with golden accents trailing down the entire room. There was multiple, beautiful stained glass windows depicting events mostly related to the Elements of Harmony. The only one that wasn't Element-related was when-
"Princess! You have an unscheduled visitor!" A random royal guard declared. 'Come to think of it, that thumping is really loud.' Celestia thought to herself. 'What could possibly be making such sounds?'
"Let the visitor in!" She declared.
"Yes, Princess." She was smiling until he walked in. Her smile dropped immediately, a knot forming in her throat. The figure was...she drew a blank, not having seen him in years. The figure was 6'4. He had a light tan coat and grey hair, bordering on white. Wearing a crimson uniform, lapis lazuli highlights marking joints, with seven stripes going right shoulder to left hip. He was bipedal She didn't know why those striped were there. He was wearing some weird metal sticks connected via gears and a few other simple things, the connections leading into a weird metal box thing. His face showed no emotion whatsoever, and he stared straight into her glare without so much as flinching, his hands held behind his back, the left one holding the right. Once he got 7 meters away from the throne, he crossed his right leg over his left above the knee, his left arm crossing over his stomach, bowing slightly, resuming his previous situation afterward. He started to speak, his emotionless voice clear, but not loud. The perfect volume for her to hear, showing jack shit about his current emotional state.
"Good afternoon, Princess Celestia. I am Ambassador Shane Von John of the Cog Republik, and I am looking to book an appointment for Night Court." Celestia's ears twitched at this. 'Well, I suppose I'll humor that thing for now. It'll get him out of my hair, and Luna can finally get a visitor.'
"Very well, I will book the ugly abomination the first appointment." Celestia sneered. She detested these ungodly beings.
"Very well. Also, my species are called 'Hybrids', for your information. Goodbye, Princess Celestia." And he left.
---1:15 AM, Canterlot Castle, Night Court---
Luna sighed. It would be another day in the lonely Night Court. She sat down in the throne, glancing at the appointment sheet to see an appointment scheduled.....'Wait! An appointment! Huzzah!' She mentally cheered. "Guards! Put on some cheerful music! This is my first appointment!" A few guards retrieved an Arcane Instrumental Synthesizer, (Basically a magic Synthesizer) and a Thestral started playing a piece she learned from her stay at the Cog Republik, called 'RUSH B', playing for a min. 33 seconds, then starting back at the beginning. As she started to play, the Ambassador walked in. When he got within 7 meters, he did his 'bow'.
"Hello Princess Luna. I am Ambassador Shane Von John of the Cog Republik. I came here to request aid in the form of food. My country's policy prevents us from sharing technology, so we do not have much to give in return. We can however, gift you Blood Specter armor, weaponry, and training. Please. We are slowly starving, and this help will allow us to have a stable harvest next year. You could prevent an inter-species war. I just need adequate food to feed....2200 ponies for a month, until the harvest. Also, you'd only have 2 months to deliver. Otherwise, we'd be forced to use....other methods, and it would prevent riots. If you agree to this, we'll get you the armor, but you'll need to actually come to the Cog Republik. I have the proper documentation right here, if you choose to give us the food, you will receive a full citizenship with all the perks, as well as training and licence on a set of Blood Specter armor, with all the proper documentation. You will not be required to do any military service." He waited for the dark alicorn to answer.
"How will I be treated?" She asked, a simple question.
"Like just another citizen." He answered.
".....Then.....yes. I will deliver the food, and you will deliver upon the terms you have told me." She said, accepting the documents, and signing them. "Your country will have the food it needs within the time you have given me. I will come with the food, along with 20 Thestral guards."
"Thank you. And that Thestral made a good choice by playing that song." He started walking out the same way he walked in. "Oh, you cannot bring Princess Celestia to the Cog Republic. By law." He then left, bowing, but with the left leg over the right, and the right arm across his chest. "That was how I bow to a good leader....and friend." He left without further interruptions. After Night Court was done, she needed to organize the food shipment.
"Hello dear sister!" Luna waved to Celestia, who walked over to her. "I could use your help."
"Did that thing hurt you?" Celestia asked with a sneer. "Because I'll-"
"No! He asked very kindly and politely for aid for his country, and I agreed! I get to go to his country for Blood Specter training! I even get the armor and weapons! Also, I'm technically a citizen by the name of Midna!" She interrupted.
"WHAT!!!!! You decided to help those things!!! They're freaks of nature! Abominations! They should all die!" Celestia yelled at her sister, who whimpered. "And if you go, I-!!!!!!"
"Shut up." Shane told Celestia, stopping her screaming. He walked over to Luna and hugged her, said pony crying into his chest. He looked back at Celestia. "You have gone too far, Celestia, emotionally hurting a citizen! She is a good leader, and better then you could ever be! She didn't discriminate me for what I am! I thought this was a land of friendship and harmony! I'd declare war right here if Midna wasn't preparing my country's aid!" He yelled at her, and Celestia just smiled.
"Well then, I declare war."

If it's totally shit, tell me why in the comments.
Chapter 2: Welcome To The Republik!
Everything was completely silent. What Celestia just said didn't dawn on her yet. She just declared war. On the Cog. Republik. They have a fucking protocol for this: Protocol 17, jokingly called 'Sunbutt Protocol' by the soldiers and Blood Specters. This protocol is a level EX event, and instantly causes all military personnel to prepare for the worst, and it's not the Elements Of Harmony. It's if Equestria gains access to Flip-Side due to the permanently open portal, it could destroy that alternate dimension. "Celestia." Shane said in a deadpan. "Seriously think about what you're doing. You could cause a Level EX event."
