Tracking Down A Friend
Trying To Find A Friend
Load Full StoryOne day during a beautiful morning in Ponyville Cheerilee was rushing through town after class had ended as she was looking for Lyra as she had heard that Lyra and Bon Bon were moving out of Ponyville that day.
Unfortunately she couldn't find Lyra anywhere. She couldn't imagine not being able to say bye to her friend before she left for good. She was looking everywhere that Lyra could be at but so far she wasn't having any luck.
She soon finished looking near the places that Lyra could be at but couldn't find her. She decided to go to her empty home and ask if she was there. She knocked a couple of times and waited.
As she waited she realized that Lyra wasn't there. She knocked again and waited. A slight breeze rushed past her as she looked around her. She knocked again and waited a few more moments and then decided to try something else. She turned around and tried to see if she could ask anybody. She soon saw Minuette whistling as she skipped past her.
"Minuette? Do you know where Lyra is?" Cheerilee asked. Minuette stopped and put a finger to her lips.
"I don't know really. She might already be on her way to her new place but I'm not sure. Princess Twilight might know." Minuette said. Cheerilee thanked her and started running towards the castle. When she got to the castle she saw Spike sitting outside admiring a picture of him and Rarity. When he saw Cheerilee he blushed and hid it in his pocket.
"Spike I'm looking for Twilight to find out where Lyra is Is Twilight still sleeping?" Cheerilee asked. Spike tilted his head to the side in confusion.
"No she's at the dance studio practicing...why would Twilight know where Lyra is anyway? What does it matter to you? Lyra is gonna be gone in a few minutes." Spike said.
"Well that's why I'm in a hurry. I need to talk to her." Cheerilee said. Spike shrugged.
"Go see Twilight as Twilight did help out with the move...I don't think the studio would like you barging in on Twilight though..." Spike began to say.
"I don't really care if they don't like it this is important!" Cheerilee exclaimed.
"Why is it important? Don't you have her address so you can go and see her?" Spike asked with a eye roll.
"No I don't. What should I do?" Cheerilee asked.
"Go interrupt Twilight and ask her then. Just be aware that instructor won't be to happy about you interrupting her though." Spike said. Cheerilee immediately walked out.
"To bad I'm going." Cheerilee said. Spike stared at her with a confused expression.
"Should have talked to her when you had he chance!" Spike yelled as Cheerilee walked out. Cheerilee walked to the studio and barged in. She saw that Twilight was doing grand plies while facing the barre in a sleeveless leg less leotard and ballet slippers. Cheerilee walked over to her.
"Cheerilee? Aren't you supposed to be teaching class?" Twilight teased. Cheerilee ignored her question.
"Twilight where's Lyra? Did she leave yet?" Cheerilee asked Twilight. Twilight did another grand plié and spoke.
"I don't know. Last time I saw her was when's he was closing her lease which was like yesterday morning. You should have asked her when she was here." Twilight said as she did another grand plié. Cheerilee sighed.
"I was busy teaching so I didn't have time to ask her. Can you please help me out?" Cheerilee asked. Twilight shrugged.
"I'm sorry but I can't. I would not know where she would be anyway I don't follow her around I'm not a stalker. Maybe Big Mcintosh will know he talked to her last." Twilight said.
"Oh so I have to go to Sweet Apple Acres is that it? They are all the way up the hill!" Cheerilee complained.
"Great! You need the exercise. Good luck!" Twilight teased as she did another grand plié. Cheerilee groaned and left. Cheerilee proceeded to walk to the farm as she was not looking forward to try and look everywhere for her friend.
She walked to Sweet Apple Acres as her legs started to get tired. She realized that Twilight was probably right about her needing to walk longer distances more. When she got there she couldn't see anybody around so she knocked on the door and waited.
She continued to wait there as wind brushed past her. She knocked again but was met with silence. She kept waiting as it got a bit cold. She started to rock side to side until someone answered the door but no one answered.
She looked through the windows but couldn't see anyone. She left as she decided to go find her friend by herself. She was not looking forward to going on a long goose chase to see her friend. She wished that her friend had waited for a bit more but knew that it had not been up to her.
She ran throughout the entire town and then decided to leave the town to look for her friend. She ran a few short miles and walked a few short miles but couldn't find her close enough to home.
She became disappointed that her friend had not said goodbye to her at day. She really wanted to see her but realized that it had been to late. She walked home in a sad depressed state.
When she got home she stayed inside her place all day and went to teach class the next day as she never seemed to cheer up. This continued for days on end as she cried over the fact that she had allowed herself to forget saying hello to her friend.
Then a day later she got a letter in the mail from Derpy. Inside the letter was Lyra telling her how she was now in her new place and said that she was sorry for not being able to stay around a bit longer. Lyra promised to come and visit her and also said that she was giving her a map so that she can visit her all the time if she wanted to.
Cheerilee saw the letter and became overjoyed. She was glad that Lyra had not vanished from her life. She couldn't wait to go and see Lyra as she wanted to see her very soon. She realized that she had freaked out over nothing as Lyra would have sent her stuff to find her since she forgot to give her a map before she left.
Cheerilee smiled. She could not wait to see her friend again.
