Chapter 54: Glass Cracked

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Blitz enters the bridge of the Darkline with Ahsoka right behind him to see a few improvements were made including a republic hologenerator in the back for briefings and planning.

Ahsoka smiles as she looks around. “Feels like my flagship and yours just got smashed together and decided to just work with what was left.”

“More like the republic wanted that added in so they have something to show and link to when discussing strategies.” Blitz says as he noticed Ridley was sleeping in his chair.

Ridley mumbles in his sleep as he snores. “I’ll…stop you with…my claws of justice.” He mumbles away as he waves his talons in the air.

Spike chuckles as he walks. “Sleep well you lazy lizard.”

“So I wonder if your master is back yet.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka groans. “Not happy with the decision of having that group in ours.”

“Well not my place. Mandalore assigned them and at least they are not out making terrorist strikes.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka sighs. “I think that’s why my master doesn’t like them. Future betrayal.”

“They won’t do anything like that till after Dooku is dead and his forces are shattered or be forever dishonored.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka rolls her eyes. “And this will be a long time for that.”

“When I mean is shatter. I mean the C.I.S. will no longer be in existence or so broken they are powerless.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka sighs. “So what do we get?”

“I will wait for vice admiral Jern’vaoni’koatta explain that.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka goes to sit down nearby. “So you left most of the planning to him?”

“No, I left studying the inventory and taking stock to him to familiarize him with what we have.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka raises an eyebrow. “So who’s really in charge here?”

“That is a mixed thing. We divided the force into a few areas. Ridley and your admiral Wullf Yularen are in command of the fleet. We have split them into halves. Admiral Yularen will command the three republic battleships and one of our destroyers and three frigates. While Ridley will command the rest of the fleet. From there, the command of the space forces follow the ranks, while the ground forces will be directly controlled by your master, you, me, and captain Rex. I also delegated watching over the new civilian recruits to the new vice admiral.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka smiles. “They are pretty good, aren’t they?”

“Who are you referring to?” Blitz asks.

Ahsoka looks at him. “The civilian troops.”

“They are fresh out of training.” Blitz says.

“Yup, a bunch of shinies.” Rex says nearby.

Ahsoka smirks. “That’s what you said about the rebels and look where they are now.”

“Speaking of which, Rex, I believe we should familiarize Ahsoka with our new lieutenant don’t you?” Blitz asks.

Ahsoka raises an eyebrow. “Lieutenant?”

Rex nods and nods his head to a person nearby. “Yep, Saw Gerra. Straight out of our training regimen.”

“Looks like Onderon has had some citizens enlist.” Ahsoka says.

“Yeah and didn’t need as much training because they were in the rebellion mostly.” Blitz adds.

“Explains how we got new non clone soldiers so fast.” Ahsoka says.

Blitz smiles. “Yep, pre-trained. Maybe we should start them out on militia training and move them into the military. Though that’s for small and developing planets.”

“That senate would have to approve that.” Anakin says walking in.

Blitz shrugs. “Suggestion at least.”

“I doubt the conservatives will allow that.” Ahsoka says.

Blitz grins. “Where’s my credits going in all this?” He imitates.

“Actually, I was thinking more Senator of Naboo, she would be against anything escalating the war.” Ahsoka says.

Blitz smiles. “Because it has gone on long enough. The first few years are always fruitful.”

“She actually is against anything to continue escalating the war.” Ahsoka says.

“Oh, then avoid being in the same room most of the time.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka chuckles. “I’ll try that. Though there will be politics around every corner, it’s not possible.”

“I thought you and her were friends.” Anakin says obviously unhappy at their joking.

“What, is she your wife or something?” Blitz jokes.

Anakin just stays quiet at that.

“Don’t be silly.” Ahsoka says covering for him.

Blitz shrugs. “Hey, he speaks so highly of her that she thinks that she is his sister.”

“Moving on. Are you finally going to tell us the target?” Anakin asks.

“Ahsoka, how long has it been since we got back?” Blitz asks.

“About fifteen minutes.” Ahsoka says.

“In five hours and thirty five minutes.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka smiles. “And so we got time to prepare for any eventuality.”

“Mostly let’s let Death Watch settle in and meet with our new recruits. After that, we go.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka just waves a hand around. “Yay. Wait, that reminds me, isn’t one of your wives pregnant still?”

“If you want to get technical, eight are currently.” Blitz says

“Teleportation time!” Twilight yells running to Fluttershy.

“Maybe seven now.” Blitz said to himself.

“Why do you say that?” Ahsoka asks.

“Call it a premonition.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka raises an eyebrow. “I see. Want to make a call?”

“Give it an hour.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka shrugs and just relaxes. “So what should we do in the meantime?”

“I have to read over reports. Will be in my office.” Blitz says getting up and leaving.

Ahsoka smiles as she watches him leave. “Don’t let me find you buried under papers.”

“Oh Anakin, I remember I have something for you in my office.” Blitz says.

Anakin looks at him. “What is it?”

“Look and see.” Blitz says smirking under his helmet.

Anakin shakes his head as he follows and leaves Ahsoka smirking. “Don’t kill each other.”

Blitz stands slightly to the side of the door as Anakin opens it.

Anakin yells out as he is swept away by a sea of paper and down the hall. “What the heck?!” They heard him call as they watched him being taken away.

Blitz laughed as he was safely out of the splash zone.

Ahsoka snickers as she still sees the paper water still coming out of the office. “How long have you been gone?”

“Those aren’t reports, just a trap I set up for anyone sneaking into my office.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka chuckles. “Paper water?”

“No, just a ton of papers of complaints from the populace.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka picks up one nearby. “What’s the most popular?”

“The bill to your master for property damage.” Blitz says.

“You gotta be kidding me!” They heard Anakin yell obviously reading a few by now.

Ahsoka shakes her head. “You are going to empty his account.”

“Actually, they are from when he was just a padawan.” Blitz chuckles.

Ahsoka stares at him before snarking. “Really, he was that bad?”

“Check them, they allow for damages to speeders he has commandeered.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka mumbles as she looks over the long rap sheet. “Three hundred speeders?!” She yells.

