Twilight was currently preening her wings at the friendship castle as it had been time to do it. She was never good at it as she always messed up and screamed in pain due to it so that was why she never did a very good job at it.
As Twilight tried to preen her wings in order to fix all of the feathers that were out of place. While she preened them however she was getting very frustrated by how bad she had been doing it and how painful it was. She was getting them worse and worse. She wanted to stop but decided not to in the end as she wanted to get her wings done.
While she did her wings Cadence came walking into her castle and saw Twilight having some trouble. She wanted to speak up but was afraid that Twilight would ignore her. Surprisingly to her however Twilight spoke.
"Hi "Cadence! You like to catch me at a bad time don't you? Look can you give me some privacy? If I don't deal with this now it will drive me crazy later on." Twilight said as she went back to cleaning her wings. Cadence frowned at that as she wanted to help Twilight.
"You seem to be having a lot of trouble there which I honestly don't understand. You should be able to do this perfectly by now and here you are struggling...I preen my wings all the time...I thought you would be good at it but...you aren't doing...so well are you?" Cadence guessed as she watched her. Twilight sighed as she knew that Cadence was pointing out the obvious.
"No I'm not I was hoping I could do it on my own but I obviously need help....could you do it for me?" Twilight asked. Cadence blushed as she knew that if she helped Twilight with her wings it would be very awkward. She never touched Twilight's wings before as it was a very inappropriate thing to do. She didn't want to help Twilight no matter how much Twilight was having trouble. She decided on what to do and spoke.
"Can't you do it yourself? Sorry but...family members don't work on each other's wings like that....its...like incest almost." Cadence said, Twilight rolled her eyes.
"Yeah I know....fine I'll pay somepony to do it." Twilight said as she left the castle.
Twilight knew that she couldn't go to any family members and ask them to help as it would be incest and she definitely couldn't ask Rainbow Dash as it is considered a sexual activity which would lead to Rainbow Dash freaking out. Fluttershy was to shy and innocent to help her either so she was out of the question to.
Twilight should have remembered how sexual wing preening was. It was so sexual in fact that pegasus fillies and pegasus colts were never allowed to get theirs preened. In order to fix the wing issue fillies and colts have a substance put on their wings to prevent the wings from getting into a bad shape until they were old enough to preen their own wings
Twilight then thought of going to any of the other princesses but knew that the result would be the same. She felt lost and was unsure of what to do. She knew that she couldn't skip wing care either because that would make her wings worse and she couldn't see her doing it herself as she was doing a horrible job.
Twilight tried to think of anypony else. She knew that Celestia would never do it for her either. so Celestia was out of the question as Celestia knew how sexual that act was. If she went to Celestia she would probably get a lecture about how having somepony preen her wings was very sexually orientated and would feel uncomfortable touching her former student that way.
Twilight realized there was one more pony to go to. One who would possibly do it herself or teach Twilight how to do it with some sort of spell. Twilight knew that if she kept doing them herself she would screw them up even more. Twilight decided to try and find a spell book or some sort of wing preening guide but couldn't find any. She then wondered if the magic from the elements could numb her wings so that they wouldn't hurt when she fixed them. She decided to try that. When she blasted herself with the elements however if backfired on her and just made them worse.
When she got up she put the elements back and groaned at her stupid mistake. Her wings were even worse now. Twilight then thought of one last idea she could use.
Twilight realized that their was one more creature that could help her. One who pretty much was knowledgable in pretty much everything. That was Zecora. She knew that Zecora would probably kick her out of her place for asking her to take care of her wings so she needed to be careful. She walked to Zecora's hut and knocked on the door. When she came face to face with her Twilight spoke.
"Look I know your going to refuse but can you help me preen my wings? If not is there anyway that I can do it in an easy way." Twilight asked. Zecora blushed.
"Not it be rude Twilight but what you ask me to do is very crude." Zecora ranted. Twilight rolled her eyes.
"I know that...I just...don't have anywhere else to have it done. I'm terrible at it. And if I don't fix them they will get worse and that will cause the feathers to fall out. Can you like give me a guide or some sort of softener to line them up into place?" Twilight asked.
Zecora frowned and went into her but to try and see what she could find, she soon came back out and told Twilight of her suggestion.
"I don't have any subjects on wing care but if you went to Ponyville about it I bet that Nurse Redheart is aware of wing care." Zecora said. Twilight narrowed her eyes.
"That was a terrible attempt at rhyming, try harder next time." Twilight said, before Zecora could respond Twilight walked away. When Twilight got to Ponyville hospital she went up to Nurse Redheart.
"Can I get somepony to clean my wings? I've tried asking everypony who knew about wing care that I knew to help me but they all refused. Twilight asked. Nurse Redheart blushed and gave her clipboard to sign up for an appointment.
Twilight filled it out and Nurse Redheart led her into a room and grabbed a medical book and handed it to Twilight.
"This is the only time that I will help you with this. From now on your going to learn to do it yourself. This is very sexual of you to ask me this but I'm letting you off the hook once. After this your going to do it yourself. If you come here again with this same request I will sue you for sexual harassment. Do you understand?" Nurse Redheart asked.
"Yes I do." Twilight said with a frown as she felt embarrassed for asking Nurse Redheart even if it would have been a bad idea. Twilight laid down and Nurse Redheart preened her wings for her with a disgusted look on her face. When she was all done she forced Twilight out of the room.
"Never ask me to do that again. Go figure out how to do it yourself sicko!" Nurse Redheart spat. Twilight sighed and bought a book on wing care and preening and learned how to do it herself and did her herself weeks after she had Nurse Redheart do it. She knew that she should of just gotten a guide before she went around asking ponies to do them for her. She took care of her wings from then on with out anymore trouble
