Author's Note
The first chapter is mostly the same the major deviations begins in the beginning of chapter 2. And yes I know the cover art looks rushed and that's because it was. 
And I had originally scraped this story so I didn't finish up on it, but know its here here now so I might as well do so.

PROLOGUE
I don't know how it happened or why. The last thing I remember was watching mlp. When out of nowhere I was engulfed by a flash of multicolored light.
When I came too I immediately knew something was wrong as my body structure was drastically changed. I looked around staring at my new body which had taken an equine-like shape. Screaming frantically I tried to pull myself up upon my hoofs but I stumbled back to the ground.
“... Whe- where am I? What am I?
Am I a pony? Am I in Equestria?!"
I screamed as I attempted to calm myself down.
"Am I dreaming this can’t be real I-it can't." But it was... I looked around again but this time looking for a path or a sign to point me in the direction to civilization, there I might find somebody or somepony to help me.
”Hhmmm let’s see here are there any signs or paths to follow-, aha there's a path." I mumbled to myself As I slowly forced myself off the ground to my ~~feet~~ hoofs.
As I started to visualize walking as a four legged animal. I 'trotted' to and, along the dirt path slowly getting used to moving around in my new body.
"Man they make it look so easy."
I mumbled to myself out loud. As I neared the end of the path I saw it... The one place on my bucket list that was out of reach, but not anymore. Its Ponyville, as I entered a new wave of dread came over me how will I go home? Is this my new home? It's every brony’s dream to be here but, what now I don't know how to make a living in equestria...--then out of nowhere a pony with a cotton candy-like mane that I soon recognized as pinkie pie appeared. snapping me back into reality.
Chapter 1
"Hi there, are you new here? You must be new..."
"I am... I am- but not just new to ponyville though." I said cautiously, knowing how Pinkie Pie usually greats new arrivals.
" Oh so your a traveler huh- sounds pretty boring~ if you ask me." She said holding out the 'boring way longer than necessary.
" No I'm not a traveler... I'm new to equestria as a whole." I tried to explain.
"Ah ha good one it’s not like you were sucked into a portal to equestria while watching something related to it that's silly." She laughed sarcastically with a large grin... Wait how did she... Pinkie sense just roll with it.
"Actually that was... Actually that is exactly what happened to me Pinkie."
"Hey how do you know my name." She said looking like she already knew the answer.
"Well,--" Y'all are all famous all around equestria.
"Wait, let me guess are you a psychic." She said cutting me off.
"LISTEN and, I'll tell you." I said trying not to lose my cool.
"I'm listening, you don't have to be so mean." She whined with a pouty face.
"I'm Sorry, Pinkie I didn't mean to say it that loud." I said apologetically.
"Its all~ good, you must be really stressed out." Thanks for stating the obvious.
"I really need to see Princess Twilight, I'm not from this world and, I need help. I know a lot about Equestria, but in a broad sense. Only what’s on the surface... Only the icing on the cake."
"ooo~! what flavor is it. hope it's chocolate!
"PINKIE, this is serious Please!! focus." I pleaded. I honestly brought this one apon myself with the cake analogy but, it was so worth it.
"Right sorry where was I... here we are." she said "Huh? What do you mean your from another world?" She ask with a confused smile. "Is this some sort of prank? If so you'll need to try harder than that to fool me." Just pinkie being pinkie...Stay calm.
"No! no! no! no! This is no prank I'm telling you the truth, My world is the place you communicate with when you do what we call breaking the fourth wall." I said desperately. Practically begging her to believe me." There is a show in my world that features all of you and, all off the known world to pony kind." I said pausing to take a breath. As well to plan what to say next. "I know a lot about the mane seven." I said trying to recall the names of the main cast. "Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, Starlight Glimmer ,and you Pinkie Pie and-..."But before I could finish was I was trying she cut me off.
“Follow me.” She yelled as she bounced away speedily. She could of at least gave a heads up before... hand? hoof.
"Wait up!!" I yelled upon death ears. As I 'galloped' as fast as I could without tripping over myself barely able to keep up. For what felt like 10 minutes of non stop running she finally came to a stop... There it was... There I saw it- it's Twilight's castle. It was a lot bigger than I expected it to be. “Yo-u... Coul- couldn't you slo-w down a bit cou-ld y-ou--"I gasped between breaths.