“Catching a bad guy Snips!” They heard Anakin call from down the hall.

“How many per bad guy?” Blitz calls.

There was silence for a bit. “Fifty.” He finally said.

“What do you have to say, Commander Ahsoka?” Blitz asks.

“You suck!” Ahsoka calls before throwing the paper away. “I thought you were a pilot?”

“Yes, but his driving sucks.” Blitz says.

“Hey!”

“You damaged fifty speeders on average per chase.” Blitz says.

“Shut up!”

“Remind me not to lend him my speeder bike.” Blitz says to Ahsoka.

Ahsoka chuckles. “I’ll try not to. I kinda like that thing. Hey, where’s Terran?” She asks looking around.

“Um…” Blitz mumbles.

Diamond was smiling as she stood by three floating drones and a big alien dog who was growling at her mother who was trying very hard to be a rock. “Not yet boy.” She said, patting his head.

Terran only barks.

“Entertaining the foals back on the planet. I knew this operation would have little close quarters so I left him back so he wouldn’t be bored.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka raises an eyebrow. “You sure it’s a good idea with his dangerous style?”

“He won’t hurt them. He views them as his pack and will hunt for them.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka raises a finger. “I meant the ones that might hurt the kids.”

“Oh, that reminds me. Sending a memo. Clean up the bones.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka hisses to herself. “I think you should warn your family.”

“Oh, they know all about him.” Blitz says before showing her an image of the foals all over Terran.

Ahsoka chuckles as she sees Terran being dog piled by the many foals of town. “Wow. They love him. Aren’t those two like bullies?” She asks pointing to two fillies.

“Which ones?” Blitz asks looking.

Ahsoka moves up and points to a pink and grey filly. “These two. Kept hearing it from Spike’s friends.”

“Yeah, that is about a recent change.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka hums. “Strange how time flies. You could be still out here and not down there helping them or even meeting them and they would still not know about the war over their heads.”

“That is life for ya.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka nods. “I’m going to go catch some food before we really start.” She said getting up and leaving.

“Ok, will head in there.” Blitz says pointing to a door down the hall.

Ahsoka smiles as she enters and finds the mess. “Thanks.” She calls out as Blitz relaxes in his seat before using the force to push out the rest of the papers.

“Now let us see.” Blitz says activating his private terminal.

He stares at the calling screen for the past ten minutes in a dead stare now, but then it gets answered. “Blitz?” Twilight answered.

Blitz snorts awake. “The monkey in the mirror room with a wrench.” He said quickly and held up a hoof.

“What?” Twilight asks.

Blitz shakes his head a bit. “Sorry. How’s it going over there?”

“Well Fluttershy went into labor.” Twilight says.

Blitz stares at her. “I knew it!” He cheers before smiling at her. “So how’s the foal and what does he or she look like?”

“She is ok and it’s a colt.” Twilight says.

“Ok and your egg?” Blitz asks.

Twilight smiles and moves to camera to where he can see the egg in her lap. “Almost time. Arcane is going to have another brother or sister. But having another alicorn is rare so he or she could be just a regular unicorn.”

“Or a pegasus or an earth pony.” Blitz says.

Twilight nods. “There’s that. Got a name yet?”

“Thinking.” Blitz says.

Twilight smiles as she rubs the egg. “Do you still like me even with this?” She asks looking at the egg.

“Yes, now what about my new colt? Give me details.” Blitz says.

Twilight smiles and turns the camera to see Fluttershy sleeping on a bed while curled around a little colt sleeping as well and nuzzling her sometimes. “Luckily he didn’t end up inheriting Fluttershy’s Flutterbat side. So it looks like it was magical and only one way. I don’t know what the mind is like. He just nodded off as soon as he was in his mother’s forelegs.”

“Oh, he is yellow with my mane.” Blitz says.

Twilight nods. “Yeah, but because he fell asleep, I don’t know how he is like so we will wait until they are both rested up.”

“Ok, I’ll be thinking up names till then.” Blitz says.

Twilight playfully pokes the screen. “You better or I’m calling in the middle of a fight.”

“Also do not lend any of our vehicles to Anakin Skywalker.” Blitz adds.

Twilight giggles. “I’ll take your word for it.”

“Ok, now Arcane, you checking on your sibling?” Blitz asks.

Twilight smiles as she looks over to the doorway to see him peeking around it. “Yes daddy.” He calls.

“Come here my foal.” Twilight says.

Arcane steps around from the doorway and walks over before standing by her. “Hi dad.” He said waving shyly.

“Hey son.” Blitz says as Arcane looks at the egg.

Arcane leans forward and pokes the egg with his nose. “How is it?”

“Fine, your younger sibling will hatch soon.” Twilight says.

Arcane smiles as he pokes the egg with his nose again. “Isn’t that cute? Already in protective brother mode.” Terra said appearing behind Twilight and looking over her shoulder at him.

“Don’t forget your new brother over there with Fluttershy.” Blitz says.

Arcane looks over and quietly walks over and stares closely at the little colt. “Wow.” He whispered.

“You have to watch over him, got it son?” Blitz asks.

Arcane looks over and nods before going back to watching the colt.

“I can’t stay much longer Twi. Also, can you connect me to Luna and Celestia?” Blitz asks.

Twilight nods and starts trying things in. “Okay, we’ll call you if something important comes up.” She said before her line ended and another began ringing.

Blitz waited, tapping his hoof expectantly.

Soon the line picks up and he can see Celestia trying to type away on her omnitool. “How do you work this thing? Newfangled technology.”

“Celly, you can stop. You answered.” Blitz says.

Celestia stops and blinks to the screen. “Oh…okay then.” She said slowly, putting her hoof down. “You…called for me?”

“Yes, one moment.” Blitz says before the other end answered.

“Yes! Take that sucker!” They hear Luna yell and see her playing around on a game. “Hi there Blitzkrieg Read. To what do I owe this call?” She asks as she didn’t take her eyes off the screen.

“Is that the way you talk to your grandfather, young lady?” Blitz asks.

