The Truth Of The Royal Pet Dragons

"Twilight! Twilight where is Spike!?" Rainbow Dash yelled as she flew into the Friendship castle; followed by a confused Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy.

Hearing Rainbow Dash calling; Starlight and Twilight came rushing down stairs to see what was going on.

"Rainbow Dash calm down. Spike isn’t here. He when to Canterlot to help the princesses with some royal business.” replied Twilight when she reached the bottom of the stairs.

"Why are you all looking for him anyway?" Asked Starlight.

"I have no idea,” stated Pinkie. “Rainbow Dash just gathered us all up and said we needed to find Spike right now."

"That’s because he has to see what I found in Dream Valley!" Rainbow Dash yelled.

"Dream Valley?” questioned Rarity. “That place you went to on your wonderbolt tour?"

Rainbow nodded. "Ya! After the show I decide to see if there bookstore’s had any of the new Daring Do books and when I was looking I found this!" Rainbow Dash said as she pulled out a book from her satchel and handed it to Twilight.

Twilight took the book and noticed that the cover had a picture of a dragon that looked surprisingly similar to Spike. "The Truth Of The Royal Pet Dragons?" Twilight said as she read the cover.

Rainbow nodded. "It’s all about a type of dragon that looks and sounds a lot like Spike, just read it and see for yourself."

More than a little curious Twilight opened the book and begin to read out loud. " Long ago before Equestria was founded there was a small pony kingdom called Dream Valley that was ruled over by a powerful unicorn queen name Majesty. Queen Majesty believed that the only way to keep ponies safe from the many dangers of the world was to create superior mares by inter-breeding them with already strong races to rule over them. For this reason she chose dragons as the perfect interbreeding species owing to their long life, fierce strength and durability, and breeding ability. As one of the dragon’s key abilities for survival is there ability to breed with non-dragon races. The offspring can be full dragons with some features of their non-dragon parent, a half-dragon that combine features of both parents, or a full member of their non-dragon parents race with features and some of the abilities of a dragon."

Rarity raised an eyebrow in confusion. "I don't understand, what does any of this have to do with our Spikey-Wikey?"

"Keep reading and you're find out," said Rainbow Dash.

"Realizing that the powerful race of dragons were the key to creating her powerful rulers, Queen Majesty stole several newly laid dragon eggs .However, Queen Majesty realize that while dragons were the key to create the bloodlines she wanted, she also knew that normal dragons wasn't enough to create these bloodlines. So using powerful magic she alter the eggs!"" Twilight said

Fluttershy held her hooves to her mouth. Shocked that anypony would use magic on an unborn creature like that. "Altered the dragon eggs?!” How and in what ways?!"

"I'm getting to that. While the spells used are unknown the effect was to make the baby dragons docile and subservient to ponies. For this reason they became known as royal pet dragons.”

Fluttershy held her hooves to her mouth. “That sounds horrible. Using magic to alter a creatures mind like that.”

"There is more, just keep reading," said Rainbow Dash

Twilight nodded and returned to the book. “In addition the altered dragons were born with plantigrade legs instead of the normal digitigrade legs of dragons." Twilight said

"Pant a grade legs? Digi legs?" What are those?" Pinkie ask

"Plantigrade legs are legs that walk with their feet flat on the ground, you know like Spike's legs. While digitigrade legs mean legs that walk on their toes, like...Ember. What else does else does this say about these altered dragons? Lets see, these dragons also had smoother features than normal dragons." Twilight said as she looked up.

"That sounds just like our Spike, " said Fluttershy.

"Wait we have seen other dragons with legs and even some smooth features like our precious Spikey-Wikey and they don't act like him." Rarity said

"And why have we never heard of these dragons before?" Pinkie ask

"Lets see, it also that ,oh my, that in order to make these dragons more appealing she made sure they had great sexual talent and two large twin penis."

Starlight blushed. "I’ve walked in enough times on Spike to know that’s definitely him."

Twilight raised an eyebrow. Making a mental note to talk to Starlight about knocking before entering a room then went back to reading aloud. "After her first seven dragons grew old enough she breed them strongest warriors, most powerful wizards, and smartest scholar mares, including herself, in the kingdom to create her bloodlines. This resulted in many fillies who though appearing to be 100% pony possed increased physical powers and magical abilities. The drakes that were born of these unions were kept by the Queen to be raised as future breeding dragons as that she believed these drakes or any males shouldn't hold positions of power and authority." Twilight said

"So she called them royal pet dragons because she didn't believe stallions were equal to mares? Wow the past was really screwed up." Starlight added.

“As the amount of breeding dragons grew the Queen began to send them to other pony kingdoms to expand the population of her new race. Eventually the details of Queen’s use of dragons as breeding pet’s reached the Dragon Lands.”

"What did the other dragons do when they heard of this?" Fluttershy ask

"It said that the dragon's demand that all the royal pet dragons and their eggs be turned over to them at once as they would not allow their kind to be used as breeding slaves. Fearing war the kingdoms that traded with Dream Valley did as was demanded. Without aid from the other kingdoms Queen Majesty did was was requested rather the risk the destruction of her still small kingdom. It is said that in the day’s before the surrender and trade she had all her royal pet dragons breed as many mares as possible in the hopes to getting as many mares as she could before she had to turn them over. After that the royal pet dragons interbred with normal dragons. Which is why it is possible to find modern dragons who possess plantigrade legs and smooth features." Twilight said

The room got very quiet as the seven mares just look at one another. “Twilight darling is it possible that our Spikey-Wikey could be one of these royal pet dragons?" Rarity asked.

Twilight considered the question as she wracked her brain for all she knew. “I suppose it is possible. From what I know of ancient Equestria history Dream Valley was said to be a very small Kingdom in Equestria but was the home to some of the most power powerful ponies in Equestria’s history. Some say that’s where Celestia and Luna were born, though there are no records to prove it. ”

"But those dragons don't exist anymore, it said that they interbred with normal dragons." Fluttershy added

Twilight rubbed her chin in though. "Dragon eggs can exist for a very long time until something or some creature causes them to hatch and I while I have never heard of an egg taking that long to hatch I guess it could be possible. Celestia never told me where she got Spike’s egg, but she did say she had it for a very long time. It could be possible that Spike's egg was one of the eggs that was not give up." Twilight said

"Do the princesses know about this?" Rainbow Dash asked.
