Hope For The Best, But Prepare For The Worst
"If you're seeing this video then I am most likely dead... Where to begin? How about who I am? My name is Sunset Shimmer and what I am about to tell you might be unbelievable, but I plan to take this camera across the portal in a little while to prove that everything I am saying is true." The girl in the video said before she then reached out and turned off the video.
When the video came back the girl had been replaced with a unicorn.
"I debated long and hard about this part, but this world I am from is not completely safe and I might be dead because of some ancient evil and with the existence of the portal I finally decided to include this into the video to help protect my adopted world from the dangers of my homeworld. As you can see Equestria's dominant species is not human. In fact humans are considered the same way you consider fairies, beings of pure fantasy." The video then cut off again.
When the video returned once more it showed a peaceful town inhabitat by ponies.
"As you can see, we are a peaceful race, but there are other races in this world like dragons, diamond dogs, griffins, minotaurs, centaurs, yeti, yaks, hippogriffs, etc. Some of them are not very peaceful and a few are outright hostile. This does not even begin to touch on the wildlife and other dangers out there." The video once again cut off.
Finally it came back with the girl human again.
"I was orphaned at a young age and spent time in an orphanage for a while before becoming the personal student to one of our rulers. I excelled at my studies, but became arrogant, thinking I was entitled to more. I began studying things that were forbidden for a reason and when my teacher confronted me about it I used that knowledge to escape into your world through the portal before it shut down for 2 1/2 years between openings. From there I began gathering secrets and used blackmail to get what I wanted. When the portal reopened I tried to take something powerful from my world and use it in this world. Luckily someone from my world came here during the few days the portal was open and knock some sense into me. After that I stayed in this world, made some friends, defeated 3 exiles from my world before they could do more than turn a music festival into a battle of the bands." Once again the video cut off.
Then there was the girl again, but she had been crying and her jacket was torn.
"Well I thought about just shutting this down since everything had been going so well for me, but someone seems to have a grudge against me and has decided to try and turn the whole school against me. It started just several days ago with a Mystable user called Anon-a-miss releasing an imbarcing family nickname of one of my friends. We didn't think nothing of it at the time and had already planned to have a sleepover that night, so we just ignored it. The next day Anon-a-miss somehow got the pictures from my phone of the sleepover and posted us in tacky clothes and doing silly things. We all could tell it was from my phone and Anon-a-miss changed their page to match my hair color and put up a silhouette that sort of looked like me. It was enough to make my friends think it was me and throw me out of their group. Only it wasn't enough for Anon-a-miss, they began sharing other people's secrets and they all blamed me for it." The girl then wiped her tears away.
"At first it was just name calling, but it has now excellated to physically attacking me. So I decided to update this video for my digital dropbox that is set to release everything in one massive data dump if I don't put in my deadman switch password every 24 hours. I never meant to ever release all of this and had planned to destroy it before Anon-a-miss showed up, but I've put in everything I have into this, video, photos, the location of evidence, all of the secrets I have collected over the past 3 years, profiles and pictures of everyone at the school with those that I think are the most likely to be my murderer flagged for the authorities, and my short list of the several most likely candidates for Anon-a-miss." She then got a sad look on her face before continuing.
"Hopefully I am just being paranoid, but just in case. First of all, Principal Celestia, I took you up on your offer and you will find my journal in your desk with an envelope inside. Please take the page out of the envelope and place it face down on the first blank page in it and close the book. The message will transfer to Twilights book automatically and she will know to shutdown the device she made to hold the portal open. This is for the best since the last thing either world needs is a war because of some overzealous military or government type. After that just mail the book immediately to the U.N., the address is on the envelope and it should keep the U.S. government from doing something foolish until the U.N. can peacefully negotiate with Equestria through the book and the portal can be reopened permanently once again. I'm sorry to say that an negotiation involving certain types like the Republicans here in America, the Chinese or Russian Governments, and certain other groups or governments will be doomed to failure. I should also point out that letting religious groups be involved in the negotiations would also be a bad idea, but having Principal Celestia involved would actually be a very good idea. I know I am dumping the fate of two universes on just a high school principal, but if your counterpart in my world is any indication, then you have no idea of how strong you really are deep down inside where it really counts." For a moment there was a brief bit of mischief in the girl's eyes before she moved on.
"Next is my friends. Applejack, always as solid as a rock no matter how rough things got. Rarity, always ready and willing to give to anyone that needs help. Fluttershy, kind sweet Fluttershy, ready to gently heal all of life's troubles. Pinkie Pie, always ready to bring a smile to everyone's face. Finally Rainbow Dash, ready to help get everyone up and motivated to take on whatever life throws at us. Hopefully this will all blow over and you will never see this, but if something should happen I... I want you to know that all of you are my best friends and I am glad that I had each and everyone of you in my life." At that moment the girl's phone went off and and she read the text message. "Maybe things are starting to change. I guess I will finish this later after I go see what Rainbow Dash wants. I wonder why she wants to meet me at the school this late at night." With that she reached out and turned off the camera.
