The lilacs, the metal, it was intoxicating to smell. Pinkie Pie rose from her seat, struggling to move her limbs. There was a pitch blackness, a unseeable room that was hidden.
There from afar, a scratch of vinyl could be heard. Classical music from the olden days would play. There was no way the sound could be originated. Only the black nothingness was there awaiting her.
“What's going on, please is anypony there!?” she said. Her voice shaking and nervous.
A few clop steps went out, from beyond the darkness was a quadrupedal form. A earth pony with a nurse hat stood still with a white mask stuck to her face. She went towards Pinkie Pie with a stick that had a bright red tinge on the end.
“Time to cauterize the wound”, she said.
In a single sting, the pony dipped it right into a limb, which seared it. Screams went out, words of agony and cursing were said. Another body part was hit, louder screams than before, but the suffering was so unreal she didn’t even notice the leg. It was melted off, skin and flesh stretched to the ground like cooked elastic. Red juice spurted in gelatinous ooze from her.
Before she could think, another had hit her chest. She breathed hectically, she tried to contain herself by getting all her collected thoughts together. It was no use, another hit to her hindquarter. The buttocks popped from the heat and pus collected down her hind leg that was still attached.
“Hmm, seems like the treatment is working, best to keep going”, the mare said.
“No... please, I b-beg you to stop… please”.
Another hit to the mane, it set on fire and spread over her head.
“Aaaaaaaaah!!!”
Pinkie Pie shook, she tried to quell the flames from her head, but it was too hot to fight against. The flames crackled and burnt the mane to a crisp. Black and turned to soot, the fire spread to her head and chest.
The yelling and desperate pleas were met with the burned sensation all over her body. A living pony bonfire was before the mare. One last blood curdling yell gave out before she was engulfed in fire.
The mare unveiled her mask to show more of her vanilla colored muzzle. Her light blue eyes captured the flames that roared into oblivion. Captivated by the fire, she stood still at the sight. To her, this was just another need to help a patient from her pain. Just like all ponies they needed the assistance to push their anger and self-imposed depression, this was the best way to clean it all away. Cleansed with the fires of hell directly into the right part. The fires died down and what was left was a skeleton that watched her. A job well done to free somepony that really needed it. Now all that was left was to cleanse the rest of the poor denizens of ponyville of their depression and taint.
This was truly the best way to cauterize a wound on ponykind. Anypony would agree with that sentiment.
“Just let it all burn away, a clean way to be free” she said.
The mare went into the darkness, leaving the corpse smoldered and black. The only thing left that could be consistent was the corpse left alone and the hoofsteps that resounded in the complex. Suddenly, a flick of a light and the lone light bulb above turned the rest of the darkness into a complete pitch black.
She went up the stairs and found herself in a hospital from a hatch below. She exited the tiny room that resembled a closet. It was almost time for her shift.
The mare walked forward through the hospital’s hallway. Ponies in their rooms sickly and more could be seen as she went. At the front of the foyer, Screwloose waved to her and she smiled back as happily as she could.
“Nurse Redheart” somepony called out. “We need you in section C, it seems Doctor Hoofenstein needs your help with a appendectomy”.
“I’ll be on my way”
She made a full sprint down the hallway. From the corner of her eye, she saw something.
For a single moment she had seen a creature, black as the dust, eyes agape and filled with black goop. Nostrils flooded down with horrid juices. Nurse Redheart paused for a moment before her senses were shocked by memory of what she saw.
“Redheart to section C please”
She continued to run and then entered the room.
“I’m here I’m here!” she said.
The door slammed behind her. There was no pony around, not even the bed was filled with a supposed pony she was supposed to care for. Nurse Redheart looked down to the floor and went to the bed. There she unveiled the covers and flames shot out into the room in droves. Nurse Redheart ran to the door and placed her hoof onto the doorknob. Her hoof singed by the incredible heat, that she went back from the touch. The flames scoured around her and inside the room, the window outside now dark as can be.
Nurse Redheart stood and came through. She had realized exactly what had befallen her.
“It all makes sense now” she said. “I was never in Ponyville…”
THAT'S RIGHT
The figure appeared before her. It’s black coal like bone and goo flowing out of it in droves.
ROT
Nurse Redheart closed her eyes. There would never be hope ever again.
Never, again. Doomed to suffer, forever in what she had done.
Nurse Redheart could feel the foam that had covered her hooves. It was sticky and foul smelling of sulphur and brimstone. It filled the room and went up to her head before she was completely encased.
She fell into the darkness that she could never leave. Drowned to the depths of her own monstrosity. And she drowned in it with a burned sensation that covered her entirely to the brim.