“we're here~” she sung in a slightly musical tone... “Sorry didn't know you were out of shape most ponies are in shape around here.” she said with a smirk smile.
“I'm!...i'm not from equestria though, Remember!” I said trying catching my breath.
“Ooopssy~ sorry I forgot.” She chuckled.
“No worries it’s probably hard to think of me as something else when I look just like one of you.”I said as my heavy breathing started to calm down.
“You said it, not me.” she said almost laughing...Almost.
“She's here right? Can you take me to her?” I asked as I walked towards the door beside her.
“Sure!!..." She said as she stopped right in front of the door. "O~ silly me I forgot to ask you for your name that isn’t like me at all.” She said staring into space.
“Its Joseph but, most people call me Joe.” I explained with a proud look on my face.
“That's a weird name…” She replied with a strange look on her face.
“Hey! It’s a common name in my world!" I said with an hint of anger "But, I guess I need to come up with a pony-like name if I'm going to stay here.” I said Knowing that that would be for the best.
“Do you have a mirror that I can please borrow. I really need to see what I look like.” I pleaded waiting to see more than just my coat color and my blank flank from before.
"There’s a few in the castle you can stop by one on the way.” She explained as she opened the crystalline door.
"What no mirror emergency stash.” I whispered to myself causing me to chuckle slightly. “Sounds good as long as you don't leave me behind, Pinkie.”
“Okkie-dokie~, right this way…” she said with a large grin. She is going to do it... I just know it.
As I followed her inside I decided to look around while trying to keep track of her. As we approached a set of mirrors I called out to her to wait for me but I then realized she was already gone. As I mumbled a few choice words under my breath as I looked into the mirror...“I'M A UNICORN! HOW DID I NOT REALIZE THIS BEFORE HAND!? before hoof?...” I yelled while trying to regain composure.- “So I'm a unicorn with a reddish coat and a orange and white mane.” So I became my OC... Neat! “I guess I can call myself Blaze star..." I said thinking that If I had became my OC might as well use the name I gave him. "Now where did Pinkie get to?-” I said to myself in a reassuring tone...
“There you are! I'm over here- Joe.” she yelled with a the largest grin I've ever seen to date.
“Oh- alright be right there, Pinkie.” I said As I clumsily galloped towards her. “I told you not to leave me behind!...” I yelled sternly but not to loud just in cause the princess was with her. “Anyways did you at least bring Princess Twilight with you.” I asked with a stern look.
“Sure did! And, sorry but you move really slow.” She said as her large grin grew even bigger than before.
“I've been a pony for about an hour! I'm surprised that I can even stand-even let alone walk.” I blurted out...Now that think of it. How was I able to learn how to use my new body so fast...and too such of a degree in less than an hour.
“So you wanted to see me." Twilight asked as she trotted into view."- Joe, was it?” She asked skeptically.
“Yes, Princess... Did Pinkie brief you on the situation or will I need to explain it.”
“She did, though it might be best for you explain the situation in more depth...Follow me.” She ordered looking slightly confused But, I can't blame her. As I followed here to the planning room at least that's where I thought see was taking me. As she entered the room I followed shortly behind. There I saw it-The Cutie Map, it looked so much cooler in person- in pony...
“Come take a seat.” she commanded as she took a seat herself.
“Where to Princess?” I asked looking confused.
“The seat right across from me.” She ordered. As I took my seat she wasted no time to get started. “So you say your from another world. Then prove it then.” She ordered assertively with a smile.
“Wait-How do you want me to prove it?... Never-mind, I got one how about I expose you. Meaning I tell you something only you and anyone- anyPony who were involved should know. A secret of sorts.”
“go on." She said hesitantly as her smile slowly changed into a look of concern and unease.
“Yes Princess.” I said adorning her lost smile... This is going to be fun. “-At Starlight's graduation, you did not know what to do when Discord said she was above simple friendship lessons...So you went to Celestia for advice and, learned she had the same fears about making decisions for you.” The look on her face was priceless. “Sorry but that was the first one to come to mind.”
