Rainbow Dash Writes Fanfiction
Rainbow Dash was having her normal break during an average day in Ponyville. For her, this is the life. A soft cloud to lay on, some sweet juice to drink, and a book of the adventures of Daring Do to read. She was on the last chapter. Daring Do had to escape from the evil serpent from his death stroke in the pit of death. She was starting to suffocate, but when she saw that sand was falling from above the pit, she gathered some with her free wing and threw it directly into the serpent's eye, causing him to lose his grip. She then runs towards the artifact and flies out of the pit in safety! It ended with her on a train, eyeing the prize she had just won, and takes a well deserved rest for the way back.
"Yes! Wohoo, go Daring Do!" Cheered Rainbow Dash, "Done with another great book."
She looks to her watch, "Well, I still got an half an hour for my break, so might as well pick up the next book."
She dashed immediately to the Ponyville library and entered abruptly, "Yo Twilight, I need the next Daring Do book!"
Twilight was studying upstairs when she heard her, "Hold on I'll be down in a minute."
"Well can you hurry up? I have to get back to work soon. In like... 29 minutes. I could be wasting time, Twilight!"
Twilight in annoyance came downstairs to Rainbow Dash, "Well here, let me just check your book in first." She used her magic to gravitate to book to her when she noticed somethind.
"Ugh, what is it Twi?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Well, it's just that this is the 6th book in the series."
"And?"
"Rainbow, there's only 6 books published now."
"Wait," Rainbow Dash immediately becomes concerned, "Does that mean-"
"Yep, sorry Rainbow, you've read all of them."
"What!? Are you're sure they're not anymore? Like you haven't kept track of them, or they're in library's hidden inventory or-"
"Look, I'm sorry, but I keep track of all the latest books, and so far the 7th Daring Do hasn't popped out yet."
Rainbow Dash pouts.
"But," Twilight continues, "The author usually publishes a book every two years, and the last one has been published longer ago than that, so the next book should be announced very soon, probably around 1 or 2 months from now."
"But I don't want to wait 2 months, I want to read the next one now!"
"Well, then you'll just have to wait."
"UGH! Fine. Now I can't waste time."
Rainbow Dash exits the library and heads straight into the clouds. She was about to clear the sky when she sees a familiar face.
"Ugh, what do you want Derpy?"
Derpy appears from below her with her bag of mail, "Oh hi, Rainbow Dash," She says with her cute but slurred voice, "I'd just like to give you your mail."
"Oh really?" RD exclaims, "Cool, what'd I get?"
"You get," Derpy looks through her bag, "A copy of the latest Daring Do magazine!"
Rainbow snatches the magazine from Derpy, "Yes! Perfect timing, maybe they'll announce the new book in here!"
Rainbow Dash became so excited looking through the pages she started to speak gibberish, leaving Derpy confused, "Um, Rainbow Dash? Are you...?" She notices RD still going nuts through the magazine, "Umm, okay I'm going to leave you now."
Derpy leaves and Rainbow comes closer to the final page, "Okay, last page, please announce the new book!" She slowly flips the last page and... it's an ad for the Wonderbolts. It quotes: "Dream big, and you could be one of us!"
Rainbow Dash becomes furious and yells constant nonsense that can be heard from the ground below.
"What am I going to do now?" Cried Rainbow, "How am I going to live knowing I can't read the next Daring Do yet?"
As she was whimpering she decides to flip through the pages of the magazine, hoping she might've missed the announcement. Instead, she sees a new article she never noticed. She reads it aloud, "Daring Do fan works: Have you ever wanted to tell your own story of Daring Do? Submit your adventures of Daring Do to us, and you'll be featured in the official Daring Do magazine."
Rainbow Dash has just had a revelation, "Write my own stories? That's a great idea!" She was about to dash back to the library but then she began to think more about it, "Wait, why would I, the upcoming star athlete in Equestria, write fanfiction? That's just geeky!"
She then, for now, decided not to write it, and cleared the sky as fast as she could. After she was done, she had an idea, "Well, I do really want to write a story and get it featured," Rainbow pondered, "Wait, I have an idea! I'll make up a pen-name! Then no one will know it was me!" After that she dashed straight back to the library.
"Twilight!" Yelled Rainbow Dash.
