Fly to the Stars and Back (Redone)
Chapter 26: Damn It
Previous ChapterNext ChapterBlitz sighed in the captain’s quarters when his communicator rang. “You got Silver Cross.” He answered as he accepted the call.
“Is that any way to introduce yourself to your new foal?” Twilight asks while smirking as she lifted him up higher to show him.
“Huh?” Blitz asks, looking at the screen.
Twilight smiles. “Our egg hatched Blitz. Say hello to your new son.” She said as the foal coos at him. “What are we going to name him?”
“So our foal is a unicorn, huh?” Blitz asks.
Twilight moves some cloth and shows his back. “Alicorn.” She said as he sees the wings.
“I see…Arcane Force,” Blitz suggests.
Twilight giggles. “Really, your chosen queen name for me?”
“I think it fits as you will be known as Queen Arcane to the changelings soon enough,” Blitz says.
Twilight grins. “Won’t that be confusing? Queen Arcane, prince Arcane. Come on. I think it would confuse even changelings.”
“Not really, as usually, it is the last name that is used after titles,” Blitz says ass Azure climbs onto Twilight to see Blitz.
Twilight smiled as she looks down at the foal. “Would you like that? Arcane Force?” The newborn giggles as Twilight’s nose tickled him. “Arcane Force it is. Say hello to your father, little Arcane.” She said, holding him up to the screen as Arcane giggles.
Blitz smiles. “Now I have another reason to hope this war ends soon, and with six of the twenty-six war chiefs of the diamond dogs dead, the end is coming into view,” Blitz says.
Twilight giggles as Blazer come into view. “Blazer here came along safely too. Still don’t know mental state on him.”
“Just take care of him best you can, Twi,” Blitz says, smiling.
Twilight nods. “Sure thing Blitz. Just come back safe. For all of us.” She said as all the young ones said something in their own language.
“Dad,” Blazer said suddenly.
Blitz just smiles. “Make that three new reasons,” Blitz says before looking at Blazer. “I can’t replace your father, but I’ll make a good enough father for you, okay?”
Blazer nods. “Sure thing, dad.” He said, smiling before Azure jumps off and lands on his back, making them both laugh as Arcane giggles and reaches for them.
Blitz smiles again before turning his head to the door. “Sorry, I have to go. The captain I recently picked up wants to talk.” Blitz says, ending the call.
“Bye, Dad,” Blazer said while Azure said something, and Arcane tries his way.
Twilight sighs as she puts her hoof down and sees the changelings and Octavia. “Now we can talk to the princesses and my family. Now, where did I leave that transportation dust?”
Octavia giggles as a changeling gives her a sack. “Here it is, my queen. Shall I take the new prince off your hooves for a bit?” She asks.
“No, no, just let me write a few letters quickly,” Twilight says, grabbing a quill, ink, and a few scrolls with her magic.
They wait as she keeps writing on all the scrolls before sending them off. “Okay, now we just…”
“New foal!” Luna cheers as she teleported into the room.
“You’re late.” Twilight jokes.
Luna giggles as she looks over the new foal. “I was putting some stuff away. Mainly my tablet. Now let’s see the new foa…”
“Yes, Luna, he is an alicorn. His name is Arcane Force.” Twilight says.
Luna keeps staring at him as Arcane coos as he looks at her. “He’s certainly a strange one, with these contrasting colors.” She said, noting his eyes and mane. “But…this is impossible. There can’t be a male alicorn.”
“Well, what am I holding?” Twilight asks.
Luna frowns at her a bit. “You really have gotten more sarcastic than ever, have you?”
“A side effect from my husband,” Twilight says, smiling.
Luna smiled and shook her head. “Oh, Twilight.” She said before looking back at Arcane. “Sister is going to have a fit when she sees him.”
“I sent her a letter along with my brother and my parents. By the way, Octavia, call the others.” Twilight says.
Octavia nods and starts calling everyone up. Luna, however, was still looking Arcane over. “Can I…hold him?” She asks carefully.
“Just don’t drop him, or your death will be excruciating,” Twilight says, smiling as the changelings hiss a bit at Luna.
Luna giggles nervously as she takes Arcane. “You’re a cute one. Yes, you will get many mares.” She said as she messes with a tuft of mane on Arcane’s head as he giggled.
Twilight smiles before she heard horns being blown outside. “I say Cadance and Shining have arrived,” Twilight says.
Cadance suddenly slams open the door. “Where’s the new foal?” She asks almost menacingly as Blazer and Azure whimper in fear as they backpedal a bit. “Oh, take it easy, you two…wait.” She said before looking at the two carefully. “Who are you?” She asks, pointing at Blazer.
“Will explain later, but if you’re looking for Arcane Force, princess Luna is holding him,” Octavia says.
Cadance suddenly runs over so quickly; she leaves a dust trail behind her. “So what do we got? Oh…” She cooed as she sees Arcane looking at her before giggling. “A unicorn. As I excepted. And such contrast.” She said, now playing with the tuft of mane on his head.
Luna giggles. “Actually, alicorn.” She said, showing the wings a bit. “He’s going to get a lot of requests.”
Cadance smiled. “I would expect so. He’ll be a mare killer. Right?” She asks Arcane before nuzzling his face and makes him laugh.
Twilight smiled as they played with him and looks him over before sighing. “Yes, brother, he’s an alicorn.” She said as she felt the message sent by the other changelings.
Shining was just a little slackjawed. “I just…well…also, what’s a griffon doing here?” He asks, trying to steer the conversation in another direction.
“We will explain later,” Octavia says again.
Shining was trying to keep his speech going. “Well…um…”
“Do we have a new grandfoal?” Velvet asks, peeking her head around a corner.
“Mom, dad, you are far earlier than expected,” Twilight says, surprised.
Velvet giggles as they come from around the corner. “We found a hotel nearby. They let us in easy.” She said before looking around. “Now, where’s our new grandfoal?”
“Here he is. Arcane Force.” Twilight says happily.
Velvet cheers a bit before going over to Luna and Cadance as they show the foal. “Aw, he’s beautiful. He’s definitely going to be getting lots of mares.”
“Yes, dad, he is an alicorn,” Twilight says.
Night chuckles. “Nah, just happy you got your own foal now. Congratulations sweetie. It feels like just yesterday, and you were asking us that you could only check out five books when you wanted ten from the library. ‘I could only have five?’” He asks in his best impression of Twilight’s voice.
“Yeah, time flies,” Twilight says happily that the changelings transformed to look like normal ponies when they heard the horns.
Night sighs as he looks to the other two in the room. “What’s with the griffon?”
“Is everypony going to ask that?” Octavia asks, annoyed.
Night frowns a bit at her. “It’s just because we know Blitz didn’t marry a griffon, so there’s no way it could be his. So what’s with the little one?”
“He was sent back to us by Blitz to look after. That is all we will say right now,” Octavia says.
Night held a straight face before leaning down to the griffon. “You will be good, right?” He asks in a tone that made Shining freeze up.
“Grandfather?” Blazer asks.
Night tilts his head before smiling. “Yep, unless you have a family of your own, do you?”
Blazer freezes up, and Octavia walks over and whispers. “His parents were butchered in front of him by Diamond Dogs.”
