Fell In Love With A 'Girl"

Previous Chapter

Please steer clear of the doors as they are opening, the PA system of the train stated, as the train began to decrease its acceleration, We are now stopping in, Ponyville, Equestria. Once the train had made a full stop, almost all of the passengers got up from their seats and proceeded to grab their belongings and exit to the aisle-way where they would finally depart from the train, and enter into the small town.

Like the other passengers, you got up from your seat and went over to the small compartments that held your baggage above you, the mother mare noticed your movement and quickly signaled her son so that the two of them could move.

"Whelp," you began as you made your way into the aisle, "this is my stop,"

"Seems so," she replied, "have a good trip-" she waved back, and nudged her son, whose eyes were still focused on his gaming device, to do the same.

You quickly made your way over to the automatic doors where the parting passengers went through and exited the train, and did the same.

Once you were outside, your eyes widened in surprise at the scene before, it has always been said that the cities, Empires, and towns of Equuis looked like something straight out of a fantasy book, the large, towering castles of Canterlot that sat at the horizon of Ponyville, the rustic, homely, styled cottages that used thatch for the roofing, and the streets and alleyways that were covered with cobblestone.
Although using the term, 'fantasy' would no longer be considered the correct term, the setting, countries, and creatures of Equuis were like a little kid, or a D&D nerd's, dream come true.

Already enjoying the view of your new vacation-stay, you made your way over to the exit of the train station where beyond those doors, there would be the HoofStep Hotel.

However, before you could even get close to the doors of the Ponyville train station a sudden puff of smoke cloaked your vision, causing you to stumble back and fall on to the ground in surprise. The cloud of smoke quickly dissipated, and behind that smoke, a tall, serpent-like, creature wearing a red valet outfit, stood in front of you with a large grin, "Oh hello there," the animal-mishmash creature exclaimed as you, and some of the other passengers, stared at the being in awe and confusion.

This ~~odd-looking~~ gorgeously handsome creature, was non-other than the ~~crazy~~ dashing draconequus known as Discord; apparently, in Equuis, he was a chaotic god who used his powers to control the world, merely wanting to bring the world into chaos for his own amusement.

But, after being re-incased in stone a second time because of Twilight and her friends, and later became reformed because of one of the princesses' friends, Discord would soon use his powers only for good, or at least for the occasional prank.

Lucky for Earth, the portal opened up at the perfect time, as the god of chaos had completely turned a new leaf, and even though is appearance was a bit, overwhelming, for some his comedic and over the top personality made him an instant hit with every TV talk-show and radio hosts.

Oddly enough, the draconequus was offered to be the guest co-host of a popular Japanese game show, which he graciously accepted. While many in Equuis knew Discord as a reformed villain, the people of Earth viewed him as more of a celebrity personality.

While many of the Equuis creatures, as well as some of the humans that knew about the odd and comedic nature of the creature, went about their business; some either took pictures of the god of chaos with their phones or quickly walked by as not get involved with his antics.

After the shock had worn off you quickly got yourself up you picked up your belongings, I wonder if this guy... You were about to ask the former lord of chaos about the arrangements of the trip, until the shout of a pink unicorn interrupted you, "Discord," she scolded angrily as she walked over to the two. Looking over to see the mare, you notice something behind her ear, behind it was a miniature flagpole with a Korean flag, the Republic of Korea's flag or course, attached to it.

She approached the two of you with an irritated expression geared towards Discord, "Its only been a few minutes, and you're already scaring one of the tourists," she groaned at him

"Oh lighten up Starlight," he jested, "there's nothing like a good jolt to welcome our non-pony visitors-" he turned over to you, "Wouldn't you say, mister-" he paused as he waited for you to introduce yourself.

"Perlstein, Alton Perlstine," you stated, "and I, guess your right, what better way to introduce yourself than to just scare the crap outta people,"

"See," he said with a sneer, as the pink unicorn simply groaned before introducing herself as well.

"Hey there, my name is Starlight Glimmer," she greeted as she extended her hoof out to greet you.

"Sup," you greeted back as you shook her hoof, "So I'm gonna go ahead and assume the two of you are the tour guides?"

