Finding Out About Something Surprising
Rarity was trotting over to where Coco Pommel was. She hadn't seen Coco Pommel in a year due to how busy she has been with her friends and she knew that Coco would want to see her. As she went over to knock on the door Coco approached her from behind.
Rarity didn't didn't know that Coco was behind her due to the fact that she was knocked on the door. After she didn't get any response she knocked again and wait. After a while of waiting she sighed and turned around only to see Coco standing behind her.
"Sorry Rarity I didn't mean to sneak up on you like this. I should have alerted you to my presence but I didn't and I don't know why." Coco said.
"That's alright, I just got your report in the mail about my boutique and I want to thank you for all your help that you are doing for Rarity For You. I appreciate it." Rarity mentioned. Coco blushed.
"No it's fine I'm just doing my job. It's nothing really." Coco said. Rarity smiled. Coco wondered why Rarity had come all the way here just to see her, she knew that it couldn't be over a simple report. She knew that their was an underlying reason.
"Why are you all the way out in Manehattan by the way? It's unusual to see you here except for that one time with that whole...Suri mess. Doesn't the princess need your help?" Coco asked as she was a bit put off by the way Rarity was all the way out in the city by herself. She wondered what Rarity's friends were thinking about Rarity at the moment.
"No she doesn't need me at the moment. I come to Manehattan from time to time so it shouldn't be unusual to see me here unless of coarse you never spot me the times that I'm around." Rarity explained. Coco nodded.
"Do you want to take a walk with me then since your here? Do you have time?" Coco asked.
"Of coarse I do! Where do you want to go?" Rarity asked. Coco shrugged as she kicked a pebble with her hoof.
"Nowhere specific really I just want walk while I to talk to you unless you want to crash at my place?" Coco said. Rarity rolled her eyes.
"Nopony says crash anymore Coco get with the time frame unless you speak slang. Fine we can go to your place." Rarity said with a sigh. Coco looked over to her with a surprised expression.
"Ponies don't say crashed anymore? Coco asked. Rarity shook her head no and Coco shrugged in acceptance.
"I didn't know, that word certainly died fast then." Coco said. Coco and Rarity soon made it to Coco's place and they went inside. Rarity looked around. She had to agree that Coco's place did look pretty nice.
"So you want to sit on my couch so we can snuggle?" Coco teased, Rarity made a disgusted face and Coco laughed.
"I'm only joking Rarity but go ahead and sit down its a nice couch." Coco said, Rarity took Coco's offer and sat down. She had to agree that it was very nice.
"Wow it is a nice couch. Where did you get such a nice couch?" Rarity asked, Coco looked at her friend in disbelief.
"Rarity it's a couch who cares." Coco said. Rarity was stunned by Coco's serous attitude about the couch.
"Coco relax it was a compliment You know? Rarity said. Coco shrugged as she looked at her hooves. They sat there in silence as they both thought to themselves. They both realized how they weren't doing anything by sitting there. Rarity spoke.
"I'm bored, we came all the way here just to sit? Can we listen to music?" Rarity asked. Coco laughed.
"Yeah sorry I don't have to many interests, most entertainment media is evil. I don't follow celebrity news or read porn or any of that crap." Coco said. Rarity looked at Coco in confusion.
"You don't like anything then?" Rarity asked. Coco shook her head.
"I still like plays and books and magazines. I love fashion I don't hate everything but only ones that don't have objectionable content like cursing and sex." Coco said. Rarity couldn't believe that she was seeing another side of Coco. She had no idea Coco was like this but even if she couldn't believe Coco was like this she respected Coco's point of view.
"Well even though I disagree with your point of view I will still be your great friend and I love you." Rarity said. Coco smiled and hugged Rarity.
"Thanks Rarity! Your the best." She said, they both continued the hug and they they stopped and Rarity spoke.
"Do you want to read a book or go see a play then? One that you approve of?" Rarity asked. Coco smiled and stood up.
"Sure we can, you have no idea how many options we have in Manehattan. Which theater do you want to go to?" Coco asked.
Well is there any theater that's doing that biography play about Twilight's life and how she met you and the rest of her friends...I know that your probably not interested but I've been wanting to see it for a while now." Rarity said with shyness in her voice. Coco's face lit up.