"What does Level EX mean?" She responded.
"Level Extinction."
"Great. Guards, kill him!" He got up, scooping Luna in his arms, and running at his full speed, boosted by the Exoskeleton he's wearing, making run at up to 5 kph. He keyed his radio.
"Shane to base! Enact Protocol 17! I repeat, enact Protocol 17! Celestia has declared war!" He waited for a response, while running away. He could kill them, but Celestia might actually do something, and that's a chance he can't take.
"Oh god....Holy shit, I never thought this would happen!" A voice crackled over the radio.
"Me neither! Before this, Princess Luna agreed to give us the food, but that's what pissed Celestia off! She must've been expecting Princess Luna to say no! I'm returning with Princess Luna. She's signed the papers and is now a citizen by the name of Midna. Celestia yelled at her, meaning she emotionally hurt a citizen of the Republik! We can declare war."
"Wait, are you being chased?"
"Yes! There are 4 guards after me! I'd kill them, but I'd risk Celestia doing something! Can you get a sniper?"
"Yes. Hang on..." 20 seconds passed, the guards were getting tired. "Okay, he's there."
*THUNK SPLAT!*
*THUNK SPLAT!*
*THUNK SPLAT!*
*THUNK SPLAT!*
"Okay, the guards are dead. Approaching city! "
"Roger, stand by." As he approached the 20 meter-high gates of the Cog Republik, with the grey steel-reinforced 25 meter-high stone walls, a sniper gave him a thumbs-up, which he returned. The gates opened partially, and he went through, the gates closing behind him. A sight for sore eyes met him. 2 story, grey buildings with color for the signs and a few natural decorations. He put Luna down, who sank to her knees, sobbing. "Luna. Listen to me. Celestia has declared war. On my species. If we die, she gets access to Flip-Side, and that cannot happen. Were you accepted in Equestria?" Luna lokked at him, and shook her head slightly. "Well, you're accepted here. Despite you being a pony, you're a citizen, and now..." He gestured toward a small crowd, which Luna looked at. "You are family." Everyone in the crowd nodded. "Now, what should we call you?" He asked placing a hand on her withers, looking the distraught mare directly in the eyes.
"M-M-Midna. I would like to be called Midna." She responded, a small smile coming to her face.
"Well then, Midna. Welcome to the Cog Republik." He helped her up. "Now, go and talk to a few people. If you need anything, I'll be in that palace." He said, pointing at a 10-story building with a big cannon on top of it. With that he left. As she stared around nervously, a single man approached her.
"Hi! You're nervous, right?" She nodded. "Unsure what everyone will think about you?" She nodded again. "Well, let's fix that. You probably need someone to talk to. Me and m'bros are going to the tavern. How about you come with us?" Luna finally smiled, and started to follow him and his friends...
--1 hour later
"-he pissed himself right there and then! He even slipped on the puddle!" Luna said, her new friends laughing their asses off. After her banishment, she saw how incompetent the guard was, and attempted to drill a guard, who pissed himself because how scared he was. "Oh my, this is great! I can be myself!"
"Yeah, if you're a citizen, you're a friend. Hey, there's Ambassador Shane Von John!" Said person glanced in her direction, smiling as he walked over.
"Midna, this is for you. From me." He handed her a small-ish box, which she opened, only to smile as she pulled out a Citizen's Uniform with her magic. She looked at Shane, with tears of joy in her eyes. "I thought you'd like one."
"Thank you!" She hugged him, still levitating the uniform.
"Well, put it on! I didn't get one made for nothing. Also, we just upped the measurements of a regular pony to get what I'm pretty sure is your size. Also, I don't think you'll be needing your regalia. You can give them to me." She nodded, and removed her regalia, handing it to him, which he placed in the box, taking it. One of her new friends, Osama Bin Laden, who everybody called 'Osama', but one guy said 'Osama Bin Liftin' when he left the gym one day, helped her actually put the Uniform on. As soon as it was properly being worn, she smiled at Shane, who nodded, smiling back. "Now," He said, his tone suddenly grim. "I have something to show you. Also, someone you know far too well wishes to see you." Osama and his friends glanced at each other worriedly. Luna nodded, and followed. As they walked, Luna asked something.
"Where are we going, and who wants to see me?" He sighed, and looked at her.
"Remember Nightmare Moon." She flinched, then nodded. "Okay, imagine there's an entire dimension where everybody's the exact opposite in personality to you. Well, that exists. This city is built around a permanently open portal to that dimension. And, before you panic, Nightmare Moon wants too meet you. Not the one who possessed you, your polar opposite. She is almost the same as you, as the opposite of something will get to the same place. If someone is kind, their opposite will hate, but her negative traits will be positive, and will lead to a redundancy causing her to act similar in her own way. Confusing, but it works. Celestia's opposite is named Daybreaker, and is kinda a bitch, but loves her sister. Guess what that means." Luna teared up at the implications. If Daybreaker, Celestia's opposite cared for her sister, then Celestia didn't. At all. Celestia didn't care for Luna. 'No. I will not ever say, or think of that name again. I am Midna.' "I'm very sorry. Perhaps you can meet Daybreaker. She'll sure as hell enjoy it. Also, be nice to Moony. She's very shy. The opposite of you, I'd say." Luna was less nervous. Perhaps this won't be hard, if she's so different....
Author's Note
Next chapter, we get some information about Flip-Side and its' inhabitants. Also, the meeting with Moony'll be strange.
Seriously, just ell me what the fuck is wrong. I can't get better if you don't explain, unless you're just downvoting all my stories because you hate me or some bullshit. In that case, go die in a train fire, not even the crash.