The unicorn paused a bit before answering your question, "Well, yes and no," you looked at her with a confused expression before she continued on with her explanation, "while Discord and I, as long with the others, are your tour guides, the tours have been split up based on language-" she pointed at the miniatures flag behind her ear, "as you can see, I'll be helping our Korean visitors, while the others are helping out with the other nationalities-" the mare pointed behind her where the famed elements of harmony, as well as a certain drake, and three other Equuis inhabitants, were currently busy helping other groups of tourist.

From what you could see, the Element of Kindness; Fluttershy was introducing the Japanese tourist to Ponyville.

The Element of Loyalty; Rainbow Dash, would be guiding the Dutch tourist.

The Element of Honesty, AppleJack, was busy speaking to her Russian group, which was funny to you considering a stereotypical western like her, was taking the lead in guiding a group of people from a former communist country.

The Element of Laughter was ecstatically talking to her Spanish group; the element of generosity was introducing her French group. And finally, the Princess of Friendship herself, Twilight Sparkle, was dealing with the Arabic group.

Meanwhile, a purple drake was guiding a Chinese group, while a zebra mare, a brawny, bearded blue stallion, and a white caribou, were guiding the Italian, Norwegian, and the Portuguese guest respectively.

All of them were speaking to the group in that said group native language.

The pink unicorn looked over to her group, which mostly comprised of Koreans, and quickly walked over to them but not before waving the two men goodbye, "Speaking of which, I need to get back to my group, if Discord gives you any trouble you know where to find me," she quickly told the human as she galloped over to her group.

Discord sucked his teeth at Starlight's last words, "Always such a spoilsport," he groaned. The draconequus turned to you with a quick expression change, as he smiled widely, at you, "Well then, now that she's gone, lets get you to your other English Seapking buddies," in a matter of seconds, the god of chaos generated a variety of flags in his hands; in his right was theNew Zeland, American and British flag, and in his left were the Irish, Canadian, and Austrailian flag. There was another flag in his lion paw, but it was not one you could recognize, it was a red and black flag with a diagonal white line going through.

I wonder which country that is you pondered to yourself,

"That would be the Principality of Sealand my good sir," the draconequus answered on the spot.

You widened your eyes a bit at his answer for your internal question, "How did you-"

"You do know I'm an god of chaos right, I'm just as omnipotent as Celly, you know," the draconequus stated, refering to the princess of the sun by a nickname.

"Right," you sighed, I guess the whole, god, part really should have set you off that this guy may have the ability to read thoughts.

With that awkward discovery out of the way, you picked up your bags tightly and went off inside the train station, where you would meet up with your group, Discord following along as well.

The summer sun in Ponyville shone greatly as the everypony was preparing for the summer sun celebration this year; many mares and stallions could be seen setting up in the town hall building and other going over to what would be the fair of the festival and begun setting up a few stands here and there, as well as some other electronic entertainment, such as the arcade machines that a few ponies could be seen wheeling to and from some parts of the fair, one of them being a stallion earth-pony with a slim frame.

As he wheeled the large machine, a sudden flash of light caused his eyes to toy widened, and nearly drop the machine. The quick source of light, from what the stallion could tell once his eyes dilated, came from one of the shuttle buses that drove the human visitors to the hotel; inside one of those busses, the one who blinded the working stallion appeared to be a young Japanese man who looked back at the picture to see if he got a good image.

Fluttershy, who sat at the front of the bus, as the human driver drover to the hotel, looked over at the man and told him in his native tongue if 'he could refrain from bothering the workers while they set up for the festival', the young Japanese man quickly apologized to the mare, before turning off the flash on his phone.

Inside another shuttle bus, the English shuttle bus to be exact, you along with a few of your other group members were being introduced to the town of Ponyville by a certain chaotic god, and while some of them were intrigued by the sight before them, like the mother and daughters of a family of five, who looked around the village in amazement, the elderly British couple who came to Equuis for the nature, and a few other passengers; others simply glanced around the at the buildings and structures, or ignored the setting around them as they messed with their phones.

Like the bored passengers, you simply glanced around the town of Ponyville while you listened to your music as you took in the rustic of rustic charm to the village, even though Equuis had new technologies, thanks to us of course, there was still a sort of fantastical charm to it.