Luna giggles and looks over after she pauses the game. “Hi grandpa. How’s it going?”

“I wanted to check on you two.” Blitz says.

They smile at that. “It has been a while grandpa. So how’s it going?” Luna asks.

“About to ship out on another battlefront in a few hours.” Blitz says.

Celestia looks a little heartbroken. “Oh, I see. Well, be safe.”

Luna smiles gently. “I just hope that when you can have a break, you can play a strategy game with me and we’ll see who’s the better mastermind. I always wonder how smart my grandfather is.”

“Your right flank is exposed in the game. Celly and Lulu, I got an order for you. Visit your family soon.” Blitz says.

They both smile. “Sure. Maybe even letting us hold the foals too.” Celestia thought to herself.

“I’m sure they will let you. Also, we have had a new one born and one egg laid by Twilight.” Blitz says.

Celestia smiles. “How long will you be gone?”

“Unknown, unlike last time, we don’t aim to conquer, but to deprive them of resources and make them commit forces right into a trap.” Blitz says.

Luna grins. “Ah, the take and ploy maneuver.”

“Yes, the planet is guarded and it is in the rear of their territory, but it contains droid factories that keep pressing out more and more droids destroying the factories will cut their production by a bit and it is a mining world.” Blitz says before displaying a picture of the volcanic planet.

Luna hums. “You are not thinking of reprogramming them and using them as cannon fodder? I’m sure aunt Minerva can come up with something.”

“Minerva is too busy. She has a colt of her own. Most likely the first of his kind, a techno organic creature.” Blitz says.

Luna claps her hooves happily. “Oh, great news. She must be so happy. How old is he now?”

“Not even half a year.” Blitz says.

Celestia smiles gently. “We have missed a lot.”

“Yes, now there are three watching you from the peep holes behind you Celly.” Blitz says.

Celestia smiles all the while. “And can you tell who?”

“Brown, green, and megaline pairs of eyes.” Blitz says.

Celestia looks behind her and the eyes disappear from the paintings. “Oh those sneakers.” She said before looking back at him. “I’ll deal with them soon.”

“Ok, I have to go soon. Got to inspect the troops before shipping out. Love you two.” Blitz says.

They both wave at him. “Bye grandpa.” They said before Luna’s line was cut.

“It’s the purple button granddaughter.” Blitz says.

Celestia frowns as she keeps pressing at the button. “Why isn’t it working?” She asks furiously, pressing the button.

“The other one.” Blitz said, smirking.

Celestia looks over to the other button on the other end of the keyboard. “Oh.” She said before pressing it and the line was cut.

“Oh Celly, hopeless with technology.” Blitz says. Blitz sighs as he stares at the screen before getting up. “Now I just need to think of what to do for now.”

Hours later, Blitz was standing in front of the display map with the other high ranking members of the fleet. “Alright, I will now divulge the location of the target for operation Frozen Storm.” Blitz says.

Ridley huffs. “We’re waiting.”

“The target is Mustafar.” Blitz says stunning the entire table.

“Excuse me?” Ridley asks, frowning.

“You heard me. Mustafar, where I have it on good authority that it not only is a key mining planet, but also a droid manufacturing one.” Blitz says.

Ridley snarls quietly while the others look apprehensive. “Well what’s the plan?” The admiral asks.

“We hit them hard right off the bat. Although guarded, they don’t expect a full invasion force. After that, we send teams to disable the shield generators for each facility and let the planet do the rest while we set up a defensive fortification and wait for the response force to show up. They like to play attrition, well this is mandalorian style attrition warfare.” Blitz says.

The two Death Watch members seem to smirk at that. “Ok, how are we going to prepare the defences?” Anakin asks.

“Easy, the silencer on the Darkline isn’t the only lost technology I have. I also have the blueprints for a weapon for frigates designed to pick up and attack any ship coming towards them from hyperspace.” Blitz says.

They all stare at him. “And how did you get that?” Anakin asks.

“That is a mandalorian secret, but regardless, four of our frigates have had these weapons installed on them, but as they use them they can’t move and are vulnerable.” Blitz says.

Anakin frowns. “So how do you expect them to survive when attacking with so few ships?”

“No, that is why our formation will be centered around protecting these four frigates until all the enemy exit hyperspace where the Darkline will be there waiting with the Silencer fully charged.” Blitz says.

“I see, so using their sensors and weaponry, we will be able to predict where they will exit hyperspace and aim the main weapon there.” The chiss at the table says.

Ridley blinks for a moment. “Oh, one of these guys is here. Pleasure to meet you. Big fan of your work.” He said holding out a talon.

“Ridley, have you been neglecting reading the reports again?” Blitz asks.

Ridley looks at him. “I slept the whole time. My timer must be off.” He said to himself looking to his data screen on his arm and messing with it.

“It is as vice-admiral Jern’vaoni’koatta says. We draw them into a net and destroy them as they come. Destroying both a production plant and dealing as much damage as we can inflict before jumping away.” Blitz says.

Anakin sighs. “When do we begin?”

“Five minutes. As of now, we go silent. No transmission besides to each other.” Blitz says.

They all nod before walking off to their posts as Blitz sighs and looks to the plans. “Okay, let’s hope this works. Who knows, this may become the testing fleet soon.” He mused to himself as he went to go get ready.

After a few moments, Blitz faced vice admiral Jern’vaoni’koatta. “So tell me the status of the new non clone soldier.” Blitz says.

“Going good. Just need them to learn the ins and outs of their new posts in the war. The mind however will soon be a different story. They are in this for something different than the usual clones.” Jern’vaoni’koatta said.

“The need to protect their home, their republic.” Blitz says.

Jern raises an eyebrow. “But whose side will they be going for when it provides better protection for their family?”

“The Separatists have all but lost the populace’s support once news of them firebombing settlements when they knew they had lost a planet.” Blitz says.

Jern shrugs. “You know the stubborn ones.”

“Also after getting an alliance with the citadel alliance, the separatists are being pressed on multiple fronts with fresh troops coming to fight their droids.” Blitz says.

Jern sighs. “Strange. The republic uses clones and the alliance uses real people and only semi uses robots. Who’s winning better again?”

