This story was heavily inspired by the manga 'The Rise of the Shield Hero'

He never wanted to fight, but that wasn't a choice he had in the matter.
All he ever wanted was the freedom to leave all that behind, and live a life he could call his own. We can't always get what we want, but he wouldn't let the others keep casting the dice for him now.
