The Ponanggalan

Since nightmare night had just arrived Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo asked to have Kahmey take them out to get something sweet to bite. When Applejack, Apple Bloom, Rarity, Sweetie Belle, RainbowDash and Scootaloo got to Kahmey’s house for this they felt like they were being watched, but they felt like their sisters were being watched more than them. When Kahmey answered the door he saw the CMC’s and told all six of them to get inside immediately.
Applejack, Rarity and RainbowDash couldn’t understand why but just went in anyway and demanded an explanation for his command.

(Now why in the hay are you commanding us as soon as we get to your house?) Applejack asked in frustration (Didn’t you feel it? I did.) Kahmey replied. (Um, we felt something, but we don’t know what it was.) said Applejack (Well that’s why.) Kahmey answered

The three adult mares looked at each other in confusion and the three fillies looked at Kahmey and asked what was going on. (What is it Kahmey?) the CMC’s asked Kahmey tried to talk them out of wanting the explanation. But they quickly talked him into telling them what was going on even though he was hesitant to speak of it.

(Alright alright, sit down on the couch while I get some brambles to line the windows with.) said Kahmey. The ponies looked at each other in confusion once more.

When Kahmey came back in he sat down in the recliner across from the couch and told a story that burnt the ponies’ mind like lava.

(Alright. There is a creature outside that takes fillies from their parents or legal guardians and eats them. If you ever feel like you’re being watched or smell vinegar nearby then it’s very close. It has nothing but a head and it’s organs, which is why it’s a good idea to line your windows with brambles or anything very sharp. So right now we’re safe.) Kahmey explained (So what is it and how does it move if it’s just a head and it’s organs?) Scootaloo asked in fear. (It’s called a Penanggalan and it floats.) Kahmey replied (How do we get rid of it?) RainbowDash asked
(There is only one known way to kill it. You find the body it uses to move around during the day and put a bunch of broken glass in it, the sharp edges of the glass shards will slice all the organs up and it will die.) said Kahmey (Why does it smell like vinegar?) Apple Bloom asked
(That’s a good question Apple Bloom. Due to it’s main body being separate from it’s head and organs, the decomposition stage will happen if the body is not preserved. So it has to soak it’s body in vinegar like a pickle.) Kahmey answered. So the six ponies realized that Kahmey was just trying to get them in away from this creature and he apparently was able to smell it and wanted them and the fillies out of danger. They didn’t know what they were gonna do to kill it since they had no idea where it’s body was or how they were gonna find it without being in danger.

(Let’s go find the body and kill this thing.) said RainbowDash (No we need to stay in here until morning. No fillies and colts come around here since the neighbors never have candy and I have my own traditions that don’t involve giving candy to fillies and colts. If we stay in here it will leave.) Kahmey replied. (Well if you say it feeds off of fillies and colts we can’t let it live.) said Applejack (Yeah. I say we pony up, confront this thing and destroy it.) RainbowDash added
(Kahmey, I know you want our sisters protected, but we can’t let it feed off of others.) said Rarity

Kahmey thought about things again and realized that he was only thinking about the safety of three young ones when he should have been thinking about all.
(You’re right. I’ll be back soon, and I won’t rest until it’s gone.) said Kahmey going for his sovereign sword.

Kahmey knew he would be putting himself in danger since the rest of the information he had about the penanggalan, it could move at lightning speed and if that be the case it could either kill him or really perform harm on him which will follow him going to the ponyville hospital. Applejack, RainbowDash and Rarity definitely tried to talk him into letting them or somepony else go with him. He declined.

When he got his sovereign sword he made his way outside and began looking for it’s body.
He sniffed around trying to pick up the smell of vinegar. When he picked up the stench of vinegar he followed it and power walked towards it. He looked over his shoulder and saw the penanggalan on the roof of his house as if it was gonna attempt to go through the skylight, luckily it was lined with the brambles. So he continued his power walk towards the body.

While Kahmey was out the six ponies stayed in his living room and tried to keep their sanity.
They looked over to the window and saw it. It had the head of a mare but its organs were hanging from where it’s neck should have been.

(EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! WHAT IS THAT THING!?) Scootaloo screamed (Don’t worry Scoots, it won’t be able to get through the cage of brambles.) said RainbowDash

That’s when the penanggalan’s attention was turned from them to another filly outside the house. Rarity and Applejack looked out the window while RainbowDash stayed with the fillies to comfort them, which was very hard due to what was outside and Applejack and Rarity screaming at the sight they saw. When the penanggalan moved, there was nothing but a whole pile of bones left.

(I hope Kahmey finds the body and fills it with glass.) said Rarity (I do to.) Applejack replied

When Kahmey got to the source of the smell he grabbed the body and started putting a bunch of broken glass into it. When he got done he brought the body back home and put it in the backyard. When he got to his house he saw five filly bodies in front of his house but he still made his way to his backyard. He placed the body where the creature could find it and get inside. Just before the next morning Kahmey brought the ponies to the kitchen window. They looked outside and watched the creature put it’s body back on.
As the Penanggalan got back into it’s body it began shrieking and crying in severe pain and eventually died. After the penanggalan was dead Kahmey went to the filly skeletons and cried his eyes out. When Kahmey calmed down enough he got the royal guards and a funeral wagon over and the skeletons were brought to the local cemetery. The penanggalan was burned and the brambles were removed from all of the windows. Applejack, Apple Bloom, Rarity, Sweetie Belle, RainbowDash and Scootaloo went home and Kahmey blessed his house to make sure the spirit of the penanggalan was removed as well. Kahmey knew he had beaten the penanggalan for good.
