What Happened?

It was raining on a Sunday night with Lee driving on the road to his new apartment. He would have left sooner, but there was a family get together he didn’t want to miss, even if his classes began the next morning. He was also moving the second last of his stuff to his apartment, which included his bedding, groceries, self-defense weapons, clothes, and school supplies. Lee was finishing his talk with his mom on his phone over his car.

“Okay Mom, see you next week.” Lee said on his phone. His eyes constantly on the road. “Okay sweetie, call us when you get there.” His mom said, making sure her boy gets to his apartment safe. “I will, love you, bye.” Lee hung up his iPhone and continued driving down the road.

The rain was was harsh and lighting started to strike. Lee knew he had to get to his apartment soon if he want’s to get out of the weather. The next thing he knows, lightning struck right in front of him. Lee had to close his eyes from the light and noticed some bumps on the road. He opened his eyes and realized he wasn't on the road any more, but was driving on a dirt path. Lee slammed on the breaks and stop mere inches from a tree. His glasses nearly fell off so he readjusted them. He looked out his window and saw nothing but a forest around, not only that, it stopped raining all of a sudden. The radio in the jeep was only picking up static.

Lee picked up his phone to call his parents to let them know what happened. He clicked on his phone app and tapped on his dad’s phone number. Unfortunately, it couldn’t connect to his dad’s phone. When he looked at the top left side of his phone, it said “no services.” He lowered his phone in his pocket and stepped out of his car with a flashlight he packed. He looked around to find the road, but couldn’t find it, all he found was a dirt path. He also notice the forest is a little brighter than it should be. He looked up and did not expect what he saw. Up in the skies was a full moon when it should be a crescent, not only that, he could see that there are plenty of stars in the sky, something you can’t see in Dallas.

“Great, first I almost get hit by lightning and now I’m lost in the middle of a forest, this doesn’t make any sense.” Lee said to himself. He couldn’t explain how he got there and why that lightning bolt didn’t fry his electronics. His hands were brought up to his head in a groan as he sat down on his jeep’s bumper. That’s when he realized something else was off. It was his right middle knuckle, he hurt it after an accident a couple months ago, yet now it’s like it never happened. Not only that, he could completely feel his chin, even though it should still be numb from his jaw surgery.

“Well, this night can’t get any weirder.” This was by far the strangest thing that has ever happened to the young man, and he has seen many strange things. He took another quick look around one last time until to figure out were to go. When he looked up, he saw a castle in the distance, about half a mile away from him. Lee went back into his jeep and put it in reverse to back away from the tree. He drove of to the castle slowly to avoid hitting something. It took about ten minutes to drive there. Lee shut off his radio after getting tired of listening to nothing but static.

He had to stop when he came to a draw bridge. Lee walked out of his car and headed to the bridge. He looked down the crevasse and couldn’t see the bottom, but he could tell it’s deep. With no other way, Lee went back to his car to grab some gear. He took his backpack and emptied his textbooks, laptop and folders. He filled it with his tonfas, a flashlight, and a few bottles of water. He took out his unscrewed bow stick and put them together in case of trouble. Lastly he took out his collapsable knife in his pocket. He locked his car and made his way across the wooden bridge. Lee had a problem with heights, but he didn’t let fear stop him from getting answers.

When he made it to the castle, it looked kinda familiar to him. The castle was in ruins, and it looked as if it had been like that for a long time to Lee, but he can’t shake the feeling that he’s seen it before. He walked up the staircase and opened the door, once he opened it, he knew what the castle was, he just couldn’t believe it. In front of him was a long room with doors on the sides and a staircase leading up in the back. What really shocked Lee were the tapestries in the back. One showed a humanoid white fur pony with wings on her back and a horn on her head with the sun over her. The other shows the same but with a dark purple fur pony and a moon instead of a sun.

Only one thing came to Lee’s head, he was in Equestria, or an anthro version of it at least. Equestria is a nation from the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He started watching the show mainly because he had nothing better to do, but he ended up liking the show and watched every episode. ‘I was wrong, it just got weirder’ Lee thought. He sat down against a wall to think how this could have happened to him. Maybe got into a accident on his way back to his apartment and this was a dream. He wanted it to be just that, but the castle was too realistic for his mind to come up with it. If that was the case, it would mean he will never be able to go home again. He pushed these thoughts aside and went back to his car. He was depressed, he may have ended up in a world where it’s paradise compared to his, but he had family to get back to, one he may never see again. On the bright side, his jaw was recently fixed so he didn’t have to worry about that. He made it to his jeep to decide what he should do next. His thoughts stopped when he heard screaming in the distance.