“We have quality and they have quantity. But now this side of the war’s numbers have swollen and are now in a position to shatter them in the coming months.” Blitz says.

Jern smiles. “That means some of the smarter commanders of the CID will be getting us in our own ways.”

“That is why we mustn’t get overconfident.” Blitz says.

Jern nods. “Yes, you better get to your spot.”

“I already am.” Blitz says leaving.

Jern smirks as he watches him. “Watch that boy of yours. I’m afraid he doesn’t need to go to school in his life.”

“Don’t underestimate Spike. He is far better than you realize.” Blitz says.

Jern raises an eyebrow. “Who said I was talking about the little tyke?” He asks before walking away.

“T-minus ten.” The intercom says.

Blitz looks back at where Jern went before heading to his area. “Strange as always.” He said to himself.

“Another boring day.” The admiral in charge of the Mustafar defence fleet says sitting in his chair.

“Hey, look what I found.” He hears and looks to see a droid holding a strange box with many tiles on top. “I think it’s a puzzle. How does this work?” It asks, messing with it.

“And my only company is them.” The admiral mutters to himself massaging his temples as more droids tied to solve the puzzle. “How much computing power do you need for that thing?!”

“Enough to see the radar detecting a disturbance on the outer perimeter.” A droid said as it messes with the box.

“…what?” The admiral asks before several ships jumped out of hyperspace and opened fire.

“Forget the puzzle!” A droid yelled as it threw the box into the air and went to grab a blaster and moves to the consoles.

“Don’t blast the consoles you moron!” Another droid yells trying to grab the blaster from him.

The admiral just rubs his temples as the blaster goes off and destroys a few consoles. “I got stuck with new droids that don’t even know trigger discipline. If there is a god out there, please make this stop.” He mumbled to himself before seeing a bomber squadron coming in hot.

The admiral just sighs and walks off while the droids were bumbling around. “I wonder if the republic is accepting prisoners still.” The admiral says before ejecting in an escape pod.

“Sir, the fleet is in complete disarray and out of formation. We caught them completely unaware and are mopping them up.” One of Ridley’s original soldier reports.

Blitz scratches his head. “Huh, expected some resistance. This was too easy.” He mused to himself.

“We have detected an escape pod.” The former pirate says.

“Bring it on board.” Blitz says immediately.

Ridley was confused as well. “Yes, too easy. A five year old, heck, a no year old can take care of this assault and maybe doesn’t even have to do anything.”

“So my second bit of information was correct.” Blitz says smirking.

Ridley frowns. “That just means they had an idiot running this sector.”

“No, they sent mostly the defective models, but weren’t bad enough to just trash, but to man the ships.” Blitz says causing Ridley to roar in laughter.

Spike rolls his eyes. “And that’s the reason I up the difficulty. I can literally leave a game AI to run this part of the plan.”

“Do not, we have yet to jam their transmissions.” Blitz says.

Spike chuckles. “Yeah, also a game can do too.” He said to himself before holding an arm out and a digital dragon goes over his arm onto the console nearby and starts to work on it. “Here you go.”

“Spike, at your station. I want you to counter every move in case of a miracle from them.” Blitz says.

Spike nods and heads down to the SRBR. “You got it.”

Blitz watches as the vulture droids finally are starting to launch as Anakin and Ahsoka lead the starfighters in the dogfight as the bombers and ship move into position and start firing in groups of two each with their own target for concentrated fire.

“Time until possible reinforcement?” Blitz asks as he keeps his eyes on the fight.

“They managed to send a transmission before we could jam them. We are unsure if it made it through.” A communications officer says.

“Presume it did and after dispatching the last ship and securing the pod, assume defensive formation and start prepping the teams to go down there and take out the factories and mining.” Blitz orders as another ship starts to go down before exploding in a flash of brilliant light.

The fight wore on as many vultures were taken out and only a few starships were gone as everyone started to prep for the incoming ships and drops down to the planet.

“Watch the bend, it always acts like a black hole if you want to use regular fire.” Blitz warns as he stands inside a dropship with others coming in.

Spike nods. “Got it, just make sure you get your part done. I would rather get this over with as quickly as I can.” He said as Ahsoka and Anakin stayed behind with him and Ridley for this part.

“Don’t worry about us. This will be quick. You ready for this lieutenant Saw?” Blitz asks.

Saw chuckles. “Been awhile since I got my feet wet. It would feel good to stretch these legs in some way.”

Blitz chuckles. “I’ll take that as a yes.” He said as the dropship took off. “Alright, listen up. This is our target.” Blitz says bringing up a 3D map of a factory. “The plan is to infiltrate here and make our way to the shield generator and plant remote explosives. I repeat, we are not there to capture it.” Blitz says.

They all nod as they enter the atmosphere. “How much resistance?” Saw asks.

“This factory is producing droids as we speak so an infinite number of reinforcements so we are just taking out the shields and letting the planet do the rest.” Blitz instructs.

Saw looks down out a small window. “Oh, this will be a hot mission. Touchdown where?”

“The hanger. Squads one and two will hold the position while squads three through five will head for the generator and plant the explosives. Rex?” Blitz says, looking to the trooper.

Rex nods. “Sir.”

“I want you in command of the first and second squads as you will be what determines if we make it out or not.” Blitz says.

Rex nods. “Yes sir. Any hold backs?”

“The transport must be able to get us off world is all. Saw, you and the rest are with me for the generator.” Blitz says.

Saw nods. “You got it.”

Blitz looks through the small window. “Now let’s get this done.” He said, taking out his blaster.

All four high commanders watched the screen carefully as they watched the targeting system from one of the ships. “Where are you?” Spike asks himself.

“All ships in formation, ready to turn in a moment’s notice.” A communication officer says.

Spike smiles. “Good. Still, where the heck are they? The message should have sent them close to us by now.”

Ridley shrugs. “Maybe they either don’t believe it or are late.”

Spike sighs. “I wish we had more info on the ones that are possibly coming in.”

“Like this?” A datapad was shoved in his face and he looked to see the three fillies with the other two having their own. “Seems they are just transport ships coming in to have the droids repaired. Just minor battle formations.” Scootaloo said as the others show information on the other ships.

