Thousands of years ago...

They found themselves in the castle, on the night of Luna's banishment to the moon.

"I am sorry sister.", said Celestia. "You have given me no choice, but to use these." as the Elements of Harmony rose up on the pedestal.

Taking them in her magic, she flew high, and charged the energy. Nightmare Moon fired a blast towards her, and Celestia fired back at the same time.

"NOOOOOOOO!!!", yelled Nightmare Moon as the energy from the elements engulfed her.

A shock wave sent her flying up to the moon, and sent Celestia flying downwards. Looking up at the image of a mare on the moon, Celestia's eyes welled up, and her face softened into deep sorrow and sadness. Unable to hold it anymore, she released a loud shriek, buried her head in her hooves, and cried her heart out, over the loss of her beloved sister.