Night frowns before looking at Blazer, who was staring blankly before hitting him over the head, shaking him out of the blank expression. “Wake up, boy. That’s the past, and you won’t escape it, but you can move past it, fight through it. Would your parents want you to dwell on them like this? Not moving on and living your life?” He asks in a fatherly tone as they all look at them now.
“Tell the others in private, ok?” Octavia whispers.
Night nods as Blazer just stared at him. “Come on, kid. Let’s get something to eat, and we can talk there.”
“You go tell the cook to ready a meal and include food for a griffon,” Twilight instructs.
Night nods and leads Blazer out. “Come on, kid. You’ll learn a lot now you’re here.” He said before they left.
Luna sighs and gives Arcane back to Twilight. “Where are the others?”
“Either doing their jobs or living their lives. They will come when able.” Twilight says.
Cadance smiled. “Well, you have a wonderful family now. Congrats Twilight.”
“Yes, and you are taking my son is an alicorn better than Luna,” Twilight says.
Cadance giggles. “Well, there is something on my family that might explain this, but let me think for a bit.”
“Ok,” Twilight says, nuzzling Arcane.
Velvet giggles as she sat by her. “You will never forget us, will you?” She asks as Azure comes up and sat on her lap.
Twilight smiled. “Of course not. You’re my parents.”
Cadance gasps. “I got it. The reason why you have a son, possibly, by the way, is that alicorns can be born stallions too. It is just that none have been before now. It just goes to show an alicorn parent having an alicorn baby is like any other pony.” Cadence says.
Twilight smiled as she looks down at Arcane and nuzzles him while Velvet pet Azure’s mane. “Guess you’re right. Never expected him to be male, though. Maybe because there isn’t much of us.”
“Oh, just wait until my sister gets here. This will rock her world.” Luna says. “Is that right?”
Twilight smiled. “Yes, that’s how you say it, and this will definitely change how we view the world. Though I may need to make a long-term schedule.”
“On how to spend time with your husband?” Luna asks, smirking.
Twilight giggles. “No, for little Arcane here. I got to start planning things. Right?” She asks, nuzzling him.
Blitz leans against the railing as he waits for Silver to return from the meeting with Lightning is next to him. “So what do you think we got next?” Lightning asks after a while.
“Wait for the commander to return,” Blitz says.
Lightning sighs. “I meant with whatever they got planned. What’s possibly next?”
“We will see what happens next, and then we shall see,” Blitz says.
Lightning sighs and leans in a bit close. “Think the kid is alright?”
“He’s fine. Knowing Twi, she is already planning on his education, and yes, I mean Blazer and Arcane.” Blitz says.
Lightning chuckles. “Yeah, that would be her. Would it be normal if she made a timetable based on which grade they are in?”
“It would be strange, and I would think it was an imposter if she didn’t.” Blitz jokes.
Lightning laughs. “Yeah, if she didn’t make any list, I’m afraid of it being a changeling body double.”
‘That would be really disappointing when you two go to bed together.’ Blitz sends smirking.
Lightning sighs and looks to the view again. “When do you think this will be over?”
“You never know,” Blitz says.
Lightning nods. “Yeah, guess you’re right. Still…do you ever wish for it to end, like sooner?”
“Wishing it won’t end it faster. You have to take action for that.” Blitz says.
Lightning sighs. “I still wish it could happen.”
‘Getting impatient?’ Blitz sends.
‘Tired.’ She sends back.
‘Just bear with it. You are not the only one.’ Blitz sends.
‘You too?’ She sends.
‘Yeah.’ Blitz sends.
Lightning steps a bit closer. “What do you want to do when this is over? Head home?”
“Like a shot,” Blitz says.
Lightning smiled. “Good, we need you, you know that.”
‘As I need you all.’ Blitz sends.
Lightning sighs. “Oh well, now where’s, oh, there he is.” She said, turning around and seeing Silver come over to them.
“Get the men prepped,” Blitz says.
Silver nods as Lightning walk off. “Yeah, the plan is to,” Silver says before whispering to him.
Blitz looks at him carefully. “Really, that’s the plan?”
Silver nods. “Yeah, you think you’re ready?”
“I think we can manage,” Blitz says, smirking as he eyes the canons of the ship.
Silver smirks. “Now, how about a little pirate chase?”
“Leave it to me. Take the Sureshot with you. Three ships are what is needed for this stage of the operation.” Blitz says.
Silver nods. “You better get ready and call your friend. I’ll get my men ready.” He said before walking off.
Blitz sighs before looking to Lightning. “Surge, get our team ready.”
After a while, Blitz tries to hold himself in but lets out a chuckle once in a while. “Why can’t I contain myself?”
Lightning smirks. “Because you get to unleash Tartarus on these dogs.”
Blitz chuckles some more. “Oh yeah. Wonder how his end is going?”
“You sure we got their attention?!” A griffon beside Silver yells as they quickly rush back.
Silver hangs on as the griffon falls down from a cannonball hitting them. “Want to go back there and check?!” Silver yells back as he kept his eyes on the sky ahead and the incoming pass.
“Alright, men, full speed ahead,” Blitz says.
Silver growls a bit as he looks around and sees the pass coming up until he notices something. “Cross, can you tell everyone to hang onto something, maybe a rope or rail?!”
“All hands brace!” Blitz yells.
Silver yells to the nearby griffon before he took off, and a few more griffons went after him. And Silver quickly turns the wheel, and everyone felt the ship turning in a circle while still flying ahead. “Now, this is how you fly an airship!” Silver cheers as they enter the pass, and the griffons on the side try to keep it steady.
The dogs just looked dumbfounded. “Did you see that?”
“Did you see how he turned the ship?”
“Fire broadside!” Blitz yells.
The dogs quickly look to their side and see multiple airships just waiting before they fire their cannons and hit the dog’s ship, and destroyed some of their master and rudder too. “Artillery, go!” Blitz yells again as the airship was trying to stay upside down, and he hangs onto the rope.
Cannon fire was heard from around a hill, and some smoke came out before whistling was heard, and a larger cannonball hits the ships and sends one down. “Now take them out!” Blitz yells as the airship finally files up and rights itself, and everyone sighs in relief.
The ships on the sides throw some grappling hooks and pull the ruined dog ships closer to them before boarding and then connecting the dog ships themselves. “Let’s head back,” Blitz said, to which Silver nods and steers them back to the fight, and as soon as they get close enough, they jump ship and board. “Where are you?” Blitz asks himself, trying to find the chief. Blitz stopped when he saw a dog in better clothes signifying he was the warlord. The only problem was he was missing half his body.
“Ah shit. There goes that chief.” Blitz said before a dizzy dog lands beside him. “Hey, buddy, where’s your other chief?”
The dog doesn’t answer as he falls over dead with a bullet hole through his chest. “Our guys are getting better,” Blitz says.
Lightning yells as she grabs a dog’s paw and pushes him to the rail, and then kicks him overboard with a knee to the jaw. “Think we can have the ghost team when this war is over?”
Blitz elbows a dog’s stomach and makes him kneel over before kicking him over the rail. “Doubt it, but maybe we would get a few of the strongest they can give,” Blitz said as he sends. ‘What, you take a liking to a few of the females?’
Lightning fumes a bit before jumping up and kicking a dog in the cheek and sends him off. ‘No, just that more griffons might help Blazer.’
‘I know, just teasing you love.’ Blitz sends breaking one’s back.