As you continued to look outside the window of the bus, your guide ecstatically announced everything as showed the people around, "To your left, you can see our locally famous Bakery, Sugarcube Corner, where they make the best cupcakes," the creature pointed elsewhere as the bus continued to move, "and far over there our national treasure, the infamous windmill of our little town, and over there is-" Discord paused mid-sentence as one of the passengers raised their hand, "Yes?" he answered.

"Yeah, so," the passenger began as he pointed to a purple crystalline castle, "Is that castle over there really made from crystal?"

Discord smiled, "Ah, perfect sight," the draconequus commended, "Yes, the castle of Princess Twilight Sparkle is made of one-hundred percent, genuine, crystal, but I must warn you not to try and take, or break any, off of the castle-" just as he finished saying that, another hand, which belonged to the mother of the family of five, rose up, " Yes,"

The mother excitedly asked, "When are we meeting princess Sparkle?" she asked grinning.

"When we get to the hotel," the draconequus replied, to which the blonde mother lowered her hand, but her grin still showing on her face, "Now if any of you have any more questions-" almost everyone rose their hands, "not pertaining to my conception-" all the arms quickly went down, "We can continue with the tour," with that said, the tour continued on.

The draconequus showed off many of the other towns buildings, and telling bits of history and little fun facts about the small town, such as the Parasprite infestation, which was stopped thanks to the Element of Laughter's one-mare-band, and the time half of the entire town was poisoned because of a certain farmer.

Of course, you didn't listen to much of it as you were relaxing to your music.

Soon, the buses began to decline in speed as your hotel came into close view; the hotel was nothing too different, though the structure and design of it contrasted with the vibrantly colorful world that was Equuis, it was a simple towering building that used tan-bricks, and at the very top of the building the words Hoofington Hotel could be seen clear as day, Looks alright, you though to yourself, hope they have wi-fi here,

One by one, the passengers of each bus began to pile out and head over to the hotel to finally, and truly, relax.

Once you entered through the doors of the hotel, you were slightly taken aback by how tall the building really was, floors that reached up to the tens, a large fountain in the middle of the entrance hall of the building and glass elevator shafts that lead to each of the different floors.

Ultimately what caught your eye was the interior design of the hotel, it was somewhat of a mix of Victorian and Modern style to it that mixed almost perfectly, I knew that, with us being the first to visit this place, would get some kind of special treatment, but I wasn't expecting this! You began to absent-mindedly walk both out of curiosity of the design, and to find the help desk to ask check-in your room.

As you did that, however, suddenly someone had bumped into you "Oh crap," you sighed "Hey, sorry about-" you paused mid-sentence as the 'person' who had bumped into you was an inhabitant of Equuis, a dragoness to be more precise, and looked back at you with the same embarrassed expression.

However, it wasn't the fact that she was a dragon caused you to stare, there was something more to it; her presence, her appearance, perhaps it was the somewhat intense color of her white scales, ultramarine fins, and arctic-blue eyes but something about her caused your heart to beat a bit faster.

"Oh sorry about that," the dragoness apologized, not taking notice of your long gaze, and then quickly bowed before moving on her way, leaving you standing there with a forlorn expression.

As you watched her walk out, even though she was no longer there, your hearts pace continued beating, what the hell was that you pondered, as you placed your hand over your chest to feel your heartbeat, why did my heart feel like it was gonna lift out of my chest, back there

"Ah, summer love" the sudden, yet familiar voice, caused you to jump before turning to a certain draconequus who had a large smirk on his face, "I must say, I was not expecting this so suddenly, but who am I to judge,"

"What are you saying?," you questioned with an embarrassed expression, your cheeks reddened as the draconequus looked at you closer.

"Ha," he exclaimed with a triumphant expression, "You may try to hide your embarrassment, but clear all over your face that somebody just found there-" his active levels dropped, almost Barry White levels of deep, as he inched closer to the human, "summer love,"

Having enough of his bits and antics, you quickly grabbed your bags and headed for the help desk as the draconequus watched you with a chuckle as you left for the help desk, but quickly stopped once he felt a nudge on his side, the one who nudged him turning out to be a certain farmer pony, "Ya botherin' one a' our guest, Discord" she questioned

The draconequus simply looked back at her with a smirk before looking back up at you, "I would say it was less of a bother," he replied, "just simply pointing out the inevitable,"

Man, that guy's weird, you thought to yourself, as the elevator made its ascension to the fifth floor of the hotel. After you had met with help desk mare, even though you were still slightly peeved from the draconequus' interactions, she kindly handed you your room key.

