//-------------------------------------------------------// Celestial Knowledge -by Artfulcord- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Celestial Knowledge //-------------------------------------------------------// Celestial Knowledge “Hello! Sister!” Celestia said from the other side of Luna’s door. Luna had been acting odd lately and she was determined to get to the bottom of whatever was going on. “Ugh! Is she always this lazy?” Celestia asked the batpony guard that was outside Luna’s door. “I mean, I understand her job is tiring and she does it at night but it’s almost 7 pm! She must be at least half-awake!” She once again directed this at the guard. The guard was beginning to get slightly annoyed. Celestia had been banging on Luna’s door for a solid 4 minutes. “Would you like me to open the doors for you, your highness?” He asked. Celestia seemed startled that the guard even talked. But she quickly regained her composure and answered with a simple, “Yes.” The guard approached the door with a dark blue key that seemed to be shaped as a crescent moon and mirrored her sisters coat. Her inserted the key into an almost identical keyhole. As the guard turned it Celestia could hear the soft trotting of hooves approach from the other side. The guard was finished unlocking the door and he opened it slightly before it was thrown open by a clearly annoyed dark blue alicorn mare. “Sister what is the mea-“ Luna noticed she was now face to face with her guard. Their wings flared up and both of their cheeks turned pink. Luna desperately racked her brain for a way out of the awkward situation but all she could muster was a half-hearted “Uhhh... hi Nova.” “Hi, mistress.” Supernova replied almost as awkwardly as Luna. Celestia seemed oblivious to what had happened and walked right in past Luna. Supernova opened his mouth as to say something then turned, returning to his post. Luna did the same and softly shut the door behind her. “What is the meaning of this sister?” Luna asked Celestia. Celestia was standing oddly close to her sister’s dresser. Luna only kept things that were close to her in there. She did not want her sister searching that. Much to her dismay, something caught Celestia’s eye. Luna had forgotten to shut her top drawer fully last night and her sister had a keen eye for things that may embarrass Luna. And in that drawer was th one thing that could ruin her sisters life and Celestia could hang it over her head for as long as they remain. Luna closed the drawer with her magic as fast as she could, startling Celestia. “Don’t look in that! There’s nothing you would be interested in!” She stated quickly, in order to cover her tracks. Knowing her sister, Celestia decided to play along with Luna until she could get a look at that book. Oh! That rhymes! Celestia thought cheerfully to herself. Celestia pretended not to care about the book and continued with her, ‘mission’. “Sister you have been acting fairly odd in recent years. Is there something on your mind?” She asked in a certain tone. Luna recognized the tone as the one Celestia uses to secretly tell her that she knew something was up and she was going to figure out what it was. Luna was now even more afraid then she was before. Not only did her sister almost get her hands on one of her most precious items but she knew that something was wrong. She realized that she wasn’t going to be able hide her ‘secret’ relationship for long. Once Celestia put her mind to something she would stop at nothing to find an answer. Luna once had another secret. She had been stealing Celestia’s cakes one time during their desert and almost immediately after Celestia had found her out. Wether it was her sister’s over excess of cake love or it was an uncanny ability she was taking no chances. “Oh you must be mistaken!” Luna said. “I would never hide something important from you! You’re my sister, you know everything about me!” Luna walked around to behind her sister and began to slowly nudge Celestia towards her door with her wing. “No, I don’t know everything about you.” Celestia said flatly. “I didn’t even think your job was hard until Starlight swapped our cutie marks. I don’t want to lose you again Luna. If there’s something on your mind just tell me.” Celestia wrapped her own wing around Luna in a hug. “Don’t worry Tia. I’m not going anywhere.” Luna said sympathetically, returning the hug. The two diarchs released each other and Celestia made motion towards the door. But she stopped when she had it half-open. Celestia looked back at Luna with her horn shrouded in the golden glow of her magic. A book came into view with a puff of magic. Across the cover it read; Luna’s Diary Luna’s ears fell. Her entire face was a deep red. A smug smile creeped across Celestia’s face. “You won’t mind if I borrow this, will you?” And with a flash of light, she was gone. Legend has it that Luna’s scream was heard around Equestria that night. ——————————————————————————————————————————————— Celestia had teleported back to their old castle. She giggled to herself before trotting into her old room, plopping down on her old bed (after cleaning it with her magic, of course), and opening Luna’s diary. Dear Diary, Today was the first day