Shiny vs Sunny

Shining Armor and Sunburst were now both playing with their new friends as they ran around the castle, pampers crinkling as they continued their game of tag.

Shining Armor was running down one of the halls and turned to see if any of the foals were down there. But it seemed to be vacant, so he waddled down the hall. But as he did he squeaked as a colt slammed into him, shoving his thick pull-up on top of Shining’s face. The prince whined and kicked about as he shouted in protest. “No, not fair! Ya was cheating!”

Crystal Shard rolled his eyes and scoffed “Nah uh, thewe’s no wules about tat.”

Shining got up and slammed his hooves into the other colt’s pampers as he babbled. “Ya is it! Ya gots to pway fair!” But Crystal Shard got up, so he waddled off after him while shouting. “Ya get back here, ya cheater!”

“Make me!” Crystal Shard taunted as he stuck out his tongue.

Shining playfully laughed, he wasn't worried. He’d had plenty of experience chasing Flurry around the palace long before she’d ever met Fizzlepop. So he simply waddled towards his nursery, knowing full well Crystal Shard would wear himself out. When the colt did, the prince burst through and slammed the door behind him!

The little prince was then tackled by Flurry Heart and Fizzlepop as they stood over his body triumphantly. He growled through the hooves as Fizzlepop whispered. “Hey, cawm down. We just pwaying.”

Shining Armor wiggled about and shouted. “Get off me! Ya two are cwazy!”

Flurry and Fizzlepop both stood on top of the little prince. Flurry Heart standing over him as she cooed. “Nah uh. Daddy gots to say ta magic word fwist! I supposed to be weaning fwom him.”

Shining rolled his eyes and groaned. Since when did his daughter get so smart? “Pwease, Fwurry, can ya get off me?” He pleaded as best he could.

Fizzlepop ruffled his mane and laughed. “Otay, Daddy!” Both little fillies jumped off their dad and watched as Shining slowly got onto his hooves grumbling as he fixed his pull-up (which had begun to slide down). He looked up and questioned. “What ya two doing hewe anyways? If I was Cwstaw Shawd, ya two wouwd be it.”

Flurry blushed as she rubbed a hoof behind her mane. “Sowie, guess we got super excited. Ya was having fun and we wanted to join in.”

Fizzlepop bounced up and down on her diaper as she exclaimed. “Uh-oh, we needs to hide, fast! Cwystaw is pwobabwy coming!”

The two fillies (and Shining) then looked towards the pull-up drawer. Flurry Heart flapped her wings and with a burst of excitement she squeaked. “Come on, wets hide in the puww-up dwawer! He’ww nevew find us in thewe.”

Before Shining could protest the two fillies both took the little colt within the aura of their magic and threw him into the fluffy, crinkling pile of pull-ups. Shining crawled through the padding but Flurry Heart and Fizzlepop both floated themselves into the drawer as well and slammed it with their magic. The three snuggled as they went deeper inside.

Crystal Shard waddled into the room seconds later, looking around as he whispered. “Whewe did Cwoudy go? I know he’s hewe somewhere,” But as the colt waddled about he noticed how cool Shining’s room was and squealed. “Wow, what a cool room! He even gots a bwothew sweeping with him, I bet he’s nevew scawed of monstews!” He then spotted Shining’s potty chart over what was clearly his bed with Brutus Force on top of the mattress, and the blue shield covering the comforter. He looked up at the potty calendar, bursting into laughter. “Aww, ya two gets stormy clouds! Not good if ya two just started potty training! I older than ya, I dun have accidents!”

Shining Armor got a little steamed at that remark. And before Fizzlepop and Flurry Heart could do anything to stop him he burst through the drawer, throwing pull-ups all over the room as he shouted. “Hey, I doing good! I didn’t have a accident aww day!”

The little colt waddled over and booped Shining Armor’s nose as he cooed,”Ya, it mister!” He then waddled out of the room as Flurry and Fizzlepop followed the colt.

Shining got up and waddled towards the little fillies shouting, “Ya two get back here, now! Dun make me teww Cady on ya!”

He ran down the hallway and looked around the kitchen. Cadence and Rebecca were both talking and drinking tea, unaware of Sunburst and the filly he befriended who were hiding under the table.

They both squeaked as they burst from the table as Shining started to chase them. “You all get back here! Ya in big twouble! Cady might even spank yas!” But before he could continue his chase Cadence lit her horn, took Shining into her magic and yanked the seam of the pull-up back.

The little colt kicked about and whined. “Stop it, Cady! I didn’t pee-pee in my puww-up!”

Cadence brushed his hoof away and cooed. “Well I’m afraid it’s a little wet, sweetheart. Sometimes it happens to foals your age.”

Shining continued to kick about and whined. “Stop it, I need to pway with my friends! I pwomice I’ll go potty when it’s aww ovew!”

Cadence couldn’t help but snuggle the toddler (who was also her husband she kept reminding herself) as she began to change his pull-up and every foal in the room burst into laughter. Shining’s pudgy belly poked out as he tried to hide it with his hooves and whined, once again pleading. “Stop it, Cady! Evewypony’s watching!”

But the prince’s plea was ignored as he had his pull-up pulled over his rump and he blushed as he was placed in a little blue t-shirt, with cute puffy clouds printed on the fabric. The shirt only covering the waistband of his pull-up.

His wife gave his mane a ruffle and then let him waddle off with his pull-up crinkling about. The rest of the foals ran off, still laughing at his misfortune. Shining roared with frustration and embarrassment at the foals as he burst into the throne room and shouted. “You are going to get it now! I’s gonna put you aww in time-out and make Cady take away ya potty pwivilges!”

