New Assignment

Previous Chapter

Gabby awoke feeling warm and something soft, not remembering that her and Ghost were in the same bed together and for a brief moment panicked. Quickly sitting up and scooting away before realizing it was Ghost who she was with. Then everything came back to her memory, yesterday and even more vividly, last night. She could still feel the aftermath sloshing inside her. It made her blush realizing that she still had Ghost's spunk in her and probably wasn't going to leave anytime soon. Though she had no idea how long it would stay before her body would remove it.

Shortly after she sat up, Ghost awoke himself and smiled up to her before kissing her cheek. This only made Gabby blush harder. Receiving this kind of affection was new to her. Though that should be an understatement since she got a lot of affection from him last night. Though now it's really hitting her. She was perfectly fine with it too. She could get used to this. Gabby simply laid back down on Ghost and snuggled into him one last time before they had to get up. Now that she is fully awake and not tired she could truly enjoy him. Despite it not being really official on any papers, it was official between them, well at least for her, that they were now mated, and to griffons, they only mated to one for life. Gabby happens to be at that age that most females do end up find their life long partner if they were going to have one. Some never do mate, others break tradition and mate with multiple males.

Not Gabby, she may not agree with all the traditions that griffons followed, but this was one of them. She wasn't going to let another male have her except for Ghost. Something she took pride in. Ghost was the only one that had breeding rights to her. Which he claimed the previous night. Which was also the first time Gabby was taken. Before last night, she was a virgin, now she isn't, though she never plans on leaving the one that took that from her. Though rumbling stomachs took the thought process away from Gabby recapping traditions and the magic that took place last night. At least for her it was magical.

For Ghost, needless to say he would admit he jumped in to the relationship pool head first. Within the first twelve hours of meeting Gabby he had basically ended up breeding her. She wasn't in heat, no, but the way they were going at it, she might as well have been. Though seeing as how she gave him her all, he was going to do the same back. Though he didn't really know much about griffons outside of what resources existed and they didn't really cover relationships. So seeing Gabby being all snuggles and clinging to him was new, though told him that apparently relationships of this scale was something most griffons held valuable. Much as couples did in Equestria. Though since Gabby was in a snuggling mood, who was he to object? He gave in and wrapped his hooves around her and kneaded at where her shoulders met her back. This got some cute coo's and moans from the griffon who simply took enjoyment out of the attention, pleasure and pampering he was giving her. She melted into his hooves and he could feel her press herself into his chest more. Though much like Gabby, the fact was, his stomach had no food in it, and it made that clear. So much to their dismay, their cuddling had to come to a sad end. For now anyway.

Gabby got up and set about making breakfast for them, which was jelly toast. Food was expensive and she didn't make enough to get anything outside of the basics. Though while she was toasting the bread Ghost decided to see if there was any mail. Sure enough there was a letter for him with the Equestrian military insignia on it. One of his bosses apparently giving him new instructions. Though it was just as confusing as his assignment was yesterday. It read simply, "Patrol the town for threats."

Neither him or Gabby could make up why in the world they would send a letter like that anyway. Griffon Stone wasn't really needing a Royal Guard patrolling the streets. Griffon Stone hasn't seen a thief in decades and that is simply because there is nothing of value in this town. But since he was ordered to do so, guess that was what Ghost was spending his day doing. Though since Gabby was off this day anyway, she figured she would join in and go about the town with him. She did know it better than him and would probably be able to keep him from getting hassled by the others. So shortly after they ate Ghost and Gabby set out to follow through with the orders he was given.

Not much was going on in town. It was early still but not like much happened anyway in this town. A few stalls would open but charge too much for items and griffons being the greedy species they are, really didn't like spending any money if they could help it. Though Ghost noticed that Gabby walked while leaning on him, her tail wrapped around his and her wing over his back. Apparently based on the looks the other griffons were giving, was something significant. Though overhearing a few of those that tried to whisper, Ghost was able to piece it together that Gabby was basically showing she belonged to Ghost. As in, she was no longer available to other males, just him.

Apparently a few of the younger males took offense to this, seeing how a foreigner was able to claim himself a female of their town. Three of them landed in front of Ghost and Gabby. Gabby knew very well what this was about and leaned even more onto Ghost, tightening her wing around him. Another sign that she was relying on Ghost to protect her. Though Ghost simply seemed to be unimpressed with the younglings in front of him. "So, an Equestrian stallion comes strolling in and thinks he's hot stuff because he claimed one of our females for himself. Well, he won't be high and mighty when we are done and take her for ourselves." Right as he finished that the other two quickly went in and pulled Gabby away from Ghost, overpowering her and keeping her subdued.