that I’ve spent since being a horrible pony. I feel great! But I wonder what other ponies think of me. That little town that I was freed from Nightmare Moon threw a big celebration for my return! I like that pink pony, she really knows how to throw a party! That’s all for now. I don’t have much on my mind. Celestia’s heart was warmed by Luna’s first diary entry. She was glad her sister had handled her first day back well. But Celestia was on a mission. She flipped through the book until she had located the most recent entry. Dear Diary, I had a very fun conversation with Nova last night. He denied it for a while but finally confessed that he loved me! I can’t believe it! He loves me! Then we had our goodnight kisses and he went back to his post outside my door. I don’t think he heard me squeal. Or at least I hope not. I would have never imagined falling in love with anypony, let alone a royal guardsman. But I think sister is starting to become slightly aware of the situation. I need a better place to hide you. Celestia gasped. Luna had a coltfriend! And she didn’t tell her! Celestia was slightly hurt by this, but she was also intrigued. Luna had called her batpony guard Nova earlier... “She didn’t!” Celestia said. ——————————————————————————————————————————————— “What are we going to do?!” Luna asked Supernova as she paced back and forth nervously. “You’re asking me?! I’m gonna get fired! Or worse!” He replied. “Don’t be such a foal! The worst thing that could happen is my sister hangs this over my head for eternity.” Luna realized her own words. “Oh no!” As if on cue, Celestia appeared directly in front of Supernova with a flash of magic. He froze in fear. Celestia lowered her head and squinted her eyes at him. She circled him like an animal stalking it’s prey. She stopped once she had a full 360 degree view of the guard. The Celestia raised her head and stopped squinting. “I approve.” She huffed. “You have permission to marry my sister.” The last sentence sent Supernova from a state of fear to confusion. Luna’s face had once again gone deep red. Even redder than before. Luna galloped right up to Celestia and said, “I don’t need you to chose who I marry!” “Yes you do! Your mate needs to have my approval before I will accept him. Or her. I’m flexible.” Celestia replied. Luna was now practically screaming. “I DO NOT NEED YOUR APPROVAL FOR WHO I CHOOSE TO MARRY! AND I DO NOT LIKE MARES!” “Luna I know you are in love with this guard. I also know you have been hoping he would propose to you and you two would secretly get married. And I am okay with these things.” Celestia retorted. “However,” Celestia’s tone became very serious. “I am not okay with you planning on not telling me until you were married.” Luna noticed her sister seemed hurt by this. “Look Tia, I...” Luna took a shaky breath. “I really am sorry about hiding this from you. But I didn’t think you would handle me having a special somepony well.” Celestia gasped again. “I would always support you! No matter what!” Supernova was now extremely confused and embarrassed at the same time. “Wait, so does this mean I’m allowed to date her?” Luna slapped her face with her hoof. “What?” Supernova asked. ——————————————————————————————————————————————— Celestia had given Luna back her diary and was now heading to her bed. Luna had to make sure she was down the hall and had turned the corner. “Okay, she’s gone.” Luna said. Luna and Supernova sat in front of the fireplace in Luna’s room. Several minutes passed before Supernova finally broke the choked silence. “Would you say yes?” He asked her. “Of course.” Luna replied. “Then...” Supernova got up and walked over to his armor. Luna also got up. He sifted through one of his saddlebags that he had brought with him and pulled out a small black box. Luna gasped and covered her mouth with her front hooves. “You...” “Don’t freak out.” Supernova told her. He walked over and bent his front left leg and opened the box to reveal a diamond ring. “But Luna will you marry me?” “Yes!” Luna replied almost immediately. She jumped into him, practically crying a river of happiness. Supernova hugged her and held her close. She lifted her head and kissed him. A loud squeal from the other side of the door caught the attention of both ponies. The door flung open to reveal Celestia and the other night guards, most of which were batponies. All of which knew Supernova. The two were supporting each other with their hind legs and wings out. They faced the crowd with beet-red faces. “Tia!” Luna shouted. Celestia was giggling up a storm while the night guard was erupting with laughter and whistles. Supernova spotted one particular Pegasus that seemed to be enjoying it the most. Flash Sentry was almost rolling with laughter. “Oh yeah Flash!? Well at least I don’t have a major crush on Princess Twilight!” Flash stopped laughing. “I’m so happy for you Luna!” Celestia said. Luna was anything but happy. “I thought we were going to keep this a secret!” The entire wing of the castle was now awake and aware of what was going on. “Oh! Sorry!” Celestia replied sheepishly. “Well congratulations anyway!” A nervous smile was now on Supernova’s face. “Well they already know. Why hide it?” And they kissed.