Lightning scoffs and jumps on one’s back and twists its neck. ‘Don’t mess with me like that.’ She sends jumping off the dog as it fell.
‘Ok, I’ll save that joke for you with Spitfire or Rainbow.’ Blitz sends decapitating three with his claws.
Lightning shakes her head before jumping on a spearheading for her and kicks the dog in the face before jumping off and takes the spear and stabs him with it. “How much longer will this go on, and where’s the other chief? He should be out by now.”
“I don’t think he is here. We got one out of the eight that were confirmed.” Blitz says, flipping the dog over the railing.
Lightning groans. “Dang it.” She said before holding a hoof up to the spearheaded for her, and the dog stops before she pulls the spear away and slaps him across the face with the wooden end before turning it around and stabs him in the neck, and pushes him off the side. “Okay, I’m bored.”
“We are done,” Blitz says as they finished clearing the deck.
Lightning huffs. “Good, I was getting tired.” She said, sitting down as some of the dogs were captured and tied up. “So what, we just take the ships and infiltrate their base?”
“No, we abandon ship as the ship has lost altitude control in favor of our own,” Blitz says.
Lightning looks a bit worried. “So we leave now?”
“Yes, more me than you because you have wings,” Blitz says.
Lightning looks around. “So I can go?” Blitz says nothing but Lightning could feel his stare at her. “Right.” She said before taking off and heads to their small camp nearby.
Blitz sighs as he leisurely gets onto his airship before the enemy airship loses all attitude control and plummets towards the ground. After a while of interrogation, Silver finally gets the reports and sees that they only revealed some of their camps, half of which are already dealt with. “Dang it, at this rate, we’ll never get this done.”
“You’re telling me, but what should be our next step?” Blitz asks as he sat beside him and looks over the paperwork.
Silver scratches his head. “No idea as of now, maybe trying to find these leftover camps, but they could be done with ease. At this point, they don’t even need us. There is the chance new orders will come in from the kingdom, but that’s a long way away. You got anything?“
“So with this, we have punched a hole in the offensive line of the Dogs,” Blitz says.
Silver nods. “Yeah, big enough to drive a ship through. We just need a clear target, and we can’t do that without scouting. I don’t even have that yet with the patrols and watchers on the high mountains. We need a break on this or an assault on some areas and gain control too.”
“Not to mention, when they hear another warchief is dead, they are going to come barreling at us. So when were you going to tell us we were bait?” Blitz asks.
Silver smirks. “Never, my boy, never.”
“First, I should be the one saying that to you, and second, you’re going to have to take responsibility for this and command this till the end,” Blitz says flatly.
Silver sighs. “I know, I know. We just need a solid lead first.”
“To the front, you,” Blitz says.
Silver groans a bit before the tent flap was moved. “Excuse me. I was told I could find Silver Claw here.” A voice said, and they look over to see a black-garbed griffon.
“Ah, ninja ranger.” Blitz mused, looking at the captain.
The captain huffs and shows some papers. “Here, another camp and chief gone.” He said, throwing them down on the table. “I’ll be going now. You’re welcome, by the way.”
“He got away, didn’t he?” Blitz asks, making him stop.
The captain looks back at him. “Unfortunately. His location is in there. Where he’ll be, now then, I shall take my leave.”
“He evaded our trap as well. This one is not like the other war chiefs.” Blitz says, making the captain stop again.
The captain sighs. “Look, I don’t have a lot of time. I need to finish my job. You can handle it however you want.”
“Find the spy in our camp,” Blitz says, causing him to freeze.
The captain stares at him. “Spy, huh? I can’t, though.”
“You will as a Knight Major, I have the authority to order you to do it and do not test me on this,” Blitz says.
The captain huffs. “I’m not even part of your squad.”
“But you are still lower rank and don’t think I won’t suit you for insubordination right now,” Blitz says, threat carrying weight.
The captain glares a bit at him. “I told you, not even a part. I’m on my own. You just got this for me.”
“I kill for fewer reasons of insubordination in my clan,” Blitz says, drawing a blaster, showing he was serious.
The griffon laughs as he starts walking away. “That’s ironic. For me, you know. I was supposed to die. Guess you get that chance instead of an executioner, but not now.”
“You don’t get a choice,” Blitz says, shooting him with a stun bolt.
“Bas…” He tried to say as he fell down. “You don’t even know me.” He grunts.
“And I don’t give a fuck. We are fighting a war here, a bloody war here and we all either work together to get out alive or go cowboy like you and chase after our own personal vendettas and get people killed. Yes, I am calling you out on that. So unless you shape up and start thinking about more than your obsession, then get out of here and never show your face in this country again.” Blitz says sternly.
The griffon huffs before actually getting up and seals up the tent flap, and takes off his mask. “Idiot commander and actually now a smart brother. Not bad.” Silver’s brother said.
“It seems he won’t help then,” Blitz says, holstering his blaster.
The griffon scoffs. “Of course I won’t. I was just looking for any camps to take care of. I just happen to meet you. Then I realized who you were actually working for. I gave you what you wanted, and I got mine. You want him, you got a week, and I can get you a path through it, just need two days.” He offered.
“Do what you will. Some of us have work to do that will save lives.” Blitz says, walking away.
“For just a town or the many to come?” He asks.
Blitz doesn’t answer and disappears.
“He’s looking for the source, brother, and you know it. I can lead you in and strike a crippling blow that will give you time. Two days to set up, five camps, five days, each one harder than the last, but well worth it in the end. It’s your choice because I’m going that way anyway. I have to.”
“You are obsessed.” Silver says bluntly.
He huffs. “Right, I am. I am because I’m marked for death anyway. I might as well die a hero’s death and take as many of them with me. Maybe ending warchief’s, by the way, I got three down, you can mark that. I want to at least give my dead men an act of proper revenge, or I’m dying for nothing by going back and ending up on the chopping block.”
“My men are not moving. If we move, then the dogs have a clear path into our territory.” Silver says sternly.
The griffon smirks. “Yes, they do. Then I guess I can have fun taking them down instead. I could just have easily passed them up and head to whoever started this and end him, and when I got him down, I take down as many as they come for me. I can at least give my men that. You, however, are stuck on defense and watching a pass. You could have just stuck some large boulders in place and lifted it up by airships. You know that, right?”
“You haven’t changed. You are just as egotistical and self-absorbed as when you murdered that servant for your amusement. This isn’t about your men or a good end. This is for your ego and glory.” Silver says.
The griffon glares. “I’m dead anyway. Don’t you remember? Marked for death the minute I left my post. This isn’t about those last two. I want to make it up to my men and show them I can at least be a good commander and what they wanted to do. If it’s for glory, I’m not marked for death. If it’s for ego, then I would hot-headed and rushing in. Both of those are not my endgame. My endgame is getting what my men deserve, an honorable death with the head of the dog who burned them.”
“So he is gone now?” Blitz asks the obviously upset Silver.
Silver huffs. “Yep, on his own wild crusade. He thinks he can get revenge for his men and just take down as many as he can get.”
“If we are lucky, he will at least distract the dogs for a bit. I was serious when I said we have a spy in our camp somewhere as the war chief evaded us twice. One would be lucky, twice someone has told him ahead of time.” Blitz says.
Silver sighs. “Then how do we deal with this problem?”