Shining turned to see that the foals were now hiding around the columns lining down the great hall. He growled, racing the down the giant hall in his thick pull-up, many guards watching with a mix of nervousness and confusion at seeing their regressed captain act so childish.

Eventually, Shining came over and jumped on top of Sunburst making them both fall to the ground, rolling around. Shining ended up on top as he poked Sunburst’s pull-up. “Wooks like somepony pee-peed in their puww-ups. And it ain’t me.”

Sunburst looked down at the fading suns and the yellow stained front of his pull-up as he whined. “Tat’s no fair! You made me pee, Shining!”

Shining laughed as he ran off. “Ya it, mister! Catch me if yas can!”

Sunburst got up in a pout and shouted. “Ya gets back here! I’m gonna get ya!” He crawled after Shining as fast as he could, but squeaked as Cadence took him into her magic and checked his pull-up thoroughly. Feeling it squish beneath her hoof she cooed. “Oh my, looks like we have two soggy colts today.”

The rest of the toddlers came out to watch as Sunburst had his pull-up changed, with him kicking and squirming the whole time. But it was nothing to Cadence who just focused on finishing the change and making sure the new pull-up was over the colt’s rump. Then she put him in a blue t-shirt with a smiling sun printed on it.

Sunburst pouted as he waddled over and grumbled. “So what? Ya all in potty twaining too, at weast I get to weaw someting to cover my puww-up.”

Crystal Clear came over with a blush and helped adjust the pull-up as she nuzzled. “Well ya still wook cute and ya still my best friend. I dun cawe if ya in puww-ups or diapees. In fact, I’d be in diapees if they made ‘em in my size. They a wot mowe comfy, but I can’t use them now that I in potty twaining.”

Cadence cooed. “That’s adorable. Now, I think we’ve had more than enough excitement for one day. How about we have arts and crafts? Something nice and subdued” The foals all jumped and down in the air with excitement as Cadence lead the troupe down the hall.

The foals were now all surrounding a table with crayons and hoof paints. The foals were busy making their own creations, with Shining and his new friend using crayons to create their own little superweapons. Shining’s was of a huge shield with yellow lightning surrounding it. Crystal Shard drew a sword with flames coming off of the blade. He threw the picture up and shouted, “Wook, my super fwame sword is so coow!”

Shining Armor took out his drawing and shouted back. “Nah uh my shield is coower!”

Crystal Shard stomped about in anger and shouted back. “Nah uh, ya wong! My dwaing is so much better!”

Shining Armor pouted as his horn lit up and created a small blue shield around his body. He nagged and taunted. “Come on then, twy bweaking my shield!”

Crystal Shard took out his foam sword and whacked at the shield of magic, but it couldn’t get through. He growled and continued to whack away, but was suddenly picked up by Cadence’s magic as she asked. “What is going on here?”

Crystal Shard turned around and pointed a hoof at Shining. “He’s being a big meanie, tat’s what going on!”

Shining released his shield and whined. “Nah uh, he stawted it! He said his sword can bweak my shield and I gonna pwove him wong!”

Cadence rolled her eyes as she placed Shining back down onto the seat and scolded both colts. “Now now, it’s arts and crafts time not playtime. You two behave or it’s going to be timeout for both of you, understand?!”

Both colts lowered their heads and mumbled in shame. “Yes, Cady.”

The princess gave a nod as she continued on her way towards Crystal Clear and Sunburst to see how they were doing. The two messy toddlers were covered in hoof paint as they were debating over their colores.

The filly pointed at the green paint and growled. “Tat’s red!”

Sunburst stomped about and whined. “No, is green!”

Crystal Clear whined. “Nah uh, is red!”

The two foals bickered for some time and Cadence (curious about their little discussion) came over to look at the paint. Seeing it was clearly green she cooed. “It’s green, sweethearts.”

Sunburst squealed in delight and nagged. “See I knew it was gween!” Crystal Clear crossed her hooves.

Cadence looked over the paintings and saw that the filly made one of a rainbow smeared across the construction paper. Sunburst’s picture was that of a big goofy smiling sun and Cadence dawed. “How cute! These paintings are beautiful!” She ruffled Sunburst’s mane and nuzzled him, making the little colt giggle and squeal in delight.

Crystal Clear got a bit jealous, held out her rainbow and shouted. “Wook, I made a pwetty wainbow.”

Cadence looked over and cooed. “Oh, what a beautiful painting! It’s so lovely!” She nuzzled the little filly as she beamed with pride.

Just then, two guards strode into the kitchen and both gave salutes as one announced. “Princess the parents of Crystal Shard and Crystal Clear have arrived.”

All of the foals groaned as Cadence smirked. “Oh stop it, you’re all going to see each other tomorrow at preschool. Now come on you two, it’s time to go home.”

Crystal Shard jumped over first and looked up at Shining as he shouted. “Ya watch! I gonna weawn mowe about swowds and I gonna beat ya, Cwoudy!”

Shining scoffed. “Good wuck with tat, I’ww be weady!”

Crystal Shard ran off with his cute pull-up bouncing between his legs. Shining blushed feeling a little jealous at the fact that Crystal Shard hadn’t had an accident all day.

Crystal Clear simply came over and kissed Sunburst on the cheek and chirped. “See ya tomorrow, pumpkin!”

She jumped off and ran out of the room as Sunburst rubbed his cheek with a surprised look and whispered. “Pumpkin!?”

Both Shining and Sunburst were both too embarrassed to do much, realizing how much they were enjoying being toddlers. They watched as Cadence escorted their new friends back to their parents, feeling a little sad. Part of them almost didn’t want to go back to being adults if it meant leaving their potty training friends behind.