"What is it now Rainbow?" asked Twilight, now writing on her desk.
"I need to borrow a few pieces of paper and a quill!"
"Wait what?"
"Please I need them now!"
"Rainbow Dash, are you saying you're actually going to write something?"
"What? NO! I'm just, getting them for a friend is all!"
Twilight chuckles, "Don't worry Rainbow Dash! I'm proud of you that you're finally going to show off your literary style."
"Yeah, fine whatever, can I have the stuff?"
"Sure," She magically passes Rainbow a stack of paper and a quill, "If you want you can write in here, since it's so windy outside and the papers can be blown away."
"Um, okay, I guess thats a good idea. But no snooping on my work!" Commanded Rainbow.
"Don't worry, I won't peek, now go on, let out that style!"
Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes at Twilight's comment and found the nearest desk to write on.
"Okay, paper, check. Quill, check. Now... what name should I choose to go under?" Rainbow thought for a while for name that is still like her, but not obvious, "Oh I know! Rainbomb Smash! Now... what to write about? Meh, I'll think of it as I go."
The next few hours RD was working on her new Daring Do story. From what she wrote along the way, it's about Daring Do and her next adventure in the Mysterious Castle in the Sky. She has to fly up and find the Wing Medallion before the evil Dr. A. Griffon finds it for his own evil deeds.
At long last, it was finally finished. Rainbow Dash's first masterpiece. It was already dark outside, so all she needed to do was get this to the post and head back home. "Hey Twilight, you got any envelopes?"
Instead of Twilight, Spike popped up and replied, "Twilight left when you were writing, but we've got some envelopes and stamps if you need them."
"Thanks Spike, where are they?"
"The drawer to the left in your desk."
RD immediately got the envelopes, packed and shipped the story to the post office as fast as she could. She can now finally get a good night's rest.
It's been 4 weeks now, and Rainbow Dash hasn't gotten the next magazine yet. She became almost enraged with impatience. But when she visited Twilight again to ask her a question on aerodynamics, she found a shocking discovery.
Rainbow enters the library, "Hey Twilight. Do you know anything about Aerodynamics?" She looks around for Twilight, until she saw her upstairs again, reading a copy of... Daring Do magazine.
"Um yeah," Twilight replies politely, "Why do want to know?"
Rainbow dashes upstairs to Twilight, "Twilight... You read Daring Do magazine?"
"Well, yeah, of course I do Dashie! The post very interesting articles here about the book, the author, and real life artifacts!"
Rainbow didn't care about a word she just said, she was about to explode with fear.
"But what really interest me is the new... Rainbow, are you o-" Twilight saw Rainbow Dash disappear before her eyes.
NO NO NO NO NO, Rainbow thought to herself, I didn't know one of my friends was going to read it! Even under a pen name Twilight could tell that's my writing! She'll read it and tell everypony that I'm a geek! I've got to get my story back before the magazine publishes it!
She dashes straight into the post office, trying to find find the nearest mail pony. She finds ones walking by, and drags him to her, "Hey, I gave the office a letter 4 weeks ago I need to know if you've sent it yet!"
The mail pony looks confused, "Well, of course, if it was 4 weeks ago. We always ship next day!"
Rainbow growled in anger and dashed back outside. She thinks to herself, Where was the magazine publishing place again? It was... It was... Hoofville!
She dashed to Hoofville as fast as she could, taking around a 30 minute trip. When she finally got there, she saw a medium sized publishing station is the city.
"Ha, there it is!" Exclaimed RD. She dashed inside, and galloped straight to the secretary.
"Ma'am?" asked RD, "Does the Daring Do magazine publish here?"
"Yes," said the secretary uninterestingly, "They're pressing right now, why?"
"What!? I need you to tell them to stop printing as soon as possible! My whole reputation is at stake!"
"Well, look, I'm sorry but I, nor you, have the power to stop the presses."
"But can't you at least ask?"
"Look kid, unless you can pay for the magazines we would have to waste, get out of here and-"
"Wait, I'll pay you! How much we talking?"
"We started printing about 5 hours ago so..." The secretary calculated the cost in her head, "$1500."
"What!? I don't have that kind of money!"
"Well, then get out of here kid or I'll call security!"