“That we need to think on a bit,” Blitz says.
Silver groans. “Think he would be that easy to spot?”
“To tell the truth, our unit has expanded so much we can’t know them all personally, and the spy might not even be in our unit, but in one of the other two we are working with.”
Silver nods and looks to see some griffons and ponies around a fire and talking. “Yes, the drawback of having a big unit, traitors can hide easily. Still, the only way we can catch them is if we make another move and see who goes away. It has to be one who has access to our plans and debriefings since we keep that small and then can head out easily, maybe being on patrol on the border before we head out.”
“It may even be one of the leaders of the other units,” Blitz says.
Silver frowns. “And I hate for that to be a possibility.”
“We can’t necessarily rule it out, can we?” Blitz asks.
Silver shakes his head. “No, but we can hope. Even though that’s a low chance of there being any hope.”
‘Love, we got a traitor in the camp. Watch yourself.’ Blitz sends.
Spike sighs as he watches the final preparations and repairs from a camera screen on his tablet in his room until he spotted something interesting as his door opened. “Oh, hey Slen…what are they doing here, and how did you get them here?” Spike asks, seeing the three fillies right behind her.
Slender giggles as the fillies enter and look around the room that had the walls littered with papers and scribbles. “Oh, just something I knew would work. As for how, well…” She said, looking behind her, and he sees a Mandalorian soldier looking freaked. “She scares me.” He said simply before walking away.
“You keep that up, and someone will shoot you and maybe even kill you,” Spike says.
Slender giggles. “Spikey, I’m doing this for you. I can’t do it on my own. Besides, I won’t die, not when you’re still around. Believe it or not, you need me and those three now, more than ever.” She said as the fillies were either now on the bed or looking over the scribbles that seemed like battle plans.
“Yeah, yeah,” Spike says.
Slender seems to smirk as all three fillies sat on the bed and surrounded Spike as he wraps his tail around them. “Do you feel it, Spike, that feeling you had when you originally took this plan?” She asks, sitting behind them and curling around them.
“Yes,” Spike says, huffing a bit.
Slender leans in close. “And what was that?” She asks as the fillies lean against his tail or body. “Why did you originally take this training? Why does it when you could have just walked away and let someone more qualified to do this?”
Spike presses his lips together before looking at the three fillies who were smiling at him. “I took it, so no one else had to. After what I went through, I don’t want them to have the thought of having the idea of genocide over their heads if they have to. Also…I took it to protect you guys, so you don’t have to experience the danger up close and personal. If it does come, then I want it to be watched far away and you guys away from it so you don’t hurt. I want you girls safe.” He said, now petting Apple Bloom’s mane. “Now, what are you?” Spike asks, trying to check this thing in the video.
They lean over and see a robotic creature that resembled a dog and timberwolf with guns on its back on the tablet’s freeze-frame. “What is that?” Scootaloo asks.
“That would be a command wolf. It is a part of our planetary forces and, to an extent, a living machine.” Mandalore says, walking in.
All the fillies freeze up as Slender cover them partially with her tail. “And what are you doing here? The next test isn’t until tomorrow.” She said, placing a hoof around Spike’s shoulder.
“Because we traced someone hacking our security cameras,” Mandalore says.
Slender somewhat glares at Spike. “I thought I told you to use multiple IP addresses.”
“I did,” Spike says.
Slender leans in a bit more. “Did you use another device other than the one that has your name on it?”
“Yes, and I re-routed it through multiple ships and then their bridges,” Spike says.
The fillies look at him. “Did you block new ips from coming in?” Sweetie Belle asks.
“I did that as well,” Spike says.
“You used your account,” Mandalore said. “For the initial start on the system. It was still logged in somewhere else. I think the Steam game program reminds you of something?”
Spike blushes and looks through the tablet and brings up Steam, and sees it still has him logged in. “Oops.”
“Yeah, and since you like to travel around, you travel and make a delivery run with some other Mandalorians as they go to the planet,” Mandalore says to Slender.
Slender growls a bit before feeling a claw on her neck and sees Spike smiling. “It’s okay. You’ll be back. Besides, I got some company to keep me in check anyway, right?” He asks the fillies next to him.
“You want to come to see them before we send them?” Mandalore asks.
Slender sighs and nods. “Okay, just give me a night before we leave.”
“No, because I had to deal with three mares yelling at me for what you pulled,” Mandalore says.
Slender snickers. “How much of your hearing did you lose?”
“None. I muted them but turned on the subtitles. Now go.” Mandalore says.
Slender shakes her head before looking at Spike. “See ya, Spikey.” She said, nuzzling him before getting up and heading out. “Oh, make sure you watch him for those breaks.” She called to the fillies.
“I kinda want to see these semi-sentient machines,” Spike says.
Mandalore smiled. “Then come with me.” He said, walking away with the rest of them following. “Don’t worry. We’re placing something else into the system that you may like soon enough.”
Spike looks up at him. “And what’s that?”
Mandalore smirks. “Personal command of something that needs to control and don’t worry, we’ll make the controls compatible for your end. Something you’re used to.” He said as they enter an elevator and head down. “What you’re about to see may change the battlefield when we need it.” He said before they went down to the cargo bay, and they all see large animal mechs with heavy guns on their backs or sides. “Say hello to our Zoids. A century ago, we unearthed them in a dig of a planet that had all the inhabitants died off.” Mandalore says.
“Whoa,” Spike said as the elevator stops, and they all start walking down the dock area for all the Zoids, which seemed to have slightly every time they look away from one, and the one not being watched moved slightly. “Are they…alive?”
“Yes, in a sense,” Mandalore says.
Scootaloo goes over to the wolf like one, and the Zoid looks down at her, almost trying to figure her out. “Cool, how smart are they?”
Mandalore nods to an operator for an explanation. “They possess some intelligence but mostly act like animals and stay away from the Geno Saurer. No one on board can control that thing, and we don’t need a hole in the hull.”
Spike raises an eyebrow. “And where is that one?”
“That one, the dark purple and red one.” The engineer says.
Spike sighs and walks over to it as it stares at him and lights up its eyes as he approached and stared up at it. “Huh, almost like a dragon. Arrogant, possibly stubborn too.” He said, making it growl at him. “Yet, proud and wants to live,” Spike said, raising an eyebrow as it stops growling and leans down a bit more. “Lays content, wants to do something when needed and only what it deems necessary. Right?” Spike asks, leaning forward.
The Geno Saurer growls and shoots its claw near Spike. Spike just stared hard and stood still at the Geno as the claw almost hit him as the fillies gasp and run to him before the claw suddenly pulls back as Spike stared hard. “You understand things, many things that sometimes others would try even to grasp a piece. That’s why you lead. You lead because you want others to learn, don’t you?”
The Geno Saurer growls again as it cocks the gun on its head. “Yes, you would fire. Just to end this useless tirade. But I’m not leaving until I get a clear answer.” Spike said as the fillies stand right behind him. “Why fight? Why do it at all, because someone is there controlling you or rather because you want to, want to make something different that help in what you know is a fight that can change even without you?”
“They can’t speak, and usually only their pilots can understand them.” The engineer says.
Spike chuckles a bit. “I don’t need it to speak.” He said as he sees the eyes glow a bit redder. “I just want to see.”