“And they are just a few minutes away by hyperspace and we need a minute for the weapon to work and see them.” Slender said coming up behind them with a whole host of data pads on her tendrils.

Ahsoka and Anakin watch Slender as Spike smiles. “Good. Now we have a range to work with.” He said taking a few and looking at them before looking at the screen again with all four targeting systems on the screen. “Still nothing. Yeah, according to this, they would be here by now.” He said, looking at a datapad.

Slender shrugs. “Maybe they thought it was a fake message or an error.”

Spike groans. “Blitz is going to kill me if we don’t have anything to show for this.”

“We got incoming from hyperspace!” An officer calls.

They all look up and see the screens blank still. “Where?” Ridley asks squinting at them.

“It’s…did we stop thinking in three dimensions again?” The officer asks.

Spike facepalms. “Dang it.” He said before he quickly switched to normal view and they saw four ships come in with two on top and two on bottom pointed straight at them. “Open fire and get them away from us!” Spike orders and everyone hangs onto something as the ship jerks in one direction and starts pulling away while lasers were being fired in all directions.

Slender groans. “I can’t believe we forgot about that part of space.”

Spike frowns. “Rookie mistake at that too. Even I missed it…considering that everyone in the republic and separatist use a two dimensional plane.” He thought to himself before turning back to the fight. “Deploy all drones!”

They all see the drones of all the ships being released before seeing projectiles coming their way. “Incoming, incoming! Sir! They are coming from all directions!” An officer spouted before hearing clunks throughout the ship and looked to the sealed doors.

“The droids coming in were mostly slated for repair…right?” Spike asks keeping an eye on the door while the other is in the fight.

The three fillies could only nod slowly.

Spike frowns. “Seal the room and get whatever guards and troops we have to get rid of those things.” He calls out before they see red instead of green lights on the door.

Ahsoka sighs as she takes out her lightsabers. “Maybe we should try the same trick on our own time. Save us a lot of trouble.” She said facing one door and going slowly to it.

“Shields Snips. Shields.” Anakin said going to the other while having his own saber out.

Everyone in the room tried to do their work while keeping their eyes on the doors as they hear laser fire and explosions from the halls getting louder. “Knew I should have gotten better hallways and doors.” Spike cursed himself before they hear beeping from one.

“Dang it!” Ahsoka yells and dives away before the door explodes and she starts to deflect the blaster fire coming in as some of the guards in the room came to her aid while Anakin came in soon after to help.

“Get below deck!” Spike yells to the girls to which they look at him in shock, but soon complied and went to a hatch in the middle of the walkway and was prepared to jump down.

“Grenade!” Someone yelled.

Everyone quickly looked up and saw a thermal detonator thrown their way with its light beeping. The three fillies became wide eyed at the sight as Sweetie Belle threw up what little magical knowledge she had for a shield and Apple Bloom and Scootaloo back her up by holding her up as the detonator exploded and sent everyone flying back to the end of the walkway.

Ahsoka cuts off a commando droid’s head that had one arm and looks to see mostly everyone had hit the bars surrounding the end and didn’t fall off the platform.

Spike groans as he opens his eyes before his vision slowly cleared and was able to make out some blurs and see Ridley tangled in loose wire while Slender was working with her tendrils on getting them free from the bar barrier. He then sees Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo lying in a pile together and knocked out or maybe…

Spike held his breath and wavered what he had left in him before trying to reach for them and stops and growls as he turned to the droids.

Ridley groans and feels the wires around him and starts cutting himself free before stopping at the sight of Spike walking slowly down the walkway to the fight as he slowly grows in height and gains more muscle mass. His eyes widen as his claws grew bigger and sharper while his little clothes stretch to keep his form before they were shredded with Spike’s now sharp spines and long tail dragging behind him and sometimes smack the ground, making dents.

Slender groans and looks up and blanched at the sight of Spike past a teenage dragon height and mass and still growing. And if her knowledge of dragon lives are correct, then Spike is growing for something important. She looks around, stops at the sight of the three fillies unconscious in a pile and turns back to Spike.

“They’re fucked.” She said simply.

Anakin slices off another droid’s head and slices away at a battle droid and takes it out before everything seems to stop and he feels and hears stomping and metal crunching under something. He slowly turns and goes wide eyed at the sight of a giant sharp looking creature with smoke coming out of its mouth and growling angrily at the group. He looks and leans over to see the three girls knocked out and slowly inched his way out and grabs a guard’s sleeve as well to get him moving.

Spike growls heavily at the group of droids as Ahsoka and the rest of the guards got out slowly without alerting the droids as they stared at Spike. He slowly leans down to their height as he finished growing to almost a height where he had a fourth of the room’s height left. He starts growling louder and showing teeth while saliva fell from his lips as the droids prepared to fire and Spike opened his mouth to…

ROOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRR

The roar shook the whole entire ship as Spike kept roaring and everyone started to hold their ears closed before seeing light come out of Spike’s mouth and soon an orange flame spewed out of mouth and cooked the wobbling droids before some of the advanced ones got back up before it seems Spike took another quick breath and his flame changed to blue and started to cook the battle droids while some commandos still had some fight left in them and lifted their useless blaster and Spike took another quick breath and his flame changed to a white color and started to cook everything, including the room walls, doors, and the floor itself.

After ten seconds, Spike closed his mouth and looked to see all the droids melted and the walls, doors, and the floor along with it before huffing a puff of smoke and standing up again before walking back down the walkway. “Get those three to the infirmary. If they are injured even further, I will personally roast them.” Spike’s deep rumbling voice vibrating throughout the room.

Slender gulps before gathering the three fillies in her tendrils and carries them away while some guards follow without question to not anger the now fully grown Spike.

Ridley had his jaw open the entire time as he stared at the large dragon that used to be the hatching called Spike. “Give me direct control!” Spike orders and looks to Ridley. “And you better go with them and protect those three, because if you don’t, I will throw you into an airlock and blast you into space and hit you with every single weaponry in this fleet.” Spike threatens and huffs some smoke in his face before quickly swiping his claw across the wires and gets him free before turning back to the screens.