Ghost didn't move, despite Gabby's pleads and screams. She was starting to think that he didn't truly love her. That was till he teleported to the side of the leader in mid kick. Sending the young-ling flying sideways. The young-ling cam back flying right at the black stallion. Right at the last moment and before the young griffon could do any counter or defensive moves Ghost did a back flip and kicked the griffon in the lower jaw, sending him up in the air. Now done playing around Ghost teleports up into the air and throws a few punches to the stunned griffon. Then teleports again to be above the young male to dive into him and force them both into a free fall. Ghost wrestling against the griffon, taking a few cuts and scratches from the claws as he frantically tried to be rid of Ghost to keep from hitting the ground. Though Ghost was committed and refused to give in. Right at the last moment before impact Ghost teleports again to be standing on the ground with a grin. The griffon slamming into the ground. Broken wing and rear hind leg from the fall. Ghost then looks at the two others, "Who's next?" With that the others took off in flight in fear.

Gabby ran up to Ghost and hugged him tightly and that was when another older griffon showed up, "What happened here?" She asked.

"The one laying there tried to take me with his buddies, but Ghost didn't let that happen!" Gabby said, returning to Ghost's side.

"You are the stallion that was sent here by the Royal Guard aren't you."

"Yes, I am. You know why I am here? As I never was told why I was supposed to be here."

"Nope. I was just told you would be here under orders from the Equestrian Government. At first I thought some secret mission since they didn't bother to say why."

"Nope, just a confused stallion following orders."

"Well, I'll take care of him." The griffon said, eyeing them a moment. "You two a couple?"

"Yes!" Gabby said happily. "He's the best lover I could ask for!" Ghost only blushed a bit.

"I see. Well if you two need anything, you can find me, name's Gilda by the way. I'll also get the paperwork in motion to make you two official." With that she took off.

The rest of the day was uneventful till they got home. They had dinner and then moved to the couch where they snuggled each other and told each other stories from their childhood.

"What were you like growing up? You never said anything about parents."

"Never knew them. They abandoned me when I was about six. In a park in Manehatten. I realized then that my life was a war. So, I learned to fight. Took out bullies first. Then after getting good at that targeted criminals. I managed to get into school around when I was ten. By then I was known as the homeless colt that was a back alley thug. No one talked to me, I took out all my pain on the criminals. Got better at fights. One day, senior year, a few days before prom, some jock from the sports team was jealous of the fact that the hot mare of the school wanted to go to prom with me. So he picked a fight with me in the hallway. With all the lockers around. Fed up with all the hate the school had against me, I took it out on him in particular, more so than the thugs robbing mares. He didn't get up. Never did. Crushed his skull in ten seconds of the fight starting. No charges were pressed against me since he initiated the fight. Though I never finished school. Never went to prom. No idea what happened to the mare that wanted to date me. I left and never came back. Though the Royal Guard heard of the homeless colt, taking out criminals and killed a colt in self defense. Found me and put me through their program. Was top of the class in everything they put me through, except for magic. I can only teleport, levitate and use telekinesis. I only passed that class due to my adaptability and used those magics to achieve victory. When you can only do three things, you get really really good at those three things. They become an appendage, you don't really think, you just do. So unlike my classmates, I was faster and more unpredictable. They would try a wide arrange of magics against me, but of course, only works if you can hit the target. When you can teleport more times per second than the next best teleporter, you can't be touched.

Anyway, that should explain some things about my childhood. I am screwed up, inside and out. Trained myself to fight, then got professional training to fight. All I really know, because it was the only thing that could keep me alive to see adulthood and not be someone's property. Forced to do their bidding. Regardless, I would have ended up a fighter, because if someone picked me up they would have made me fight. Just in this case, I'm not tied to a chain till I am convenient."

Gabby was speechless. She thought she had it rough living in this horrible place. Manehatten from the stories she's heard was a big and beautiful city. Ghost sees it differently, she knows based on his voice and story. He didn't see the beauty, only the hate and ugly that is suppressed by the neon lights and busy streets. Griffons are used to living alone and isolated. Ghost only knows that, even more so than griffons and her, till now anyway. He was an outcast for his whole life. She couldn't comprehend how hard his life was. Though she only grew to love him more. "I would have never known." She said softly. She only clung to him more. Embracing him more, for him, not for her. "I am yours, no matter what your past is, or what the future holds."
