//-------------------------------------------------------// [New Game +] (Shinobi Route) -by Samedi of the Spore- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Waking up, and WHAT THE F- //-------------------------------------------------------// Waking up, and WHAT THE F- Honestly, if you had asked me what I expected from life a year ago, I'd have said sports, Daring Do, and not dying 'til I'm older than dirt. If you had asked me last month, I'd have answered with hanging with my friends, saving the world from magical bad guys. and going big as a band. Keep in mind that nowhere in that frame of time did I ever say I expected... this. As on a normal Saturday, I woke up at ten in the morning, and opened my eyes to see what for the life of me looked suspiciously like a text box out of a role-playing game. "Eh?" I asked, thoroughly confused. Was I still dreaming, or was the pizza I ate last night laced with something, because there's no other way I'd be seeing this. Naturally, I tried to swipe the thing away, but my hand went right through it. Amazingly, it felt... warm. Now even more confused, I decided to actually read what it said. Welcome, player Rainbow Dash, to The Game. [Player: Rainbow Dash] Level 1 [HP: 300/300] [MP: 250/250] [Title:] Gamer [Stats:] Str: 15 Def: 14 Dex: 14 Agi: 16 Int: 10 Wis: 9 Cha: 14 Lck: 15 [Perks:] Gamer's Body: Your body is that of a video game character, allowing use of the menu screens and stat points. (Passive. Level: MAX) Gamer's Mind: Your mind is hardwired to keep calm, even in the worst situations, preventing status effects like confusion and insanity. (Passive. Level: MAX) Athletics: Years of athletic training make your Str, Def, Agi, and Dex all grow faster. (Passive. Level: MAX) [You have not selected a character class. Would you like to do so?] [Yes] [No] 'Well, I suppose I've got nothin' to lose anyway.' I thought to myself. I reached out to press my hand against the button to accept, focusing on the warm feeling from before, and laid my hand on the button. Immediately, warmth flooded me and I saw a bright flash. When my vision cleared up, I was standing in what looked like Spear Pillar from Pokemon Platinum (Hey, I may be an athlete, but Pokemon is life), and there were statues of... me? But they weren't me, if that actually makes any sense at all. There were six in all, and each one showed a different me. Curious, I walked up to one and read the plaque on the base of it. The Sorcerer: A magic-wielder of old, channeling the forces of the arcane. I passed that one up. I like role-playing games, don't get me wrong. However, I never could play mages. Living my life as one just wouldn't really be something I'd want to do, y'know? I checked the other statues for what they were, and each had their potential ups and downs. There was the Sorcercer, the Shinobi, the Sniper (which would have been cool, except that had a bow, and I suck at archery), the Healer, the Warrior, and the Shinigami. 'Sorcerer and Healer both use magic, so that's out. Shinigami sounds sweet, but I'd like to experiment a little before immediately going that route. I guess Shinobi sounds pretty rad.' Descision made, I walked back up to the Shinobi statue, and examined the plaque again, this time touching it. The Shinobi: A warrior of the Elemental Nations, masters of the arts of stealth, combat, and subterfuge. They wield weapons, chakra, and their own bodies to take down foes. Is this the path you seek? [Yes] [No] I pressed Yes, and was surrounded by another flash of light. When I could see again, I was back in my room, but now my outfit was different. I wore black cargo pants, royal blue armoured sandals, and the top half of a black karate gi over a long-sleeved mesh undershirt. Attached to my hip by a belt were two pouches that, upon opening, revealed several kunai and shuriken. Looking in the mirror, I noticed my hair was is a ponytail (snerk), and that a royal blue headband was on my forehead. On the headband was a metal plate engraved a symbol that looked like a leaf with a spiral in the center of it. "Heh. Looks like I'm twenty percent cooler!" Suddenly, a new text box appeared. Congratulations! Due to becoming a Shinobi, you have learnt new skills! [New Skills:] Kenjutsu (Level 1): The art of weapon-based combat. Leveling this skill grants +5% Total Attack Damage and +5% Total Attack Speed. Shurikenjutsu (Level 1): The art of thrown weapons, such as shuriken, kunai, and senbon. Iryojutsu (Level 1): The art of healing. Leveling this skill grants +5% Total Healing Effectiveness and -5% Chakra Consumption. "Sweet! All of these sound so awesome!" I cheered, jumping for joy. The ability to make scrolls that can hold all my school books or paper tags that act like bombs? The ability to weave illusions? So. Freaking. AWESOME! Just then, my alarm went off, and I immediately followed my instinct and threw open my window, and jumped outside. Now, I know that sounds really bad, especially since I live in a two-story house, and my room is a converted attic, but I landed on a tree branch, and immediately hopped down and began running faster than I ever have towards school. "WOOHOO! YEAH!" I shouted, blurring past trees, cars, and houses like I was flying. I finally stopped right outside of Canterlot High's campus, and walked the rest of the way to the door, where I could see the rest of the girls waiting for me. "Hey guys!" I shouted, gaining their attention. "Dashie!" Pinkie cried, lunging forward in an attempt to glomp me. Suddenly, I darted out of the way, causing Pinkie to completely miss me, despite the fact I'd never done so before. 'Is this because of my new skills?' I wondered, unsure of how it was even possible to dodge a high-speed Pinkie Glomp. Clearly, the other girls were shocked as well, with Sunset and Sci-Twi both looking like their brains couldn't comprehend what just happened. Actually, I'm pretty sure I couldn't comprehend it. "Dashie...?" Pinkie asked slowly, eyes wide as she rolled onto her back. "How did you do that?" "I honestly don't know, Pinks. It's like I was movin' without actually trying to. Kinda like how you can't help but grab a cupcake off a free snack table." I answered, shrugging my shoulders. Any further questioning was held off by the bell, and we walked to our first classes of the day, and I was hoping that Gamer's Mind would help with History. Author's Note Yes, yes. Before the swarm of comments ass-blasting me about this being 'yet another trash gamer fanfiction', hear me out. One, every single one I've found is either Twilight becomes the Gamer, or the Gamer comes to Equestria. I decided 'Hey, Yuki. Why not Rainbow Dash? Heck, why not Equestria Girls Rainbow Dash?' and my brain went 'Well, okay. What powers should we give her?' and I replied 'Well, we like Naruto, so why not make her a shinobi?' and my brain replied 'But you write Bleach fanfiction, Yuki.' so I said 'I'll make two mirroring stories, and this one will have shinobi, and the other will have Shinigami.' Then I realized I just had a serious discussion with my own brain, and it nearly won.