Ridley stared at him a bit longer before running off where everyone else went and the Jedi knights followed behind him to not feel Spike’s wrath. “S…si…sir? Which ones?” An officer asks, afraid to turn around.

Spike growls lowly. “Everything.” He hissed.

The officer gulps before going into the code and releasing the locks and then sends everything everyone has to him to which he still growls in a low tone. “Everything.” He growls.

The officer gulps again. “Sir, that’s…everything we have.” The officer said shakily.

Another officer taps her shoulder. “The republic.” He whispers to her.

The female officer goes a little wide eyed and chooses not to defy the killer dragon and opens the command system and gives it to Spike before just five seconds later does the republic ships fall into formation.

Spike huffs one last time. “Kill them!” He yells and actually shatters an officer’s screen glass with that yell as all armaments opened fire on the ships as the silencer was powering up.

They all watched in horror as Spike literally directed everything with only himself and his talons and decimated everything in sight and even the destroyed parts of the ships left behind as they plow through everything to leave nothing behind but plates of metal.

The communication officer hears some beeping and sees it’s her console and multiple calls coming in to possibly ask why they lost control before dismissing them and looks back to their commander lost in a rage.

Spike’s growls turn into roars again and sees the silencer charged and fires it while launching everything at once at the final ship and completely overdoes it. He pants deeply as the power goes out and the emergency systems come on before slowly getting back on all fours and starts to walk away to the infirmary.

Everyone carefully looks to where he left before getting the screen back on and sees that only a single piece of metal plating was floating in the view.

“We’re done here pilot. Get us out of here.” Blitz says as everyone got in the transport.

The pilot only nods and takes off as the door closes. “Now?” Saw asks holding up the detonator.

“Wait till we are clear…now.” Blitz says after getting some distance.

Saw smiles and presses the button before feeling the force of the blast. “Okay, now it’s a small waiting game.”

Blitz looks out as he sees the factory itself sinking into the magma.

Rex sighs. “Hard to believe they would be this cheap. It’s more expensive to make droids on this planet since there are barely any good materials to work with.”

“Not necessarily. They can refine the material on this planet to make what they need.” Blitz says.

Saw hums. “If they just make droids, how long until they put the economy under?”

“They already deregulated their banks I believe. So their debt is incredible.” Blitz says.

Saw raises an eyebrow. “Strange they are able to keep going.”

“Dooku doesn’t care about the debt.” Blitz says.

Saw thinks on that. “Is it Dooku? One man isn’t enough sometimes.”

Blitz says nothing as he wasn’t the only one finding it odd.

Rex huffs. “As long as they are stretched thin the most, we have that advantage.”

“Get everyone back in their positions. This won’t be the last of it.” Blitz orders getting off the ship and steps into the hangar before stopping. “What the heck?” He asks seeing the spike drop pods and blaster shots on the walls.

He walks around before ending up in a hall where it looks like some of the metal was melted away and steps into the SRBR to find only the officers there. “Where are the commanders?” Blitz asks looking around the messed up room.

The lead officer looks at him. “Infirmary. Some of the girls got hurt.” She said.

“Fine, I will take over.” Blitz says.

Everyone looks at him before looking at the single piece of metal floating around. “Against that thing? With almost the whole fleet fearing what the commander would say to them?” Another asks.

“Did I stutter?!” Blitz yells snapping them out of their stupper.

Everyone stumbles with their work before going back to their regular work. “Yes sir.” They all said.

Blitz shakes his head at them before looking to where the infirmary is and starts to walk to it. “Spike, what have you done?” He asks himself and ends up in the hallway and sees both Anakin and Ahsoka guarding in the door as Ridley takes up the other end of the hall. “Someone care to explain?” He asks, walking up to them.

Ahsoka looks at him. “Spike went off the deep end. And all it took were those three fillies getting hurt.” She said as Blitz can see Spike, the size between an adult and a teenage dragon, and Slender watching the three fillies in bed.

“I’ll handle this.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka nods and let’s him inside, to which only Slender looks over. “Ah, you made it back. How did it go?” She asks.

“Spike, we need to talk alone.” Blitz says.

Spike didn’t look at him as Slender looked between them before she walked out and locked the door behind her.

“Spike, what happened?” Blitz asks.

Spike kept watching over the girls before sighing. “I…I don’t know. I just…burned it all and…left nothing.” He tries to say.

“I’m sending you and them back.” Blitz says.

Spike looks sharply at him and glares. “What?” He growls.

“If you can’t control your emotions, then you can’t do your job and those three are injured.” Blitz says uneffected.

Spike huffs smoke at him as they keep staring at each other before Spike huffs again and looks away. “I can do my damn job.” He grumbles.

“Then why aren’t you?” Blitz asks.

Spike growls to himself. “I just…I didn’t want to make things worse than it already was.” He said before looking to the three again. “I was hoping that…seeing them would calm me down, but…look at me. I’m supposed to be a little tyke than this.”

“Spike, go back home and work this out. This is not the place to work it out.” Blitz says.

Spike didn’t say anything as he kept watched over the three. “Until they wake up.”

“Take them to your ship and take them home.” Blitz says.

Spike grimaces. “Okay.” He said finally.

Blitz turns around and walks out.

Slender looks up as she hears the door open and sees Blitz walking out. “Well?”

Blitz sighs. “I didn’t want to do it, but he and those three have to go home. And he needs to figure this out himself now. So no Slender, you can’t go.”

Slender didn’t say anything before he started to walk away with Ridley following soon after a while. “You know he won’t stop.” She finally said.

“I know, but this is a part of growing up.” Blitz says.

Slender nods. “Just make sure he comes back. I think he would regret it if he didn’t.”

“He will come back.” Blitz says.

Slender stares at him as he keeps leaving before walking off herself and starts to call up a few numbers. “Pick up.” She said to herself.

Ridley growls as he keeps staring at the slightly repaired room. “Kinda quiet with him gone.” He mused.

“Five injured from the destruction of the factories. I am impressed.” Anakin says.

