4025 B.W.

Celestia was seated on the edge of a cliff, overlooking her and her sister's kingdom. Kingdom, meaning a large group of ponies with no houses or a place to sleep. The closest thing to a bed anyone had was a pile of leaves. Sleeping was also hard as ponies had to wear nothing to bed so they could hang their clothes out to dry after washing them. The clothing, itself, was very primitive as it was just a bunch of leaves strung together and reinforced with some magic. The princesses both had on shiny armor passed down to them by their parents.

The white alicorn let out a sigh as she watched her subjects mingle about below. "Oh, how I wish there was something we could do to make their lives easier..."

"I, too, have noticed their unhappiness..." Luna said, going to sit beside her. "But, what can we do?"

The white alicorn eyed her sister before looking at her barely-a-kingdom once more. "I do not know, sister... But, let us greet them and let them know that we acknowledge their concerns."

Nodding, Luna unfolded her wings and dropped off the cliff. Celestia did the same, both letting their wings catch the air as they glided down to the ground. On landing, the ponies nearby turned to them and bowed.

"Greetings, fellow ponies," Celestia said in her calm and regal tone at a volume which could be heard from a distance. "My sister and I are aware of how tough this life is for all of you and we will do what we can to help."

Upon saying this, a dark green mare with light green mane and tail slowly approached them. "Um... Your Highnesses?"

Celestia gave her a smile and slowly stepped up to her. "Yes? What is it?"

"I-I heard of a legend..." The green mare explained, her eyes focused on the ground. "O-Of a species with the knowledge to... create living structures out of the land around them..."

"A legend?" Asked Luna, sounding highly uncertain of this idea.

"Anything is worth a shot," Celestia said, looking over her shoulder at her sister. "Especially if it makes the lives of our subjects easier to bear."

Crossing her arms, Luna let out a sigh. "Yes, I suppose you are right... As always..."

Turning back to the green mare, Celestia slowly got to one knee and put her hand on the mare's shoulder. "Look at me." After a moment's hesitation, the intimidated mare did as asked. "Tell me about the legend..."

The green mare gave the princess a light smile. "According to the few who found them, they live by the Peaks of Peril. They have structures to sleep in and protect themselves from the rain. Comfortable places to sleep..." The mare seemed to be in awe by the fantasy, her eyes full of hope.

Celestia listened carefully and nodded. "That does sound like a wonderful place... And, if we can find it, we will ask the, uh..."

"Keary..." the green mare said. "No, wait... I think it was... Kirin... Though, I should warn you that the ones who found them were met with hostility."

Giving her shoulder a pat, Celestia stood up. "Then, we will show these Kirin that we mean them no harm."

"We should still bring our armor," Luna chimed in. "Just in case."

"Just in case," Celestia agreed, before taking off into the sky and hovering about 20 feet above the ground. As Luna flew up to join her, Celestia lit up her horn to cast a voice amplification spell so all her subjects could hear. "Attention, everyone!" She announced. "My sister and I will be setting off on a quest to find the beings known as Kirin! With the hope of earning their trust so they can show us how to build better homes for ourselves! We will make our home better than it has ever been before! This, we promise! But, do not worry about our absence, for we shall cast a protection spell to shield you from harm!" She then paused for a moment to look at everyone, as everyone was looking at her. "We will be setting off immediately."

"Right away?" Luna asked, flying up to her. "Are you sure?"

"We can not wait any longer, sister," Celestia said as she turned to face the blue alicorn. "Our kingdom has suffered enough. We have to do this now."

Luna gave a nod before smiling, her horn lighting up. "Then, let us cast this spell and then find those Kirin."
