Rainbow Dash rubbed her temple in frustration, she'd been invited to tea with Fluttershy, but had found a third unwanted pony there
"Well hey there Rainbow" Zephyr greeted "To think you'd come all this way for me." he said "how sweet"
"Instantly regretting coming here" She sighed as she took a seat next to Fluttershy, there was a ruling and she looked over to see Zephyr now sitting next to her
"You mouth says no, but your body says yes" he whispered, Dash scooted closer to Fluttershy
"You to close to me" She muttered as he moved closer
"I'm sorry" Fluttershy whispered, "I couldn't get him to leave, he's....lonely..." Rainbow's ear's shot up
"You invited me here as a trap?" She glared at Fluttershy "I'm proud of you" She said giving Fluttershy a rub on the back "I'm truly a great influence on you" she pulled away as Zephyr began dragging her off
"That's for for the blind date sis!"
"But i'm still pissed about this!" Rainbow called back as Zephyr dragged her through the door "Dammit, dammit, dammit, I need a way out of this!" She thought as she looked around in panic, that's when she Saw Spike looking at a list heading for the Train station
"She waved frantically at him," Spike noticed the predicament and came to the rescue
"Hey Zephyr, I need to borrow Dash for a minute," he said as he approached
"We are on a hot Date, my friend, sorry but you'll have to find your own"
"Oh no, she...um...asked me to set it up?" he asked, Zephyr,
"Why didn't you say so? LEAD THE WAY PURPLE DRAGON!!" Rainbow shook her head as Spike lead them to the castle, thankfully he led them through the most barren of places so nopony could see her in her embarrassment, once they were inside Spike freed her from his grip and the two slid into a side room, telling him to wait outside for a while
"What the fuck?" Spike asked
"Fluttershy invited me to tea!" Spike nodded
"And you didn't kick his ass to escape why?"
"Cause then he'd go back and mope around Fluttershy" She turned to him "What are you doing? Please tell me it's hard and you need my help"
"I'm going to Canterlot for some ingredients"
"Ingredients?" She asked
"Twilight and Starlight are trying to make all 1001 potions in their big book of potion, their making growth potion, poisons, and..." Spike face lite up "...And Love Potions!" Spike ran over to a side door with Rainbow behind him and lead her to a room full potions in the middle was a rotating potion stand,
"Cool" Rainbow said as she spun it, Spike stopped it immediately
"Don't do that, one of them will fly out the window or something"
"Like that would happen, so which of these..." Spike ran his finger's along the bottles and pulled one out
"A simple, easy to make, Love potion! Lasts 3 hours, wears off if the love wasn't meant to be, ya-da, ya-da" Rainbow reached for it and he pulled away
"But why should I just hand it to you?" Rainbow rolled her eye's and gave him puppy eyes
"One Drug's Please, that's all I askes of you?" Spike snorted.
"Alright take you Love Drugs, Just make him drink it in front of some Lonely Mare."
"What kind of a shitty person would willingly date..." Rainbow snapped her FIngers "Lighting Dust! Yeah, she'll do," Spike sighed,
"Alright, I'll save you from an embracing date, for friendship or whatever." Spike took the bottle "Go get your friend, I'll distract Zephyr for you, Spike walked out into the hall and lead Zephyr farther into the castle, talking about cooking Dinner and needing his amazing presence to be inspired to cook.
"Who am I to defy a Drake with explicit tastes?" He said as he followed Spike to the Kitchen, Rainbow slipped out and Flew as fast as she could to Wonderbolt academy, once there she made her way to Spitfire's office, and knocked on the door, after a moment there was a response and she walked in
"oh?" She asked seeing Dash "That's funny, I thought it was your day off?"
"I need a favor!" Rainbow said, "I need to Find Lighting Dust, you still have her old records right?" Spitfire raised a brow
"The Leader of the Washouts and your Rival for life?" She asked
"Yes, that one" Rainbow said, "I need to find her." Spitfire walked to the back of the room and began looking for Lighting dust's old recruit file
"Ah, here it is." She handed it out, but pulled back when Rainbow Reached for it "And what do I get out of this?" Rainbow Sighed
"I'll get you a bottle of Liquid Rainbow Juice" She sighed, Spitfire smiled
"You know me so well." Spitfire said, tossing her to file "You have till we go on our training mission to the Crystal Empire next month to deliver, or it's cleaning duty for you" With that Rainbow looked through the office and tracked Lightning dust's address.
Grabbing a pen and some paper she wrote a quick note
"Dear Lighting Dust, you seem lonely and I would like to fix than I have set you up on a date," Rainbow thought for a second and added "The Food and Drinks are Free, Please enjoy, and I hope you find love, From - A Random Pony" Rainbow nodded
"Free Food, she'll come for that!" Rainbow folded up the paper and lest the file of Spitfire's desk as she ran to deliver it.
10 minutes later
Spike had just finished making dinner for two while having to listen to Zephyr talk about himself
"...and that's how I found my passion for being a hairdresser." he said, "and there was this time that Rainbow...." Spike inwardly sighed
"Someone shot me," he thought as when he heard a knock and ran to the front door to find an unknown mare
"Hey," She said holding up a note "You my blind date?" She asked handing Spike the note, Spike read it smiled
"Nope, I'm the guy making you and your date some food, here" Spike handed motioned in front of him, "Just follow me to you...hot date?" Spike turned and ran back to the kitchen trying not to get sick over what he'd just said, and found Zephyr waiting
"Is Rainbow here?"
"um..no, but some other Mare is here to date you, she said she could...sense your awesomeness from here?" Spike handed him a cup full of the potion and ran ahead with another cup, handing it off the Lighting dust
"This way," Spike said as he ran ahead he saw Zepher drinking and hide behind the door as Lighting walked in, downing her glass the two finished and hiccuped, their respective sounds making them look at each other in silence for a moment, then Spike walked back in
"So...you guy's ready for dinner?" he asked as Rainbow peaked in thew the Window to watch
"Sure, He's...reasonably attractive."
"Oh, somepony call a nurse, I think My heart stopped," he said as he followed his date to the table Spike had set, Spike looked out the window and at Rainbow
"I can't tell if it worked or not" he muttered as he pulled the food out of the oven and served it, he left the couple to eat and meet Rainbow at the door
"Alright, not my problem anymore, Twilight's in Canterlot till tomorrow, and Starlight's in the Empire babysitting, and I got shit to do in Canterlot, Spike waved as he left
"Good luck with this shit," he yelled back at Rainbow
"Thanks", She called back as she peaked in at the two eating in silence, "Celestia please let this work" She added silently.
