Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship & the bearer of the Element of Magic, was busy going through the books that were available in the library of the old castle of the Royal Sisters. She was particularly interested in reading through the History Section of the library.

As she was reading, she stumbled upon a book whose pages are torn off. “Aw, this can't happen! This just can't finish like this. There must be another book!”

She kept on searching the entire library, but to no avail. “What do I do? I must find out more!”

She thought & thought but no ideas struck her. She looked up & saw that the sun had already set. The moon was high in the sky surrounded by stars which glowed bright.

“Oh dear! I must rush home or else everyone are going to be worried!” Twilight said before taking to the sky, with the book tucked under her forehoof.

Spike was outside, waiting for Twilight. Starlight spotted Spike out & went near him. “Hey Spike. What's wrong? You are out here all by yourself.”

“Oh, it's nothing. Just waiting for Twilight to get home. She's really late today.”

“Oh right! I was wondering where she was, but then that thought just slipped out of mind!”

At that moment, Twilight gracefully landed before them. “Hello there! Sorry I'm late Spike. I was so caught up in reading that I had forgotten to check the time.”

“No worries, Twilight. Let's have some food. I’m starving!” Spike said, as his stomach growled in hunger. The girls just giggled to themselves before joining Spike in.

After dinner, Twilight spent her time in her Library, trying to find at least a similar book or a clue to which she could get the book from. Starlight, on her way to her room, spotted Twilight in the Library.

“Hey Twilight. What are you doing? Aren't you going to bed?” Starlight asked.

“Oh Starlight! I was just going through my Library, searching for something related to the book I’ve brought.” Twilight said, showing her student the book she brought from the old castle.

“Let me have a look. Maybe I can find it.” Starlight says as she takes the book into her hooves. “I’ve never read this book. At least not in your library. This must be waaay old!”

“Of course, obviously!”

“I don't think you’ll find anything in your library. Something like this might be in some big libraries. Like the one in Crystal Empire or the one in Canterlot.”

“Oh right! Of course! Why didn't I think of this before?”

“Uhh, ‘cuz you're too stressed out or something…”

“I guess you're right. I did read a lot of books lately & didn't give importance to my sleep duration.”

“Hmmm. You know what? Have a good night's sleep today & you can go to Canterlot tomorrow with a fresh mind.”

“You're right. Thank you Starlight. I’ll be turning in. Goodnight!”

“Goodnight Twilight.” Starlight said as she yawned & made her way to her room.

Next day morning, Twilight had an early breakfast. She packed her saddlebag with all the necessary items such as a scroll, ink etc. Spike also helped Twilight in the rush. Finally, Twilight was ready to go to Canterlot.

“Uhh, Twilight? Can I uh, join you?” Spike asked, nervously.

“Well, I don’t know, Spike. Don’t you have work to do? Also, you & Starlight are supposed to be managing the Friendship School while I’m gone, right?” Twilight replied.

“Well, I uh, wanted to join you. It’s been so long since we’ve done book hunting together. I was just missing those days.”

“Oh Spike, I understand. But if you’re free, you could come.”

“Can I ask Starlight if she can manage the School on her own?”

“Uh, okay then. But do it fast! I’ll be late if it’ll take long!”

“Okay!” Spike said as he flew quickly to where Starlight was.

“Starlight!”

“Woah! Spike, you scared me!” Starlight said, who was obviously not expecting Spike.

“Sorry. I just had to ask something.”

“What is it, Spike?”

“Can you manage the Friendship School without me?”

“Why? You’re going somewhere?”

“Yeah, I’m going with Twilight to Canterlot. She said I could come if I don’t have any work here.”

“Well, I don’t know Spike. Are the girls staying here?”

“Yeah, I guess. Until another map quest doesn’t summon them…”

“Oh, all right Spike. You can go with Twilight. But be back soon! I had a hard time the last time I had to be the Headmare…”

“Thanks Starlight! Bye!

“Bye!”

And off Spike went, happily to join Twilight. They then took off to Canterlot. While flying there, Spike asked “So, where are we gonna search for the book?”

“Well, we’re gonna have to pay the Princesses a visit before searching the book.”

“Why so?”

“Because we’re gonna search the restricted section of the Canterlot Library.”

“We are?!”

“Yeah… I had the same expression when I had to help Sunset Shimmer with the Memory Stone. Oh, those books! I have to search through that hidden knowledge! This is great!”

Finally, they reached the entrance of the Royal Canterlot Castle. The guards stationed there immediately bowed to Twilight & cleared the way for her. Spike always found this strange but then he got used to it. They walked towards the Courtroom. Twilight inhaled & then used her magic to open the big double doors of the above mentioned room.

Princess Celestia, alongside Princess Luna were sitting on their thrones. Regal & graceful as always. Twilight & Spike bowed before attempting to speak.

“Hello Princess Twilight. How may we assist you?” Princess Luna asked.

“Hello Princesses. I’m here because I need your help. You see, I found this book in your old castle but some of the pages are torn. So I wondering if you could, you know, let me check the restricted section of the Canterlot Library?” Twilight asked.

“Hmmm, what do you say, dear sister?” Princess Celestia asks her sister.

“I think we should sister. After all, she is one of us now. It is only fair that she knows about the things we do. With time, of course.” Princess Luna answered.

“Alright Twilight, we will take up on your request. Let’s go.” Princess Celestia said as she stood up from her throne & made her way down, towards Canterlot Library, followed by her sister & her student with Spike.

They reached the Canterlot Library & made their way to the corner, to the restricted section. Princess Celestia & Princess Luna pull two books with their magic & the door to the unknown place opens. They make their way & open the door, behind which were the books that Twilight so wanted to read.

“There you go, Twilight. We have important work to do. So, we are leaving you in charge of making sure that nopony gets in. Okay?” Princess Celestia asked.

“You can count on me & Spike to make sure of that, Princesses!” Twilight replied, enthusiastically.

“Very well. We shall go now. Goodbye Twilight.” Princess Luna said as she & her sister made their way out.

“Oh Spike, can you believe it?! We get to search through these books! The books that ponies don’t even know exist! This is goood!” Twilight said, taking in the scent of books.

“Woah, Twilight. Calm down. We’re here to search for the book you wanted. Let’s search for that & then you can soak up on all that goodness…” Spike said with a chuckle.

And off they were, searching through every nook & corner of the ancient library. Twilight collected few books to take with her to read at home. She searched for that book of hers but didn’t find it. Spike was idly searching through the library. He then stumbled on a book.

“Uh, Twilight! I found something!” Spike called out.

Twilight rushed to Spike & asked “What is it? Did you find it? Did you find it?”

“Uh, I don’t know. The title of the book says ‘The Journal of the Two Sisters’. I don’t know if this is related to what you’re searching for.”

“Journal of the Two Sisters, you say? Well, I want to read it. Who knows, maybe I can get my answers in here?”

“I don’t know Twilight. This belongs to Celestia & Luna. Don’t you think we should ask them before reading it?”

“Don’t worry Spike, I’m sure they won’t mind. After all, they did allow me to search through this restricted section. Let’s read it together, Spike.”

“Okay then.”

Twilight & Spike settled down & opened the book. The book that may uncover thousands of secrets Equestria doesn’t know about.

“The Journal Of The Two Sisters, written by Celestia & Luna…”

Hey Everypony!

I’m here with a new story! This was going in my head & I knew I had to write it down! Don’t worry, this story is not similar to the ongoing story of mine & neither will this obstruct the time for the other series. Whenever I’m tired of writing in Descendants, I’ll continue this story. Hope you all like the Prologue. Keep your eyes peeled for the start of the Journal!
