Autumn is starting to fall in Equestria, the bats are going away. The bats usually never do this, they've never done anything like this for as long as Celestia lived. Equestria were their home, especially in the apple orchards, specifically Sweet Apple Acres.

Applejack trotted out of the farm house, yawning. She was going to harvest the apples, which were all ripe. This is the time that she would see some bats, not much, only about five every time she goes bucking apples. They weren't very harmful, but they could bite. Sometimes, they would munch on the bucked apples, which bothers Applejack a lot.

Trotting joyfully to the north-west field, she set a bucket down, ready to buck the tree. She bucked about 50 apple trees until she realised something. There were absolutely no bats. Usually, she would see about a bat every 25 trees. This time, none, not even one happily gobbling up the apples in the bucket.

'What in Equestria? Not bats?' Applejack thought.

She was curious to why there were no bats, maybe it was just that day, but she would see bats at least once every single day. This felt very bizarre to her. The bats were all gone, absolutely none were able to be found.

The next day arrived, something was different about the apple orchard. Still no bats, but something else, a few cats. A few cats, not strange for Applejack to see, after all, it's Ponyville, anything can happen. Applejack has seen cats in the apple orchard before, but not this much.

In her mind, she thought this was pretty normal, there were cats on the field sometimes, so she carried on that day, not even thinking about the cats. Days and days passed, the cat amount grew very slowly, barely noticeable until one day. The one day that the cats flooded Sweet Apple Acres.

'What the hay is this?' Applejack exclaimed, baffled by the ridiculous amount of cats on the field. One orchard was stuffed with cats, another one with cats on the trees. Something wasn't right. Bats were all gone, and then cats ruled the place.

This made Applejack furious. She had to find out the reasoning behind this. How did the cats get here? How did the cats manage to get here? Cats don't exactly exist in Equestria, they were imported outside of Equestria, in Abyssinia. There weren't many cats there though, so that many cats in Equestria was strange.

She had to get them out of the orchard or her family's apple farm would be ruined. Calling in her friends, she explained the situation. 'Hey ya'll, can you help me with a tincy, wincy, problem I'm having?' Applejack asked her friends, all in Twilight's castle.

'What problem?' Twilight answered, 'We'll all help.'

'Cats, a lot of cats at my apple farm,' Applejack replied.

'Cats?' Rarity asked, worried, 'Is Opalescence there?'

'I don't know, they're all multicoloured, hard to distinguish.'

Twilight called for all of them to go to Applejack's farm, ready to get rid of the cats. Upon arrival, they were greeted with even more cats, some eating the apples. 'What the hay? They're eating the apples now!' Applejack yelled to the others.

'Operation get the cats out is a go!' Twilight announced.

The 6 ponies ran around the apple farm, with no real plan. There were thousands of cats, some on the trees and some on the ground. There were just too many, there was no way to even exterminate them. All they could do in the whole day was to get rid of 100 or so cats. Fluttershy did the most, clearing about 30 cats, Pinkie second with 29.

At the end of the day, not many cats were expelled out of the farm. All the ponies congregated in the barn. 'Ahh darn, this situation is worse than the bats one,' Applejack said to the others.

The others nodded and muttered to each other. They were definitely going to help Applejack to get rid of the cats, even if it would take lots of energy and time, she was their friend, and friends helped each other. Night fell on them, the cats going active. The ponies all went back to their respective homes, getting ready for another day of expelling the cats.

Dawn came in a matter of hours, this time only Pinkie and Twilight were there, the others were called out for a friendship quest. Trying their best, they weren't able to exterminate the cat problem. Nothing would work, it could well be the end of the apple farm.

Applejack said no to giving up the apple farm, she lived there since she was a filly, and she loved it. There was also Granny Smith, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and not to mention Big Mac that had residence at Sweet Apple Acres. The cat problem might be impossible to fix.

Not giving up, the three ponies thought of a plan, to do it in a very strategic way. The plan was simple, do what they did to the parasprites, a marching band consisting of only Pinkie Pie. Pinkie broke physics and logic. She was a strange pony that worked in wonderful ways, though she did have a dark side, Pinkamena.

Grabbing out 10 instruments, Pinkie started to play all of them all at once, something another pony was not able to do. She was truly talented in that, unique at being able to do things that nopony else could do. The marching band works, and it worked better than the parasprites.

Marching along with Pinkie, the cats were led into the Everfree Forest, completely gotten rid of. There would still be a chance that they might return, but the chance would be very low because the Everfree Forest was very hard to navigate around. Maybe they would return back to Sweet Apple Acres, nopony really knows.

The bats have returned in spring, the cats completely gone. The bats never completely left Equestria, it was just temporary.