Surprisingly, yet thankfully, she also gave you the wi-fi code to the hotel. While some of the more urban cities in Equuis were newly implementing internet technologies into their towns, places like Ponyville or Griffonstone were still getting used to televisions and phones being in their homes, so it seems that it was another kind gesture of the princess to add this feature into the hotel. You weren't sure how, but hey who are you to question free internet.

The elevator slowly came to a stop as you had reached your floor, as another kind gesture by the hotel staff, a bell-colt went with you to help with your bags, while you would have kindly declined the offer, considering the bags were not that heavy, who are you to say no to free help.

The doors to the elevator quickly opened, and you, as well as the bell-hop, proceeded to exit the shaft and onwards to your room.
As the two of you walked, you attempted to strike up a conversation with the bellhop, you were never really the type of person to start a discussion, but considering you were vacationing on a completely alien world you might as well try "So," you began, "magic huh,"

"Hmm," the bellhop hummed inquisitively

"I mean, that whole, magic stuff sure is crazy right, hehe," you awkwardly laughed

"Not really," the stallion responded, "considering it's part of our everyday life, I wouldn't really call it crazy,"

"Yeah," yet another awkward conversation, great job Alton! With a defeated smile, you placed your headphones on to your head and was about to play a song from your digital list.

As you were about to, however, you noticed the bellhop stop and turned, which caught your attention as you turned to where he was looking, "Here's your room sir," he responded, as you proceded to open the door with your room key.

The inside of your room was quite average for earth standards, two king-sized beds, an office desk, mini-fridge, a dresser with a flat screen television on top, and finally; a large window, which displayed all of Ponyville, was to the left of the room that pulled it all together. The two of you entered the room, and the stallion proceded to place your bags off of the golden cart, once he was done, you thanked him for his help, and tipped the assistant with three bits from your bag.

Once the door was closed, you finally got to work setting up your gear, "Alright, let's do this..."

The once blue sky of Ponyville soon shifted into a hazel orange as the day continued on, in that glow of the evening, you sat on our ever so comfortable bed and proceeded to play a very nostalgic game of high-speed roller skating on your childhood console. After you had finished setting up your portable speaker, laptop and drawing tablet, along with your black boxy console, you decide to chill out for the rest of the day and play some Jet Set Radio Future before venturing out to the rest of the hotel.

This had been your childhood game ever since your big brother introduced it to you, for as long as you could remember you would play this game night and day getting every achievement you could get, and even restarting the game from scratch just for the fun of it.

In fact, it was because of this game, that it broke you out of your anti-social shell and got you the great group of friends you know today.

As you played the game, you encounter a familiar blue-haired character who was, as embarrassing as it was to admit, was your first-time crush as a kid, and she proceeded to tell you about your mission.

Looking at the character, her familiar color palette reminded you of that a certain dragoness that caused your heart rate to go up, "why-" you began, "why did I feel so weird looking at to her like my heart was about to fly out of my chest, I mean, it's definitely not because of some condition, so-" you stopped midsentence as you suddenly remembered what Discord had said...

"You may try to hide your embarrassment, but clear all over your face that somebody just found their, summer love..."

"I mean,I geuss she was pretty cute," you admitted to yourself with a chuckle as the next song on your Bluetooth played in the background, while you went back to playing your game.

As you continued playing the game, a sudden knock on your door caught your attention, "I wonder who that could be," you quickly paused the game, as well as your music, and went over to open the door.

The moment you opened the door, you were greeted with a sweet, sickly, smell, a mixture of apples, mangos, and melon, assaulted your nostrils, and as you looked down to see the source of the smell, you internally groaned as you quickly became frustrated by the overstocked monster in front of you; in front of you, was a large assortment of fruits of varying colors, the basket that held the fruits seemed stuffed to the brim as bits of grapes spilled over a bit from wooden basket.

Inside the grossly over stoked basket was a small note card that read, "WELCOME TO EQUESTRIA!", the white letter was stained a bit from the fruits inside.

"Fruit baskets," you groaned, "Why'd it have to be fruit baskets,"