Blitz nods. “I pride myself on that. But that’s not important right now. We need to prepare for anything else.”

“You expecting more?” Ahsoka asks.

“Want one more catch before we pull in the net?” Blitz asks.

Ahsoka sighs. “No. I would rather not have another Spike incident.”

“Well he is not here any longer and we are prepared now.” Blitz says.

Anakin hums as he looks to the empty space and still sees the metal plate flying around. “You got to admit though, he is brutal in his ways and without much damage to himself.”

“He is a teenager so that is why that happened.” Blitz says before alarms start going off.

“We got incoming. A fleet set is coming out in front of us.” A communication officer said.

“All ships array in formation. Frigates, lock on and start firing. What is the status of the silencer?” Blitz asks.

“Charged and ready to fire. Just tell us when.” An officer said.

“Hold your fire until after they drop out of hyperspace.” Blitz says.

“Sir, we are detecting an anomaly.” A droid says to General Grievous.

Grievous growls and coughs a few times as he walks over with his hunched over self. “What is it?”

“We are unsure. Nothing like this is on record…” The droid was cut off when their ship was hit, shaking it.

Grievous growls and hangs onto a chair nearby. “What hit us?”

“From the reports, a ship cannon.” A droid says.

Grievous looks at them angrily. “In hyperspace?!”

“That can’t be right.” A droid says before they see the ship next to them get hit from the unmistakable laser from a ship cannon.

Grievous roars. “Get us out of hyperspace and stop whoever is doing that!”

“Time till we exit is one minute general. If we drop out now, we will be way off course.” The droid says.

Grievous glares at the droid. “And we won’t make it if we stay.”

“Sir, from our scans, it is only minor damage. Only dangerous under continuous fire.” The droid says.

Grievous stares at it. “Open the hull and deep shot into the core. They will hit the same spot if need be.”

“Sir, if we drop out now. We will be on the edge of the system and will take weeks to get to our target.” The droid says.

Grievous growls. “Then jump again. Simple.”

“We can’t general. We will be in the same situation.” The droid says before it seems all fire was concentrated on the cruiser to their left.

Grievous huffs as the ship starts to catch fire. “How much longer?”

“Thirty seconds.” The droid says before the cruiser to their left explodes.

Grievous shakes his head as he looks to their right and sees that ships are starting to get hit. “And not us.” He said to himself before walking away.

“It seems they are trying to concentrate fire.” The tactical droid says.

Grievous growls as he looks back to where the fire is possibly coming from. “Move to the left.”

“Sir?” A droid asks.

“All ships left of us and this ship will move further left.” Grievous ordered.

“Roger roger.” A droid says before relaying instructions.

They all tense up as the distance counter ticks down until they see a patch of space bend and aim towards there before some ships appear from hyperspace.

Blitz glares at the smaller ship on the left side. “Take it out.” He said to which the silencer fires and knocks out the power before the systems go on emergency power. “Did we hit it?”

“Reports that we have show that the fleet is down.” Ripley says.

“All ships engage!” Blitz order before looking at the surviving half. “Strange, it’s like they predicted our trap.” Blitz says.

Ridley shrugs. “Maybe they spent too much time in hyperspace.”

“No, I think we have a skilled opponent.” Blitz says.

Ridley frowns. “Do we have anything on these ships?”

“Nothing we can look up at this point. Ridley, I think it is time for us to implement one of your tactics and storm their bridge. I’ll go personally.” Blitz says.

Ridley nods and gets on a communication line. “I’ll have a ship ready.”

Blitz walks off.

The battle hadn’t been going well for Grievous as with the loss of half his fleet from the beginning and the fleet five times larger than normal bearing down on him. He was being pressed when a call came in.

“What?!” He yells to his communicator.

“Sir, a jedi right outside the ah…” The droid was cut off.

Grievous just stares at his communicator. “Yeah, one is telling us to tell you that you might want to stay a while longer and hope to whatever god you have that it will accept you and that he will collect all the lightsabers from all the Jedi you have slain and now will shoot me in the hea…oh no!” He heard before a blaster shot was heard.

“Was that necessary or just a Death Watch thing to do?” Blitz asks the communicator.

A sound that had a mix of screeching and cawing was heard before another laser shot was heard. A moment later, an explosion destroyed the doors to the bridge and laser and plasma fire started pouring in.

Grievous growls and shakes his head before looking to the doorway to see some mandalorians and space pirates. “Who’s the leader?” He growled.

“I assume you are the general?” Blitz asks noticing the droids, including the commando and manga guards, were already taken out.

Grievous huffs. “What does this sight present to you?”

Blitz shrugs. “I don’t know. A cripple? Return to the ship and make sure no droids destroy it. I will deal with him personally.”

“Sir.” A mandalorian said while a pirate just chitters and runs off somewhere else down the hall.

“Now that we are alone, why don’t we talk freely about General Grievous or would you prefer Qymaen jai Sheelal.” Blitz says.

Grievous seems to glare at him.

“Or have you forgotten who you were?” Blitz asks.

Grievous scoffs in his direction. “So you rather die talking or fighting?”

“Oh, that reminds me. Have you exact your vengeance on the Huk yet?” Blitz asks

Grievous roars. “You know nothing!”

“I know quite a lot. Like how your love was Ronderu lij Kummar was killed by them in a horrible way and no other woman or even your children could fill the void she left. Which is why you are called general Grievous, the one who forever grieves his men.” Blitz says.

Grievous yells out and Blitz ducks a bit as he starts up his lightsaber to stop the flying lightsaber coming at him before Grievous is on him and holding the saber against him. “You don’t even know the loss I would bet. You haven’t felt an entire ship gone from you!”

“I know all too well Grievous. I even know something you don’t I bet.” Blitz says.

Grievous just growls before looking to his saber. “Another to add to my collection.” He said before quickly taking out another.

“Don’t you find it strange that the incident that hurt you so much and left you in this state happened?” Blitz asks.

Grievous growls. “It happened!”

“It would be a huge coincidence especially how immediately afterwards you were picked up.” Blitz says.

Grievous stares at him for a moment, pushing him away and readies for another strike.

“Don’t you find that odd general?” Blitz asks.