The Geno Saurer growls before shooting its claw again and aims for the one behind Spike a little more to the side than normal, and Spike quickly moves Scootaloo out of the way and pushes on the claw into the ground before stabbing his tail into the ground as the electricity arcs through it before it stops. “Don’t even think about touching them,” Spike said lowly before letting it retract the claw.
The Geno Saurer growls as it aims its head cannon and leans down almost to Spike and the fillies’ level. “Go ahead, but hurt them and you’re in trouble,” Spike said, making the fillies stand behind him completely.
Seconds passed, and then the Geno Saurer seems to laugh. “Come on, get in the transport. Blitzkrieg is waiting on you.” The engineer says, causing the Geno Saurer to seemingly huff and get in with the rest of the Zoids.
Spike eyes the Zoids as they get in, and the Geno Saurer looks to him with a toothy grin. “Knew it. It’s different than the rest,” Spike said after the door closed.
Apple Bloom looks to him. “You’re crazy.”
“I’m surprised he isn’t a stain on the wall.” The engineer says.
Spike sighs. “That thing was more reactive than the rest. The others were curious and just looked. That one was more understanding, wanting to just see how others are reacting instead of being a reactor.”
“And more of a warrior than the others, look at this.” The engineer says, showing him his pad. Spike takes a look and sees a lot of data. “This is the combat motivation of all the Zoids. As you see, all the Zoids combat motivation ranges from twenty to four. The Geno Saurer though is eighty.” The engineer says.
Spike raises an eyebrow before messing with his omnitool and holds it over the datapad before he gives it back to the engineer and spreads his arms outward, and actually shows the data in the air in front of him on many screens of data. “Huh. I can only guess who would be a match for that thing. Luckily, he’s my brother-in-law.” Spike said, grabbing the data screen out of mid-air and lets the fillies look at the others. “That thing must be like a new kid to him, well, grown-up teenage kid.”
“I had heard that Blitz considered him his third member of his team when he went on his own.” The engineer says.
Spike chuckles. “Yeah, that’s Blitz. Go on one mission, bring back ten things that would change anyone. I should know since he married Twilight.”
“Actually, he assigned it when he was forced to use it to defend a base and annihilated the enemy with its main gun.” The engineer says.
Spike looks over the weapons. “Huh, yeah, with his attitude on things and how he plans things to go, he would conquer anything. Just see the statements.” Spike said, grabbing another out of the air and comparing it by putting them side to side and making the similarities and differences highlighted.
“Ah…” The engineer says.
“He did that literally, didn’t he?” Spike asks. The engineer nods, and Spike sighs. “As expected. Is there anything he can’t…wait…”
“After conquering, he collected his money for his job and just left also the Geno Saurer was just too powerful the galactic powers nearly outlawed it.” The engineer says.
Spike smiled. “Yeah, that’s him too. He really hates parties, and can I get a video of some of that?”
“We will send the video to your room,” Mandalore says.
Spike nods before turning everything off. “So, final test tomorrow?”
“No, your final test date has yet to be decided. But it will be a space battle simulation.” Mandalore says.
Spike huffs. “And just who is my enemy?”
“We are thinking space pirates right now,” Mandalore says before walking away.
Spike raises an eyebrow. “Pirates, huh? This might be fun. Come on, girls.” He said, walking away and looking up the information on them as Slender enters the ship.
“So what do you think?” Blitz asks as he pets Lightning.
Lightning purrs a bit. “About what?” She asks, leaning into his petting.
“About the spy?” Blitz says, smiling at Lightning as she laid her head in his lap.
Lightning purs like a cat now. “Well…oh, that’s good. Maybe we should try Silver’s idea. We could only, geez, that’s nice, get them in the act at this point.”
“I agree with his idea, but how to do it with the other units. After all, we can’t even rule out their commanding officers.” Blitz says.
Lightning nuzzles his leg. “Yeah, we can’t, so let’s do it like normal and watch those who have access first, and if that doesn’t work and the same thing happens, then we check lower.”
“I thought that our unit acts alone, then we start going to the other two if we get nothing,” Blitz says before kissing the back of her ear.
Lightning keeps nuzzling him and twitches her ear onto his nose. “Yeah, whatever you want.”
“So what do you think our your newest step foal, Arcane?” Blitz asks, pulling up his picture.
Lightning smiled and looks at it while turning over onto her back. “Cute, and we have a long way to go. After all, you’re going to have more soon.”
“Next is Rainbow,” Blitz says.
Lightning giggles. “Wonder how she’s taking to not flying soon?” Blitz smiles and shows her pacing around very restlessly. Lightning laughs. “Oh, that’s good. Though the way she’s going, it may be helpful for the little one. Movement is good like Pinkie jumping is a good thing.”
“That might be you next as well,” Blitz says, smirking.
Lightning smiled. “As long as you’re there, I’m happy enough. After all, I got a suit to help me fly when needed if I have to.”
“I can still outfly all of you, though.” Blitz teases.
Lightning smirks and looks at him. “You are a unicorn, not a pegasus. You can’t fly us like normal, though.”
“Not under my own power, but I can still out fly you,” Blitz says.
Lightning raises an eyebrow and waves her hoof to make him get closer.
“Yes?” Blitz asks, smirking, and leans over.
“You have armor and just a horn.” She said before slapping him. “Think big boy.” She said, now putting a hoof on his chest and trial it down.
“You don’t know everything about me, love. Maybe one day you will see how I fly.” Blitz says, smirking.
Lightning smirks and finally reaches the bottom. “I’ll believe that when I get one in the air.”
“You might not have to wait long,” Blitz says in a sober voice, really getting her attention.
Lightning looks carefully at him. “Are you okay?”
“I think I know who is behind the distribution of weapons to the dogs,” Blitz says.
Lightning gets up a bit. “Who?”
“Space pirates,” Blitz says.
Lightning now sits on his lap. “Really, and what are you going to do?”
“I have called in a few favors. We can’t beat them with just my clan. We need a fleet.” Blitz says.
Lightning pushes him into the couch as she leans on him. “Really, Mandalore commanding that?”
“I have earned a lot of respect in the clans over the years, and I had to call in most of my favors for this,” Blitz says.
Lightning just held a small smile. “Yes, but who’s piloting? You are not since you are here.”
“The one who will be the admiral for the space battle has yet to be chosen to my knowledge. But I have had no contact from off-planet for quite a while so not to give away anything to the space pirates.” Blitz says.
Lightning smiled. “Really now, well then, are you going to tell the others, just in case we have to get out? Because I would imagine you would tell us to either take cover underground or get out on a ship to the nearest system with a military fleet nearby.”
“I have already made arrangements in case of such an emergency with my clan and Twilight’s changelings,” Blitz says.
Lightning tilts her head. “You made a deal with the changelings?”
Blitz smirks and puts on some sunglasses. “I’m the mother bucking king.”
“Give me those.” Lightning says, annoyed.
Blitz chuckles as he leans out of her reach. “Uh ah, you have to work for it.” He teases.
Lightning smirks as she knocks them off with her wing.
Blitz frowns. “Now that’s not fair.” He said, using his magic to put them out of her reach.
“Now who is being unf…someone is coming.” Lightning says when her ears perk up.
Lightning and Blitz quickly get into their armor and puts on their helmets when the door to their quarters opens. “Excuse me, but Is Knight Major Southern Cross here?” A young griffon in knight armor asks.