"Please! Just do it for me, PLEASE!"
"I don't even know who the heck you are, LEAVE!"
"UGH! Fine!" Rainbow dashed all the way back to Ponyville. By the time she got there, she was already exhausted. All she could do now was go back home and rest the frustration off.
Now I'll be the laughing stock across all of Equestria!, She thought to herself, Rainbow Dash, the rising athlete star, is nothing but a good for nothing geek who writes fanfiction.
When Rainbow Dash fell asleep, she had a nightmare about everypony pointing and laughing at her, Twilight especially. The mockers started to grow in size, to the point where they can trample her with their hooves. That's when Rainbow Dash woke up.
"No," Rainbow said to herself, "I will not let that happen!"
Rainbow for the next two days sneaked into Twilight's mailbox to see if the magazine shipped to her yet. It wasn't until the third day when she checked, there was no mail at all! Rainbow thought the magazine wasn't sent yet and Twilight might've just picked up the mail without it, until Derpy appeared in front of her.
"Oh hai Rainbow Dash," greeted Derpy, "I haven't seen you in a while, so you missed this one letter which was sent a week ago. Plus, your next Daring Do magazine arrived today! Don't go crazy this time though."
Derpy waited for Rainbow Dash to take the magazine, but RD was in paralyzed in shock, and instead asked, "Derpy, did you perhaps send this magazine to this library?"
"Why yes! I was here an hour ago but came back and-" Rainbow dashed and disappeared again, making Derpy spin out of control, and went straight inside the library.
"Twilight, it's not what you think!" yelled RD.
"What is it Rainbow?" Rainbow took that as though Twilight hasn't read her story yet, but she saw the magazine in her hooves. She immediately dashed and snatched the magazine from her.
"Hey what gives?" Complained Twilight.
Rainbow ripped the magazine into shreds.
"Rainbow Dash what are you doing?!"
Rainbow felt proud of herself, "Doesn't matter Twi, I've just fixed the problem!" She starts to walk out the library, then Derpy opened the door violently, flattening Rainbow Dash between the wall and the door. Derpy was still dizzy from Rainbow Dash spinning her.
"R-r-r Rainbow, Dash," forced out Derpy, "You-ou-ou forgot your-r-r mail!" Derpy then collapsed to the floor, dropping Rainbow's letter and magazine in front of Twilight.
Rainbow Dash finally inflated, got up, and picked up her mail, "Well, sorry Twi, gotta go!"
"Wait!" yelled Twilight.
"Yes?"
"Did you send a story to the Daring Do magazine?"
"WHAT?! But, but, but I- How'd you know?"
"Rainbow I was writing a story too, the same day you wanted to write. I have no idea why I didn't guess that then, but at least now it's clear. Plus, I know because last week I got a letter that looks just like yours-"
"Wait, stop messing around!" Rainbow interrupted, "Did you read the magazine or not!?"
"Of course I did!"
Rainbow Dash started to hold on to Twilight's hooves, "You read my story didn't you?! Please Twilight, don't tell anypony, I'll do anything! I'll give you a massage or something just don't tell anypony!"
"Rainbow Dash!"
"What?!"
"Your story's not in the magazine!"
"... What?"
"Whatever your story was, there was only one story posted, and it was mine."
"...T-t-they didn't take mine?"
"Give me your letter." RD hoofed her the letter. Twilight pulled out Rainbow's story from the envelope, and began to read the actual message, "Dear Rainbow Dash, We would like to thank you for submitting your story to our Fan stories article, but we should've informed you and all of our readers on some rules before submitting."
Rainbow Dash began to whimper, but Twilight continued, "First we have to point out your constant spelling and grammar mistakes, which make your story almost unreadable. Second, there is a point in the story where Daring Do and who you described as a Rainbow colored mare had sexual acts together?" Twilight became confused, "We strictly forbid any type of sexual themes of any kind."
Rainbow Dash began to sob, "I know I've shouldn't have sent it! I was never good with spelling or grammar! And I don't know why I wrote that stuff with Daring Do and that mare who's totally not me! I just wanted to let out my sexual fantasies somehow!"
Twilight began to pet Rainbow Dash's head, "There, there Rainbow, I completely understand. If it makes you feel better, there's more to the letter."
