There's no tag for Castlevania, so I couldn't put it on here. Pretty sure a good amount of people know the game already anyway.

The Hidden One

After the disappearance of Richter Belmont, Dracula's castle reemerged in a remote area of Transylvania. Soon after, Alucard, the son and enemy of the murderous vampire, began to sense the evil energy growing within the walls of his childhood home. Upon entering the gates of the castle, he began to feel something faint.

"Holy magic...?"

The vampire halfling took five steps forward. The feeling grew stronger and stronger. Casting a glance above himself, he used his heightened vision to detect the source. Whoever it was was curled in a protective ball of purple mass. They were sobbing and shaking hysterically. From the sound of their cries, he determined the creature was female. He could smell her blood.

"She's injured. I can't reach her now. I'll come back for her later."

Alucard proceeded into the castle.

Fighting wave after wave of deadly monsters, the son of Dracula found his way to the library. Within the confines of its walls rested an old wizard.

"It's been a long time, old one."

"Oh! It's you, master Alucard! What can I do for you?"

"I need your help."

"I'm sorry, young master, but I cannot aid one who opposes the master."

"You won't go unrewarded..."

"Really? Well, in that case, just tell me what you need!"

Alucard used the money he had collected around the castle to purchase a jewel of open. With it, he could retrieve the soul of bat and form of mist relics.

Alucard made his way through the Colosseum where he found Richter, who now claimed to be the master of the castle. Confused, the vampire halfling retrieved the mist relic and returned to the library. After defeating a low class demon, he found the soul of bat.

"Now I can find out what the mysterious presence I felt earlier is..."

Alucard fought fiercely in order to return to the gates. The sense of chivalry his mother instilled in him would not allow him to ignore the suffering of an innocent creature. Transforming into a bat, he flew to the overhead passage. At the apex, he found the frightened magic wielder. He reverted back to his original form while her back was turned to him.

Twilight heard a momentary flapping sound behind her. Veering her head, she saw a tall, pale European man. She began to panic.

"Please...Don't hurt me,' she cried.

"Calm yourself. I'm not here to harm you."

"You're not...?"

"I am Alucard."

"How did you get here?"

"By magical means."

"You're a magic user?"

"Yes. I sense that you are as well."

Alucard noticed her injured leg.

"You're wounded."

"I came to this castle by order of Princess Celestia. She was concerned about an evil force here. I was attacked as soon as I arrived."

"The evil force is my father, Count Dracula. Someone is attempting to resurrect him."

"The king of vampires is your father!?"

"I've come to this castle to finish him."

"I never knew there were good vampires."

"...Come. Let me attend to your wound."

"You're not gonna' drink my blood, are you?"

"...No."

Twilight walked over to the vampire prince. From his coat, he pulled a glass vile containing a blue liquid.

"Of course! A healing potion!"

"Are you well-versed in the realm of medicine?"

"Not as much as some of my friends back home, but I study under them."

"Here."

Twilight took the vile and greedily consumed it. The blood began to disappear.

"How do you feel?"

"Better. Thank you."

"You should leave this place."

"I can't. I still have to finish my research."

"...Very well. It seems there is no point in trying to talk you out of it. However, I cannot allow you to go alone."

"I understand."

"Come."

Alucard leapt back to the ground. Twilight spread her wings and followed behind him. For this one night, she would become a vampire's familiar.

Back in the Colosseum, Alucard could sense a divine spiritual force on the top floor. With his acquired abilities, he would now be able to use this power to his advantage.

"Why are we here?"

"Throughout this castle, there are many hidden rooms. Until now, I have not been able to access them. Above us lies a power of great significance in our struggle against evil."

"All I see is a ceiling."

"Watch closely."

The vampire prince jumped into the air. He slashed at the stony top with his weapon. His strikes revealed a hidden room above them.

"Follow me."

Using the gravity boots, he propelled himself into the air. The room was a narrow hallway. At the end was a glowing blue sword.

"What is it!?"

"A holy weapon crafted by god and his angels."

"I've read a few religious texts. Aren't holy weapons especially effective against the undead?"

"Indeed."

"I never thought I would see one."

"This world is full of magic most men do not recognize."

"That's very romantic of you."

"Let us be on our way."

Twilight's power grew immensely during her and Alucard's confrontations with Olrox and Karasuman. Using her shield and blast spells, she helped the vampire prince make short work of them both. With the echo of bat relic, Alucard brought the location of the Spike Breaker out of the shadows. Returning to the royal chapel, Alucard and Twilight entered a previously blocked area. Maria was waiting for them.

"Alucard...?"

"We meet again."

"Who is this?"

"Hello. I'm Twilight Sparkle."

"Pleasure to make your acquaintance. Have either of you seen Richter?"

"I don't know if he's the one you're looking for, but I found a Belmont."

"So he is here!"

"I've read about the Belmonts," Twilight cut in, "They've been fighting Dracula for centuries."

"My. You're quite the studious one, aren't you," Maria teased.

"My brother has the brawn. I got the brains."

"You'll need both in this place. Be on your guard. I'm going to find Richter."

Maria ran off, leaving Twilight and Alucard to their own devices.

Recognizing a confrontation with Richter was inevitable, Alucard and Twilight set out to stop him. Obtaining the Mormegil sword, they sped hastily to the top floor.

"I've been waiting for you," the Belmont spoke ominously.

"So it is you...But why is a Belmont planning the resurrection of Count Dracula?"

"Resurrection," Twilight thought to herself.

"Count Dracula rises but once every century, and my role is over. If I can resurrect him, then the battle will last for eternity."

Alucard and Richter engaged each other in mortal combat. With the Mormegil in his possession, Alucard bypassed his opponents holy defenses, inflicting major damage to the vampire hunter. Even Richter's ultimate technique proved no match for the vampire prince's fierce power.

"It's over, Belmont."

"So the war between humans and vampires finally ends here..."

"..."

"What need for the shepherd when the wolves have all gone? My time on this world has come to an end..."

"Richter...," Twilight said sadly.

Unable to heal his wounds, Richter bled to death in front of Alucard and Twilight. The castle began to crumble."

"We must escape."

"Yeah..."

With the break of dawn, the castle completely collapsed. Maria was nowhere to be found.

"Do you think Maria got out okay?"

"I can't sense her life force anymore..."

"No..."

"I'm sorry..."

"I suppose there's nothing more we can do."

"I must return to sleep. I strongly advise you to leave this place and never return."

"I understand."

"Farewell..."

"Goodbye..."

Alucard and Twilight parted ways. The time had come for her to return home. She swore to herself she would never come back to Earth - not as long as monsters continued to terrorize the land.