"Sure! I would love to see that. Twilight is so cute!" Coco exclaimed. Rarity chuckled.
"Good I'm glad we can go see it now." Rarity said. Coco jumped off the couch and spoke excitedly.
"Will it mention the elements of harmony!? I love everything about that magic!" Coco explained. Rarity shook her head yes.
"It sure does, the play will mention the elements of harmony. It also mentions Twilight's role as princess and her work with foreign nations and how she defeated Nightmare Moon. It also talks about her friends and me a lot." Rarity said.
"Oooh lets go! Let's go!" Coco said making Rarity laughed.
"Sure come on I'll get some popcorn for the movie." Rarity said. They both left to go to the theater. When they paid for the ticket and got some sweets Coco mentioned something.
"Rarity....there's something I have to tell you..." Coco said. Rarity stopped and turned around and spoke.
"Yeah?" Rarity asked her friend. Coco became shy as she bit her lip and looked down at the floor.
"Forget it...ill tell you later." Coco said softly. Rarity examined Coco's behavior.
"Is something upsetting you? We don't have to go to the movie if you don't feel like it. I can give our tickets back." Rarity said. Coco shook her head.
"I'll tell you after the play. Let's just go in and take our seats." Coco said. Rarity stared at her with concern but continued to walk to the theater with a feeling of a concern for Coco. She had no idea why Coco was suddenly sad. It made no sense to her.
Before she can think about it further the play was on. Both were able to enjoy the movie especially Coco even if Coco was filled with worry and anxiousness over what she had been trying to tell Rarity before the play started. When the play finished and they got home they both sat down. Coco turned to look at Rarity and Rarity spoke.
"You said that there was something you wanted to tell me before the movie but you refused. What were you trying to tell me Coco? I'll understand if you don't tell me but I just want you to know that I won't hate you for whatever you tell me about yourself." Rarity assured.
"Alright I'll tell you. The thing I was trying to mention had something to do with my rant about the media earlier before..." Coco said as she hesitated.
"I'm....I'm a...I'm a...." Coco hesitated. Rarity put a hoof on Coco's shoulder as Coco tried to speak.
"It's alright Coco I'll continue to accept your support for my boutique and anything you do for me. I'll continue to hang out with you as well, so just say it if you want." Rarity encourage. Coco knew that Rarity was telling the truth but she was still nervous but finally she was able to get it out. Coco looked at the floor for a few seconds and then looked back up at Rarity.
"I'm a Jehovah's Witness..." Coco said with shame. Rarity was shocked by this admission, the idea of Coco being a JW was very strange and unbelievable. She couldn't see the quiet mare going around passing out literature at doorsteps.
"I...had no idea...I thought you were an atheist or something?" Rarity asked. Coco laughed.
"No way! We are all made from intelligent design, Jehovah's word is truth!" Coco said.
"Do you harass ponies with literature then...you don't have to answer that if you don't want to..." Rarity asked, Coco sighed.
"We're all supposed to witness to all sorts of creatures. It's not like what you think. If ponies refuse to hear about it I stop after a few seconds and I leave them alone. Im different from other JW's because other JW's continue for minutes on end if they are refused but not me." Coco said.
"Wow I've never heard of one like that...are you going to witness to me though...I don't like the religion at all." Rarity explained. Coco nodded.
"No I'm not going to witness to you or convert you or anything like that. I'll still be your friend and I'll still hang out with you even if you don't agree with me. Will you do the same?" Coco asked. Rarity wrapped Coco up in a hug and spoke softly.
"Of coarse I'll still hang out with you. As much as I disagree with your religion and its practices I'll never turn my back on you." Rarity said. Coco smiled.
"Thank you Rarity I truly appreciate that." Coco said. They both broke away from the hug and hung out for a few more minutes and then Rarity told Coco she would see her again.
"I'll see you again later Coco. When I have the time I'll visit you." Rarity said. Coco nodded. As Rarity left Coco spoke.
"I'll see you later." Coco said. Rarity smiled and closed the door. Coco was so happy that she didn't drive Rarity away with her confession. As Rarity walked home she thought about what Coco said to her. As much as the confession was shocking it didn't change anything about how Rarity felt about Coco. She would be Coco's friend no matter what Coco told her.
