Twilight Sparkle expected her trip to the Crystal Empire to be a routine visit to her brother and sister-in-law. She didn't expect a disgraced former student of Celestia to steal her crown and attempt to flee through the Mirror Portal.

However, fate is a fickle thing. In Sunset Shimmer's haste to escape, she and Twilight Sparkle cause a distortion that brings them to a world of humans and creatures called Pokemon. The thing is, Twilight and Sunset's arrival didn't go unnoticed. And the dark forces lurking in the Kalos Region are seldom inactive...especially when you involve two beings from another world...