Blitz looks at him carefully. “Who wants to know?”
“Sir, I am Squire Whirlwind. I was assigned to you as my mentor.” The young griffon says, saluting.
“It seems they were more than rumors, Surge,” Blitz says.
Lightning huffs. “Which one?” She asks, eyeing the griffon carefully.
“The one about the king making me a noble,” Blitz says.
Lightning scoffs before turning back to the griffon. “And what are you planning to learn?”
“What the squire is supposed to learn from a knight Surge. We will continue playing later.” Blitz says.
Lightning huffs once. “Sure, just message me next time.” ‘If you really prep me soon, of course.’
‘I didn’t know about this, and you want to go all the way then?’ Blitz sends.
‘No, just prep. Nothing else. Besides, you got some schooling to do.’ She sends back.
“Whirlwind, stow your gear somewhere and rest up for a bit. You have had a long journey.” Blitz instructs.
Whirlwind nods and heads to his tent. Lightning sighs and turns back to Blitz. “I should go check things out. I’ll be back soon.”
“Scout out past our outlining watchtowers while you are at it,” Blitz says.
Lightning nods and goes over to him before looking around and then takes off his helmet before taking off hers. “I’ll see you later.” She said, kissing his cheek before putting her helmet back on and heading out.
Blitz chuckles as he puts his on and heads out. “I have the best family.” He said to himself as he sees Silver come out of his quarters in a messed-up uniform as he rubs his head. “Had fun?”
“She can’t keep her claws off of me.” Silver says.
“So did you know I just received a Squire?” Blitz asks.
Silver sighs. “Unfortunately. You okay with it?” He asks, looking at him and leaning on the rails of his ship while Blitz does the same. “Having to be a teacher to a recruit?”
“It’s fine, and since he just arrives, he isn’t a suspect,” Blitz says.
Silver nods. “Yeah, that makes sense. Still, the question of getting them. Now, what are you going to do in the meantime?”
“How about we try and raid one of their supply bases near us, which just our unit? If something happens, then we know the spy is in our unit. If not, we turn our gaze to the other two.” Blitz says.
Silver thinks for a few. “Yes, that would work, but you got anything for the other two? A roll around with some crazy orders that not even the real ones can follow? See who would get out first to tell them all?”
“We can’t watch all three at once. We have to do this unit by unit if we want to catch this spy,” Blitz says.
Silver groans. “That would be tough because at this point, we have around twelve units in the area, and it would devastate us when we have to go set up strings for each one. We need another plan, now have you got…oh shoot.”
“They only knew our plans to ambush, so that narrows it down to the three,” Blitz says.
Silver frowns. “Might want to shut up now.” He said before turning around and grabs the talon that was on his back. “Yes, Wind?” He asks the smirking griffon.
Wind giggles. “Trying to figure out where my bed warmer went. Now, would you come back? There’s still time before morning.”
“Ah, knight captain, I need to ask you and inform you of a few things. Think you can spare a few minutes?” Blitz asks.
Wind smiled. “Sure. When?”
“Now would be good,” Blitz says.
Wind sighs. “Silver, would you wait in our room for a bit?”
“Yes, ma’am.” Silver says, walking away.
Wind smirks as he walks back in, and she turns to Blitz with a frown. “Now, what is it?”
“Follow me. This is something that must remain private,” Blitz says, walking a bit away.
Wind nods and walks with him. “So what’s this about?” She asks after a while of walking to the edge.
“Well, all signs of the last part of the operation points to us having a spy in one of the three units,” Blitz says.
Wind raises an eyebrow. “So, do you have an idea?”
“No, we can’t rule out any even many in our own because it has grown so much lately. As such, we will be launching something soon with our unit alone to see if something happens.” Blitz says.
Wind sighs. “So you have nothing planned to take care of this?”
“We have to narrow it down before we can take action,” Blitz says.
Wind stops and turns to him. “And how far have you narrowed it down?”
“We haven’t had a chance to start yet. That is the true purpose behind the raid that we will do in three days. If nothing happens, we will gain more guns and ammo for them, and we will be able to take off our unit as where the spy is. If not, then we really have it narrowed down.” Blitz says.
Wind tilts her head. “Why tell me this personally? Usually, you would hold off on that until the time it comes. Just telling me the style and time of the attack, nothing else.”
“Because you are one of the few who are cleared from your time with us,” Blitz says.
Wind crosses her arms. “And by that, you mean my time, Silver, right?” She asks with a slight frown.
“No, I mean your time commanding the unit with us, and I will need your help,” Blitz says.
Wind sighs. “When?”
“Just keep a close eye on our unit and take note of every infraction on the regulations,” Blitz says.
Wind nods. “Anything else?”
“Yes, we have someone new to the unit. I have been assigned a Squire to teach. His name is Whirlwind.” Blitz says.
Wind raises an eyebrow. “You, a teacher?”
“Yes, so don’t give the kid too hard of a time as he is exempt as he just arrived this night,” Blitz says.
Wind sighs and holds a talon to her head. “Alright, just don’t show everything. After all, most are learned by experience.”
“He isn’t my first student,” Blitz says.
Wind huffs and heads back. “Of course he isn’t.”
“That is all I needed to discuss with you,” Blitz says.
Wind nods. “I’ll see you in the morning.” She said, getting back on the ship and heading inside. “Silver?” She asks with a slight growl.
“And that is the plan,” Blitz says to the ghosts’ officers.
They all nod. “Okay, so what about unexpected ears?” One asks.
“That is Whirlwind, my new Squier,” Blitz says.
They nod and walk off. After a while, Whirlwind finally comes out from around the corner. “Um…sorry, sir.”
“No need, you are right where you should be,” Blitz says, continuing to look at the map.
“Sir?” Whirlwind asks
“You are my Squier. You must watch and learn,” Blitz says.
Whirlwind just stares at him. “So what now? I mean, what do I do?”
“You will wait here with me and train. Now, which would you rather be, black or white?” Blitz asks, bringing out game pieces.
Whirlwind just stares. “Um, I thought we were training?”
“We are training the mind. After all, how can you lead without knowing how?” Blitz says.
Whirlwind tilts his head. “I guess that’s true.” He said, sitting down. “Black.”
“Then let’s begin,” Blitz says as he started to set his pieces up.
Soon after, Lightning came back and found them on their last few pieces. “Hey, who’s winning?”
“He has yet to penetrate my second line of defense. So how did the raid go?” Blitz asks.
Lightning shrugs as she sits down near them. “It went well. We got most of the things that were there. Weapons, like this.” She said, placing a metal rifle on the table. “They’re advancing. The armor is too. It’s more like dragon scales at this point.”
“Then we have hit an elite tribe. Tell Commander Silver and Knight captain the news.” Blitz says.
Lightning nods and gets up, and leaves. “Um…sir? What are these?” He asks, picking up the rifle.
Blitz quickly takes it from him and pulls the cocking mechanism, and takes the magazine out before taking out the bullet in the chamber and giving it to him. “It’s a rifle, more advance than the watchers have. Learning how to wield on will come later.”
“Yes, sir,” Whirlwind says, getting back to the game.
Blitz sighs as he sees him place one piece out of the way. “You’re done.” He said, getting up and taking the rifle away.
“But…” Whirlwind says.