“How did- how do you know all that? Did discord tell you?” She asked slightly embarrass and worried about her security.
“No he did not tell me anything, as I haven't even seen him yet and I'm glad about that... Anyways back on topic. To put it frank, the world I'm from is the world that Pinkie Pie communicates with what we call breaking the fourth wall.” I said choosing my next words carefully. “You probably- most likely see her talking to herself but, that's not the case... She seems to be the only person- only pony who notices my worlds presents…via the audience which is us...”
“Alright!.. I'm going to gather my friends you stay here.” She said cutting me off.
“Wait- wasn't Pinkie Pie here?” I asked confused.
“She was but,- she was only on break had had to go back to work at the sugar cube corner.”
“But-... but why.” I asked confused.
“They are only excused from work when they are summoned... and- their employers and, family members all agreed to the terms of release soo… I'll be back with my friends.” She yelled as she left the room. wow Somepony is embarrassed.
“Hey Twilight what's goin-." Starlight asked cheerfully, completely oblivious about what's going on...
“Sorry Starlight, but keep him company,- keep an eye on him.” She yelled cutting starlight off as she left the room.
“So what’s your problem.” Starlight asked with a smirk look as she trotted towards me.
“-Not from this world...- and, No before you ask if I'm from that Canterlot high and/or this worlds human world." I said slightly agitated... “Sorry didn't mean to snap at you. I... -I'm just really stressed out.” I said apologetically.
“It's ok we all get a little stressed out around here,...Trust me I'd would know.”
“So do I.” I responded weakly.

Next morning...
"Aahyha Good morning, Twilight your up early."
"Oh!- hi, Blaze So are you." She said shocked that that I was up. "Did you have trouble sleeping?"
"Yeah I don't usually get much sleep. Yet I always seem wake up early everyday for some reason...Anyways do you have any books on the basics on magic. I am more than willing to read them. I... I spend about 20 minutes trying to use my magic to open my door. -I finally succeeded in doing so but it took me awhile."
"Wait, I thought you said you were afraid to try using your magic?" She asked sincerely. Recalling what I had told her yesterday.
"I was afraid... But then I thought. If I i'm going to learn how to use magic, I will need to overcome that fear head on which I did. it only took me about 5 of the 20 minutes to overcome the fear."
"It... it took you 15 minutes to open a door." She said cringing at the fact that I struggled to open a door.
"I know! I honesty thought it would take me longer to figure it out. Turns out you just have to visualize it happening which was easy especially after the other attempts I made." I said being proud of using such basic magic. "I made a mental checklist of what seemed to work and what didn't and after a lot of testing. Using few of my own theory's on how magic works and, what I seen and heard from the show. And I found the one that actually worked...completely. I'm actually proud of myself for learning that much on my own. Not much but it's something I guess."
"Wow I had no idea that you were taking this so seriously."
"Wait did you forget about yesterday?" I asked. "-Never mind there was a lot to take in yesterday I can't expect you to remember every little detail."
"Yeah About that... What really happened when I left. Starlight seemed upset when I went to talk to her last night. If your willing to talk i'm all open ears. And after we are done I"ll get you that book and teach you magic like I promised."
"Thanks... Thank you, princess. I still can't believe your letting me stay here."
"Why is that?"
"It's just been my dream to be with you." I whispered under my breath.
"What was that I couldn't hear you." She said with a mischievous grin, obviously knowing what I said.
"I said it has been my dream to live here." I lied, I need to wait just awhile longer till I make a move. She may had been my favorite in the show but. I need to see other ponies before I decide who to take too.
"Ok, so what happened between you and Starlight lets get that out of the way first."
"Well She started asking me questions and, she started to jump to conclusions. She accused me of being a changeling pulling a prank or something which I took offence too. "Sure she was trying to force the answers out of me, But I didn't do anything to make her upset. I don't think I did at least. "
"Ok that is good to know, I think I now know what made her upset..." She said assessing the new information and forming a conclusion. "Anyways back on topic. What do you mean by a prank?"
"The changeling are reformed right? So they should mean no harm right...right?" Honestly if they are anything like discord's reformation they're still trouble in my book but, hey any reform is better than none.