"They probably just want to mock me some more!"
"Here let me read it to you," Twilight continued reading, "But, we do have to point out that the idea for the story you tried to give was very unique and interesting!"
Rainbow Dash looked up, "Wha?"
"If you fix your writing errors and get rid of the adult themes, this could probably be feature material! Sincerely, Markwell Morning, editor of Daring Do Magazine."
"T-t-they liked my story?"
"Of course they did, all you have to do is fix your errors and lighten up the content."
"But I'm terrible at writing."
"I can help you write!"
"Really Twi?"
"Of course I will, you are my friend you know!"
"Thanks Twilight," Rainbow stood up, "But wait, you're not going to tell anypony about this? Stuff like this is gold for ponies to mock!"
"Well, that's the point, I don't want to mock you Dashie, you're my friend."
"But I mean, I wrote about sex and stuff!"
"Rainbow, I write romance stories too when I'm bored sometimes. It's normal for a pony, especially a mare, to do that."
"Really?" asked Rainbow Dash
"Yep," confirmed Twilight, "Now, how about we go and teach you how to write better, and make your story the best Daring Do fanfiction ever made!"
"Yeah! I'll go get the paper!"
"And I'll get the quill!"
So, Twilight and Rainbow worked together to make her story completely perfect. Twilight taught Rainbow how to write up to an almost professional level, and helped her plan out the story. After the next 2 months, her story was accepted to the Daring Do Magazine.
"Wohoo!" Cheered Rainbow and Twilight.
"We did it!" Cheered Rainbow.
"No, you did it." Twilight gave her a pat on the back and called Spike, "Spike take a letter!"
Spike was hesitating to laugh, "Um yeah, got it!"
"Dear Princess Celestia, today I learned that..." Twilight noticed Spike's laughter, "Spike what are you doing!"
"Reading Dashie's original story."
"Hey give that back you twerp!" Rainbow Dash tried to snatch the story from Spike, but he locked the door in his room before she could get him.
"This is great, Rainbot Smash." Spike mocked her pen name, and started to read the story aloud, "Oh Daring Do, said the rainbow colored pony," he chuckles a bit, "You're such a charmer!"
"Hey stop reading it!" yelled Rainbow.
He ignores, "Come with me, babe," says Daring, "Let's go have a good time." Spike bursts into laughter.
"Spike, please stop!" Rainbow turned to Twilight, "Twilight! Stop him before- What are you doing?"
Twilight was holding in a bit of her laughter.
"Hey, you jerk," complained Rainbow Dash, "You said you were my friend!"
"I am Rainbow," Twilight chuckled some more, "But I can't believe you wrote it like... Nevermind, you're right I'll go and stop him."
"Wait!" Yelled Spike, "There's more."
"Oh no." Whimpered Rainbow.
"That night," Spike continues, "Daring and the colored pony went to her house and had the best night of their lives."
"Twilight stop him!"
"I will, don't worry, I just have to find the key to the door," Twilight obviously didn't want to stop Spike.
"Daring went to her and asked, let's go to bed together? So they did."
Rainbow tried to break down the door, "Twilight, why can't I break down the door?"
"It's a magic door!" replied Twilight, "It can't be opened unless with a key!"
"Well, then find it faster or I'll tell everyone you write sex stuff too!"
"Rainbow, I'm probably going to show everyone your original story anyway!" Threatened Spike.
Spike continued reading, "They started to make out with each other in bed, one hoof caressing their partner's body, and rubbing their marehood with their-," Spike bursted into laughter so hard it almost killed him.
Rainbow Dash was getting furious. She couldn't break down the door and only Twilight knows where the key is. She had to let out her fury somehow. She started to glow red, and steam was coming out of her ears.
"Found the key!" Alerted Twilight.
But she was too late, Rainbow was glowing redder than blood on a spotlight.
Twilight looked confused, "Rainbow, you o-"
BOOM!
Ponyville blew into peices by a mix of a Rainbow and a nuke. A RainNuke. The blast was so powerful, it shook all of Equestria, and lit up so bright, parts of the world at night would suddenly turn daytime.
And that was the story of the end of Ponyville.
(Moral: Never write fanfiction in Equestria. You will die!)