“You left your right flank completely exposed. My pieces can easily rush in through it and take your king,” Blitz says.
Whirlwind looks to the pieces and moves Blitz’s pieces to his and sees that each move takes over all of his pieces and leaves his king wide open in the end. “Whoops.”
“You must now learn from this,” Blitz says.
Whirlwind sighs. “Yes, sir.”
“Next, meet me in the center of the camp in the training field we have set up. It is time for your lesson in combat.” Blitz says.
Whirlwind nods and gets up before heading there. “Yes, sir.”
After putting the rifle in a chest in his tent, Blitz grabs a sword and heads to the training ground. When he reaches there, he sees Whirlwind trying to find the right placement for his talon on the sword.
“Try a swing,” Blitz said, grabbing a sword from one of the ghosts giving him one.
Whirlwind tries to and actually sends it flying into a tree where a griffon moves his head out of the way. “Try a bit more inward.” The griffon said, trying to take it out.
“I see. I have to actually try,” Blitz says, putting his sword into its sheath and keeps holding the hilt.
Whirlwind looks a bit worried. “Um…dang it.” He said, trying to properly hold his sword.
“Mistake,” Blitz says, and the next thing Whirlwind knew, the wooden sword was against his throw.
“Crap,” Whirlwind said.
“Pay up.” A griffon said, and another grumble and gave him some coins. “Told you he wouldn’t survive one second.”
“I didn’t even see him move.” A ranger says.
“Again.” Blitz orders.
Whirlwind frowns a bit before knocking Blitz’s sword away and feels it on his neck. “Again,” Blitz said before they engaged in sparing with Blitz blocking or evading all of Whirlwind’s moves while holding the wooden sword in one hoof. “Geez, what else you got? I’m sure you read something, comics or something that gave you ideas for some moves.” Blitz asks after a while.
Whirlwind didn’t stop attacking and trying to hold him back. “I don’t really, ow, read.” He said when Blitz hits him over the head.
“Keep up your guard, don’t let your opponent distract you,” Blitz instructs.
Whirlwind seems to be getting madder before he uses a rope and sends it whipping toward Blitz, and he ducks under it. “What was that?” He asks, still blocking.
Whirlwind raises an eyebrow before pulling the other way, and Blitz jumps and dodges the box that headed past where he was, and Blitz landed a bit later. “Nice try. Good, but it needs work. Now that is enough, for now; get your bumps and bruises looked at.” Blitz says, tossing the wooden sword to one of the watching soldiers.
Whirlwind groans as he tries to move. “Ow.” He said to himself as some of the griffons chuckle at his trouble. “Try again next time, kid.” One said.
“You have the ability, but they send you to me to train and refine you,” Blitz says before walking away.
Whirlwind looks at him as he tries to keep heading to his tent.
Blitz sighs as he heads back into his room and hears a beep from his communicator. “Cross here.” He answered.
“Blitzy, are you going to keep doing that?” Twilight asks as Blazer looked at the package that just came in.
“Well, yes, as it is how I answer in the field,” Blitz says.
Twilight sighs and tries to keep her eyes open a little. “When are you going to get our kind of communicators instead of that old one?”
“When this one stops working properly. So has Arcane been tiring you out?” Blitz asks.
Twilight groans as some of the changelings behind her trying to keep Arcane happy with a toy. “Unfortunately, have you sent anything over from over there to Blazer?”
“I pulled a favor and had a friend in the nobility over here send a few toys, but mostly we are still stuck here on the Belmat Pains slugging it out with the dogs. It also seems we have a few elites amongst the enemy.” Blitz says.
Twilight nods as Blazer finally open the long box. “Did they send a very long package also?”
Blitz leans forward. “Long package?”
Twilight shows him what’s Blazer is opening. “That.” She said as Blazer moves the package filler away.
Blazer finally stops and takes out a long sword that looked like a katana-style curved blade with white wrappings and gold hilt. “Um…dad,” Blazer said, now reaching into the package and taking out another one with the same blade style but with black wrappings and a red hilt. “Where did you get these?”
Blitz just stares. “I didn’t have anything made for you. That I’m sure of.”
Twilight waves Blazer over and brings the swords over to her, and sits down with her. “For some reason, they look familiar.” He said, taking the black one and pulls the blade to find it not shiny or reflective, but all black. “That’s…new.” He said before taking the other one and finds it reflective like a regular sword.
“Letter?” Blitz asks.
Blazer gets up and looks through the box before finding an envelope. “Here. Huh, this is my uncle or rather my dad’s fighting buddy.” He said, opening it and finds a long letter. “Um…mom?” He asks, embarrassed.
Twilight giggles and takes it before looking it over. “It’s legal stuff. In accordance with…huh…these were your father’s swords, or rather the ones he had made for you. That was nice of him. There is also some stuff about assets and some accounts and businesses.”
“I will look into it later when I get back,” Blitz says.
Blazer picks up the swords again. “So…what do I do with these?”
“I will teach you how to wield them when I get back,” Blitz says.
Blazer tilts his head before taking a sword and leaves it inside before holding it like he has seen and frowns before turning it backward and bends it against his back while looking ready to swipe. “Better.” He said, smirking. “Do you have this way?”
Twilight sighs and looks back at Blitz. “Do you?” She asks as the changelings give Arcane back to her.
“The reverse grip. Far harder to fight with.” Blitz says.
Blazer sighs as he tries to move around with the sword against him. “Maybe, so it might be a good idea to teach me a few regular moves just in case.”
Blitz nods. “I’ll see to that once I’m back. You keep being good for your moms, okay?”
“Okay, dad,” Blazer says.
Blitz smirks. “And maybe I’ll throw in a few extra things I only know if you’re really good. Twi make sure you count if he’s bad.”
“Yeah, yeah, now say hi to your dad Arcane,” Twilight says, holding him up.
Arcane giggles and waves with both forelegs.
“Hey there, Arcane,” Blitz says, smiling.
Arcane coos at him.
“So tell me, Twi, has Celestia met our son yet?” Blitz asks.
Twilight shakes her head. “No, it’s probably because Luna is still here, and they are holding a grudge.”
“Celestia is becoming too power-hungry love at this rate. How long until we have to remove her to protect ourselves and our children?” Blitz asks seriously.
Twilight shrugs. “Maybe Luna can help. Maybe she needs to head back.”
“Love, is that Twilight, Celestia’s number one student talking, or is that Twilight, mother of Arcane, talking?” Blitz asks.
Twilight presses her lips together as she thinks about. “I…” She sighs. “She needs to head back. This grudge has gone on long enough. Sisters need to love each other very much, because…” She looks down at Arcane, smiling at her. “They’re family. And family always stick together.”
“And that means letting your sister torture your troops and servants?” Blitz asks, striking something deep in Twilight as she looks at her son.
“You really think she’s still Nightmare?” Twilight asks.
“Not her love, Celestia did that to the Shadowbolts, including Shadow herself,” Blitz says.
Twilight frowns. “So you hate her then?”
“Twi, if I hated her, she would be dead most likely,” Blitz says.
Twilight still frowned. “So what, what do you feel?”
“Anger and suspicion, and you are avoiding my question, are you Twilight, Celestia’s student or Twilight, mother of Arcane and queen of the changelings?” Blitz asks.
Twilight clicks her tongue. “I’m both. There will be a time I will leave her, but she will always be my teacher.”