"Yeah well some are better then others and not all changelings are reformed, Just Chrysalises's hive was reformed and she's still at large after her escape."
"Oh that makes sense I guess. I didn't think other changeling hives where cannon."
Cannon? Blaze, what do you mean by that? Is it a danger for Equestria?" I couldn't help chuckling at that.
"Oh right sorry in my world the term cannon is like its true or real, what's fact and what is perceived as fact." I said starting to choke up "Lets end that there. it kinda hurts speaking of my home world and I don't think we want a emotional breakdown to happen."
"Are you prone to those? Should I schedule a therapist to visit?" I am but I decided to stretched the truth a little. It's better that way at least for now.
"No not really though It really depends on the situation. And right now I'm under a lot of stress, maybe practicing my magic will help me calm down."
"Sure why not. You must be really excited? Finally getting to learn magic."
"Yes I am! Even if the books, I'll need to read are sky high!" She couldn't help chuckling at that. Are there books that big in equestria? Well One way to find out.
"Alright, be careful for what you wish for."
"What was that?" Did I hear her right, did she... She must be kidding...Right? there can't be books that big...Right?
"It was nothing," She chuckled. "Right this way. To be honest I'm excited to actually teach somepony magic."
" And I'm excited to finally get to learn how to use it properly. There is most likely an easier method that what I did this morning... And by the way the interior of the guest room may or may not be destroyed." It was but I wanted to play with her a little bit. A little bit of teasing shouldn't hurt.
"WAIT WHAT! ARE YOU kidding me!" She yelled
"Sorry it is. But I'll pay you for all the damage done once I get a job that I can keep. but for now please magic..."
"It's fine you only did it because you wanted to try your magic out. but you need to be more careful for now on. And keep away from complex spells. until I tell you otherwise. For reasons you'll find out later if your training goes good.
"No more delays, lets get started!" I said enthusiastically and impatiently. I have waited long enough its about time we get started while we are still young.
"Alright right this way..." She said as she trotted to the library section of her castle.
"WOW you have a lot of books. I mean I knew you had a lot but seeing it in person- err in pony I mean... Auuhh It's going to take awhile to get used to the culture and custom changes in Equestria." Is this what it's like to move to a new country. If so I feel sorry for them.
"yeah I know what you mean. When I had to go through the mirror portal I had to change my life style to adapt to my surroundings."
"Oh yeah you've been through this before, well with alternate versions of each other. each pony? AUUUUUHH ! at least where you went they were at least similar in the way they act in equestria with obvious alterations."
"I get what your trying to say and, yes it may had been easier for me but I still know what your going through. I'm here to help you so don't be afraid to open up. Anyways here is the book you need to read." She said as she levitated off the shelf.
"Oh my goodness that is a big book! though I thought it may had been bigger I'm actually kinda disappointed."
"Sorry to disappoint you." She chuckled slightly. Her horn glowed as she brought the book closer to me." Now try to grab the book in your magic and place in down slowly and remember don't force it if you cant do it let it drop. And if you can hold it the book at least attempt to put it down slowly but if you can't don't force it. Do you understand Blaze,?" She explained.
"I understand princess, I'll give it my best shot." I said as I started to focus. My horn started glowing dimly and strained but still glowing in magic but barely. I focused my magic around the book and as I did so she released her hold on it.
I was able to hold it in place for about 4 to 5 seconds before losing my grip on the book dropping it. But before it hit the ground I was able to get another hold on it and continued to lower it slowly to the ground. "Will that do princess?" I asked eagerly hoping that I passed the (test) in magic control. "I may had lost my grip on it but, I was able to catch it before it the ground if that means anything."
"You did great, Blaze I wasn't actually expecting you to be able to do it at all. The fact that you did it that well with very little knowledge of how to do so, that means you show great potential."
"Thank you, princess That means a lot coming from you... So what's for lesson one? Levitation?...Concentration?"
"Open to page 9, lesson one basic levitation. With your magic try to focus on each individual page and move them across to the other side of the book." I did what she said with relative ease. Turns out its a lot easier when focusing on particular spot who knew. "Nice job. All the preliminary basics are included so just read it over. Let me know if you need any help, or when you finished lesson one's learning exercises."