Grievous growls as he still holds his stance.

“How Dooku himself picked you up after your ship exploded and took you to the banking clan?” Blitz asks, making Grievous flinch, signaling he had gotten to him. “Think about it, it couldn’t have been the Huks as they wouldn’t have known unless someone tipped them off and even then, I doubt they would have had time. If you think about it, not many people could have arranged it like San Hill and Poggle the Lesser did to do this to you.” Blitz says.

Grievous starts to growl lowly and then lunges at him and Blitz brings up his saber to block both of Grievous’s sabers.

“And if they are involved, how far up does it go?” Blitz asks tauntingly as he maneuvered his claws and darksaber.

Grievous yells out and only starts to block his blades now.

“Oh, speaking of children, I can’t hog you to myself. Someone else has a bone to pick with you.” Blitz says before Grievous is shot in the shoulder. Turning his head, he sees, to his shock, a Kaleesh warrior in mandalorian armor without his helmet and only a bone mask on his head aiming a Slugthrower rifle.

“Hello father.” The warrior said before Blitz kicked him back.

Grievous growls. “You would turn on your own flesh and blood?”

“You dare say that after you left me and my mother. She starved to death waiting for you.” The warrior yelled, starting to shoot at Grievous.

Grievous block the shots. “The war called!”

“No, you abandoned her and now I will have my revenge!” The warrior roared taking aim at his head.

Grievous seems to glare at him as he quickly blocks the next shot. “To stop them from getting to you!”

“Like you cared! You abandoned all my little brothers and sisters. I bet you don’t even remember my name or any of the others!” The warrior yells.

Grievous yells and lunges for him. “You want to strike at your father?!” He yells as he tries to swipe at him.

Then he was hit behind by force lightning before being thrown into a wall. “Stay away from my clansman.” Blitz says.

“Chief?” The warrior asks.

“Rael, time is up. This ship is going down. We have to leave now or we will die.” Blitz says.

Rael huffs and follows him. “Alright, let’s go.”

Blitz and Rael run for their ship as Grievous notices what Blitz noticed and the alarms were going off, signaling a reactor breach. Grievous, seeing this, holsters his lightsabers and runs for his bomber.

“How many ship explosions does it take to take down Grievous?” Anakin asks on the bridge as everyone returns.

“Trust me, you’re not the only one not happy.” Blitz says as Rael kept punching a punching bag nearby in a rest area as they were in hyperspace now.

Anakin raises an eyebrow. “What’s with him?”

“When it comes to Grievous, it’s personal.” Blitz says.

Anakin nods slowly. “Do we have to worry about anything?”

“No, he knows the issue of duty, but he wants to kill him more than anyone.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka looks confused. “Why him?”

“You’re looking at Grievous first born son.” Blitz says.

“What?!” They all ask.

“That’s right, he is Grievous’ first born child and he hates his father for abandoning them all.” Blitz says.

Rex grimaces. “He won’t be a problem, right?”

“No, he won’t be a problem.” Blitz says as Rael pulverizes the punching bag in half.

Rael huffs as he goes to grab another bag nearby and hooks it in. Ahsoka watches him carefully. “So how much does he want to kill him?”

“To him, his father killed his mother by abandoning them and he wants to use the very rifle his own father used to kill him.” Blitz says.

Anakin shakes his head a bit. “Dangerous road for revenge.”

“In fact, he joined up with the Fett clan to get money to send home after what the jedi did to his home planet.” Blitz says.

Rex raises an eyebrow at Anakin and Ahsoka as they take a step back.

“After learning the whole story, he no longer hates the jedi, but he hates the senate to the point he wants nothing to do with it and the trade federation and banking clans for they helped do that to his planet. That is why whenever a bounty pops up to hurt either, he takes it.” Blitz says.

Rael huffs. “And what good bounties they are.” He said, still punching the bag.

“He even brought in the head of a major executive of the banking clan once.” Blitz says.

Rex smiles. “He could make a great commando if he wanted.”

“Boring jackasses.” Rael mutters to himself.

“He slaughtered all of the guards personally before cutting off the head before he killed the bounty. That is how deep his hatred is.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka hisses quietly. “I hate to be on his end of the blaster.”

“That is why he has earned the rank of master of arms in the mandalorians.” Blitz says.

“So what’s the plan now? Stay until reinforcements?” Anakin asks.

“No, we are done here. We scored more than twelve kills from the ship reinforcements and also I did something worse with Grievous.” Blitz says.

Rex looks at him carefully. “Care to tell?”

“I planted the seeds of suspicion in him about the higher ranking members of the separatists.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka smiles a bit. “Not bad.”

Blitz smiles as he walks past him. “I know. I’m awesome.” He whispered.

Ahsoka chuckles. “That’s your wife’s line.”

“Imitation is a form of flattery.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka chuckles before they start to follow him and leave Rael behind in the rest area. “Though you way is more extreme than most men I know.” She said, looking to Anakin and Rex with a raised eyebrow.

“What can I say? I am a mandalorian raised and taught by a sith. A very dangerous combination to any opponent.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka grins. “No, you are a fool on top of your family. A very crazy and fun fool.”

“A few things are true. Now we head for Kinyen and from there we follow the hyperspace route till we reach Thyferra and then we head for Bestine.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka sighs. “Another jump with a lather of resting, coming up.” She jokes.

“This campaign will be a long one.” Blitz says.

Ahsoka nods. “And that’s why you must have some good outlook. Sorry about the kid though.”

“What are you sorry about?” Blitz asks,

Ahsoka sighs. “I could have caught that grenade and sent it somewhere else and he wouldn’t be in this much trouble now.”

Blitz shakes his head. “And if you had, the droids would have decimated the ship and almost everything would be in ruins. Spike is a dangerous commander when pushed enough. I mean, he literally took control of every single ship in the fleet including the republic ships and that takes…how long to hack for direct control? Making him very dangerous to everyone around him.”

Ahsoka looks at him. “Even the girls?”

Blitz almost chuckles. “Oh they are considered his hoard in his dragon mind. The dragon side will protect them to his last dying breath.”