“And if she tries anything against our son?” Blitz asks, fully serious.
Twilight held a thin line on her face. “She pays for it. No one harms my family. Not even my teacher.” She said, now hiding her face with her mane.
‘Twilight, I never got to say this before, but…congratulations.’ Chrysalis said.
“Then we are of the same mind. If she makes such a move, I will dethrone her if not kill her for it.” Blitz says.
Twilight tries to breathe before setting Arcane down. “Guys, get them out of here.” She said to the changelings, who quickly grabbed Arcane and Blazer and his swords before heading out. “Blitz, why do you want to kill them as a chance?”
“I don’t, but if she tries, I will not let her have a second attempt,” Blitz says, fully serious.
Twilight didn’t move. “Blitz…”
“Would you not do the same?” Blitz asks.
Twilight looks at him through her bangs. “I make sure they live and have a second chance to change. If not, then all bets are off.”
“That is why I said dethrone her first, but if she forces my hoof, I won’t hesitate, and if her vassal rebels or attempt the same, I will show them how one who conquered an entire planet fights,” Blitz says.
Twilight looks completely down again. “Blitz…”
“I love you all that much. I am willing to do anything for you,” Blitz says. His words were sincere in Twilight’s ear.
Blitz watches as he sees a tear fall down her face. “Blitz, I sometimes hate it.”
“I know, but that is what being a parent is all about, protecting and doing what is best for the children,” Blitz says.
Twilight sniffs. “Promise you’ll come back soon.”
“I will love, and we will be a family,” Blitz says.
Twilight smiled and finally looks at him with glazed-over eyes. “I love you.”
“I love you too, my teacher and my love,” Blitz says.
Twilight wipes her eyes. “Teacher? Still?” She chokes a little.
“When have you ever stopped teaching me magic?” Blitz asks jokingly.
Twilight smiled and giggled a bit. “Maybe our next spell will be one for us in bed.” She suggested.
“Didn’t we already have that lesson?” Blitz jokes.
Twilight grins. “Not this one. This one will be bigger.” She said with a sultry look.
“With or without the blindfold you love so much?” Blitz asks.
Twilight tries to hold her giggles. “How about with that suit too? I and the others are feeling frisky.”
“Alright, will do, love,” Blitz says.
Twilight sighs before looking at him normally. “Thanks for coming into my life.”
“No, thank you,” Blitz says, removing his helmet so she can see him smile.
Twilight sniffs a bit more and rubs her eyes. “I really want you back. Everyone here misses you. I miss you.”
“Same here, but duty calls,” Blitz says.
Twilight sniffs. “Please, if not for your wives, at least for you kids.”
“I’m trying, love. If we can win this, we might be able to lure out the one ruling all of the dogs. Also, ask your changelings to tell you about the contingent alpha minor.” Blitz says.
Twilight raises an eyebrow. “Alpha, what now?”
“Gotta go. Bye, love.” Blitz said before ending the call. He sighs and leans back in his chair. “Oh boy. I need music.” He said to himself before getting some foreign music in his ears. “Don’t know what it means, but the beat is always good.”
Lightning smiled as she walks in. “Hey there, sexy.”
“Hey, love. Twilight just called, and we discussed the future, including Celestia.” Blitz says soberly.
Lightning looked a little worried. “You okay?”
“We discussed have to either dethrone or kill Celestia if it comes to it,” Blitz says.
Lightning sighs. “One of these days, your plans will go out the window.”
“It’s not a plan, but a precaution,” Blitz says.
“You’re precautions suck.” Lightning said. “Safe, but suck when it comes to it.”
“Oh, you do complain about my plans. I lead to you and me in bed,” Blitz says, smirking.
Lightning just throws a pillow at him. “Shut up.”
“Ha,” Blitz says, smiling while hugging her.
Lightning smiled as she nuzzles him. “Love ya.”
“Same here. So got an opinion on the kid yet?” Blitz says, leading her to his bed.
Lightning raises an eyebrow. “What kid?”
“The squire,” Blitz says as she lays her head in his lap.
Lightning shrugs. “Eh, the kid needs work and the real thing.”
“And?” Blitz asks, starting to pet her.
Lightning purrs. “He does have potential.”
“And you my lightning storm?” Blitz asks.
Lightning looks at him. “Lightning storm?”
“Yes, because you leave a storm in your wake,” Blitz says as he continues to pet her.
Lightning giggles. “I do, don’t I? But what about me?”
“You, we can wait a while longer,” Blitz says as his other hoof pets her flank.
Lightning wiggles her flank a bit. “Yeah, we can. I don’t want to do it when there’s a possible battle coming up.”
“You say that, but your body says something different,” Blitz whispers into her ear.
Lightning hits his chest. “Cut that out. I really don’t want to.”
“I know, but you crave it. That is why I had you beat a few of the soldiers around when we started so they would know better than to try it with you.” Blitz whispers into her ear.
Lightning groans. “Please don’t make me.”
“I’m not,” Blitz says, adjusting himself so she can snuggle into him.
Lightning sighs in relief. “Good because I really don’t want to do it at a time like this. I want to do it when we’re on our own and ourselves, just us.” She said, nuzzling his chest.
“And Twilight says we have to,” Blitz whispers the rest into her ear.
Lightning frowns. “I don’t think so. My body, my choice.”
“Oh, you best take that up with the Queen of Changelings,” Blitz says jokingly.
Lightning smiled. “Yeah, right. She would take my side.”
“When she said that, is that what we have to do?” Blitz asks.
Lightning frowns. “You want to call her and find out?”
“No, I want to keep petting you,” Blitz says.
Lightning smirks. “Now then.” She said before kissing him. “You’ll get it soon, just not now.” She said, giving another kiss.
“I can wait, but can you?” Blitz asks, stroking her competitive nature.
Lightning hisses a bit. “Don’t test me. Besides, I don’t want to do it here. I want to do it at home. Where I know I belong.”
“Oh, shall we see if one of us doesn’t break under the desire?” Blitz says, smirking.
Lightning frowns. “Don’t do this.”
“What, not up for the challenge?” Blitz asks, smirking.
Lightning growls a bit and looks away. “Shut up.”
“Tell you what, whoever wins, gets to make one request from the loser within reason, and if neither of us gives in, we act like this never happened,” Blitz says.
Lightning smirks. “Deal. How do you lose, make this grow?” She asks, stroking a lower part of him.
“No, if one of us admits they can’t take it any longer and the use of seductive methods to do so is cheating, and you automatically lose unless both agree to it,” Blitz says before kissing her.
Lightning pushes him back. “Sorry, not happening.” She said, getting off of him and heading to the couch.
Blitz smirks. “Ah, what’s wrong, hate little old me?”
Lightning huffs and lays down on the couch. “No, just the stallion that dick is attached to.”
Blitz holds a hoof to his heart. “Oh, you wound me, Dusty.”
He just receives a pillow to the head. “Shut up.”
“Love you too,” Blitz says, happy that the silencing spell used to keep the planning secret was up.
Lightning huffs and lays her head down. “So, what do we got coming up next?”
“Well, now we try and narrow it down some more,” Blitz says, laying next to her as she wraps a wing around him.
Lightning sighs. “So what other plans to send out for our little spy?”
“I have an idea,” Blitz says, smirking.