"Will do princess," As I was reading over lesson one she took out an ink and quill and started writing to princess celestia. (Dear, princess Celestia yesterday evening a pony came to me and said he was from another world- A human world but not ours right now I'm teaching him how to use his magic properly and he's making great progress sincerely your fateful student Twilight sparkle). she then rolled it up and sent it on its way via magic a perk of being an alicorn. since spike was still asleep.
"Do you need any help, blaze?" She asked 10 minutes later.
"No, I'm just about done with lesson one just finishing up the activities. Right now I'm on the last one."
"Alright great work. Just let me know when you finish."
"sure thing princess,." 5 minutes later...
"All done. Anything else planned princess? Or it this all for today."
"For right now there is one thing left. here take a look at this." She said as she levitated a scroll to me.
"Transmutation!? Isn't that spell on the high end?" This must be what she meant earlier by 'unless I say otherwise' must be some sort of pop quiz.
"It is but research has shown that it is one of the best ways to measure one's magical potential. But only if you want to try it. I understand that you may be scared to attempt such a complex spell so I'm giving you a choice."
"I'll do it."
"Wait what!? You do understand the risk right? You'll be putting yourself in danger." she said shocked that I actually agreed to take the test.
"-You said it was my choice and I choose to do so. If I'm too scared or afraid to try out a new spell, how will I learn magic. I accept the terms. So if it goes wrong I'll be the one at fault."
"Alright, take as much time as you need. Read it over completely and inform me when your ready to start." She said with a hint of anxiety.
"sure thing... And before I start, I can hear your anxiety princess, please don't worry, it will be fine."
" I guess I can't hid it from you... Wait what do you mean by it?
"the gem of course. I'm ready."
"You sure? you only read over it once."
"Yes..."
"Ok, if you say so here you go. She said as she levitated a rock to me. "Start when your ready."
"Wait maybe I should look it over one more time it will only will take a sec, sorry about that sometimes I'm too confident for my own good."
"It's alright I was about to offer it to you anyways but you beat me to it."
"Alright NOW I'm ready." I said as I started to focus the magic in my horn. It's glowing a great bit brighter and smoother than last time I lit it up. I grabbed the rock with my magic and started using the spell. Magical sparks started to fly off of my horn as I poured all the magic that was currently available to me into the spell that I'm using on the rock.
The bottom of the rock started to slowly change into a diamond and slowly but surely more and more of the rock was turned into a diamond till it was completely changed. "I...I did it-" I said shortly before collapsing to the ground.
"BLAZE!!! Are you alright!?!"she asked but to no avail. he was out cold." Oh no oh no oh no... he needs to rest... rest yeah that's it he's just resting nothing bad...Nothing bad!-"
"Aaaaahhh, my head what happened..."
"Sweet celestia! Your alright! thank goodness, I thought something bad happened to you. You were out cold when I went to see if you were ok. You feeling alright?"
"yeah just a little light headed... how did I do did I...Did I pass?
"No you didn't-"
"All man I really thought that I could do it." I said cutting her off.
"You didn't let me finish, you didn't pass, you aced it."
"Wait what?!?! I aced it!"
"Yeah I'm very surprised too 90% of those who took the test couldn't complete it all the way with multi-able attempts and you around a foals of level of control give it a take. Was able to do it first try. Though it did completely drain you and caused you to pass out that only happened to about 5% of those who took it and passed. On the otherhoof 50% of the ponies that
have failed the test had passed out almost immediately. "She tried to explain. "Here take a look for yourself i'll hold onto it for you. so you can rest your magic." She said as brought it closer to me.
"Yes princess, I understand..." I said as I relaxed my horn as I was about to do so." Wow I can't believe I was able to create a diamond. I may not know how pure of a diamond but still a diamond..."
Somewhere else in the castle...
*Brrrrrupp!!* "Ahhh! What was that!? Oh just a letter from princess Celestia." He said as he rubbed his eyes. "Aaauuhh."he yawned. "What time is it?" He asked himself as he went to check the clock. "Gessowes~ I really slept in, maybe I should of saved the chapter for later instead of staying up reading it... I guess I should go deliver it to her." He said as he started to rush seeing how late he slept in. "Huh I wonder what it it's about."
